Critics and audiences didn't seem too happy with Back to the Future, Part II, the inventive, perhaps too clever sequel. Director Zemeckis and cast bent over backwards to add layers of time-travel complication, and while it surely exercises the brain it isn't necessarily funny in the same way that its predecessor was. It's well worth a visit, though, just to appreciate the imagination that went into it, particularly in a finale that has Marty watching his own actions from the first film. --Tom Keogh

Shot back-to-back with the second chapter in the trilogy, Back to the Future, Part III is less hectic than that film and has the same sweet spirit of the first, albeit in a whole new setting. This time, Marty ends up in the Old West of 1885, trying to prevent the death of mad scientist Christopher Lloyd at the hands of gunman Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen (Thomas F. Wilson, who had a recurring role as the bully Biff). I am very satisfied with my purchase of this trilogy. It has hours and hours of behind the scenes and bloopers and How they made the movies, which is very interesting. The movies come nicely packaged in a very nice dvd holder that opens like a book. Someday I expect that these movies will be known as Classics. Amazon had the cheapest price of the Trilogy of any store or online store I shopped at. An all around great value for sure.

Great Movie, but more bad language than I remembered!.......2007-09-10

I bought this three movie package because my girls (6 and 8) were singing the Jonas Bros. song Year 3000, which mentions this movie. I remember loving this movie when I was a teen! However, I did NOT remember how many cuss words where used in this movie, so beware if you are purchasing this for your children to enjoy today!

A Must Have For All Fans.......2007-09-04

After years of waiting, Back to the Future is finally released to DVD. The three movies that nearly single-handedly made Michael J. Fox into a star are here for purchase.

These three DVD contain an amazement of extras, including commentary on all three features, deleted scenes for the movies, the interviews, featurettes, documetaries, an assortment of others. A definite must have for film fans of all ages.

One of the most universally loved movies to ever grace the cinema. The movies look flawless. The prints are amazing, everything looks amazing. It's just an amazing experience. Presented in 1:85:1 anamorphic widescreen, it's a beauty to the eyes, and the 5.1 soundtrack is a beauty ot the ears as well.

This is a definite must have. Good family fun for everyone, and if you've seen the movies a hundred times over, check out the discs for the boatload of extras. You won't be disappointed.

Highly creative and entertaining stories. I wish they had gone a little easier on the sexual innuendo, especially making "mom" out to be such a tramp as a teen. The language is also really rough, especially in part two.

Excellent restoration of some of the funniest pieces of cinema ever produced. Yes, you have to somewhat be a fan but seeing Ma & Pa getting their start in The Egg and I makes each addition a laugh a minute. Granted, things might not be politically correct by today's "standards" but if you want good clean comedy, this set is for you.

Jillian Michaels, the trainer from NBC's The Biggest Loser and self-proclaimed "TV's toughest fitness guru," runs through circuit training like a drill sergeant on caffeine. Awesome Workout.......2007-09-14

This set of DVD's are awesome. I work out 5 days a week and own quite a few workout DVD's. These are only about 25 minutes of actual workout compared to my others which run around 45 minutes, but they work you out just as hard in less time. I am in pretty good shape and I was tired when I got done. I love doing them on days when I'm short of time because I know I'll burn just as many calories during Jillian's workouts as I would the longer ones. I would not recommend them for a beginner though because she moves really fast from set to set and there really aren't any breaks so you have to work hard to keep up with the group.

I hardly broke a sweat with this DVD! Michaels doesn't count or keep in beat with music, or even keep you moving the whole time. And she's too busy laughing and flirting with her crew to even keep you interested. She is definitely not good at leading a cardio workout whatsoever! Save your money!

Tough but Good.......2007-08-31

This set is tough but does not over do it. I like to workout regularly but don't do anything strenuous. The sets move very quickly and you are not stuck doing a move for a long time so I find I can hang in there until she moves into the next exercise. I find I have to pause the CD before the cool down and stretching though because I have to catch my breath. I always feel like I got a great overall workout and that I kicked butt. I like her style and format. I enjoy the way she leads you through without being obnoxious or peppy. She is a tomboy and I appreciate that. She is no nonsense but still remains compassionate and encouraging.

I consider myself very fit and I work out 5-6 days a week with different DVDs and I also run. I was getting used to the DVDs I had, so I looked around for a new one. That's when I found "The Biggest Winner."

Each DVD is approx. 30 minutes, but those 30 minutes are intense. I am out of breath after every workout and I usually am never out of breath after working out!

Jillian Michaels is a tough trainer, but motivates you to keep going.

The DVDs are easy to follow and anyone can do them, some people may need to alternate versions of the exercises, but even beginners can finish the DVD.

I highly recommend this set of DVDs if you are looking for something new to add to your exercise regime.

Is Back to the Beach a masterpiece of postmodernism? Or just a slaphappy hoot? Hey, why can't it be both? Either way, this is a zippy tribute to/spoof of the 1960s Beach Party pictures. Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, landlocked in the Midwest since their surfing days, return to the California sun with their wild kids. There are mucho gags about the earlier films (including Frankie on a surfboard in front of a cheesy rear-projection wave), and cameos (much of the Leave It to Beaver cast, surf-guitar king Dick Dale). Pee-wee Herman sails in to perform "Surfin' Bird," and Annette teaches a thousand people "The Jamaican Ska." All that's missing is Erich von Zipper. This is a genuinely smart and funny movie, although it helps to know the original films, so you can savor the moment a beach boy gazes at Annette and marvels, "After all that surfing, her hair's perfectly dry!" --Robert Horton

A classic. Perhaps my favorite movie of all time. Delightful and silly, with fun & lovable characters, a few surprising cameos (OJ!), and a solid soundtrack with plenty of feel-good tunes. SRV and Dick Dale jam together on "Pipeline." Now THAT is cool.

Not Quite up to the Originals..........2006-06-24

This was mildly cute, but, not even close to the humor of the originals, and, didn't even quite follow as a "whatever happened to?" of the characters from the Beach Party movies. First off, Annette's name in the Beach Party movies was Dee Dee (although, Frankie was still Frankie.) This was really a spoof of a spoof, y'know? Because, the beach movies were campy as get out to start with, but, they had an adorable quality to them, and a specific formula: Frankie does something stupid, Dee Dee gets mad. They flirt with other people to make each-other insanely jealous. They make up. (Yes, this happened here, too, but... meh.) And, where was Dead-Head, Animal, Candy, the Von Zipper Gang, for pity's sake? And, what was with Pee Wee Herman??? While the beach movies were made long before I was born, I still grew up watching them on the old movie channels and loved them. This I thought would be great, a "what happened to?". It, however, was a severe disappointment.

Gosh, I love this movie. It was my personal candidate for movie of the year when it came out in 1987. If postmodernism--nicely described by Umberto Eco as the "ironic discovery of the past" or words to that effect--can be absolute pure unadulterated pleasure, this is it. The underlying concept--that the Franklie / Annette beach had not changed an iota since they left--has to be one of the great pop movie ideas of all time. The whole film is beyond criticism--everyone is, quite simply, perfection.

For a really, shall we say, enjoyable double feature, couple this with Psycho Beach Party.

As strange as this project might have seemed to him at the time, the results are pretty impressive. The human side of war.......2007-08-21

This book was very interesting as it describes his entire Army career from North Africa to southern France. It is amazing on how many times he was wounded and barely escaped death from near misses (mortar round landing next to his foot). His courage and ability to survive multiple campaigns definitely makes every one of his awards justly earned and well deserved. Even with is wounds and illnesses, he was able to quickly return to the front line and serve with his fellow front line soldiers.

His camaraderie and loyalty to his squad and platoon is shared through survival and trust. The attrition rate of soldiers in his company was very high, a fact that is somewhat understated in official military records. Official U.S. military records cited in most history books often report those killed in action, but not those who died from accidents or disease. After reading different history books which cite official combat casualties and comparing the first hand accounts of Audie Murphy, it is clear who is telling the truth. The ground soldier states the way it is, the official reports tend to show only a portion of the casualties. Comparing the number of replacements received in a unit versus their combat casualties also paints a better picture of how deadly frontline duty is, from both the enemy and disease. Beyond the Beachhead (about the 29th Infantry Division in Normandy) also describes the high replacement rate for the division.

There are books about soldiers who have received the Medal of Honor, but they only describe that one event where the soldier earned recognition for their valor. This book tells the whole story, from the daily mundane preparation for duty to the fear and worries of watching your battle brothers fall. Very few of the original soldiers in his squad lived to see the end of the war after serving two years in three different campaigns.

The book goes into a lot more detail than the movie as the movie also changed and compressed different events for time. The human side of the war and the personal emotional price paid is described in more detail here. Every friend lost was a part of him that died too.

Good book to add to the collection.

Audie Murphy , my what a great american ,such courageand above all,unconcern for self,love of his family and fellow man and his homeland.
A truly dedicted person to what ever tasked was give to him.
Handsome , youthful , tough , made not be reconized as a great actor , but he puts everything into it, he's got and his natural personality flows making him stand with some of the greats. . Every boy / man should see this movie before he takes a coommittment for his country. The movie is worth putting in your library , its not the modern fake action commando type , but it has a real atmosphere of the guts it takes to be an hero and live to tell.
Giving more respect to our young soldiers of to day who give there lives for freedom. Good movie.

This is an incredible movie. The story of a true American Hero. The fact that it is Audie Murphy's story ensured that it didn't get the "Hollywood Treatment" and is a factual retelling. Unique, and awe inspiring.

Murphy was perhaps the greatest citizen soldier ever. Today, his memory stands as a valuable lesson not only to the American youth, but also for the world as a whole.

Read this book if you wish to have any idea what real men are capable of.

If you've seen one of these movies its likely you've seen them all. And their utter badness is what makes them such classics to own. This is by far the best way to buy them, too. Four movies in one box, you cant get this kind of deal with any other series of films, that's for sure. And the best part about these films, like with the recent film Slither, is thee humor that goes right along. These are not staged horror films, but what could be real people's real reactions to seeing giant monsters. The first is my favorite, and in some people opinion the second might be better... and the third, well the name of the monsters in that movie is priceless, and the fourth, well most historical movies tend to bore me, but its worth seeing how to combat monsters in the old west. If you love sci-fi thats so bad its good than get these!

I've always been a fan of the Tremors series, and I had all the movies on VHS (well, except for #4). The VHS tapes are getting old, so I thought I would upgrade to DVD. This "Attack Pack" was a great value, and I recommend it to any Tremors fans.

My nine year old grandson wanted "Tremors". We purchased the set for his 10th birthday coming up in April. I have seen two of the set on cable. I think he has seen them all. The one with Kevin Bacon was the best in my opinion. As I stated in the title just remember it's only a movie.

This is a really good product, especially for the price. It's a good idea for sci-fi fans. When I got mine, one of the discs was defective, but returning it was no big deal. The second movie is definetly the best, then the first, then the third. The fourth one isn't something I'd pay money for, but it's okay in a box set.

I am a Little House fan--both books and tv shows. I bought this collector's edition just in case they ran out because I wanted The Last Farewell episode. After I watched all three episodes again, I was glad that I spent the money for it. All three were very touching. (I get very emotional when Little House episodes are on.) The manger scene in Bless All the Dear Children and the issue of Albert dying in Look back to Yesterday was emotionally charged (for me, anyway). Imagine sitting with a box of Kleenex (or a roll of TP) while watching these shows.

The BEST Televison series ever.......2007-08-15

I'm a devoted Little House fan. it stands to reason I;'d have to own this final chapter of the most wonderful program ever produced for television. Now this completes my LHOTP set. If you're a die hard fan like myself, or even a casual viewer, you'll want to own this box set. these movies are some of the series most powerful ever. In A Look Back To Yesterday, Matthew Labortaux gives an incredibly heartwrenching performance. Have the Kleenex handy, you'll need it! Michael Landon, as always, delivered a moving performance, (the man was brilliant, what more can I say!) as does Melissa Gilbert. Bless The Dear Children was entertaining, although I'll admit I thought it might have more of a climactic ending, but very enjoyable and watchable in my opinion. My favorite of the three however is The Last Farewell. This was an explosive (no pun intended lol) ending to the most beloved series ever. The acting and the story was unparallel. I loved it from start to finsish. As a bonus the interviews with the two Melissas was wonderful too. get this set if you haven't done so already! Little House was the most wonderful series ever on television.

What can one say about Little House on the Prairie episodes except - wonderful! The series depicts family values many wish were still practiced today. It's a series you'll enjoy from the minute you put it in your DVD player. Enjoy it with your entire family.

Why is this a DVD-R Disc?.......2007-04-20

I bought this from Amazon and the DVD inside was a blue DVD-R with a stick-on color laser-printed DVD label. The DVD-R plays fine and it has the high-quality work of Jim Cramer...but the fact that it is a DVD-R concerns me.
