4 out of 5 stars The way it was meant to see.......2007-08-21

I'm so glad this flick came out on Blu ray disc. The picture is better than ever and it's mixed in 5.1 surround. A masterpiece in it's own right, Bruce Lee delivers his most personal film. Loaded with bonus features(over 3.5 hours worth). This film deserves repeated viewings and the bonus material is actually worth watching. Well worth the price of admission!

4 out of 5 stars Bruce Li makes the film his own.......2007-08-21

Although the movie is dated due to technology and the standard story, Bruce Li always makes the film fun to watch. The extras on the dvd make the blu-ray version worth the money. If you are a fan of Bruce Li you must get this dvd, and the picture quality is great for big screens.

5 out of 5 stars Bruce Lee at his best.......2007-08-08

I have to say that this is the best looking version of Enter the Dragon available. Picture quality is great looking and is probably good as its going to get. Just don't expect this movie to look as crystal clear as the newer movies. Enter the Dragon is a 34 year old movie so don't demand High definition perfection. Sound quality is very nice with a noticeable improvement over the standard DVD. I am a big Bruce Lee fan and Enter the Dragon along with the many special features included in this Blu-ray DVD are a true treasure. There are interviews with Bruce, film footage from "Game of Death", and many other interesting features. Even though Enter the Dragon is a 34 year old movie its still better than the current action films of today. Had Bruce Lee lived I believe he would still be making great movies today. If you own a Blu-ray player or your a fan of Bruce Lee buy this movie today. May you rest in peace Bruce knowing that your family, friends, many devoted students, and fans miss you everyday.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing how good it looks.......2007-08-03

I recently watched Enter The Dragon on the Voom HD Kung-Fu network, and it looked relatively good, but not great.

The Blu-Ray version obviously got a lot more attention, care, and cleanup. It is by far the best looking and sounding version I've ever seen of the movie. It sounds like the bass was tweaked quite a bit, because whenever Bruce would hit one of his signature punches, my subwoofer put out one heck of a thump. It sounded great, if not a little over the top.

Some of the signature grain of the original is still there, but the images are much more crisp and sharp than any other version.

Definitely worth it for the Bruce Lee fans out there.

5 out of 5 stars Boards do not hit back!.......2007-06-27

This was a true treat! I'm a huge Bruce Lee fan and this is the best I've ever seen him! Blu-Ray HD truly did this timeless classic justice!

The last film completed by Bruce Lee before his untimely death, Enter the Dragon was his entrée into Hollywood. The American-Hong Kong coproduction, shot in Asia by American director Robert Clouse, stars Lee as a British agent sent to infiltrate the criminal empire of bloodthirsty Asian crime lord Han (Shih Kien) through his annual international martial arts tournament. Lee spends his days taking on tournament combatants and nights breaking into the heavily guarded underground fortress, kicking the living tar out of anyone who stands in his way. The mix of kung fu fighting (choreographed by Lee himself) and James Bond intrigue (the plot has more than a passing resemblance to Dr. No) is pulpy by any standard, but the generous budget and talented cast of world-class martial artists puts this film in a category well above Lee's primitive Hong Kong productions. Unfortunately he's off the screen for large chunks of time as American maverick competitors (and champion martial artists) John Saxon and Jim Kelly take center stage, but once the fighting starts Lee takes over. The tournament setting provides an ample display of martial arts mastery of many styles and climaxes with a huge free-for-all, but the highlight is Lee's brutal one-on-one with the claw-fisted Han in the dynamic hall-of-mirrors battle. Lee narrows his eyes and tenses into a wiry force of sinew, speed, and ruthless determination. --Sean Axmaker

5 out of 5 stars Too Good - A Must Have Classic.......2007-08-26

I used to hate kung fu movies as a kid, but years later after having never seen this film, I must say I was thoroughly entertained! The story really drives this film (in it's originality) and the actors are all truly amazing; great heroes, great villains and a deadly tournament!

The extras on this disc are numerous and make for quite a tribute to Mr. Lee, and the Lee legacy. The transfer is astonishing for its age (I love how grand it feels as the airplane flies overhead in the opening - as only HD can present) the soundtrack is very nice...a little action, a little orient and a little funk!

Mr. Hans hands are a bit cheesy and unmenacing, but I imagine that if they were aware of what a masterpiece they were creating they surely would have put forth a little more effort in some of these minor details, but in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter.

"Enter the Dragon" on HD DVD is an excellent way to take a look at the past when you're feeling nostalgic with all of its outdoor imagery from a variety of locations - this film has some wonderful shots. It's also a nice way to just have a good time when you're in the mood for a classic action movie!

I love this film and have viewed it multiple times. I can't say enough good things about it, and it truly is a shame that Mr. Lee didn't live long enough to add a few more of these gems to Hollywood history - he really was an amazing talent.

I highly recommend this film.

5 out of 5 stars Just like when I saw it in the big theater brand new!.......2007-07-28

Watching this historical film in HD-DVD is amazing! The colors pop, the clarity is magnificent! I saw this film several times as a teenager in the movie theaters when it first came out. I've bought it on VHS and later on DVD over the years. But it never had the impact it did on the big screen from actual FILM. But this copy is amazing, it recaptures the genuine magic the film had on the big screen. If you're a Bruce Lee fan, you HAVE to get this HD-DVD! The extras are also pretty spectacular. Brenda's interview clips are very nice, especially since they were done for this HD-DVD, and are not simply repeats of other interviews us fans have already seen a million times. She gives new info I didn't know, and I'm the biggest Bruce Lee fan on the planet!

5 out of 5 stars Matial Arts Fan - You Gotta See This.......2007-05-07

I have been a martial arts fan forever and have owned a variety of copies of this movie - including just about every special edition sold. I was skeptical of buying the HD version because some of the prior "special remastered" versions retained the grainy nature of the original videotape versions and to be honest - I assumed it was grainy on the master copy and so not something that could be fixed. I could not have been more wrong.

I don't care if you have seen this movie 1,000 times, watching it on HD is like seeing it for the first time. Some of the costumes that always looked black in other versions are proven to dark navy or dark brown - WOW.

The detail in this verion is amazing and none of the earlier recurring graininess is present. You can debate whether the film is outdated - but let's face it, the basic plot of this movie has been copied so many times that people coming to this for the first time will think it is just following the old martial arts movie format - NOT TRUE - this movie set the format and everyone else has been copying it ever sense.

If you enjoy martial arts movies, this version of Enter the Dragon is a must own.

5 out of 5 stars " A Must Have" for the Bruce Lee fan.......2007-02-07

I was not disappointed at all with the transfer of this classic to hd-dvd. I was very impressed with the color and crispness and the audio surprised me as well! This is a must have for the die-hard Bruce Lee fan and a casual fan of the genre will not be disappointed as well. A huge Bruce Lee fan all my life i can't wait for the release of his other movies in hd-dvd or blu-ray.

5 out of 5 stars Super Feature Packed, Must Have.......2007-01-05

There is not a single HD DVD on the market with as many comentaries and featurettes as this movie. It will take you several evenings to finish it all. If you are even slightly interested in documentaries or history, you will find much of the additional material interesting, especially the interview with Bruce's Wife.

The HD transfer is very good. Considerable time was spent removing film artifacts and making sure the colors were bright and rich. This is how HD DVD should be. Due to the very poor soundtrack from the original movie, the 5.1 mix is mediocre. However, it is to be expected, and does not take away from the HD film experience.

Overall, if you have found your way to this Movie's page on Amazon, then you are probably interested enough for this HD DVD movie to be a must buy.

4 out of 5 stars When the world's in trouble there's only one man to call:Rambo.......2005-12-30

Rambo and the Force of Freedom fights against the S.A.V.A.G.E. evil forces led by General Warhawk and his hechmen who tries to impose their will and control different countries in the world.

The Pentagon has Colonel Samuel Trautman and the Force of Freedom in charge of dealing with all situations that compromizes the world's peace.

Expert mechanic Turbo, master of disguise Kat and ninja White Dragon helps Rambo on his tasks against Sgt. Havoc and an all sort of villanins and mercenaries.

I used to watch this when I was a kid and I like it.Graphic violence is show but noone is hurt(audiencies are 5 and up).

    Overall a great entertainment.

3 out of 5 stars in reply to the previous guy about two episodes.......2005-09-16

This series reminds me of G.I. Joe with explosions and no deaths. It is great to have 11 episodes on one disc. There are two problems I have with this disc.
    1. two episodes are messed up with interference.
    2. episodes are out of order, especially when you only get two episodes (1 on each disc) of the five part "Tierra Libre" story. Also, the last title on the back of this DVD is not the title on the disc.
To the person who only got two episodes, I feel badly for you since my DVD has eleven. Try again, and see if they can send you a complete one.

1 out of 5 stars What a Rip Off - Only 2 episodes per disc........2005-09-02

What a Rip Off - Only 2 episodes per disc.
I am not only a big fan of the Rambo animated series, I also had the chasnce to work on it. So, when I found out the episodes were coming out on dvd, I pre-ordered them without researching more info on the discs set for release. The discs list about 11 episodes, but only have 2. I thought this must be a mistake somehow. I then played the disc in a few players and still only episodes appeared. A friend asked me did I really belive that 11 episodes would be fit on one disc if not double-sided? Which this is not. I have returned both volumes 1 - 2 for refunds. What a Rip Off!

5 out of 5 stars "An honorable man does what he must.".......2005-08-29

Gather `round the ol' DVD player and get ready for a second batch of random Rambo episodes from our friends at Lions Gate. Everybody loves ninjas, and this collection is chock-full of ninja action...along with a few pirates, a magician, and a voodoo priestess thrown in for good measure. What's more, Transformers fans will enjoy hearing the voice of legendary Autobot leader Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) during several of these Rambo adventures. This thrill-packed potpourri includes episodes 20, 41, 19, 35, 49, 57, 24, 28, 44, 23, and 5 from the classic animated series. It does NOT include episode 4, `Raise the Yamato', as the back of the case incorrectly states. Unfortunately, Volume 2 suffers from some much more noticeable video abnormalities than Volume 1, the worst of which being the persistent flickering of some nasty horizontal lines across the screen during the first half of `Mephisto's Magic.' It's enough to make you exclaim (as Turbo does in episode 23), "My stomach feels like it just crossed the Atlantic with Columbus!" Well, at least the background music (from composer Jerry Goldsmith) is always present, which is more than I can say for `Thundercats Season One Volume One'...but I digress. Will you enjoy Rambo Volume 2 in spite of its flaws?--Count on it! `Cause any disc featuring a scene in which twin ninjas do battle on top of a moving van is a must have; and any cartoon featuring a heavily-armed character named Mad Dog who zooms around on a motorcycle shouting things like, "Let's hit `em with lead `til they're good and dead," has GOT to be cool! But Rambo is educational too, and I'll prove it by closing this review with what I like to call...RAMBO's Words of Wisdom:
"Civilization has its advantages, but if it weren't for the wilderness what good would it be?"
"A brother's love is a precious and sacred trust."
"Doing my job well is its own reward."
"Parents are a lot more forgiving than most kids think."
"Just because somebody tells you something doesn't mean it's true. You always have to check the facts for yourself."
"Smoke isn't as dense near the floor."
"Voodoo is nothing but a lot of hocus-pocus."
"Dogs can be a good judge of bad people."
"Bullies must be stopped--no matter who they are, or what the cost."
"It all comes down to teamwork--no matter what you're doin'."
"Freedom is the one gift that's for all or none."

4 out of 5 stars Classic 80's Cartoon on DVD.......2005-06-23

This cartoon is a lot of fun - it's a more gentle, talkative Rambo than the movies, but the theme music and death-defying stunts are still there. There's three main problems with these discs (this and Volume 1):

    1. No special features (unless you count "Full Screen Version" and "2.0 Dolby Digital Audio" as they do on the package)
    2. There's an error on the episode listing on the Vol 2 package: "Raise the Yamato" should be "The Taking of Tierra Libre"
    3. The episodes are in semi-alphabetic order on the disks, rather than the much more logical order that they aired. This is especially problematic since the first 5 episodes of the series were a 5-parter, and only parts 3 and 5 are on these sets.

Despite the problems, I recommend this dvd because the series is so much fun to watch.

2 out of 5 stars Average at best, but Dragon Lee fans will for sure love this one.......2007-08-08

Dragon Lee stars as a young man who meets up with his long lost brother (played by Cassanova Wong) and decides to help an escort service. He keeps getting robbed and finds out that his brother is behind the robberies. He fights his evil brother when he finds out he is behind the robberies, but his kung fu isn't good enough. Dragon is forced to leave town and he trains really hard so he can come back and defeat his brother.

The movie is like any other Godfrey Ho movie. The story is as basic as it gets, and the movie has all sorts of odd cheesy touches to it. There are not enough fight scenes, but there are a couple of good ones at the end.

The fighting is a lot of fun. It is very sloppy and cheesy, but there is just so much energy put into it. Guys are always flying around doing kicks and flips and Dragon Lee is trying to do Bruce Lee impersonations every chance he gets. Dragon Lee's movements look pretty silly, but you can tell he has some talent. Dragon Lee could have been much more successful if he had worked with better fight choreographers. Cassanova Wong looks spectacular in this movie. Kim Won Jin and Hwang Jang Lee are probably the only ones in kung fu cinema history that can stand up to Cassanova in kicking abilites. He is the fastest kicker I have ever seen. And you don't know cheesy martial arts action until you have seen a Dragon Lee movie. In one scene he finds out his opponent's special power is located on his belly button. The same thing actually shows up in Revenge of the Drunken Master.

      2/5

      3 out of 5 stars Great Action...Hmmm?.......2007-03-19

Yeah this movie did have great action in it, but my reason for a 3'star rating was because of the picture quality and editing miscues, but overall it's pretty good! Plus maybe i need to more movies of Dragon Lee or Fake'Lee...he's decent with his skillz but i still say the end fight with tha Master', he should have lost! They could've thrown Bruce Li' in there and he would've made a better showing ( more charisma)! This movie should be remastered to get a better rating....but a good pickup for true kungfu fans!!!

4 out of 5 stars Old' skool" Kung Fu!!.......2006-07-02

Based on the hype, right here on amazon, I rushed out the get this flick, and yes,,I do agree it really is an amazing old school performace by Dragon lee,,aka,,Casanova lee. I really enjoyed this from the start to finish,,,there were really no boaring parts. This is definately a must have,,,you can't go wrong!!

5 out of 5 stars LIKE FISTS OF FURY AKA BIG BOSS BUT BETTER.......2006-05-31

yo! when you watch this movie you might think this is a ripoff of the "fists of fury aka the big boss" and it kinda is but with a little more flavor to it. instead of bruce lee you have dragon lee 6 years later. he like bruce lee takes on an army of lackeys to get to the traitorous boss who deceives the people played korean superkicker casanova wong. the action inb this movie is great but 1 descrepency they look like they are not hitting each other and the typical godfrey ho soundbytes. the battle between dragon lee and marty chu is kinda entertaining because marty chu seems to be a great hand specialist much like tsui siu keung but not nearly as talented. dragon lee vs. casanova wong is worth the price of admission alone. i mean its kicks against kicks galore. and you can dragon lee in the beginning having fun beating down the great lee hoi sang so pick this one up and dvd features, picture, sound quality is great.

5 out of 5 stars Dragon Lee is my [man]!!.......2001-08-09

The first time I went to N.Y. C. Time Square was when I was little, and my dad took me to see two Dragon Lee flix. He is mad crazy!Built like Arnold and with Bruce's face.Dude makes these weird face expressions.he's off the hook. So I can understand why the Wu Tang family would put Dragon Lee in they line up. All the flix I've seen with him have been wild, including this one.He fights this snake fist dude, and a iron Belly master and other strange styles. RZA talks this up before the flick. It's a crazy flick, but you'll really like it. Bring some friends over and kick back with Dragon Lee!!Peace!!

5 out of 5 stars Greatest Martial Arts Film Ever Made.... Still.......2006-10-25

This movie started the martial arts film explosion in the US. Bruce Lee's skills were far above any other martial artist that followed him. It was various derivations from his original ideas for most things that happened later in the martial arts in America. Quoting Dana White of the UFC "Bruce started MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)." Years before it was figured out. First to teach non-chinese kung fu in the US. First to use real martial artist as villians in fight films. First to do a arm-bar to end a fight on film in the Shaolin Temple no less in this movie! (20 years before UFC.) It was his original idea later turned into the popular television show Kung-Fu.
Anyway, this movie was easily his best film and was his launching pad to post humorous super stardom in the US.

5 out of 5 stars Great movie, awesome action.......2003-10-10

Lots of martial arts. Theres a tournament, so of course there's going to be alot. Basically though there is one thing that makes it so awesome. Bruce Lee. He is so cool. Tons of people get killed.

The plot is he is a secret agent, britain or something. He goes in to find out why people have been dieing, like girls have been getting killed or something. The real cool thing is that Bruce Lee isn't up against a huge dude who can beat him in one punch. Noone can even compare to Bruce Lee and his fighting.

The action is plentiful, some comedy too. Like, "Wheres your uniform?" Anyways, I love the movie, and the special eddition is cool.

The action rules! He kicked that one guy so hard, you had to be there! to like believe it.

5 out of 5 stars a good buy for the martial arts fan.......2002-12-04

The best movie that Bruce Lee every made, and even includes scenes that were cut from the original when the movie was first shown. Is still a classic in the martial arts realm, but is a good movie for anybody to watch.
Has a good plot, action, and good writing that would have made a hit in the movie theatres today.
With your purchase, you will receive a CD with music tracks from the movie, the DVD movie itself, with trailers and a short interview with Linda Lee Cadwell, his wife, some posters from the movie, and a movie still from the movie itself in a special frame.
Is a great gift for the martial arts fan.

      5 out of 5 stars Brilliant.......2001-09-12

After buying this collectors edition set i feel i have spent my money very wisely. The DVD itself has a great interview with Bruce Lee which I had only seen brief clips of before and it was very imformative. The film itself, again as you all know is one of Bruce Lee's best, only slight draw back is that it is a double sided DVD but this you can put up with. The extras inside the box are great, the book on Enter The Dragon was again very imformative also the pictures, postcards etc were all very done.

This is a must buy for Bruce Lee fans .

2 out of 5 stars Dreadful DVD Quality.......2004-12-22

First things first: this quadruple feature does not, I repeat NOT star Bruce Lee. The films included star a host of amusingly sub-par Lee imitators that sprung up after his death (Bruce Li, Bruce Le, Bruce Leung, Dragon Lee).
"The Dragon Lives Again" is an unforgettable movie that was the reason I ordered this disc. The premise: Bruce Lee (Leung) is in hell, where he becomes the enemy of a group of famous characters (James Bond, Zatoichi, Dracula, The Exorcist, The Godfather, Emmanuelle) that want to overthrow the emperor of the underworld. Along the way, he befriends the One Armed Swordsman and...Popeye the sailor! A veritable cornucopia of copyright infringements, this is just about the most enjoyably bad Bruceploitation movie you'll ever see.
"Bruce Lee: The Star of All Stars" ("Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger") tells the story of one of Bruce Lee's pupils (Li) who wants to unveil the truth about Lee's death. His quest sees him meeting Bruce's mistress, getting tangled with the mob, and even engaging in some Bruce Lee-inspired comedy relief moments.
"Enter the Game of Death" is the best movie on the set. A shameless ripoff of Bruce Lee's uncompleted "Game of Death," it's packed to the gills with surreal and exciting fight scenes. Though Bruce Le is no Lee in charisma, his fighting skills are decent and the action scenes are among the best in a bruceploitation movie. Also starring Bolo Yeung.
I didn't watch Dragon Lee's "Mission for the Dragon." Sue me.
These two double-sided DVDs from VideoAsia are absolutely horrible. "Enter the Game of Death" is widescreen, but it has a jittery picture that makes it nearly unwatchable. "Dragon Lives Again" is in severely cropped and faded full screen that makes the already lacklustre fight scenes that much worse. "Bruce Lee: Star of Stars" is actually in its original Chinese language track...but the subtitles are faded and constantly run off the screen, making the action sometimes impossible to follow! Argh!
The only special feature is something called "InstaAction," which allows you to watch the movies' action scenes skipping past all that pesky plot.

      2 out of 5 stars BRUCEploitation...PERIOD........2004-09-23

What can I say...? The only plus signs about this particular 2-pack are the fact that it features one of my childhood fav's, Enter the Game of Death(which, in my opinion, outshined many of the other attempts to present Bruce Lee's true vision for Game of Death) and the Bruce Li film is HOTTT because for the most part he's being HIMSELF and the subtitles and original language give it a certain authenticity that an english dubbed version wouldn't have. What left me P.O.'d was the quality(ie, Enter the Game of Death looked like it filmed during an earthquake and the plot structure wasn't there until Bruce Le got to the Tower of Death...before that, Bruce fights Bolo Yeung in the forest, then they're in the ring and Bruce breaks the guy's neck, then they "fight to the death" by the tower? Gimme a break.) The other films were BRUCE ploitation at worst and not worth mentioning. My advice...save your money and get a hold of Chinese Connection 2, the Fist of Fury Legacy, Exit the Dragon...Enter the Tiger, & Game of Death II.

1 out of 5 stars This is not even Bruce Lee!!.......2004-07-19

Take a look, it is a Chinese fake. That is NOT Bruce Lee. It is Bruce Le. A pathetic scamming of a great Chinese-American!

1 out of 5 stars Hopefully, this will be a good DVD.......2004-05-04

Operative word is "HOPE" as I doubt they will release Bruce Lee's films in 5.1 or clean up the picture, even though it is good on other Regions. Let's just hope this DVD has a better picture cleared of all defects, Dolby Digital 5.1, the FULL movie, and some extras. Bruce Lee deserves a hell of a lot more than he gets with these cheap Region 1 DVDs.

      4 out of 5 stars Bruceploitation At It's Finest!.......2007-02-08

I actually own both versions of this movie. This film was originally released as "Bruce Lee Star of Stars" in Cantonese(which can be found on the Return of the Dragon Pack with 3 other such Bruceploitation flicks), but for the purpose of marketing and promoting Ho Chuong Tao(Bruce Li) in the U.S., it was re-cut, dubbed over and released as "Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger." Predictably, in either case...the film begins with Tiger(Bruce Li) meeting up with Bruce Lee(Bruce Li) and Betty Ting Pei during a movie shoot about 3 days before his passing. On the set he's having multiple headaches, tells Tiger about mysterious phone calls, and deems Tiger as his successor in the event of his death. In either version, Bruce's death leads to Tiger's own investigation into what turns out to be Bruce's murder and his findings lead him into a mafia-like conspiracy that ends with Tiger battling the Baron, who lures him into a duel of the death by kidnapping Betty Ting Pei and his(Tiger's) girlfriend and holding them hostage.

Honestly, the only thing that cheese up the film as that they're exploiting the mysterious circumstances surrounding Bruce Lee's death and incorporate the use of actual, real-life personalities into the plot, meaning we see the fictionalized torturing of Betty Ting Pei my syndicate thugs, meetings between Tiger and Betty Ting Pei, pictures in her apartment with love notes from Bruce Lee, a mysterious recording of a supposed phone conversation about Bruce's murder, etc. However, the action is there, and I was particularly impressed with the quality of product. This one's a keeper not just because of the action, but because it's a 2006 re-issue and the best, remastered Bruce Li flick since Anchor Bay re-released Goodbye Bruce Lee:His Last Game of Death(Bruce Li). Only thing is that you can't fast fwd and there are no chapter selections, but overall, good movie, good quality, just falls short of a 5 in my book for being Bruceploitation as opposed to an authentic Ho Chuong Tao production.
