5 out of 5 stars Great Movie but not long enough!.......2007-08-08

This is one of the better Dragon Ball Z Movies. It also has really great
Music in the American Dub of the film.

So some years have passed since the previous film. The Big Gete Star
is covering New Namek while Robots are enslaving the Namekians. The
Z Fighters come to new namek to save the day but they meet up with an
old enemy: Cooler! Except for this time Cooler is in a robotic form!
Watch the movie to find out what happens! Plus Vegeta appears in
this film!

I only have one complaint about this film: the length. This film was
way too short. It was only 45 minutes long! Wish it could have
been longer, but it was still awesome!

4 out of 5 stars Great Follow Up.......2007-07-18

After their fierce battle concluded on planet Earth, Goku finished off Cooler by firing a Kamehameha at him that launched him into the sun. Little did Goku know that Cooler had fused with a machine planet known as the Big Gete Star, which grants him the ability to make limitless copies of himself, so long as he can use other planets as an energy source. Cooler now sets his sights on New Namek, and it's now up to the Z Fighters to protect the Namekians and beat Cooler once and for all.

The Return of Cooler, a direct follow up to Cooler's Revenge, brings Frieza's brother back into the spotlight and marks the first appearance of Vegeta in a Dragonball Z movie. This time, Cooler has gone mechanical much like Frieza himself had done, only with more unique powers at his disposal. This film is a great successor to the DBZ movie franchise and truly builds up steam for the rest of them. Having Vegeta appear was a great addition as well, as his character is a sharp contrast to Goku's and gives this feature a more diverse cast. Watching the two Super Saiyans duke it out with millions of Metal Coolers is worth the price of admission in itself. The rest of the movie is well paced and does well to create a satisfying climax. The music is a large improvement over the last two, and is not as distracting. The English voices are what you would expect from FUNimation, so if you're a fan of the Japanese version, this will not convert you by any means.

If you're a Dragonball Z fan, I shouldn't need to tell you to check this one out. If you've seen Cooler's Revenge, you should watch this anyway to see how the showdown with Cooler finally ends. Definately worth a purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Action wise a lot better than Cooler's Revenge........2007-03-20

The Return of Cooler is actually one of the better DBZ movies as far as action is concerned. Cooler survives his last encounter with Goku and is recreated as a robot. He attempts to conquer New Namek and Goku and gang rushes to stop him. The action starts right away. Piccolo gets a good amount of fight time. The stand out battle is definetly when Goku battles Cooler with Vegetas help. The plots in the DBZ movies are lackluster at best but its the action why people watch this and it does deliver. The only thing this movie is missing is a good soundtrack, like Cooler's Revenge or Bardock. Anyway this is still a very good movie. I wont go into the continuity holes of this one. Anyone who's a fan of DBZ will right away notice the timeline error in this one. In any case it still wont heart to add this to your collection. This is worth a watch even if your not a fan.

5 out of 5 stars As far as Dragon Ball Z movies goes, this one is on top.......2006-10-13

The Return Of Cooler (1991.) The sixth Dragon Ball Z movie.

INTRODUCTION:
The Dragon Ball Z series is one of the finest animes out there, as any fan of Japanese animation will tell you. The series has a "love it or hate it" reputation, but those fans who get into the series are totally immersed by it for a number of reasons. Young people love the series for the fast-paced action and adventure, while older fans enjoy it for the sheer number of characters, and the way they are developed and evolve over the course of time. It's no wonder the series is considered Akira Toriyama's magnum opus, and by far the best of the three Dragon Ball series. When Toei animation made Dragon Ball into an anime, they didn't copy Toriyama's mangas verbatim. They added in many sagas and plot elements not in the manga, often as a result so that the manga and anime were released at the same pace. Toei even created movies based on the series! There were thirteen movies, two television specials, and one OVA/OAV. While not usually canon to the storyline, they are an undeniable part of the Dragon Ball Z franchise that can't be ignored.

OVERVIEW:
Dragon Ball Z Movie Six, The Return Of Cooler, was released in Japan on March 7, 1992. The movie was first released in America on August 13, 2002. It is the sixth of the thirteen Dragon Ball Z movies. The original Japanese title translates to something like "Clash! Ten Billion Powerful Warriors!"

THE STORY:
Goku has defeated Cooler (as chronicled in the previous movie, Cooler's Revenge.) Or so he thought. Just when Cooler was about to die, his body fused with a "living planet" called the Big Gete Star which was in the vicinity. As such, Cooler gained control of this satellite. By absorbing the raw materials from planets and such, he can create an endless supply of sentry robots and metallic clones of himself. The next planet he plans to use the resources from is New Namek. As such, Goku and his friends take a Capsule Corporation ship to New Namek to help in the struggle against the new evil. Unfortunately, they may have gotten in over their heads this time.

REVIEW OF STORY:
The Dragon Ball Z movies are hit and miss. No fan will deny it. However, the sixth movie is one of the true jewels of the bunch. The action sequences are absolutely spectacular, and the animation shines through and through. It's definitely notable for having one of the more unique plots of the movies. Most of the Dragon Ball Z movies have a rather generic "Goku's friends get beat up so Goku gets mad, kills all the villain's henchmen, and kills the villain with a Genki Dama/Spirit Bomb" plot. Not this time around. Rather, our heroes are sent on a mission to eliminate a villain with the ability to create an endless army. And, at long last, Vegeta finally appears in a movie! Took them long enough to put him in one! I'm not exactly sure why the hell Oolong and Yajirobe were brought along for the mission, but they do result in some of the funnier scenes in the movie. Their comic relief nicely balances things out, resulting in one of the finest movies of the series. If I had to pick my favorite Dragon Ball Z movie, it would be a tough call, but this would be one of the likely candidates.

OFFICIAL?
I don't consider any of the movies official to the Dragon Ball Z storyline, since Akira Toriyama himself didn't create them, not to mention the fact they don't usually fit into the storyline. This is no exception. The movie definitely takes place after the first Cooler movie, already making its place in the timeline questionable. It doesn't seem to fit properly into the standard series timeline, though it is possible this and its predecessor film DID take place in the Future Trunks alternate future timeline. That would be my best guess on this one. But as for happening in the real, normal timeline, I consider it unofficial.

REVIEW OF DVD:
All of FUNimation's Dragon Ball Z DVDs are pretty much the same as far as content goes. There is no bonus content, unless you consider the obligatory trailers on the DVD to be bonus material. And honestly, I could have lived without them. Some more recent DVDs have character profiles, though these are lacking and could have been written better. Why couldn't get get interviews with cast and crew, or trivia/facts, something like that? FUNimation has a lot of room to improve on the DVDs.

THE DUBBED VERSION:
Lots of people tend to bash FUNimation's dub of the Dragon Ball Z series? Why? It's inaccurate and sometimes just plain stupid. They can do good dubbed versions for plenty of other animes, such as Full Metal Alchemist, but every time they've tried dubbing Toriyama's classic, they butcher it to hell. The nu metal they put in as background music only further defiles the original series. Stick with the uncut subbed track.

OVERALL:
Overall this is a good package. An excellent Dragon Ball Z movie, but FUNimation still needs to work on their DVDs, and learn how to make a decent dubbed version of the show. But the original uncut Japanese subtitled version is here, so that makes up for a lot of the little issues. It's tough to recommend the Dragon Ball Z movies due to their non-canon nature and the fact that they are often hit and miss, but this is one of the best. If you're only going to buy one or a few of the movies, this would be a fine choice (although you may want to see the first Cooler film first to get the whole story.)

EDITION NOTES:
Two versions of this were released: Edited and Uncut. Obviously, buy uncut. The DVD isn't as readily available as it once was, but is still fairly easy to find. Used stores that buy anime DVDs, online and in-person, should have it.

5 out of 5 stars A little better then the first Cooler movie.......2005-07-01

The gang decideds to take a trip to the planet Namek little did they know the Nameks were all taken as prisoners by the evil brother of Frieza [yes thats right Cooler is back] when Goku was fighting cooler that fight was pretty good they DBZ was going back to the action that was very fast meanwhile Krillen, Gohan, & Piccolo were battling three big robots machines. Vegeta arrives later on to fight by Goku's side weather he like's it or not. It turn out their are over hundereds of cyborgs that looks like Cooler how did they survive well go see it.

4 out of 5 stars Great DVD but a pointless episode.......2004-04-01

This DVD is a good one and I really like the fact that someone old comes back and becomes a major character

    The episodes included are
    -A New Gaurdian
    -Dende's Dragon
    -The Puzzle of General Toa
The last one is completely pointless and kind of annoying but the first two are great.

Sinewy, sleek, and oozing charisma, Bruce Lee brought sex appeal to the martial arts genre, dominating even the most cliché-riddled adventures with his mix of good-humored geniality and focused intensity. His first film, the low-budget Hong Kong adventure Fists of Fury (as it was titled in the U.S.), is exactly that: a raw, rough-edged revenge drama of a country boy who uncovers a heroin-smuggling ring. Yet the film comes alive when Lee pounces into action, his wiry, well-muscled frame erupting in lightning moves. His follow-up, The Chinese Connection, keeps the revenge theme going for a tale of a kung fu student who avenges his teacher's death at the hands of a Japanese rival. The international success of both films enabled the increasingly ambitious Lee to write and direct his own feature, Return of the Dragon, a more-comic tale of a Chinese country boy who travels to Rome to help out cousins under the thumb of local mobsters. Though filled with excellent martial arts bouts, all choreographed by Lee, the highlight is a death match between Lee and karate champion Chuck Norris in the Roman Colosseum. Lee died before completing his last feature, Game of Death, and a rather unconvincing double runs around much of the film between footage of the real Lee, but the climax features an impressive bout with basketball star and Lee student Kareem Abdul-Jabar. Though a cut above most martial arts movies of the period, these are no masterpieces, but then who watches a Bruce Lee film for the story? In these films, plot is simply there for the scenes between Lee's amazing fight sequences. The documentary Bruce Lee: The Legend completes the collection. --Sean Axmaker

5 out of 5 stars THE MASTER COLLECTION OF BRUCE LEE.......2006-05-16

i bought this set at a used dvd store for $15.00 and was very happy to find it. watching it i was struck by how much talent and energy this man had! had he lived he would have one of the most bankable stars in the world.to be sure these are low buget action movies, but mr. lee brought a style to them that no other actor could have brought, his every move was a graceful and well thought out move, even just walking down the street. these are all the films he made(except for enter the dragon which he made for warner bros.) and he shines in them all,(game of death the movie he was making when he died is very weak and only comes alive when they use the footage of him that was shot) and if you love lee or good kung-fu movies this is one to own

5 out of 5 stars I GOT THIS AT BESTBUY FOR 19.99, GO CHECK IT OUT........2006-03-16

This is easily one of the best investments to my collection, I mean 4/5 of bruce lee's movies, and a documentary.

Now fisrt of all, all of these movies are the original dub and very watchable picture.

Fist of fury(Big Boss)----- very fun movie with bruce beating up a lot of people. The end fight is prettygood because it was so authentic. Pai ying is the man, he is also the action coordinator on this.

Chinese Connection(Fist Of Fury)------ One of the best movies of all time. Great fight scenes(check it out when he takes on the whole gym), great score, great acting, hell, even Lo wei is an actor in this movie, and he is pretty freaking good.

Return of the dragon(enter the dragon) directed by bruce lee, action directed by bruce lee, and starrign bruce lee. Come on bruce, you could have put your name as composer too. This movie kicks ass, better than big boss, but not as good as chinese connection. Everyone knows this is the one where bruce fights chuck norris at the end. And it is everythign it is made out to be, certainly not the best though.

Game of death---this is your classic case of fastforwarding kungfu cinema. The fight scenes are pretty good, but a VERY FORGETTABLE story.

Documentary-------very good doc. that talks a lot about what bruce was planning for game of death(sounds sweet), and what other characters he wa experimenting with for hsi future movies. Can you believe he had a blind swordsman idea in mind for himself. There is a lot of other important info also. 5/5 for the documentary, good for any bruce fan.

So I have seen this at cd tradepost for 14.99, and 19.99 at Best buy, so I don't know where the hell that $38 price comes from.

Bruce Lee wrote and directed Return of the Dragon, his third film, a mix of hard-edged kung fu and goofy humor. Once again he plays the country boy who travels to a foreign land, in this case Italy, where his restaurant-owning cousins face trouble from the local syndicate. Their strong-arm tactics have driven customers away and now threaten the family, but Lee refuses to buckle under their pressure and takes them on in a series of impressive confrontations. The film ends with a memorable showdown with world-champion karate artist Chuck Norris in the Roman Colosseum (though much of it is staged in a rather cheap studio set), a brutal, almost inhuman battle that revels in the intense punishment taken by the combatants. Norris is one of Lee's best opponents and a marvelous physical contrast: brawny and hairy, using power and blunt karate moves while lean, wiry Lee counters with speed, gymnastic prowess, and balletic grace. The mix of comedy and kung fu comes off as camp at times, but that's hardly the reason to see the film. When Lee gets into action, whether he's taking on a gang of knife-wielding thugs or dueling Norris to the death, he becomes the total focus. Originally titled The Way of the Dragon, this film was renamed in the wake of Enter the Dragon to cash in on that movie's popularity. --Sean Axmaker

4 out of 5 stars Bruce takes charge of his Films.......2007-05-22

While I very much like this action/comedy, it isn't the best of Bruce's films. The story and comedy are very old hat but his fight scenes(especially with Norris at the Coliseum) are as good as ever put on screen! It shows that along with the footage shot for "Game Of Death" that Lee Would have made a gifted director and writer had he lived.

5 out of 5 stars Just say WOW!.......2006-08-09

The story isn't that good. The humour is awful. Some of the sets are a joke. But the action? Man, you just can't fault this baby. The twin nunchaku sequence is superb. The fight with Bob Wall is unbelievable. But the true triumph is the Chuck Norris fight. Has to be one of the greatest fight scenes ever filmed. Fantastic. The choreography (entirely Lee's work) is matched only by the final execution. This is a true lesson from a true master on how cinematic fight scenes should be built, performed and filmed. Stunning.

    1 out of 5 stars Horrible Quality.......2006-06-12

This movie has bad quality it is dubed in they have deep voices and it sounds bad.If you want a good bruce Lee movie get Enter the Dragon I thought it would be a good movie but I was worng. It was not even a hollywood movie maybe if you were a big fan of Bruce Lee you could handle the bad quality.

    5 out of 5 stars Bruce Lee's most fun film; a classic.......2006-06-02

Set in Rome, Return of the Dragon (ROTD) is the last of Bruce's Hong Kong-produced films. Unlike Hollywood-produced Enter the Dragon, the English is dubbed, the production quality low by comparison. Yet, this movie is highly entertaining. Enter the Dragon was Bruce's biggest film, but there's something about ROTD that makes it his most exciting.

The fight-to-the-death showdown with martial arts legend, Chuck Norris, elevates ROTD to cult-classic status. Any kid that was a fan of the martial arts in the 1970's and 1980's wanted to see Bruce "beat" Chuck.

Like all of Bruce's movies, ROTD's fight scenes are brilliant, amazing, things of beauty. Though the fights are (obviously) staged, the athleticism displayed is otherworldly. They're quite funny, too. Bruce's charm and good sense of comic expression come through, particularly in the sparring/training scenes in the alley.

Enter the Dragon is really a James Bond film with lots of martial arts.(See my review.) ROTD, by contrast, is more in the tradition of Hong Kong kung fu films in which battles are fought for justice, honor, revenge, protection of family and loved ones, etc.

If you like martial arts films, ROTD is essential viewing. It's fun even if you're only mildly interested in -- or can just tolerate -- martial arts.

    4 out of 5 stars Bruce's movie.......2006-05-18

Bruce lee did it all for this movie. He may have even done the music but pry wouldn't hold himself to it. Now of course the only reason people talk about this movie is because of the chuck bruce fight. That had to be one of the top 2 or 3 fight scnenes ever when it came out. I mean it blew everything away including the chinese connection.

Storywise it really could have been a whole lot better. The movie starts with some good comedic elements. It is really sad sometimes to think about what would have been if he was alive and working in movies today. It was amazing to see bruce's charm and fighting skills blended together to make an altogether likeable guy and somebody who anyone would laugh at. Like when he beats the crap out of everybody, steals there guns and all, customers are coming in they are all laughing and passing around a gun trying to hide it real quick so nobody sees it. Bruce certainly had his own style and was unmatched in martial arts acting ability. And it certainly helps when you are one of the most respected martial artists in the world. He would have easily been up ther with jet li.

Now like I said, the story could have been a lot better, but it is decent for a while. Then we get like the stereotypical gangster looking type people (blacks and italians sadly) who want to close down the resaurant that bruce has just come to help out. So add in some boring scenes with nora miao(chinese connection) showing bruce around the city and some hit man who fails miserablely at killing him, and the story just drags along. But all the comedy keeps you some what into it,and all the workers in the kitchen who just happen to practice all day when not in the restaurant, they are just great. I mean they are so freaking stupid, you just know they would all be dead trying to defy the gangstas without ol brucey.

Now the fights aren't exactly plentiful, but he he did step it up from his first 2 movies. Beating up all the thugs(non martial artist's) gets a bit tiring, except of course when bruce scares the s*** out of this white guy by kicking the light bulb out of the ceiling right in front of him. So then bob wahl shows up and proves to be a good guy for bruce to beat down. So another fighter shows up and this fight kind of sucked. Whang in-sik has had MANY better performances than this and it is a shame that bruce couldn't show this real life GRANDMASTER off a bit more like Jackie Chan did in young master. SO now bruce finally meets up with chuck and while this fight was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It didn't have enough substance to be one of the best screen fights ever. I mean bruce obviously is being challenged and is going to take care of what he came to town for but chuck just kind of shows up to beat people down. So I could have used at least a set up, but still a spectacular fight. Raymond Chow somehow got the rights to film this in the roman coliseum and we get a little of bruce looking around, seeing scpoping the place out a bit before fighting. And he can't find him so Chuck juts waits around for bruce to come where he wants to fight him. They go at it an a pretty open area with only a cat to observe. When that cat creeches, blood will fly!!!!!!!

The dvd is acceptable in picture and soundif you are a collector like me and have hundreds of these and just like to have the movie . But if this is like your favorite movie, get an all region dvd player and indulge with the 2 disc and you then can get the special editions of "fist of fury" and "the chinese connection". I have the fox box collection with those 3, game of death and a documentary and it cost me less than the $14 amaon has for this movie alone. So look around and trust me, if you love kung fu, these movies are by far better picture and sound than most of videoasia's or say groundzero"s releases. Good, cheap fun.

1 out of 5 stars EDITED movies - BE WARNED!.......2007-08-25

Just as a heads up, in addition to this box set being insanely overpriced, the three films included are the EDITED versions, which are devoid of the original Japanese language track. Considering the individual releases of the movies uncut are now old and VERY cheap on Amazon (you can get most of the older movies for less than five bucks), I'd go for those.

Let's see - pay about $15 total to get them individually, or pay over two hundred bucks for edited ones?

    You do the math.

1 out of 5 stars Edited English Versions.......2007-03-08

Don't go buying this box set thinking it's the Japanese/Uncut English versions of these movies. All 3 are edited, and only contain the English version of the movie. Forget this box set and buy the movies separately. Only recommended for the casual fan.

    5 out of 5 stars Riveting.......2007-01-05

My kids watch these cartoons a lot -- over and over again. I even watched a few of the episodes and found them at times thrilling, sometimes humorous.

4 out of 5 stars Dragon Ball Z Babidi The Dark Prince Returns is GREAT!.......2004-12-12

The second to last DBZ DVD is excellent in terms of music and action.
Japanese gets an A and the english gets a C. The Japanese might have some of very funny voices but in terms of compelling music Japanese wins by far! The english has disgusting rock n' roll music. The voices of the english are horrible. They are hired amateurs who were previously with the Ringling Brothers Circus.
      Japanese all they way!

4 out of 5 stars One of the shortest and excellent fights ever!.......2004-12-12

This dvd is a memorable DVD in many ways. The excellent supersonic fight between Gohan and Dabura showed us exactly how Gohan has been lazy over the past seven years. The Japanese version is a excellent version. 20 years and growing strong, Dragon Ball Z is still a series which will be remembered for ages to come. Avoid the english version they hire very unprofessional amateurs from the Ringling Brother's Circus. The top reason why the english version is so lackluster is that they have pathetic voices and there's constant annoying electric guitar music in the background every second. The Japanese version has very compelling music and the voices are funny and they are better than most of the english voices. Caution: This movie is recommend for ages 11 or older for some very mild violence and constant mild language.

I love dragonball Z. This is the best anime out there. I wish that all of their episodes were on DVD rather than on Vhs, but oh well. This is a great saga, the Babidi one. Vegeta is going back to becoming the Prince of Mean. This is what he needed to fight with Goku without any misgivings. You have to watch this! Its great.

4 out of 5 stars Return of Cooler clasic combat.......2003-05-31

I would have to say that this movie is better than Cooler's Revenge. If you liked Cooler's Revenge than definently get this one. It has all the clasic combat you love about DragonballZ and twists and turns all over the place. One plus is that you get to see New Namek(You may not like it at the begining but after they clean up it looks better). And also you get to see Vegeta's full Super Saiyan abilities. I truly think this deserves all four out of five stars the producers really outdid themselves.

2 out of 5 stars Pretty Bad (English Dub Version).......2002-11-29

I love the dragonball Z series and was warned that the movies weren't that great, but I decided to check this one out since Vegeta was in it.

This movie gets some credit for the musical score and fight scenes which were both pretty cool. And finally it gets an extra point for Goku and Vegeta working together, with some great dialog between them.

Goku- It was nice knowing you Vegeta
      Vegeta- Oh Shut Up

However, the plot was completely ridiculous. Now that I think about it, it barely had a plot. Hey it was great that vegeta was in the movie, but it never explained how he just happened to appear on the planet.
Yeah sure they wanted Cooler to seem like an extremely invincible villian. But I've never seen Vegeta and Goku so out of it from fighting any villian on the series, even villians that had to be ten times stronger than Cooler.
This was one giant plot hole, didn't fit into the series at all. I am guessing it happened somewhere after Trunks first appeared but before the Androids came (otherwise Trunks would have been there, and if it was before Vegeta wouldn't be a super saiyan) but I am absolutely sure no one found out Vegeta was a super saiyan until the Android Saga. But here he was, showing it off, and Goku didn't even act shocked.

Cooler did not come close to his brother Frieza that's for sure.
If I was asked to explain the plot of this movie I wouldn't know where to begin.

Well I'll admit the movie was so dumb that it actually made me laugh. Maybe I should give it an extra point for that.

      5 out of 5 stars Better than COOLER'S REVENGE!.......2002-09-25

Compared to the it's sister video, COOLER'S REVENGE, THE RETURN OF COOLER is soooo much better. This video is the first, of those I own, that has Vegeta involved. When Vegeta figures he can't fight Cooler on his own, Goku says they must work together. Of course, Vegeta says stay out of his way, but he doesn't do ANYTHING to stop Goku from helping him! I was impressed and shocked. In COOLER'S REVENGE, Goku doesn't turn Super Saiyan until the end - bummer-, but in THE RETURN OF COOLER, just when you think Vegeta and Goku couldn't be their super selves anymore, they prove you wrong! I recommend for anyone who either has or has not seen COOLER'S REVENGE to get this video. You will not be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars "Well worth watching...".......2002-08-20

The sixth DBZ movie, "The Return of Cooler" was released in Japan under the title "Clash!! The 10 Billion Power Warriors". And we are rewarded greatly because Vegeta finally appears in a movie, and with Goku's help he [beats up] Meta-Cooler... I really like this movie and I thought FUNimation did a really good job on it. The movie starts off showing the Big Gete Star wrapping itself around Namek. Sensing the peril of his people, Dende sends Goku and his friends to Namek to check it out. They find that the Nameks have been enslaved by a bunch of robots, and behind the robots is an old enemy...Cooler! He has created a new metal body for himself, which is on the front cover, and it is known as Meta-Cooler. Although there is no music from bands like Disturbed or Drowning Pool, the soundtrack is cool and does go well with the movie. I loved the battle between Meta-Cooler and S.S. Goku, it was just cool, and I thought it was cool when Cooler was about to punch Vegeta and Goku saw it and stopped him. The fights between the Z-fighters and the battle droids were cool, and the droids looked really awesome. The cover is designed really well, and it stays true to it's original Japanese cover, which I really think should have been done with "Cooler's Revenge". I wonder how the cover art to movie 7 will look. Well, we'll just have to wait and see. I've only seen the edited version, but I bet the uncut is better, everyone is saying that it is, so I'll have to check that one out, but that'll have to be on DVD. I thought the last fight scene with Goku and the giant, damaged Meta-Cooler was pretty cool, but sort of weird. If you buy this movie and hold it under light, you'll notice that the lighter shadowed parts on Meta-Cooler will disappear, so they must have done something to the cover to make it do that, it's pretty clever. The scene where Cooler tries to hit Goku and misses was really clever, because it is revealed that Meta-Cooler knows a certain attack that we thought only Goku could perform. Meta-Cooler's voice was great, it sounded just like Cooler in "Cooler's Revenge" only echoed like a robot's voice, which is a good thing considering that's what he is. The voices are played by the voice actors from the series once again, and finally they didn't re-use the plot of Piccolo suddenly arriving to save Gohan. It's 45 minutes of intense action and very clever dialogue and activity, so I definitely suggest you pick up "The Return of Cooler" today!

      3 out of 5 stars "Cooler's Revenge was better...".......2002-08-19

I won't lie to you, this is indeed a good DBZ movie, but Cooler's Revenge was much better and had all that hard rock music in it. There is no Disturbed or Drowning Pool to be heard in this, all the music is composed, no words. Meta-Cooler sounded really great, though, his voice echoed slightly, like any robot's voice should. This one has Super Saiyans, and is the first movie in which Vegeta appears. Of course, you wonder how he knew where to find Cooler and Goku, he just kind of shows up. Vegeta has a cool voice, sounds very serious, and ready to punch Meta-Cooler's head off, but he doesn't succeed in doing so, not without Goku's help. The ending is good, but I don't know if it was necessary for there to be a giant Meta-Cooler towards the end, it's kind of weird. DBZ Return of Cooler is one you should get, but don't expect fusions or Gotenks or anything, it's still too early for that.

I love this combination that this box set has to offer.

Lord Slug: an evil namek came to Earth to steal it's natural resources. He has wish for power thanks to the dragon balls can now even Goku stop him.

Cooler's Revenge: The brother of Frezia has come to avenge his brothers death. Cooler is stronger than Frezia.

The Return of Cooler: The gang takes a space trip to the new Namek but surprising Cooler is on that planet with hundreds of cyborgs moldel after him.

4 out of 5 stars Great Set of Movies.......2005-09-11

These are some of my favorite movies in the whole series. The movies are basically split into trilogies, or sets of three. These are distinguished by the set-up of the main menues, disc art, case set-up and music. These are the trilogies out so far.

      Dead Zone
      World's Strongest
      Tree of Might

      Lord Slug
      Cooler's Revenge
      Return of Cooler

      Super Android 13
      Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan
      Bojack Unbound

The second trilogy is one of best, although they're all fantastic. Here are reviews of each movie in this trilogy.

      Lord Slug: 4/5 Stars
This is a classic, and includes what appears to be a half super-saiyan Son Goku. It's almost like a prequel to the super saiyans. Anyway, onto the summary. When an evil Super-Namekian named Lord Slug comes to earth, Goku and Kuririn save his ship beleiving it to be an astroid. Lord Slug lands on earth. Gohan tries to take on his minions, but fails. Piccolo beats them, but is very beat-up in the process. Eventually, at the climax of the movie, Son Goku and Lord Slug face off, and Goku goes 1/2 super saiyan, eventually beating him. A very good movie.

      Cooler's Revenge: 4/5 Stars
I've only seen this movie once, and I've only seen it edited. (I own Lord Slug and return of Cooler uncut; I have yet to buy this one.) But it's still a great one. Son Goku and his freinds are on a camping trip when Cooler, Freeza's brother, comes to avenge his brother and father. After they best his minions, Goku and Cooler face off. Goku goes super-saiyan and eventually beats him by blastin him into a star. But this isn't the end of Cooler. Not by a long-shot. A good movie, lot's of action and good animation.

      The Return of Cooler: 4/5
This is also a good one. It's got lots of action, and, for the first time EVER in a DBZ movie, VEGETA! The best charecter! Son Goku and his freinds head to New Namek after Dende, god of earth tells them that it's under attack by the Big Gete star. Apon arrival, Son Goku meats an old enemy: Cooler! But this isn't the Cooler he knew. This is Meta-Cooler, and its much stronger! Goku begins to fight him as Gohan and co. defeat the minions of Cooler. Goku is saved from death by Vegeta who came in his sayian pod. Vegeta reluctantly helps Goku to beat Cooler, and they do. But there's more Cooler's. Thousands more. But in the end, it's Cooler's arrogance that does him in as he underestimates the power of an enraged super-saiyan!

      Overall sound: 4/5
With the exception of Lord Slug, these are all in 5.1 Dolby.

      Overall picture: 4/5
These are starting to show they're age, but they still look pretty good.

      Overall Story: 3 1/2/5
The stories are a bit weak, though better than some.

      Overall action: 5/5
These feature some of the best action sequences in DBZ!

My final thoughts, buy this set, or get them speratelly. Get them uncut and you'll love them! They're a great set of DBZ films.

5 out of 5 stars Must Have For The Collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-02-17

These movies are great, the first guy who said these movies were bad is on some kind of drugs. **SPOILERS**

Movie 4-Lord Slug, A great movie. A villian by the name of Lord Slug has Arrived on earth with plans of total domination, with his wish on the Dragonballs for eternal youth, he might just get his way...

Movie 5-Cooler's Revenge, Another great movie. With the death of his brother Frieza, Cooler plans on visiting the saiyan who killed his brother. But with gokus new ability to turn into a Super Saiyan, will it be enough to stop the mighty Cooler?

Movie 6-Return Of Cooler, Great Movie, once again. New Namek is having a peacful day, untill the Big Ghetti Star, a star made completely of machine and metal, decides to take over and enslave the namekian people, but this is just a lure to get the universes savour, Goku, to the planet. When he arrives, he finds an unexpected old enemy, Cooler, but this time he means business with a new Metallic body, thanks to the Big Ghetti Star, can Goku put down Cooler once and for all?

I suggest these for any DBZ fan, im about to buy them to help finish my DBZ movie collection (I currently own movies 1,2,3,7,8,9) and then ill get Movie 10 (Broly: the Second Coming) when it comes out in April. but you dont care about that, so back on track, GET THESE MOVIES!!!

      2 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2004-11-16

I am a huge fan of DBZ and have been for the past 8 years. However, these 3 movies prove to be the WORST out of all 13. The animation and plot were extremely lacking and I found myself almost wanting to stop watching halfway through. It was very predictable and boring. You're much better off with any of the other movies; worlds strongest, tree of might, brolly, brolly returns, bojack, etc. You'll thank me later.

2 out of 5 stars Dreadful DVD Quality.......2004-12-22

First things first: this quadruple feature does not, I repeat NOT star Bruce Lee. The films included star a host of amusingly sub-par Lee imitators that sprung up after his death (Bruce Li, Bruce Le, Bruce Leung, Dragon Lee).
"The Dragon Lives Again" is an unforgettable movie that was the reason I ordered this disc. The premise: Bruce Lee (Leung) is in hell, where he becomes the enemy of a group of famous characters (James Bond, Zatoichi, Dracula, The Exorcist, The Godfather, Emmanuelle) that want to overthrow the emperor of the underworld. Along the way, he befriends the One Armed Swordsman and...Popeye the sailor! A veritable cornucopia of copyright infringements, this is just about the most enjoyably bad Bruceploitation movie you'll ever see.
"Bruce Lee: The Star of All Stars" ("Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger") tells the story of one of Bruce Lee's pupils (Li) who wants to unveil the truth about Lee's death. His quest sees him meeting Bruce's mistress, getting tangled with the mob, and even engaging in some Bruce Lee-inspired comedy relief moments.
"Enter the Game of Death" is the best movie on the set. A shameless ripoff of Bruce Lee's uncompleted "Game of Death," it's packed to the gills with surreal and exciting fight scenes. Though Bruce Le is no Lee in charisma, his fighting skills are decent and the action scenes are among the best in a bruceploitation movie. Also starring Bolo Yeung.
I didn't watch Dragon Lee's "Mission for the Dragon." Sue me.
These two double-sided DVDs from VideoAsia are absolutely horrible. "Enter the Game of Death" is widescreen, but it has a jittery picture that makes it nearly unwatchable. "Dragon Lives Again" is in severely cropped and faded full screen that makes the already lacklustre fight scenes that much worse. "Bruce Lee: Star of Stars" is actually in its original Chinese language track...but the subtitles are faded and constantly run off the screen, making the action sometimes impossible to follow! Argh!
The only special feature is something called "InstaAction," which allows you to watch the movies' action scenes skipping past all that pesky plot.

      2 out of 5 stars BRUCEploitation...PERIOD........2004-09-23

What can I say...? The only plus signs about this particular 2-pack are the fact that it features one of my childhood fav's, Enter the Game of Death(which, in my opinion, outshined many of the other attempts to present Bruce Lee's true vision for Game of Death) and the Bruce Li film is HOTTT because for the most part he's being HIMSELF and the subtitles and original language give it a certain authenticity that an english dubbed version wouldn't have. What left me P.O.'d was the quality(ie, Enter the Game of Death looked like it filmed during an earthquake and the plot structure wasn't there until Bruce Le got to the Tower of Death...before that, Bruce fights Bolo Yeung in the forest, then they're in the ring and Bruce breaks the guy's neck, then they "fight to the death" by the tower? Gimme a break.) The other films were BRUCE ploitation at worst and not worth mentioning. My advice...save your money and get a hold of Chinese Connection 2, the Fist of Fury Legacy, Exit the Dragon...Enter the Tiger, & Game of Death II.

1 out of 5 stars This is not even Bruce Lee!!.......2004-07-19

Take a look, it is a Chinese fake. That is NOT Bruce Lee. It is Bruce Le. A pathetic scamming of a great Chinese-American!

1 out of 5 stars Hopefully, this will be a good DVD.......2004-05-04

Operative word is "HOPE" as I doubt they will release Bruce Lee's films in 5.1 or clean up the picture, even though it is good on other Regions. Let's just hope this DVD has a better picture cleared of all defects, Dolby Digital 5.1, the FULL movie, and some extras. Bruce Lee deserves a hell of a lot more than he gets with these cheap Region 1 DVDs.
