I definately enjoyed this DVD. I felt it added to my game as an advanced player. Howard Lederer as the speaker was very good and did not bore the heck out of me. I would like to see a new DVD by him come out with even more advanced plays.

Much better than the first one probably because the first one was too basic for me. I liked this one where I didn't care much for the first one. I realize he was trying to build a foundation in the first one but it did say it was "The Ultimate Guide to No-Limit Holdem" which it was not. Just tell it like it is and don't oversell and I won't be disappointed and give poor reviews. Back to the point- there is some useful information and some valuable tips and tells here so if you don't yet have this one it is worth getting.
He does a nice job of telling you how much to bet pre flop to get certain results ( three times the blind as average, more to shut opponents out, a little less as you gain more experience and can extract extra profit by outplaying your opponents after the flop). It provides a good baseline to build a winning no limit game and worth repeated viewing to strengthen your game. He has an appealing teaching style and seems sincere in talking about poker. Recommended.

This DVD is terrific. Rather than describe the content, as most have, I'll discuss the results.
I'm a rookie that plays with friends every couple of weeks. I've been playing for less than a year. I hadn't been a very winning player for a while, but went to Vegas recently. I watched this DVD and studied the Pre-Flop Strategy, Odds Chart and Hold'em Race Odds charts, and decided to take a chance and enter a low-dollar tournament. What a blast- I finished 11th out of 51 players. The next night, I entered another tournament. I made it to the final table and placed in the money- 7th. Wow, I thought I was going to be taken to the cleaners, but did pretty well against some clearly more experienced veterans. After returning from the trip, I immediately beat my friends, two games in a row. I had been getting my butt kicked by them for a couple of months now, so needless to say, this video has really turned my game around.
I didn't realize how much I misunderstood about the game until I watched this video. I'm doing things in reverse order- now I'm going to purchase the first DVD to make sure I get the basics down, to add to these advanced techniques.
Good for new tournament players.......2005-11-29
Lederer's DVD and starting hand guide are excellent resources for new NLHE tourney players. "More Secrets" is much better than "Secrets". The reason the DVD is 4* and not 5* is that late stage tournament strategy is not adequately discussed.

After viewing the first dvd, I realized this poker pro knew how to get complex ideas across to the viewer very clearly. I thoroughly enjoyed the first dvd. I highly recommend getting it prior to this one for the complete package. If you think it is too basic for you, I would still invite you to give it a try. I thought it was going to be stuff I already knew until I saw how much I didn't know.
This dvd goes even further than the other dvd with poker concepts. I can't even begin to recommend it highly enough. The fine reviews here say it well. I have never been complimented on my game or asked where I learned to play before I viewed these dvds. Howard's concepts give you the confidence you need to feel relaxed at a table and make the best decisions you can make. Howard doesn't go through scenarios so much as provides you with the concepts of what you are trying to accomplish. He tries to get the viewer to realize no one decision is correct or incorrect ALL the time. These advanced concepts he does explain can be applied to numerous situations you will encounter at the poker table.
These dvds allow you to develop you're own poker style based on the foundation of Howard's teachings. I have never had this much FUN playing hold'em. Whatever I was doing before, it was all wrong. I have made more final tables in tournaments than my entire six months of playing. You can't go wrong with this one, it is a gem. Even my poker books make more sense after viewing these dvds. It has really provided me with the "secrets" I needed to go to the next level.

Vital foundation for beginning players.......2006-03-06
This is highly recommended for beginning players who want to take their game to the next level. If you want to build a house, you've got to start with a solid foundation. This DVD gives this foundation, which most beginning players are sorely lacking.
My advice would be to learn the starting hands, odds, and other techniques covered in this DVD, then practice for a few games. Then, watch Howard's 2nd DVD, "More Secrets of No-limit Hold 'em." The two DVDs together will propel your game to the next level.
Why not 5 stars? My only criticism of these two DVDs is that they're missing what I view is a fundamental tool that all poker players should have in their arsenal: 'The Rule of Two and Four,' which is in another DVD, "Final Table Poker with Phil Gordon" (another excellent DVD). This rule is by far the simplest way to calculate your approximate odds of making a drawing hand. After the flop, multiply your outs by four to get your percentage of making a winning hand. After the turn, you would multiply your outs by two to get your percentage of making a winning hand. An example would be if you have four cards of the same suit after the flop. You need one more card of that suit to make a flush. There are 9 "outs," which are 9 remaining cards of that suit that would make a flush. After the flop, take 9 outs X 4 = 36% chance of making a flush, once both the turn and river have been played. After the turn, if you still haven't made your flush, then multiply 9 outs X 2 = 18% chance of making the flush on the river. This is a powerful tool, and helps you decide whether to play a hand.
I would say that Howard's two "Secrets..." DVDs, combined with Phil Gordon's DVD, are the best way I've seen to master the game. I feel that these DVDs, along with lots of practice, can advance you from a rookie to a solid beginner-intermediate player.

The sub-title reads "The Ultimate Guide to No-Limit Holdem". It is hardly an ultimate guide. It is a beginner's guide at best and that's if you live ina cave and don't watch televised poker. Televised poker gives you a primer on the game nearly every broadcast and good commentary to fill in the gaps. Even Lederer as an analyst/ commentator is more helpful than this DVD; I think the main problem here is the target audience is expected to be almost completely ignorant and so it feels a bit too elementary. If you are completely new to holdem it is probably okay otherwise it feels a little patronizing. Consider renting as once you understand the basics you probably won't rewatch it.
Good DVD to learn the basics........2005-11-04
I think some of the reviews are a bit harsh. This is an excellent DVD for the beginner. It will help you learn the fundamentals. Without that you cannot survive in the game. If you are an intermediate or advanced player skip this one.

Part 4: Reordering Your Finances
So how do you create financial margin? Learn four practical tips to achieving financial margin: (1) Identify your annual available income, (2) set margin goals, (3) determine your monthly consumable income, and (4) develop a plan.
Part 5: A Time to Run
There’s something in all of us that wants to walk as close to the line as possible. By setting moral margins, we protect ourselves from experiencing the consequences of sin. Because sexual sin has the greatest consequences, we should always ask ourselves, âAm I fleeing or flirting with the line?â

To the Limit - WMVHD disk.......2006-11-10
I wanted to test my 1080p HDTV. Unless you have a Blue-ray, the only way to view a full HD on a 1080p TV is with a computer. This WMVHD disk plays great eventhough I only used a VGA connection (my laptop does not have a DVI connection). Resolutions and details are so life like, you have to run it to believe it. I would like to get commercial movies in this format.

Impressive star power........2007-05-07
Whilst "Skyscraper" (1995) proved that Smith could effortlessly carry a big budget action film with enormous star presence and charisma, in "To the Limit" (1994) she impresses with her range as an actress. As undercover agent "Collette", Smith goes deep undercover, infiltrating two different sides in a bloody war for an enigmatic compact disc holding sensitive state secrets. Balancing a range of aliases is no easy task in this fast moving film, but Smith achieves it effortlessly. Whilst the film itself is overambitious at times, Smith's presence makes for highly satisfying viewing.
Not as Bad as I Was Hoping For.......2007-03-20
To be perfectly honest, I bought this movie because I expected it to be horrifically bad. You know, bad acting, bad dialog, bad plot? The whole works. For the most part it succeeded in all of these areas, but it's missing something from making it the camp classic it could be. I watched it once, laughed hysterically when Anna Nicole started screaming about making babies or something, but barely chuckled through the rest of it. I'll probably watch it again while having a six pack or something just to see if I missed anything, but so far the camp value is minimal at best. Maybe this is a B rate B movie?

Dare I need tell you how greatly this softcore, action thriller sucks? Ok. You might think there are two reasons (besides those two) to rent this: Nudity and Hilariously bad acting. Well, there is nudity, but not as much as you think. If you're getting it for Anna's naked flesh, be prepared to be more acquainted with your fast forward button. She's nude, don't get me wrong, in the shower, in the bed, etc., but after that first scene, she is clothed and trying to act for a loooong time before the next scene. Her "acting" is probably good if you compare to how she acts on her TV show. she at least doesn't seem stoned. There is a plot that involves...just kidding, I have no idea! There are some actual actors and a Travolta sibling playing your typical mobsters found in these movies. The movie only still exists because of Anna being naked in it and there is nowhere near enough of it to make "To the Limit" more than a free rental, if that. I should mention that this is a review for the R rated version. I don't know if there is an unrated version, but it would have to be better than this. For more nudity, bad acting, and a less coherent Anna, go rent "Skyscraper".

After watching this series when it was shown originally on television I was surprised at how good it was. It wasn't your usual religous programming. It was exciting and interesting, not that most religous programming is not, but I'm 23 and let's face it, there's not a lot out there for young Christians.

An Anna DOuble feature on one DVD? I'm in heaven! Why Anna isn't making more movies is beyond me. Every red blooded American man should stand up and shout "I love Anna! She's the American man's Dream!!!" Do it now!
Her acting is as professional as Bette Davis or Audrey Hepburn could ever hope to be. The range of emotions she can display makes you aware that she was born to be an actress and show her talent to the fullest.

I bought it because of the obvious reasons the nude scenes, I also thought, "How bad can those movies be ?". Well people, my question has been aswered, they (both movies) are REALLY bad. Keep your money people, instead rent it and "grab" the "important" scenes with your computer...or download them from somewhere....believe me it's not worth it....
PS: If downloading the videos is illegal, just rent it once, you'll see what I mean...

Description
