4 out of 5 stars Plain fun!.......2007-09-13

I first saw this movie when I was about eight years old. I was a big Mario fan back then, loved him, Luigi, the games and the genre to bits; and let me tell you, to see this movie for the first time was thrilling. I didn't even care if King Koopa was in the form of a human or not, or that Yoshi wasn't green. All I could think was "Oh gosh, that's them! It's the Mario Brothers, and King Koopa!" (Squeal, squeal.) I guess the point I'm making is that it did a pretty nice job of real-world reinterpretation. There's so many things I like about the movie that I don't even want to take the time to type all of it out.
The reason that it only has four stars instead of five, despite how I've always loved it, is that it isn't in fact the best movie I've ever seen. It's among my favorites, yes, but it doesn't make my eyes pop out quite as much as it did back when I was a serious Mario gamer (and a child).

The opening scene with the cartoon dinosaurs was a bit silly, and I think the film could have done well enough without it. The scene where King Koopa turns into the Tyrannosaurus of his ancestry was plain too short, as well as King Koopa himself... I mean, the bottom half of his body must have been two feet tall for him to fit so well in that crane bucket. There was also no real threat involved: the bucket was quite a ways away from Mario at the time, and Koopa couldn't have jumped over if he'd tried.

Also, the inhabitants of Dinohattan could have had more reptilian features, even as small as those scales that you see on one or two of them early on. (And yes, I do remember that weird guy who is practically a walking lizard, even down to his delighted growl of pleasure at the smell of a piece of food he's holding in his hands.) I'm not saying go all-out with tails and claws, but let's stay a little more faithful to their dino ancestry.

Oh yes, and another small detail that keeps the movie from sitting among my mental list of Best Movies of All Time: humans apparently being descended from monkeys. That's one detail that I simply cannot wrap my suspension of disbelief around. Apes, monkeys and humans descended from a common ancestor, if evolution scientists haven't determined wrongly.

Anyway, just to end my review up on a positive note: my favorite characters are...
Mario, Big Bertha, The Old King, Yoshi, Iggy, Spike, and Daisy. Peace!

She is kidnapped by henchman working for the evil koopa king and taken to a parrelel demension because she has a rock that allows him to rule both demensions! 5 out of 5 stars love this movie.......2007-07-05

i'm so very happy that i've got this movie now. i saw it when i was little, i liked it, and even now i always remembered it and wanted to get it. i know that it doesn't go exactly like the games do, but that doesn't matter to me. there's times when they can't make movies/shows based off of games or books the way they should be, so i'm ok with this. Yoshi did look weird *even back then i thought he looked weird* but hey, it was still funny.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!.......2007-05-10

This is an AWESOME movie! I've looked for it everywhere and yes, I may be silly for saying this was an awesome movie, but I was a kid when it came out so, blame that! Quick shipping, perfect quality! Will definitely buy from these guys again!

Premiering just six months after the release of the game that inspired it, the animated series The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 integrated elements from the game into a serial-style cartoon that pitted heroic plumbers Mario and Luigi against the reptilian King Koopa and a squad of new villains. Over the course of 13 double episodes, Koopa (who is also occasionally addressed by his American handle, Bowser) and his seven unpleasant children, the Koopa Kids (or Koopalings) wreaked havoc in both the Mushroom World and the "real world," including stints in Hollywood, Venice, Hawaii, and Washington, D.C. (which includes a guest appearance by then-President George H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush!). Coming to the defense are the heroic plumbers Mario and Luigi, as well as Princess Toadstool and her faithful friend Toad, who thwart the Koopa menace by using many of the power-ups and aspects of the Super Mario Bros. 3 game. As with the previous Super Mario Bros. TV series, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, Super Mario Bros. 3 is long on action and fun and short on logic, and while the animation and scripting has dated poorly, the nostalgia inspired by seeing these shows again after almost two decades should help in overlooking any flaws. Longtime fans should know that several original songs have been removed from the episodes and replaced by generic background music; also missing is the infamous guest appearance by Milli Vanilli in "Kootie Pie Rocks," though this was pulled during the show's syndicated run. The three-disc set includes all 13 double episodes on two discs, while the third disc is devoted to supplemental features like "The Writers' Bible" (a rather bland string of recaps that serve to familiarize viewers with the characters and situations), a gallery of background and concept art, and a menu of original songs from the series. -- Paul Gaita

1 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE.......2007-07-16

Sadly I feel moved to write this review. I had greatly anticipated getting this dvd set. The episodes are awesome and are worth watching once or twice. However, disk #2 is defective on the super koopa episode. I'm on my 3rd copy of this and still having the exact same problem with this episode. I've actually contacted Shout Factory the producer of this dvd (310-979-5880) and thus far they haven't so much as called my back or emailed me back to acknowledge the problem. My advice don't buy this get it from your public library.

3 out of 5 stars Great series, but a rather weak DVD.......2007-07-05

The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3 - The Complete Series (Aired 1990, DVD release 2007.)

INTRODUCTION:
Nintendo made its first successful foray into the world of animation with the Super Mario Bros. Super Show in 1989. With the success of this newfound medium in which to place their mustachioed hero, it's not surprising Nintendo wanted to do another Mario cartoon. The next year, they did just that. Just months after the release of the Super Mario Bros. 3 video game in America, a coinciding cartoon came out. And now it's hit the DVD format!

OVERVIEW:
The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 - The Complete Series was released in DVD early in the summer of 2007. All 26 episodes of the series are included in two discs. A third bonus disc of "writer's bible" material is also included.

REVIEW (CARTOON):
This is many fans favorite Mario cartoon. Unlike the Super Show, Toad and the Princess do more that sit out on the sidelines here. Bowser has his Koopa Kids (for the first time in one of the major Mario cartoons), and there are plenty of other, interesting characters/items/etc. One thing this series has that the others don't are regular-basis "real world" visits, in which Mario and Luigi return to Earth for the storylines of numerous episodes. While this cartoon isn't remembered as well as the Super Show, it's no less excellent, and the cartoons themselves are actually quite the improvement.

REVIEW (DVD):
If you've seen any other Shout! Factory DVD of a Nintendo cartoon, you know what to expect here. The picture quality is crappy, without remastering of any kind. It looks better than my old VHS tapes, no question, but more could have been done here. All of the remade, popular music was replaced with the same "Mega Move" instrumental that the same stuff was done with on the Captain N DVD. The Writer's Bible bonus DVD has some interesting info, but a lot of it is pretty repetitive and pointless - I'm sure they could have condensed this material onto the episode discs and made the set a little cheaper - it was likely added on another disc to make it look like there was more in the set than their really was. One thing that annoyed me is that the episodes are NOT listed individually in the menus - they're listed as "pairs" as they originally aired. This means the "second" episode of the pair CAN NOT be selected for instant viewing - you've actually got to select the first episode, and hit "next" until you get to the second one. Pretty annoying.

The Milli Vanilli episode (Kootie Pie Rocks) seems to be the main source of debate here so I'm going to devote a paragraph exclusively to it. Honestly, the episode fared better than I thought it would. All references to the group are intact, and they are clearly referred to by name several times in the episode. From what I can tell, the only thing that has been changed is the music. The band's real music was featured in the original episode, which was replaced with the Mega Move instrumental generic music for the obvious legal reasons. This DOES create a few problems though. First of all, at the beginning, the group is playing "Blame It on the Rain" in the original unaltered episode. Because the song and all references to it have been edited out, Bowser's "Blame it on King Koopa" joke no longer makes sense. Likewise, in the Bowser's Castle scene, the group and the Marios say they're going to play Girl You Know It's True, but obviously the generic instrumental tune comes up instead. The song at the end is changed to the same instrumental, so the group's "tribute" to their rescuer loses a lot of its original importance. My last comment is that replacing it with a generic INSTRUMENTAL tune was a bad choice, since the duo is clearly singing in many parts of the music scenes. So, essentially, apart from the changed music making some inconsistencies and problems, all Milli Vanilli references (and the episode as a whole) is basically intact.

Like most recent Shout! Factory DVDs, this one does have some defects I feel need to be mentioned. All of these are in the Venice Menace/Super Koopa episodes. At one point the video "goes white" for a moment, and there are some audio glitches throughout the episode. It's nowhere near as bad as the "Queen of the Apes" fiasco on the Captain N DVD, but it's still a problem. However, I don't know if this one is the fault of the people editing the show to DVD or not - it's most likely a flaw with the master tape.

OVERALL:
Despite some issues this is a solid representation of a classic Nintendo cartoon on DVD. It's not the absolute masterpiece DVD presentation of the show I was hoping for, but I'm just grateful to have it on the DVD format. If you're an old-school Nintendo fan and/or someone who remembers and loved this classic show, pick up this set.

EDITION NOTES:
The set is gradually becoming available, and by the time you read this your local Suncoast/Best Buy/etc. will likely be stocking it. No word yet on whether or not Shout! Factory plans to fix the audio/video glitches in the Venice Menace/Super Koopa.

3 out of 5 stars A great old Saturday morning series, with a moderate DVD presentation........2007-06-27

This, by far, was my favorite of all of the Super Mario cartoons that were produced, even if it did have the most un-original title ever (the fact that the number 3 is in the title kind of makes it laughable).

It is a very fun show, and is based rather closely on the 3rd Super Mario game from the original NES. This had some very, very memorable episodes, and what I really liked about it was the presentation of the various powers that the Mario Bros. could use in the actual game.

Now, this was a show produced for kids, so if you are an adult, and didn't watch this when it was originally on, you may want to bypass it now, as it's something that you probably won't find much entertainment in at this point (with maybe the exception of anyone who is an EXTREME Super Mario fan, partiuclarly of the 3rd game, but somehow missed this show the first time around).

As far as I can tell, all of the episodes are intact, pretty much in there entirety.

There is, of course, the issue of the infamous Milli Vanilli episode, in which Mario, Luigi, the Princess, and Toad all go to the 'real world' to see their concert, and the music group gets kidnapped by King Koopa. Now, it is true that the music has been changed. In the original airing of this episode, Milli Vanilli are shown on stage performing "Blame it on the Rain". However, after the whole lip sync scandal broke out, this episode was re-edited with generic music in the place of the previous song. Unfortunately, this proved to make the concert scene make little sense because the generic music doesn't even have any lyrics, and yet Milli Vanilli are shown on stage moving their mouths and singing (or, lip syncing, if you prefer). Then, Koopa shows up to kidnap them, and makes a comment saying "Blame it on King Koopa", which is a joke that no longer makes sense in the edited version.

There's also a scene later in the episode where after being kidnapped, Milli Vanilli are supposed to do a private concert for Koopa's daughter, Kootie Pie (a.k.a Wendy, as she is known in the game.. the Koopa kid's names were different in the game and cartoon). Milli Vanilli point out that they have no back up band. In a rescue attempt, Mario, Luigi, Toad, and the Princess disguise themselves as a back up band to help rescue them. The joke here is supposed to be that none of them know how to play any instruments, so the music is supposed to sound bad with Milli Vanilli singing over it as they normally would. Unfortunately, this has also been changed, and oddly with the same generic music from earlier in the episode. So, the same music that everyone was excited about and dancing to at the concert is now supposed to sound horrible to everyone (except Kootie Pie, who is enjoying it).

It is true that the edited version is the one on this set. However, contrary to what another reviewer has posted, aside from the changes that I've listed above, everything else seems to be intact (at least as far as I can remember.. it has been years since I've seen this on TV). That other reviewer states that all references to Milli Vanilli are removed, and that is not true.

The name "Milli Vanilli" is mentioned frequently throughout the episode, and the Princess is even wearing a shirt that has their name on it. It is true that King Koopa at one point does refer to them as "Silly the Willies", but that's because he keeps messing up the name of the band and his kids have to keep correcting him.

Sorry for the long explanation for this one episode, but I thought this was important to explain for die hard fans of the show who remember this episode and are debating if they should get it or not.

The DVD presentation is a mixed bag. The menus of Discs 1 and 2 are nice. They are set up to look like the Mario 3 game. They feature Mario and Luigi respectively, and in both cases, it shows the character from the side, as if in the video game, and they hit a "?" mark block, causing things on the menu to change/happen when you make a selection. It is nicely set up.

Where the DVD disappoints (though, not suprisingly) is in the quality of the video. It has not been remastered, and there are even some brief parts (at least in a couple of the episodes I've watched so far) where it looks like the masters these were copied from may have been damaged to some degree. I noticed this damage issue in the final episode (or two episodes, if you count the fact that each one is made of 2 smaller stories). There are a couple of points where the screen just goes gray for a second. And it's not my personal disc, other people have had the same problem (apparently the master was indeed damaged, and from what I have heard there is nothing that Shout Factory can do about it).

The general video quality isn't suprising though, since most of the previous Shout Factory releases like the Mario Super Show and Captain N have not been remastered either. But, still, the video quality does knock down my review by a couple of stars. And the fact that the one episode has some damage is annoying.

The 3rd disc has some extra features, including character descriptions, and explanations about various aspects of the show. There is some interesting stuff, but is does get to be pretty redundant. While they are nice enough, the feature easily could have been split up and put on the first two discs. The total running time of them all doesn't seem to add up to enough to warrant a whole separate disc. I think they did this just to make it seem like you are getting more than you really are.

Still, all in all the cartoon is a lot of fun, so if you are a fan of Mario, and if you watched this show back in the day, I do recommend picking it up.

1 out of 5 stars Edited Show??? No Thanks.......2007-06-15

I appreciate the Amazon.com reviewer informing us that this show is edited. I don't see how Kootie Pie Rocks is intact with no Milli Vanill appearance; the whole episode is devoted to characters talking about Milli Vanill (Bowser calls them "Silly the Willies") & the Mario Brothers have to rescue them from Koopa Castle!!! Not seen it in ages but that and the edited music make this a no sale for me. Good thing I've got most of the episodes on tape. Hence, why would I waste my money to buy something I already have on VHS & could convert to DVD much more cheaply????

Im from England UK and these DVDs from this company are so great I have to import them! In the UK we have some Mario DVDs but they are not a collection, just random episodes and then they stop making them. Im thankful for NTSC TVs and multi-region DVD players. Its a shame there not avaliable in other regions cause I think they would sell like hotcakes. I remember this show in the UK on channel 4 on Saturday morning. I used to wake up to late and miss it at times.

4 out of 5 stars Do the Mario!.......2007-07-24

I couldn't believe it when I saw this at the store, and I had to have it right away. The best part is that I was only 6 or 7 years old when this first came on, and I could only remember 2 episodes distinctly, so the other 22 episodes are new to me. I remember not liking the live action parts, but I found out that is just because I saw 2 bad segments. 5 or 6 minutes of the show is live action, and the other 17 minutes is the cartoon story. They never have anything to do with eachother, and the cartoon is way better than the live action. The live action stuff isn't that bad though. Lou Albano as Mario and Danny Wells as Luigi have great chemistry together, and they are just as good doing the voice acting for the cartoon. All the other voice actors are good. None of the characters are annoying, but the Princess is a bit boring. Toad is my favorite, just ahead of Mario. All the characters get great lines every episode, but Mario, Toad and King Koopa get the best. Toad- "Look lady, I got 10 gold coins. They are yours if you just let me go." "It ain't over till it's over lizard lips."

Overall this wasn't one of the best shows from when I was a kid, but still fun to watch. It rarely gets too corny, and the live action segments bring a freshness to the show that can't really be matched by any other cartoon. And of course you have the music. That just tops it all off. They are constantly using the sound effects too. In one live action scene, Mario and Luigi hug, and the power up sound effect is used.

Picture quality is fine and sound is good. Special features are minimal, but there is a good 5 minute interview with Lou Albano where he talks his involvement with the show.

5 out of 5 stars HEY PAISANOS!!.......2007-06-29

Well I was soooooo happy when I found out that one of my child hood shows were hitting DVD! So I went on here and looked at the reviews. I was a little scared at first to purchase when I started to see people saying that there were no live action segments. I thought to myself if the people who put this DVD were to take that out the show would't be a show at all because the live action segments are what made the show so intresting. So finally I took the bull by the horns and just went with my gut and got it myself. I have enjoyed this totally! I am 23 now and I was a kid in the 80's who use to watch this show and was a fanatic of the game and til this day I still am a fan of Mario! Everything was in this DVD. The live action segments and the full show they even had previews of The Legend Of Zelda to add that feel like you were watching just the way it was back then. I started to scratch my head and think where people were saying that there were no live action segments. It was all there! I do recomend to buy this DVD!! You will be fully pleased totally!! I am almost done with this DVD and I still need to watch the second volume which I will be rating as well!! I brought them both as a combo.

My kids like this set. It came with a lot of episodes.

2 out of 5 stars Wow...I don't remember it being this bad..........2007-03-23

I can't believe how obnoxious this show is. Lou Albano and Danny Wells make some seriously bad Mario Bros. The live action parts are unbearably lame, and the animation is seriously ugly. And what's with the constant Mario sound effects even when it makes no sense? The jumping noise is made for just about everything (screwing something in, punching, walking, breathing...etc.) The plotlines are equally horrid - everything is a mild parody of something else: there's a Camelot one, a Butch Cassidy one, and countless others. Frankly, even the Mario Bros. thing just can't do it for me.

4 out of 5 stars Super Mario .......2007-09-14

I didn't even know there WAS a Mario cartoon, much less several seasons' worth. My kids love anything to do with Mario and Luigi and with a longish commute to school, this makes the drive much easier for my kids and me.

4 out of 5 stars Leapin' lasagna this show is good!.......2007-08-01

Mario is back for another 24 episodes. Also included are 4 bonus episodes. The 4 bonus episodes don't have the live action segments, so I don't know if they aired on TV or not. The 28 episodes included in volume 2 are just as good as volume 1. It gets pretty repetitious, but always remains fun. The dialogue is the best part. Everyone is always saying clever rhymes, and there is a lot of good corny fun. The live action segments are where it gets really corny, but Danny Wells and Lou Albano have great chemistry together and it is hard not to enjoy them.

The episode I enjoyed the most was 'Karate Koopa'. There is plenty of karate action and the ninja jokes and accents are great. "Do not give up hope grasshoppers, we go with flow, use what you know. I will now teach you most dangerous form of karate ever invented. Plum fu. Ancient style of fighting secretly passed down from plumber father to plumber son." "Luigi son, snatch washer from my hand." "It's no good, Koopa made these chains karate proof." Those are just a few of the many great lines from the Japanese master that trains Mario and Luigi. There are a few other standout episodes like 'Bad Rap' and 'Elvin Lives', but 'Karate Koopa' is by far my favorite out of the 52 episodes from the first 2 volumes.

I have seen people post that the picture quality is not good, but I didn't have any problems. There are some scratches, but the prints are not in bad condition. Most movies I watch have bad picture quality, so I guess I am just used ot it. Just don't expect it to be beautifully remastered. Sound is good. No subtitles.

The special features are very disappointing. The 4 bonus episodes are a great addition, but on volume 1 Lou Albano promised another intervew on volume 2. Well, there is no second interview. I guess I just have to hope there is an interview on volume 3.

4 out of 5 stars something good from my childhood.......2007-05-12

I used to watch this show when I was a kid, then they changed the characters and that was it for me. I'm glad to see it was available on DVD so I can share it with my kids.

5 out of 5 stars My son loves it!.......2007-03-26

I bought Super Mario Bros Volume 1 for my 9 year old son for Christmas and he liked that so much, he wanted Volume 2, which he enjoys just as much. At first, he didn't like the "live" part of the show. But as he watched each episode he now thinks the "live" portion is really funny.

5 out of 5 stars Nostalgia, video game style.......2007-01-10

When I heard that this series was being brought to DVD, my heart stopped. I could not believe that this great series was coming. I got volume 1 instantly and couldn't wait for volume 2. I was not disappointed in the least bit! This is one series you have to get if you love Mario Brothers, the cartoons based on them, or just toons from your childhood.

5 out of 5 stars Great Show!.......2007-09-07

My son loves Super Mario, and he thinks this DVD is fantastic. I enjoy it too...it's a bit of a throwback to playing the game on my original Ninendo! I definitely recommend it!

3 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not necessary.......2007-08-07

It's good, but if you have already purchased the Super Mario Bros 3 complete series there is no need to buy this item. It has no special features and all of the episodes are already on the Complete series edition.

This movie has a good and decent story for kids to watch. It is entertaining and without inmoralities. My son likes to watch it often and carries it everywhere.

5 out of 5 stars Back by popular demand if you wanna relive your child hood!.......2006-03-07

This dvd is great to own. Dic is really trying to release the classics again and that's what we need. I actually like the episode entitled, "The lost Mushroom." Indiana Joe has no face but yet he can talk. I found that funny when I was younger and I still do to this day. I also like the episode of "Robo Koopa." Have kids? Get them they're favorite bowl of something, sit them down, and put this on for them. They'll be entertained! You won't regret getting this. The hole family can dnjoy this because you don't have to worry about violence in the cartoons. It's lots of comic misschiff and loads of fun to watch and laugh at.

3 out of 5 stars Only 2 new episodes.......2005-12-30

I think the super mario bros. super show is great but I was disappointed to see that 3/5 episodes were already released on mario's greatest movie moments. The 2 episodes on this dvd that have not yet been released are Star Koopa and James Blonde. If you don't have mario's greatest movie moments then I suggest you buy it, but I still think they should have made volume 2.

5 out of 5 stars Yes they're back!.......2006-03-07

Mario, Luigi, Princess toadstool, and Toad! They are all back in this action packed DVD. Oh. Lets not forget the evil King Koopa is also back to try to capture the princess. In each episode, it is up to Mario, Luigi, and Toad to save the princess and keep the Mushroom kingdom from falling into the evil hands of King Koopa. The voices behind Mario, and Luigi are Captain lu Albanno, and Danny Wells. I like the q&a sessions on the dvd but, Andy gets a few things wrong. One of the things he doesn't mention is that Nintendo's Mr. Meomotto created the Super Mario brothers. Now how can you forget that? All in all, great dvd if you want to bring your child hood back.

4 out of 5 stars 90's and cheesy but my son loves it!.......2005-10-25

My son recently became obsessed with super mario 3 for gameboy advance. OB-SESSED. So he got a GC to amazon for his birthday and this is what he chose to get. (Much to my chagrin!) Even though the "skits" in between the cartoon segments are ridiculously cheesy and absurd, my son LOVES the cartoon portion. A MUST for any true Mario lover!

3 out of 5 stars Other DIC Cartoon.......2005-01-30

Super Mario Brother Super Show is more like The Lendge of Zelda, the Adventure of Captain Planet,Sonic The Hedgehoge even Sailor Moon The Best of 93-96 Early'' The Best of 3 Video Game Cartoon!
2 Orignal Cartoon of Captain Planet and Sailor Moon, This Movie is Rock, What a game, I Seem Super Mario Bros. Super Show in 1992 and 1993, Awsome in the Orginal Video Game!

3 out of 5 stars Good idea, but beware of edits!!.......2004-08-07

Well, it's nice to see that DiC is releasing the Mario cartoons in their original order, but if I wasn't such a Mario fanatic, and didn't already have four-fifths of the episodes on this DVD (I've been missing the first episode), I would've skipped this disc. Why? Well, for one thing, in the "interview", Andy Heyward fails to give correct credit to Shigeru Miyamoto for creating Mario. But what really cheeses me off is people thinking that these are the uncut versions of the episodes. For one thing, the live-action segments are missing the "Legend of Zelda" previews that played right after Mario's cartoon face popped up during the sketch. But even worse is that these are the edited versions of the cartoons that edit out the song remakes and replace them with instrumentals to songs from season 2 FOR NO GOOD REASON!!!! I don't know why they edited those songs out, considering they never did the same to seasons 2 or 3! If you taped all the shows during their original run in 1989, consider this a waste of money and don't buy this DVD. Otherwise, you can add four Mario adventures and a Zelda to your collection.
As for the episodes themselves:

"The Bird! The Bird!": Very good introduction.
"King Mario of Cramalot": First parody on the show; badly-done, but I like some of Bowser's dialogue.
"Butch Mario and the Luigi Kid": Better parody, and the first appearance of Mouser. I like the usage of SMB2 elements.
"Mario's Magic Carpet": Very poor. Full of plot holes and mistakes.
"The Ringer": Worth it to see Ganon phantom-punching.

There you have it. But don't listen to the reviewers who think these episodes are unedited - if you taped the shows back in 1989, or collected all the Kid Klassics VHSs, and you have a DVD recorder, do not buy this DVD!

5 out of 5 stars Ah, Mario Memories.......2004-08-05

Remember about ten or tweleve years ago, there was the Mario Brothers trying to rescue Princess Toadstool from the evil King Koopa? Well, now we can relive those Mario memories in the first five episodes of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! As most of us may know, this collection contains the live-action sequences starring Captain Lou Albano, as Mario, and Danny Wells as Luigi. I have always been a big fan of the Mario Bros. and will continue to be one for as long as the franchise will go on. They're funny, charming, and just plain fun. If you wanna relive your Mario memories, then I say get this DVD set of the first five advenuters of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (Well, OK the first four adventure, the last episode contains The Legend of Zelda.) Which of course, was apart of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show back in the day. This collection also contains an interview with Andy Heywood (creator Inspector Gadget) and gives some information about the Mario Bros. cartoon. If only there could be more Mario Bros. cartoons. Maybe in the future we could only pray they would come out with new adventures. They did it with Sonic and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Why not Super Mario?
