Philo Beddoe (Clint Eastwood) is back in this sequel to Every Which Way but Loose, once again brawling to make ends meet and just trying to manage his life with a crazy mother (Ruth Gordon), a dimwitted best friend (Geoffrey Lewis) and, of course, Clyde the Orangutan. He's had enough of this life, but when a mobster (Harry Guardino) comes along to make him an offer he can't refuse, Philo must use his wits as well as his fists to get himself out of yet another jam. The humor is thin and sporadic (though Gordon is in fine form), and Eastwood has since gone on to better things; but a film that features a brawl with a monkey and a motorcycle gang can't be all bad. --Robert Lane

Description

Sequel to "Every Which Way but Loose," in which Eastwood is back as bare-knuckle brawler Philo Beddoe. With his 165-pound orangutan pal Clyde, Philo is lured out of retirement by a new contender, and mobsters kidnap his girl to ensure he'll turn up for the showdown.

5 out of 5 stars Great for a gift.......2007-09-13

I purchased this for my dad. It sure made his day. His favourite actor in his favourite kind of movie. He was smiling all day. I also bought him some others with Clint Eastwood. I guess he is reliving his YOUTH haha.

1 out of 5 stars I don't like snakes!.......2007-06-15

The movie was OK until the scene with the rattle snake killing the otter. That was completely uncalled for and ruined it for me. I can't comment on the rest of the film because I stopped watching it after that. Shame on the producers of this film for exploiting animals in such a cruel way.

5 out of 5 stars Positive Feedback.......2007-05-12

I ordered this product and another of the same type movie, and I was pleased at the timely arrival of the items, the easy process for ordering the DVD's and the overall cost of the two items ordered.

4 out of 5 stars great oldies.......2007-05-10

4 out of 5 stars Better than the Original .......2007-05-08

This comedy is one of those rare Sequels that actually outshines the Original. This early 1980's film "Any Which Way You Can" is the follow - up to the very succesful late 1970's box office hit "Every Which Way But Loose". I actually saw the picture in the theatre when it was released. Clint Eastwood returns as the likable Philo Bedoe. Geoffrey Lewis is back also as Clint's best friend. Ruth Gordon is in top form once again as "Ma". Sondra Locke is also back and in this film she is the one trying to patch up things with Clint when she dumped him towards the end of the first film. And let's not forget of course 'Clyde" who is Clint's pet Orangutan and is the real star of the film and provides the bulk of laughs and entertainment. And also that goofy motorcycle gang is once again in chase of revenge on Clint and his friends. This sequel is Funnier and is a little more polished than the first film . When clint decides to retire from bare fisted fighting , a Mobster Harry Guardino offers Clint a deal he cannot refuse. That is one last fight against his fighter "William Smith who is a muscle bounded but overly polite brawler . I liked Smith in this role , i really thought he did a good job. All in all the plot is of course predictable but the final fight between Eastwood and Smith is the best part and "Clyde" is what keeps this film going and yes at times it is a little silly but it still is lovable all these years later.
