A milestone of cinematic eroticism, The Story of O was an art house sensation in 1975, and it's still worthy of intelligent discussion. As with the controversial French novella by Pauline Réage, reactions to Just Jaeckin's sumptuous adaptation range from moral outrage to masturbatory indulgence, yet this remains one of the few sex films that stand the test of time (and a lot of academic study). Championed by practitioners of bondage and discipline and vilified by feminists, this metaphorical "love dream" (as Jaeckin has called it) follows the beautiful fashion photographer "O" (Corrine Clery) as she, like many gorgeously naked women before her, is "trained" for a seemingly satisfying life of love and discipline, her freedom sacrificed to the man (Anthony Steel) whom she willingly obeys. The debate whether Jaeckin's feminine-empowerment ending, which differs from that of the novella, justifies a story of humiliating submission is just one more reason why The Story of O endures. Story of O, the movie, is a softish core redo of the Pauline Reage classic novel: Story of O. While it's fairly true to the book, it does make allowances in order to stay out of the XXX rating area. All in all, however, I'd call it a "must have" for serious collectors.

I was so disappointed by this purchase and this film. Being a fan of the book I was very excited to see how they translated it on to film. What I found out is that they didn't translate it at all. They LOOSELY followed the story line and took the liberty to add and change which in my opinion, changed the story all together. I threw this movie away and would not reccomend it to any true Story of O fan.

Somehow, I was expecting better acting, knowing this would be a major undertaking based on a controversial book. Sadly, the film just doesn't work. There's no arguing Corrine Clery's beauty but Udo Kier is completely miscast.

I bought this DVD with CandyGirl Video: Sweet Satisfaction Kobe Lee and I loved that DVD, but wanted to comment on this one. I haven't bought a Girls Gone Wild feature in a while, and now I remember why. First, I really have to complain about the length of this one, it was just an hour. I'm sorry, but with DVDs being able to hold nearly 3 hours, they could give us a lot more for our money. Then, since this is a compilation, I did catch a few scenes that I already have on other DVDs and the new footage wasn't that exciting. Yes, there are some very attractive girls here, but we don't get to see all of them. Shots below the belt are few and close-ups are almost nonexistent and forget about pink (see CandyGirl Video DVDs if you're looking for close-ups and pink shots). As a rental, this would be fine, but I regret picking it up. I recommend tracking down the older Girls Gone Wild DVDs (from their first 5 years) than picking up any of these newer titles. At least back then, the girls were true amateurs.

There's not much that I can sway about this movie that'll sway you one way or the other. If you want this movie I suggest you get this edition. You'll have to read subtitles but that's the least of the reasons you bought this movie. It's high fun. The story is thin but the visuals are definitely worth it. Not only does the movie look clean but the it's one very fun movie. I definitely enjoyed it.
Recommended.
P.S. This edition is one minute longer than the Producer's Cut. If you're willing to read subtitles, I suugest this one.
A Tale About Tails.......2007-08-02
Carla (played by Russian born actress Yuliya Mayarchuk) lives in Venice and is madly in love with her boyfriend Matteo (Jarno Berardi.) When the film begins, Carla recently arrived in London and is working as a receptionist at a London hotel. The couple plans that Matteo will travel to England where he will join Carla in a short period of time. Implementing this plan, however, becomes problematic - - First, Carla is incredibly beautiful, is easily aroused sexually, and has a penchant for dressing provocatively. The first time we see her, while walking through Hyde Park, she is wearing a see-through skirt, with no underwear -- at her next appearance in public, she wears unbelievably brief short shorts. It is therefore not surprising that nearly everyone she encounters attempts to seduce her. This includes her female real estate agent and the agent's former husband. At first, Carla resists, but ultimately she succumbs. Later, however, she makes clear to the female realtor that she is interested in males, not women.
Meanwhile, back in Venice, Matteo stumbles on evidence which suggests that Carla was unfaithful even before she traveled to London. He argues with Carla during a phone conversation and calls off his trip to London. Then, after reconsidering the matter, he appears unannounced at Carla's flat in London to bring matters to a head. This film examines the question of whether infidelity by a female partner, and then lying about it, can be beneficial to a relationship. I will not reveal the answer here to avoid spoiling your potential enjoyment of the storyline.
But alas, this film is not really about relationships - - it is soft core pornography and is focused on sex. Be aware, however, that this film is about as hard as soft core can go without crossing the line. No actual penetration is visible, but both female and male genitalia are shown throughout the film.
The movie is shot on "film" and the production values are high. It appears to have been filmed on location in both London and Venice. The transfer to DVD and the DVD sound (two channel stereo) are also very good.
Carla spends a very large part of the film wearing little or no clothing and the camera studies her perfect face and body in great detail. There is also a bevy of additional attractive females appearing throughout the film in various stages of undress and totally nude on multiple occasions. As the cover of the DVD case suggests, the director Tinto Brass pays special attention to the female derriere in his camera shots.
Watching Yuliya Mayarchuk (Carla) alone is worth the price of this DVD. Combining this with a credible semblance of a plot, high production values, and wall to wall nudity gives this film a five star rating, in my opinion. My only complaint is that the film is in Italian, with English subtitles, and reading the dialogue, which often proceeds at a fast clip, sometimes makes it difficult to keep up with the visual action. However, this is a DVD and the rewind button is designed to handle this kind of problem.

Have you ever bought a DVD that delivered EXACTLY what you were expecting? It's a good feeling, huh? Well, that's what CHEEKY did for me. I bought it for a surplus of nudity, and that's what I got! In addition, the movie is also a lot of fun and has some comical scenes in it.
Yuliya Mayarchuk is absolutely stunning as the main character (Carla). She travels from Italy to London where she plans to wait for her boyfriend to arrive. Along the way, some mis-understandings lead to a thrill ride of sexual mis-adventures. Mayarchuk is nude thru most of the movie, which is just fine w/me. Sometimes there's no particular reason for her to be naked, but she is anyway. That's just fine w/me too! She is absolutely adorable.
In this day & age when it seems like the whole world is falling apart, DVDs like CHEEKY are extra-important as they form an avenue of escapism. If you want a movie that is full of mindless fun and lots of gorgeous naked women, then this one should be at the top of your wishlist!

About half of this disc has really good images. The remainder is for
strange people who feel that size alone is important. All parts of the
body have an optimal size, which is related to the overall body structure.
A giant distorted object, I believe is not enjoyed by most. If you have
seen all the other GGW and want more, then get this one for the good

The title was very appropriate. They took clips from other Girls Gone Wild dvds, but the clips they took were clips of the some of the best breasts caught on GGW cameras. Because of that, this is one of the best GGW dvds you could buy (if you like breasts). Sure, it's girls flashing the camera and other girls coming into the GGW trailer to go a little further than a quick flash, but unlike other GGW dvds, ALL of the breasts you'll see in this one are FULL and BEAUTIFUL.

I like this dvd...I rented it, and its good enough that I will buy it to add to my collection...to watch again and again. You know the script...they find great looking girls, and they talk them into getting naked in front of their camera...so they can film them....topless...some of them bottomless...or fully naked. The girls pose naked just to get a free Girls Gone Wild t-shirt (and their 30 seconds of "fame" on dvd)...real amateur girls...naked.

Matt and Khym is a wonderful introduction into the joys of married sex. When you look at this movie, you can see the genuine love Matt and Khym have for each other. Matt and Khym are so candid in talking about their life in and out of the bedroom that you come away feeling like they could be your next door neighbors or close friends. The scene at the end of their lovemaking when Matt looks lovingly at Khym is the way any girl would want her guy to look at her. I replayed the promo at Tony Comstock's web site over and over again, just to see that look.
This is definitely not your typical porn movie. Half of the movie involves talking interspersed with clips of their love making. I recommend couples watch the whole movie in the living room, and then move on to the bedroom.
Beautiful and believable.......2007-06-17
This is the first of the Comstock movies I've seen, but it absolutely won't be the last. This really is something different - "documentary" erotica, about a real couple not so different from anyone else.
The first half of the movie features the two talking to a silent, unseen interviewer. They describe their relationship, from the time they met, to their wedding (surprisingly like my own), through years of a complex and full home life. Throughout, they describe the career of their physical relationship at each period. It comes across as happy and a bit ordinary - I like that, it creates a kind of comfort with the couple that I don't have good words for, and teases me into caring about them.
The interview is broken into segments of a few minutes each, interleaved with moments from their bedroom love-making. That seems natural, too, the kinds of activities and positions I've enjoyed rather than bizarre contortions to create some camera angle. The interview ends about halfway through the movie. At that point, the bedroom scene restarts, then plays beyond what we saw in the first half. Because the interview made the two seem more real, my own arousal comes from theirs as if they're sharing it with me - not vicarious or voyeuristic, but friendly.
If you've been put off by adult films in the past, you probably had good reason: negative tone, forced activities and pacing, and people that look like plastic and sound worse. There's none of that here. It's warm, private, and above all happy - and isn't that what a love life should be?

Matt and Khym are a beautifully sexy, real life couple and I was completely charmed as I listened to them tell their story in the documentary style interview that opens this wonderful film and totally captivated to witness their lovemaking in the erotic scene that followed.
They seem to enjoy themselves in front of the camera in a way that welcomes us as viewers into their intimate life and into their bedroom with a disarming frankness that's become a trademark of Tony Comstock's films. As a result, this lovely film has been welcomed into my own bedroom on a number of occasions!
Not only do Matt and Khym shine and bubble over with a tender enthusiam for each other that seems to make them literally sparkle, but the film itself has the most beautiful lustre. It has a look that lends weight to the idea that love, sex, pleasure and intimacy are indeed important and special and wonderful. With his distinctive style, Tony Comstock has once again cleverly combined visual beauty, sexual heat, genuine chemistry, sympathetic characters and compelling real life stories into an erotic, well crafted film that I'm delighted to recommend.

I was so moved and delighted by this DVD that I emailed Tony Comstock to tell him that as soon as I got done watching it. For those who have misgivings about the content or quality of mainstream porn, this offering from Comstock may be just what you're looking for in that it is genuine, heartfelt, and sexy. For those like me who do delve a fair amount into mainstream porn, I recommend Matt and Khym as a magnificent and refreshing testament to how hot the depiction of genuine sex in the context of obvious true love can be. Very highly recommended.

I had the opportunity to see this film at the American Cinemateque screening with Ms. Lindberg last year. With a few noted exceptions (Thriller, Sex & Fury - only easy to see since the DVD releases), her films have been incredibly difficult to see in the US and I feel this is one her fans should enjoy. Instead of a violent actioner like those two films, this one plays as a social commentary/soft core film about a young nymphomaniac trying to overcome her weakness for men. It sounds a bit more salacious than it actually is. Christina is a wonderfully fragile as she is in the more dramatic scenes of the other moments and Stellan Skarsgard is fine in a very early role. All in all, my second favorite film of the 5 I've seen by my absolute favorite cult starlet. If your a fan of Lindberg, also look for Exposed/Exponerad, due from Synapse in November (probably). A very odd film, very different than it was depicted in the trailer (availble on Synapse's 42nd St. Forever V1 trailer comp as The Depraved), but still worth checking out!

April Hannah is a frustrated housewife with a secret desire. And since this is a softcore video, you just know what that secret is, right? Of course, it's to go rock climbing with her husband. No, I'm not joking. But hey, I've seen much weaker storylines used to tie together a bunch of sex scenes.
There are five sex scenes. A boy/girl scene with April, two boy/girl scenes with Akira Lane, a girl/girl scene with April and Brittney Skye, and a boy/girl with Brittney Skye. Like all Torchlight releases, the sex scenes are long. The girl/girl scene clocks in at twelve minutes. All the women are attractive and smoking hot. Most of the sex scenes are good and decently explicit. The exception was the final boy/girl scene with Brittney Skye, which suffered badly from some very unimaginative and tedious photography. Fortunately, Brittney is less smoking hot that April or Akira, so it wasn't a huge waste.
It's one of Torchlight's better releases, and if you like their stuff, I'd recommend it.

I really have no idea what the plot of this movie is - and I didnt care! I watched it for the sex scenes only! There are, I believe 5 sex scenes in all. Not enough for my taste, but each scene is about 10 minutes long. The girls are naked often and we even see some pink from a couple of them, but you have to watch for it, not every actress here shows it.
I'm not very familiar with the actresses except for Akira Lane, who is the really hot asain girl in the movie. She has two very good scenes. There is also a girl/girl scene which is fairly hot, though unfortunatly for me, Akira was not in it.
This movie has a hardcore porn feel to it. I'm actually wondering if one or two of the scenes werent faked! Little things also add to the porn feel, like - the way this whole movie is filmed; it's almost as if they just used an average everyday video camera to shoot it, although the video quality is very good. And also, we hear the slapping of skin against skin in this movie - just like we hear in all hardcore porn, which is something I dont think I've seen in any other "softcore" movie.

For those of you looking for good softcore fun this movie fits the bill. There is more full frontal in this dvd then half of the other movies available. Except for one scene the audio is of the actors during the sex scenes and Ander Paige can get very vocal. The movie is about a porfessor/researcher of ancient civilizations. Ander plays some sort of sex queen who rules over her men. Who cares about the plot don't buy this movie if your looking for plot. The women are all very hot and so are the scenes. It's not Femalien but its better then most.

Yes, this is typical Joe D'Amato. It is explicit, but the the scenes are relatively short. If your curious and can rent it then do so. I wish that I had now that I'm stuck with a movie I don't particularly like. I've seen quite a few of his films, and I have "99 Women"( the explicit euro vers.), "Emmanuel in America" uncut just to name two. This movie is so bad that I've only seen a portion of it, and I have no intention of seeing the rest of it. I wish they would release "Top Model" as that was a good one.

Tinto Brass presents 5 short stories and each one gets hotter. Each one has a different story line and location but definitly knows how to keep your interest. The last story in addition to blowing my mind with the beauty of the girl, has a twist at the end. The girl is super hot and the background music from the store dressing room stayed with me a long time. One of Tinto's best!

Sensual, fun, and very erotic. Brass went a bit more over the top in this one...well worth seeing for those who love comedy and great nude shots of beautiful women.

I am really not that critical. Either I find a DVD entertaining, or I do not. So, I have to disagree with the previous reviewer; I found Private to be quite entertaining.
Now, granted there was no plot development, or even character development. I can only assume the previous reviewer was not familar with the Tinto Brass genre. There is no prentension of a stellar acting performance and/or a script that would evoke critical thought. Tinto Brass' movies are sexually laced, and by design whimsical. Within minutes after the introduction end you can expect to see a nude female in a risque scene, which is typical of a Tinto Brass movie. That is exactly what I was expecting from Private, and that is exactly what I received.
I was a bit perturbed by the previous reviewer comment that the characters resembled residents of a homeless shelter. I thought it was in poor taste to imply that the unfortunately downtrodden homeless are also unattractive. The homeless have issues they must overcome, and need our support and not our ridicule.
Personally, I thought there were several quite attractive women in Private. There was one dumpy women with the dreaded implants, but even she was remotely attractive. The rest of the women were average to above average. There was also an abundance of women to view and/or critique. So, if you did not like one there were several more that might pique your interest. I am a fan of Tinto Brass, and I sincerly enjoyed Private. If you enjoy lighthearted sexcapades, then you should enjoy Private as well.
