Walter Hill's updated (1984), highly stylized take on biker movies still looks like a determinedly eccentric project that happens to work at times, but not at others. Michael Paré plays a biker who agrees to rescue his ex-girlfriend (a rocker played by Diane Lane) from kidnappers (led by Willem Dafoe). The ensuing battle against a nocturnal background of industrial blight, chrome, and loud music is like some fever dream of a Springsteen fan who listened to the song "Born to Run" far too often. The audacity of the film carries it a long way even after it becomes clear that Hill's experiment is crumbling under its own weight. Dafoe, who looked even spookier back then than he does now, is memorable, as are Amy Madigan and Rick Moranis. Music is by Ry Cooder, with an appearance by the Blasters. The DVD release has a widescreen presentation, optional French soundtrack, optional Spanish subtitles. --Tom Keogh

I just love this movie, so happy that i could purchase this and own it
Streets of Fire.......2007-08-30
I love the movie and consider it a cult classic. Lots of famous stars that I love to see when they were younger.
A rock n roll Fable.......2007-08-11
It is amazing how many of the actors in this movie are all over the movie industry. Fun story and great music. Had to have a copy to show people that have never seen it.
A Great and Funny Entertainment.......2007-08-06
This is a very good tale, and Walter Hill relates it with all the "clichés" that the story needs. Is a matter of honor. The characters are what you expect from them, the bad is really a bad guy, the anti-heroe is very stupid, the girl is a little fool, very pretty and interested in her carrer. The hero is perfect, when he travells by train, he is in the train ALONE. It's a perfect combination of music, motorcycle, leather's jackets and action, honor, blues & Rock & Roll. Enjoy it.
Streets of Fire.......2007-07-13
Streets of Fire is a great movie to have.Lot of action in it.Michael Pare is a great actor in it rescuing his ex-girlfriend.I watched this movie years ago and found it here on Amazon and decided to get it because of a good memory of the movie. This movie is a enjoyable movie to watch

Great 80s Movie revamped - Terrible HD DVD.......2007-09-07
I am sorry for the review for all the HD Fans out there . I purchased a HD DVD player to go along side my Blu Ray player so I am not restricted to the issue of titles avail. So as I love this move and it is rated in my top 10 movies I went out and purchased THIS FILM and AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON ON HD DVD even though I have the other versions And boy was I so Disappointed, once agian with HD DVD. The picture quality alone on A normal DVD via A BLU RAY Player is far supior to this HD Version. SAVE YOUR MONEY
Never looked or sounded better!.......2007-07-28
For fans of this film, your wait is over. Streets of Fire on HD DVD is a joy.
The picture is awesome and Dolby Digital Plus soundtrack is so much better than what was previously available.
What a great old cult type flick........2007-07-15
I am kind of wondering though about the billing on the movie. You forgot to mention Michael Pare. Sure he sort of dropped out sight after the 80's, but everything he did was great. Even his start on the old TV series, Greatest American Hero. I don't know where you are Mike, but some out here haven't forgot. And you got to kiss D. Lane before anyone else. hubba hubba. As Borat would say, "Nice".

great item, definitely something a kid loves to watch ...and me too.......2007-05-10
my family and i have watched this video a dozen of times alredy !!! it's super fun !
GREAT job at making children MORE aware and LESS afraid..........2007-01-09
Not sure why another reviewer only gave this 1 star! Both my 2-year old and 3-year old love this DVD. It's a great way to teach little Elmo Lovers about fire safety and to help them become LESS fearful. Yes, it does show Elmo afraid because a fire in Hooper's store (all they show is smoke coming from the back room due to a small grease fire). He's three years old, of course he's scared! BUT, that's the whole point of the DVD. After the fire, Elmo is invited to and visits the fire station where he talks to and learns about fire fighters, gets a tour of the fire station and learns what to do in case of a fire, and by the end of the DVD he's not scared anymore. It shows that fires don't need to be a scary thing as long as you know what to do. Has catchy songs that teach fire safety, and Elmo does a great job in showing other children that they don't need to be afraid if they know what to do. I think it does a GREAT job at teaching little ones fire safety!
Elmo Visits Firehouse.......2007-01-04
What is better than Firemen and Elmo for a DVD of learning and fun. A big hit with our grandchildren.
helps children feel less afraid.......2006-03-13
My daughter who is a huge Elmo fan enjoyed this DVD. She was very sympathetic when Elmo was afraid, but now points out every fire truck, tells me why the firefighters wear their boots, hat and jacket, and can stop, duck and go.
Great video.......2006-02-25
My kids age 2 and 5 love this video. They both want to practice fire safety now and are much less scared. It is a good platform to jumpstart a very important topic.

needs a little more gasoline to light the fire.......2006-08-19
Ring of Fire is more of a love story than a martial arts film, set in the cheesiest tradition of Romeo & Juliet. In L.A., the Chineese and Americans are constantly at each other's throats, fighitng both in and out of the ring. Don Wilson plays a doctor (Johnny) with martial arts skills, romancing the Maria Ford character (Julie), whose brother Brad (played by Dale Jacoby: Bloodmatch, No Retreat No Surrender) is obsessed with getting in the ring with Johhny's cousin - Terry (played by Steven Vincent Leigh: Deadly Bet, To Be The Best). Eventually, the 2 show off in a literal ring of fire, a short but good fight in the movie, fighting Thai style with broken glass (seen also in Kickboxer's 1 & 2). There is not a whole lot of fighting in the movie, but most of the fights are pretty good. Most of the move time is devoted to the building relationship between Johnny and Julie. Unfortunately, Don Wilson only has one fight in the movie, at the end. Other decent martial art stars featured in the film are Eric Lee and Vince Murdocco (Kickboxer 2, To Be The Best). One of the best lines of all time comes from this movie. Hands down to "I have some of Bruce Lee's favotie drink - WAAATAAAAH!
Overall, Ring of Fire is an average martial arts movie that throws in a decent love story, though very cheesy. There isn't a whole lot of action, but if you enjoy these on screen actors (for their skills of course), you will enjoy Ring of Fire. It is the best one in the trilogy.
"Have some of Bruce Lee's favorite drink-WAAATAAHHH!!!!!" .......2005-01-19
RING OF FIRE is one of Don "The Dragon" Wilson's best movies. It features also some of the biggest legends in professional kickboxing- Eric Lee (a frequent collaborator of Don's), Ron Yuan, Dale Jacoby, and Vince Murdocco(FLESH GORDON).
It is true that Don has only one major fight in the film. The rest of the time, he does a bit of sparring with his cousin and finds time to romance Maria Ford.
But his one fight in RING OF FIRE is still damn good, and by itself is worth the rent/buying price. Check it out.
Another Great Don Wilson flick!!.......2003-07-09
Don "the dragon " Wilson is a kick boxing legend. Winning 10 different world championships and proving his dragon style kung-fu was affective in the ring. Ring of Fire is one of my favorites. The plot is very well put together unlike some of Don's other films. Don only had one fight scene lasting a maximum 7 minutes. It has some great fights between what I like to call, "the asians" and the " white boys", Ring of Fire is a prety good martial arts/kick boxing film that gives you a action packed time!
AT LONG LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2003-05-18
After almost 12 years of looking hopelessly for this edition of Ring of Fire on VHS and DVD, and even asking people online and searching the web to see if someone taped a copy off of TV, the real deal is finally here on DVD! If you don't know what I'm talking about, there was about 4 minutes of sex and nudity cut out of all versions of this movie on VHS and DVD and was only shown on premium channels back around 1991 or 1992. After almost 12 years they finally decided to release it with the nudity. Even if you already own a previous edition on DVD or VHS this is still a MUST BUY for Maria Ford fans. You won't be disappointed and the movie's (finally) great now!!
great movie, great fights, EVEN A GOOD PLOT!.......2000-06-11
This is one of the very few movies of dons that I like. It shows great fight scenes keeps the action pumping has good dialouge and the training sequnces really stick with you! It shows the true athletisism af the masters because dispite his performance in his other movies don is a phenominal fighter. this movie gives his name some meaning.
Product Description
This DVD is packed with unedited historical silent newsreel film footage documenting the devastation that resulted from one of the worst natural disasters ever to affect the United States. Almost exactly 100 years ago today, San Francisco experienced one of the most powerful earthquakes ever to hit a highly populated city. On April 18, 1906 San Franciscans were abruptly awakened by massive tremors lasting only a matter of seconds but resulting in entire city blocks crumbling into rubble and blazing fires that consumed a majority of the city. Step back in time and get a feeling for what life was like for survivors of the San Francisco earthquake over 100 years ago. The raw footage contained on this DVD is great for home schoolers or in the classroom. Arrange a viewing for students and use this DVD as a starting point for fascinating discussions regarding earthquakes, natural disasters and preparedness. Purchase your San Francisco Earthquake DVD today and receive it within only a few days. Approximate running time: 45 minutes.
Customer Reviews:
Low Budget History.......2006-12-10
DVD came in an envelope with no case - only a paper sleeve. Can't expect much more for $2.95. No narration - no sound, no captions. Some good footage though. If you were to view this DVD not knowing there was an earthquake and fire in San Francisco in 1906, you'd have thought it was bombed. Shows well the destruction and devastation. This DVD would be a good candidate for a knowledgeable narration and better editing.

Product Description
"Streets on Fire" skateboard DVD is the sequel to "Wheels Of Fire". "Streets on Fire" was produced by Scott Dittrich in 1989 for Santa Cruz skateboards and features a plot in which Jason Jessee stars as a skateboarder being arrested for the crime of skateboarding on a public street. As he sits in jail he ponders all the skating he did the past year with friends Steve Alba, Natas Kaupas, Jeff Kendall, Claus Grabke, Jeff Hedges, Jeff Grosso and Corey O'brien. The prison guard that watches Jason Jessee is played by no other than Skip Engblom of Santa Monica Airlines. Jessee is later convicted of the death penalty for his skateboarding and sent to the electric chair. The highlights of this film are once again, Natas Kaupas and his awesome style, huge ollies and mind blowing tricks. This is an epic, classic skateboard video! Without question one of THE top 10 skateboarding videos ever made!
