Description

Steven Seagal (Belly of the Beast, Out for a Kill), the free world's most "independent" anti-terrorist agent, is going down under - not to foreign ports but submerged, under the sea, where waves of deceit are set to torpedo his command permanently. Chris Cody (Seagal) is summoned from his military prison cell and promised a presidential pardon - with a hitch. An American Ambassador has been assassinated - by the U.S. Secret Service. Now the C.I.A. wants Cody to uncover and terminate this deadly operation, but they don't tell him the truth. Cody ends up overpowered and trapped beneath the waves but hardly out of his depth.

I enjoyed the blockbuster Steven Seagal was in called Under Siege and I've taken in some films he did here and there after that great film, which was also helped with a cast that included Gary Busey and Tommy Lee Jones.

I could not even finish this movie, it was that bad. The level of special effects were horrible, with presentations that were so false it made me want to poke my finger through the screen to see if my outstretched hand would go right through the paper looking backdrops. Weak characters and a plot that spins around forever without really going anywhere other than down. Seriously, skip this and be selective when looking for a Seagal film anymore because this cheaply made straight to DVD stuff is terrible. I wish Seagal himself would have some pride but considering he probably is not getting any offers, he has to take what he can get. The last major role he had in a great action film was unfortunately when he fell out of that airplane at the beginning of the movie Executive Decision and it obviously has been a free fall ever since. Submerged is cheap low grade filler and is the kind of film you could not give away if you paid someone to take it!

Seagal's style..............2006-08-19

If you're a fan of Steven Seagal then you won't be disappointed. He always knows how to deal with the enemy and he'll do anything to reach his goal. It is too bad that Seagal doesn't use his Martial arts skills as much as he uses weapons most of the time.

I've finally seen Submerged on cable. It's a great flick. The director made it much more gritty, fast paced, and geared towards what I assume the young people appreciate today. As with other reviewers, I didn't hear the "dubbed in dialogue" that they were referring to. Also, with all the split screen and flashbacks, it all ties into the story.

Anyway, Steven is a convict that must rescue some Americans and brings in some old friends who are very ba****ss. Lots of action and as always with Mr. Seagal, the moral is, be good, because good is always rewarded and bad punished. It's great!

I can imagine that one could sell himself out for the money, everybody does so these days, but it is blatantly obvious that money is the only thing Seagal cares about. He doesn't really care what crap you end up when you buy this DVD, as long as money end up in his pockets. However, as 7th Dan Shihan that has thousands of Aikido practiotioners all over the world looking up to him, it appears that he has no shame as well. Forget about all that bs about inner self, japan, martial arts etc, this guy sold his soul to the devil. Vinnie Jones playing bad ass guy and acting on top of that? Yeah righ, my grandma doing pottery scene with Patrick Swayze would look more convincing. What have you learned in Japan Steven for all those years?

This is not a bad movie - it just lacks from a large enough budget to add some frills. One reviewer mentioned the Seagal's voice being so different but if he had really been watching he would have seen that Seagal's lines were dubbed in for some reason. Not all of them, but some. But it is a typical Seagal movie and worth watching.

There are good movies, these are movies worth seeing. Then there are bad movies, movies not worth seeing. Then there is a paradox, movies so bad, they must be seen. That is the category that "Submerged" falls into. This is one of those movies where the more serious the writers tried to be, the funnier it ended up. (Not laugh `with' funny, laugh `at' funny!) This movie is filled with appalling lines like "He's shot, but it's not deep!", or "I want a full night search ready by O-600!" (think about that one). And the story is not even plausible to an elementary school student. If a plane falls from the sky at full speed into the ocean with no pilot, IT WILL CRASH AND BE DESTROYED! It won't just come to a gentle rest, then sink! This movie is so bad it is good. I have never laughed so hard at anything else in my life! And I won't give anything away, but just wait until you see the end, it involves a U-Haul, and handy bazooka supplied by convenient off-screen personnel, and apparently it takes place on Tuesday at 3 o'clock...

Where's George Kennedy when you need him?.......2001-03-05

This movie steals SO much footage from Airport 1975 and especially Airport 77, I kept expecting George Kennedy or Charlton Heston to stroll in at any minute. The footage is so messed up, you can tell it's a different plane in the flying scenes and another one in the submerged airplane scenes!!! For all you Coolio fans, he gets top billing, but is only in the movie for about 40 minutes!

Your typical made for tv movie with unessassary language and nudity. good job there coolio. if this movie took place in Glenville, NY at the airport by Price Chopper (HEHEHE)then it would of made more sense!

This movie is far from being the best movie I saw, but, for an action movie, it's good. I mean, I actually don't like action movies like those with Stallone, all the military stuff... I don't find that interesting. But this one is a good one in that category, it is as good as Bruce Willis movies or that kind of stuff. The story is original and entertaining. Last but not least, the reason why I put five stars... it's the actress NICOLE EGGERT!!! She is so cute and sexy, now she looks like more to a lady than to a young girl. She's back after her disappearance of one or two years and she's cutest than ever. If you like action movies, this one is for you, and if you love NICOLE EGGERT, buy this movie without waiting!!!
