2 out of 5 stars A "New Jack City" with Caucasians.......2007-07-27

Remember at the Oscars when Chris Rock said "Walk the Line" was just a white version of "Ray" and Joaquin Phoenix, the main actor in "Walk the Line," smiled in agreement? Well, this film is nothing but a white version of "New Jack City."

In both films, an athletic cop goes undercover to infiltrate the villain's set-up. In both, a villain's henchman smells a rat. In both, the mafia plays a role, but are not the main actors. In both, the female love interest of the main villain seems like she could be brought to the good side. In both, near the end, a man falls from some stairs to his death.

If someone gives you chocolate ice cream, I guess you might as well cover it with whip cream!

5 out of 5 stars Great to have it on DVD.......2007-07-16

I got this jewel on VHS when it came out...now it's great to finally have it on DVD. I'm probably partial to this movie since I live in Little Rock, the city in which Stone Cold was filmed (that's the Arkansas state capitol during the final "blow-em-up" fight scenes). But still, it's not a bad action film at all. And there are so many local stories around here regarding the filming (especially from those who watched the chopper fly street level down Capitol Avenue). I just wished there were "extras" on the disc. What you get is just the movie, plus scene selections. Get this while you can...it's a great addition to your DVD collection (and fun to watch).

5 out of 5 stars Bosworth has a great movie LOL.......2007-07-16

this is a great movie and i think it has a great cast--i never saw any other Bosworth movie but the co-stars William & Lance make his movie here a great action flick

5 out of 5 stars stone cold is stone wicked.......2007-07-15

i originally saw this movie on vhs when it first hit the video store.i waited patiently to get it on dvd.i admit that brian bosworth isnt the greatest actor on the planet but he is by far not the worst.in this movie though he did a fine job as an undercover cop gaining the trust of a notrious biker gang leader.william forsyeth played the character "ice ",the brotherhoods enforcer, very well.often overlooked as an acter,in this movie he found a good fit.just sit back and watch this flick and get ready for a good time.i guarantee it will hold your attention and leave you wanting to recomend it to your co-workers on monday morning.the brotherhood is a motorcycle gang you wont forget and john stone is a character you wont forget either, just let your woman watch with you and you will have her droolin. all in all stone cold is an excellent watch

5 out of 5 stars An Excellent Biker Movie.......2007-07-14

Excellent movie, all Harley's, tough bikers, very realistic to a point. This is one of my favorite biker movie and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes these types of movies and Harley's. The DVD quality is excellent as well.

5 out of 5 stars Stone Cold, Death in Paradise, Night Passage.......2007-09-13

Excellent intertainment. Tom Selleck is perfect for the role and the supporting actors are wonderful as well. My family has watched them over and over and still are not tired of them. Beats anything on T.V.

5 out of 5 stars tom selleck=jesse stone.......2007-09-09

this has to be the epitome of good casting, Selleck may be in the singular best role of his career not withstanding, his part of Matthew Quigley in "Quigley down under", or that of the 80's superb Magnum p.i.,also see his work in the Sacketts, all pieces fit to be remembered and awarded.this time there is more to be seen of the formation of a character, not all nice but, that truely reflects life doesn't it?. No this is serial extention of a role at its best, and the fact that the supporting cast are all positively studied is a bonus to the completeness, they make me look forward to the rest of the stories as they appear,my final plaudit is for the wonderful writing of Robert B. Parker, great stuff for a winters night or two.

4 out of 5 stars Death in Paradise.......2007-09-04

The story has a cold but strong feeling to Jesse. Makes me want to give him support to stop drinking and tell him he can do it. Completely enjoyed the story.........Jesse Stone is a very in depth character and I can't wait for the next story in the series. Love the dog connection!!!

3 out of 5 stars Jesse stone series.......2007-09-03

I just love the Jesse Stone storyline by Rob Parker. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this series and hope that Tom Selleck will continue to make the movies.

5 out of 5 stars Jesse Stone Collection.......2007-08-29

All three movies in the Jesse Stone collection are excellent. Tom Selleck plays a very convincing LAPD detective that moves to a small town in the north east. He is hired because the town council believes he is incompetent and they can continue in their "wicked ways". However, they find out differently.

4 out of 5 stars Jessie Stone Stone Cold.......2007-08-13

As a Tom Selleck fan this is the first in his series as Jessie Stone and is a great addition for this series. A must have.

5 out of 5 stars Selleck Got Me Again.......2007-07-25

I was on a personal trip from my home to Kentucky when I had occasion to hear Mr. Parker's Sea Change on CD. I enjoyed the CD emensely, which took me to the films that were available. I have enjoyed Mr. Selleck in all of his films and this was no different. It was if Mr. Selleck was made for the part. The film held my interest as well, if not better, than the book. Viola Davis played her part just as well. If you're a Selleck fan the films are not to be missed. Worth every star offered.

5 out of 5 stars Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone.......2007-07-19

I think Tom Selleck is great in this role. He has proved what a great actpor he is, in many tv shows, and those wonderful westerns. Jesse Stone is so believable - a very down-to-earth cop. I really enjoy this series.

5 out of 5 stars Stone Cold.......2007-06-27

My wife really loves Tom Selleck, so we really liked the movie. We ordered the other two in the series and are waiting for the forth one to come out on DVD. When it does, you can be sure that we will order it.

4 out of 5 stars Stone Cold w/ Tom Selleck.......2007-06-27

This movie is well done and has a good story. IF you like the Spenser series and others by this author, you will enjoy the mystery plot. Tom Selleck has enhanced a good story, and plays the part of Sheriff Stone as one would imagine in reading the story.

Director Sam Fuller's biggest success of its time (and, superficially at least, his most conventional film) is the 1953 noir effort Pickup on South Street. Candy (Jean Peters) has her purse picked on the subway by small-time thief and ex-con Skip (Richard Widmark), neither of them realizing that the purse contains microfilm bound for Communist spies and that they are being watched the whole time by Federal agents. The New York police and the Feds catch up with Skip and try to cajole him into turning over the microfilm, but as he's one of Fuller's "outsider" antihero protagonists, the patriotic angle cuts no ice with him. He plays both sides against the middle when he finds out that the Communists are involved, hoping to make a big score off the deal, but eventually he comes around when he realizes that he's smitten with Candy. Finally Skip plays ball with the authorities, but is it out of his love for both his friend Moe and Candy, or is he swayed by the patriotic urgings of the FBI, or does it just come from some inner core of decency? You decide. When Skip is asked, "Do you know what treason is?" he smirks, "Who cares?"; when the Feds try to appeal to his patriotism, he sneers through several layers of Sinatra cool, "Are you waving the flag at me?" Pickup is set almost entirely in the garbage-strewn alleys, grimy subways, seedy waterfront dives, and gloomy streets of New York City; it's marked by extremely lengthy takes and fluid, mobile camera work. The closing scene when Skip tracks down another character in the subway and administers a brutal beating to him is one of the more violent scenes you'll find in '50s film noir. --Jerry Renshaw

      Description

Petty crook Skip McCoy (Richard Widmark) has his eyes fixed on the big score, but when he picks the purse of unsuspecting Candy (Jean Peters) he finds a haul bigger than he could imagine: a strip of microfilm bearing confidential U.S. secrets. Tailed by both Feds and the unwitting courier's Communist puppeteers, Skip and Candy find themselves in a precarious gambit that pits greed against redemption, Right versus Red, and passion against self preservation. A dazzling cast, hardboiled repartee and director Samuel Fuller's signature raw energy combine to create a true film noir classic.

      Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars not only one of the best noirs - also one of the best films of the era.........2007-07-04

Samuel Fuller's pickup on south street is as perfect as film noir can get... It feauture 3 characters who would normally be seen as villains - as real people who we can identify with - people who simply do their jobs... They also happen to be incredibly interesting characters..
The film was shot magnificently in black and white for a remarkably low budget - only someone like fuller could pull it off...
The way the characters relate to one another in a matter of fact way.. and the way they are all targeted by the law and use the law to their advantage.. make this one of the most interesting twisted film noirs.. The stylization and direction combined with striking casting make this one of the best films period.
I would highly recommend this as an introduction to fuller and as a classic film noir..

      3 out of 5 stars A psychopath, a heroic doctor & a now sneak thief........2006-08-19

Richard Widmark plays them all. Later in his career he does numerous westerns & even a mad Navy ship's captain. In this one he is Skip McCoy a happy-go-lucky career criminal. His performance is above the movie itself. He is a pickpocket who steals Candy's (Jean Peters) wallet. Unknown to both of them she is a courier for communist spies & had a piece of microfilm with government secrets in her wallet. The Feds know about it too. Soon they're both in trouble & turn to each other in some of the movies best scenes. She's in trouble with her commie bosses. He's in trouble because he is already a three time loser. He's not particlarly patriotic, even when he figures out what he has. He is looking for a big score. He has to reconcile, doing the right thing, going straight & pursuing a long-term relationship with Candy. Widmark does the best he can with the material he's given in this average B movie. I give him 4****.

5 out of 5 stars cold war paranoia sure did make for some fun movies!.......2006-05-04

just a near-perfect concept: richard widmark is a pickpocket whose latest mark is a young woman who just happens to be a spy carrying nuclear secrets in her wallet. film noir at its very best. and thelma ritter to boot.

5 out of 5 stars About as good as it gets........2006-02-27

I usually tell people who wonder about Film Noir to see Out Of The Past. Pickup On South Street didn't change my opinion but its still very good.

This time, Richard Widmark skirts the line between the psycho he played in earlier films and the good guy he would become. This seems just right because it gives him the dangerous edge he needs. The movie is tough and politically incorrect but like the anti-Commie business, a product of its time.

No need to say more. Performances are great as are scenes of a New York long gone.

4 out of 5 stars Kiss, Slap, Bang!.......2005-10-11

I've reviewed many Noir films from the 40's and 50's, "Maltese Falcon" to the B film "Detour," and loved them all, and don't get me wrong, POSS held me all the way through; the problem with this film is it's ugly misogamy, which unfortunately lives on to some extent in the film industry.

Sure, Noir films demand hardboiled punks and bimbo's of loose morals, but how many times is poor Jean Peter's, an okay doll, get punched in the face or shot in the belly. Come on, that's over-female-kill. That last scene after all the mayhem is just laughable.

Okay, I know, the story in "Detour" didn't make any sense either. These films are vehicles for an American mythology. The men are tough, able to take a punch and give it back too. Yeah, that's an urban John Wayne for you. The women are essentially ladies of the evening in a cocktail dress with a heart of gold, not marriage material, so you can er, kiss `em or beat `em up if ya want depending on the hour. Can't lay a hand on mother material I guess.

Richard Widmark is ludicrously cocky in his role of the pickpocket with brains. If his old man hadn't beat him to a pulp every day after reform school, things would have been different; he's smart enough to go to Harvard, but as it is, he enjoys cracking wise in the cop house. Ya got ta love a lug like that.

The seventh installment in the long-lived Land Before Time series corrals the familiar cast of cute-faced prehistoric friends for a thoughtful examination of character. When Littlefoot spies a flying rock that crackles through the sky ablaze "like fire in the trees," the grownups speculate that it may have been a stone of cold fire, capable of performing miracles. Soon enough, flyer Petrie's egomaniac Uncle Pterano catches wind of the sighting and hatches a devious plan involving kidnapping the doe-eyed, adorable Ducky to claim the magical stone for himself--what better way to finally secure what he figures is his rightful spot as leader of the herd? Pterano enlists a fearsome posse of fellow flyers to carry out his scheme, but unlike Pterano, who never intends to harm Ducky, they're not careful with the little dinosaur and lose her in treacherous terrain. While the rest of the gang searches for her with help from beyond the mysterious beyond, Ducky deduces that Pterano may not have a heart of gold, but he's not all bad either--a concept she clarifies for the others by breaking into song. "Good Inside," along with two other original tunes, elevate this video from pretty good to really enjoyable; fans of the series will be relieved to find that a string of successive shows hasn't resulted in watered-down characters or tired story lines. --Tammy La Gorce

5 out of 5 stars one of the best LBT movies!.......2005-09-04

this one is a very unusual entry in the LBT. it is a bit scarier and more mysterious than the rest. Petrie is as funny as ever. and Ducky is so cute! one reason why this entry is unusual is because there are two space aliens in it. they are very good characters!
for adults: this movie has less singing in it!
why are you still reading this?! go out and buy it!

5 out of 5 stars The Best one ever made! :).......2005-07-09

This is so funny I nearly fell to the floor! I wish they had more scenes of the flyers though. Even though Sierra and Rincus (however you spell it) is mean to Ducky, still, they are so funny! Ducky is as cute as ever, and even though Pterano is mean to his nephew and Ducky, he saves Ducky in the end, and his song is so funny! I do have to say though I wish Pterano had more lines in the end. He was just silent when they escaped from the volcano.

I have always liked Little Foot, until I saw this one, Petrie is now my favorite. He reminds me of when I was a little kid. (Yes, that means I was scared of everything!)Keep up the good work universal!

5 out of 5 stars The invasion angle comtinues... And delivers.......2007-08-22

The invasion angle got better this time around. Some matches exceeded my expectations. Others didn't.

        IC Title Match
        Lance Storm vs. Edge
I hate the way the wwe under used Lance Storm. This match only proves how match of a talent he is. A very good opener. Edge and Lance bought their best. A very fun match with some wrestling. I enjoyed this match 4.5/5

        Six Man Tag Team Match
APA & Spike vs. Test & Dudleyz
Another good match. That was pretty short, but I think it was for the best. Several cool spots and Test takes that clothesline from he11. The interference worked out pretty well too. 4/5

        Cruiserweight vs. Light Heavyweight
        Tajiri vs. X-Pac
They mixed up pretty well. Tajiri throws some sick kicks. A fast paced match that was short but still delivered. 4/5

        Chris Jericho vs. Rhyno
The build up leading to this match was awesome. Jericho delivers some of the funniest promos and interviews ever. The match lived up to the hype for me. Fast spaced then slow at times. Lots of moves tossed out there. With Stephanie getting invloved also. With a great finish. This just might be my favorite match. 5/5

Hardcore Ladder Match for the Hardcore Title
        Jeff Hardy vs. RVD
Hardcore? And Ladder? Aren't ladder matches hardcore anyway? Well, I'll leave that alone for the time being. Anyway this match was a huge step down from their hardcore match at invasion. It was still good, but it just wasn't great after seeing what their capable of doing. 4/5

        Tag Team Steelcage match
DDP & Kanyon vs. Undertaker & Kane
Hmmmmm. This is a hard one to except. Of course 2 big guys like Kane and Taker would destroy these two in this environment. But it could have been a little less dominant. DDP especially deserves better than that. Putting that aside, this was a squash match with some heavy damage being dealt. DDP takes a savage beating. If your a fan of Kane & Taker, and hate DDP & Kanyon. This match is for you. 3/5

        WWF Championship
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle
I can see Stone Cold as a heel. He makes a great heel. But I dont see him as a cowardly heel. I wasn't really feeling that. Still a good match. Lots of brawling with Kurt eating the ring post until he was bloody. Austin beat his a55. Lots of good spots but the ending was a bit out there. You will either love it or hate it. 5/5

        WCW Championship
        Booker T vs. Rock
If I said it once, I said it a billion times. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, sells a beatin' like the Rock. He over exaggerates everything. He cant wrestle, but he can entertain. This was a very good back and forth match. The interference worked on both ends great. And Shane takes a rockbottom on the floor. A good match with a good ending. 4.5/5

This was a great summerslam and a good way to follow through with the invasion storyline. This was one of the better ppvs of the invasion. 2001 was the year of great ppv's period. If only wwe can bring back that greatness.

        5 out of 5 stars Great Summerslam:.......2007-07-31

I had waited a long time to see this one and I will say that I was not disappointed. Here are the matches:

Intercontinental Championship: Lance Storm vs Edge. This match was better than I expected. Their styles worked great with each other. Edge has come a long way as a single wrestler and it shows here. A good opener.

Six Men Tag: Dudley Boyz & Test vs APA & Spike. For some reason, I could not get into this match. Just was not that interesting for me. A few good spots were Shane McMahon coming out and hitting Bradshaw with a chair and Spike going threw a table. Only boring match on the card.

WWF Lightheavyweight vs WCW Cruiserweight Unification Match: X-Pac vs Tajiri. Another match that surprised, really entertaining. X-Pac should have wrestled more like this in his career and maybe he would still have one.

Chris Jericho vs Rhyno w/Stephanie McMahon. This was the first match on the card I was excited to see. Both have had great battles in the past, with Y2J never defeating Rhyno. This was a good back and forth type match, which features a highlight of Jericho getting speared in mid-air by Rhyno. P.S. Stephanie looks hot in this match.

Ladder Match for the WWF Hardcore Championship: Jeff Hardy vs Rob Van Dam. This match was not better than their classic at Invasion but it was still great. Their use of the ladder made this exciting. Wish that more weapons were used but still a great showing by both men and great show of respect at the end.

Steel Cage Match for the WWF and WCW Tag Team Championship: Undertaker and Kane vs DDP and Kanyon. Now, I just want to say that I am always game to see WCW get an a** whippin especially DDP. I thought in WCW he was overrated like his friend, Goldberg. This match is not the best cage match I have seen but it was not that bad either. My only beef with this match is that there was no blood. However, it is not a waste of time like Taker and Kane's next match at Unforgiven with Kronik; that was BAD!!. But anyways this match is not too boring and for me was quite funny.

WWF Championship Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Kurt Angle. This was by far the standout bout at this SummerSlam event. I have seen all their matches {which were all great} but this one was the best. This match had a great storyline and it was a match that I was not disappointed with. As for the match itself, it was so intense and brutal. Some great wrestling moves, lots of blood, false finishes, referees taken out {mostly by Austin}, submissions even some slugfests. The ending SUCKS; I mean it does not make the match horrible but prevents it from being one of the greatest title matches. You will see what I mean but a great showing by Stone Cold and Kurt Angle. MATCH OF THE NIGHT.

Main Event: WCW Championship Match: Booker T vs The Rock. I was excited to see The Rock return to PPV. This match was great and it was a good way to close the show. To me, it seemed that the Great One carried Booker T for most of the match but Booker T gets a second wind and does something. Shane McMahon and the APA also make an appearance for a very exciting ending.

This was a great event and shows what WWE now is lacking. Although, Austin vs Angle should have probably been the main event, the ending would not qualify as main event material {you know what I mean}. But anyways a great buy.

4 out of 5 stars The Invasion Continues..........2007-06-05

Intercontinental Champion Lance Storm vs. Edge - Lance Storm regards this as his best match during his WWE run and you could see why here. These two put together a solid wrestling match and a very good opening match.

APA & Spike Dudley vs. Test & Dudley Boyz - Another good match here as everyone worked real well together in this good mix of brawling & wrestling. This was probably one of the APA's best matches & the interfearence with Shane McMahon would play a role later.

WWF Lightheavyweight Champion Tajiri vs. WCW Crusierweight Champion X-Pac - This was a title vs. title match as these two put on the third solid bout for the night & the best match in the history of the Lightheavyweight Title. The only problem was that this match could have gone on longer as it seemed like it was too short to really turn into something.

Chris Jericho vs. Rhyno - This was a storyline building up for over 2 months as Chris Jericho had never defeated Rhyno. Stephanie was at ring but the match didn't revolve around her & was allowed to be something good. It did get a little slow at times but it was never boring & another solid match overall.

Ladder Match: Hardcore Champion Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam - This didn't top their match at Invasion or live up the standards that the Hardyz set in ladder matches but it was still something to watch. The only thing bad would be various blown spots as RVD tried to be innovative but the spots didn't go off as planned. Good but sloppy at times.

Steel Cage Match: WCW Tag Team Champions Undertaker & Kane vs. WWF Tag Team Champions DDP & Kanyon - The Undertaker fued with DDP reaches it's climax & ends the same way it started & remained throughout the entire storying...with DDP getting completely destroyed. WCW was made to look completely inferior here as Undertaker & Kane just beat up DDP & Kanyon who didn't get any offense in before they let Kanyon go so they could double team DDP & beat the living hell out of him. Anyone who payed attention to this fued knew how this one was going to end & play out. It's good if you are just a fan of glorified squashes but otherwise, it's nothing to watch as the whole match (and fued) was one-sided.

WWF Champion Stone Cold vs. Kurt Angle - This is a forgotten classic here as they told a great story of Austin being completely ruthless here & Angle was the hero that never gave up. They went on for around 30 mins. & the match turned from Angle had to beat Austin to Austin could not beat Kurt Angle. They ending involving the referees was kinda a jip but it didn't take away from the match itself as it was the match of the night & again, a forgotten classic encounter.

WCW Champion Booker T vs. The Rock - This match didn't come close to topping the previous one but it was a good choice to close the show. The people's champion of the WWF meets the guy alot of people concidered the people's champion of WCW...who both just happened to have the same finishing move in the Rock Bottom/Book End. These two had a fast paced match that had some entertaining moments including one where the APA come out & get revenge on Shane McMahon by giving him one of the stiffest lariats I've seen from Bradshaw. This gave the fans what they wanted as The Rock returned to PPV & became the WCW Champion.

Overall, this along with Rebellion & Survivor Series were the best PPV's during the whole Invasion period of the WWF. Every match here was solid (except the cage match) this DVD is worth the price. I recommend.

        65-61%-poor
        60-56%-awful

        1. Edge vs. Lance Storm for the ITC title- This was an average match. I liked there choice for this as there opener. I really started to like the in ring skills by both of these men and this was a good way to start off the ppv. Nothing special just some good soild wrestling. Winner and new wwe ITC champ Edge. Match Rating 7/10.

2 The dudleys and test vs. APA and spike dudley- This was your average filler but it turned out to be quite exciting. It was about 5 minutes long which i thought was the right choice for time length. There was non stop action and a really seewt spot were spike got pushed off the top rope through a table. Also i had not seen as sick of chair shot sience the michales tker hell in a cell match when shane McMahon hit bradshaw with a chair. Awsome stuff. Winners the dudleys and test. Match Rating 6.5/10.

        3. X-Pac vs. Tajiri for the undisputed cruiserwieght title- This was also a good match. This was back when the wwe even cared a little bit about the cruiserwieghts now they jsut dont care at all. These guys put on a really good match and no slow spots that even kept me interested in the match and i would ask the wwe if theyt had more matches like these. Winner and undisputed cruiserwieght champ X-Pac. Match Rating 7/10.

        4. Rhyno vs. Y2J- This was a good match as well with a storyline. It was just like the dge match at the same pace but maybe a little better. There were some nice spots one was when jerico came off the top rope and was gored in mid air by rhyno got to see to believe. This was just some good wrestling with intensity. not much else to say. Winner Y2J. Match rating 7.5/10.

        5. Jeff Hardy vs. Rvd for the hardcore title in a ladder match- This was the first huge match of the night. This match was off the chain. I wish they would have used some more wepons because it was a hardcore match as well but that did not make the match any worse. Nice 20 minute match with alot of risks taken. One of my favorite parts of the match was the suplex off the top of the ladder. Realy good stuff by bith guys. Winner and new wwe hardcore champion RVD. Match Rating 9/10.

        6. DDp and kanyon vs. taker and kane for the tag team titles in a steel cage match- This was not what you would call a good steel cage match. This was basically kane and taker dominating most of the match. It would have been better but there was to much one sided offense for me to enjoy. It was not bloddy at all and it was just boring for the most part. Still watchable but not that good. Winners and new tag team champs taker and kane. Match Rating 6.5/10.

        7. Kurt Angle vs. Stone Cold for the wwe title- This was match of the night in my opinion. This was an awsome storyline and the match lived up to its hype. It started out with great intensity and contiued throughtout the match. Lots of blood in this match. Tons of =false finishes in this match which you wont want to miss. Also angles hits his famous moonsault in this match and it was a thing of beauty. All of the false finishes are great. The ending sucks but it does not hurt the match to much. Winner kurt angle by DQ but still wwe champ stone cold. Match Rating 9/10.

        8. The rock vs. Booker T for the WCW title- This was a great way to close off the ppv. It was great to see the rock make his return. I think this match played out the way it was supposed to. Some good action by shane McMahon and non stop all the way through. I thought that booker might accualty retain. Also a nicxe rvenge spot were the apa layed out shane mcmahon. Winner and new wcw champ The rock. Match Rating 8.5/10.

Well that raps up another. I would give summersalm 2001 a grade of 61/80 which is a 76% which means this is a perfect ppv. I thnk that is a good grade. If you can tell me if my review was helpful or not i would appericate that. Thnks for your time.

5 out of 5 stars Steve austin- The family man.......2007-04-04

This dvd focuses more on austin's friends and family. However, this is good for die hard austin fan like myself to see steve austin the person ( steve williams) and to find out how austin's family feels about his whole career in the squared circle. There is good footage included of his early days in wcw and ecw. Im sure there will be some included on the upcoming austin dvd set as well. Anyway, i would recommend you purchase this dvd only if you are interested in knowing more about austin the person and not just the wrestler. I gave this dvd 5 stars because of the way it relates austin's real life with his wrestling career. The next austin dvd which comes out in november will provide a better comprehensive look at austin's career. The content will probably be a combination of previous austin dvds. This dvd is put together well, shows you a great amount of austin's family, and has some of his early matches and promos. So i give this dvd 5 stars and that is the "stone cold truth".

4 out of 5 stars I loved it but the dvd lacks........2006-12-24

The movie was a rehash of what some of his other dvd's touched on. However the ecw stuff is hilarious. I liked it alot. I loved AA & Ric Flair vs. the Hollywood Blonds as an extras match. However I wish they would go into more detail like the Chris Benoit DVD. They don't and that is why I am giving this only 4 stars.

1 out of 5 stars 1 DVD is not enough!.......2006-09-22

Im a huge Stone Cold fan and I have got to say that I am horribly dissapointed. This disc does not contain any of the good Stone Cold matches...specificlly the matches during the Austin/Mcmahon/Corporate Ministry era.

Luckally, I rented this from Blockbuster. The main story is good but the rest I have seen in other DVDs. I was hoping for alot of matches. It would take atleast 4-6 DVD discs full of matches to really go deep into Austin's history. But 1 disc is pathetic. I put shame on the WWE as they have no idea what fans want.

This DVD was not even worth the rent. I am a horribly horribly dissapointed Stone Cold fan and wonder how the WWE could put out trash such as this.

I hope the WWE releases a 3-6 DVD set on Stone Cold otherwise I hope the WWE goes out of business as they are a horrible wrestling company now a days ever since they lost competion (WCW and ECW) and have no motivation to become better.
