BRUCE LEE THE INVINCIBLE After turning against friends of his Kung Fu teacher, Cheung Li Kung is banished to Malaysia, but instead of reforming, Cheung sets up a casino to steal wages back from the miners who work for him. When he also kidnaps the local store owner's daughter, and beats her after she refuses his advances, only those familiar with the invincible techniques of Bruce Lee can stop Cheung's evil use of Kung Fu. They must battle the menacing Malaysian bullwhip expert, and even berserk apes, in furious non-stop action that demonstrates the Shaolin Grand Master's deadly dragon fist, snake, and tiger techniques. ©1980 Ocean Shores Video Ltd. Not Bad Kung Fu Movie.......2007-08-20
Bruce Lee was known all over the world as a B movie star. THis kung fu movie isn't as difficult to watch as some of his other stuff like Enter the Dragon. The low rating I got it for cheap, it was an old 1987 issue of the VHS and the English voice overs were poorly matched- deliberately to get the viewer to develop a sense of humor. This is not very good kung fu from Bruce Lee, his best is in Enter the Dragon and Fists of Fury. I like Bruce Lee though as a B movie icon.
Man Fights Teacher, Man Fights Gorillas, Everybody wins.......2007-07-14
Another grand $1 digiview movie, thank you China. This Time Bruce Li, not to be confused with Bruce Lee, or Bruce Lea, but maybe Bruce Le hunts down a renegade Shaolin monk terrorizing a Malaysian town. There is fast fighting, bad dubbing, and splattering gorilla brains. Overall, a good time is had by all.
Not Bruce lee at all.......2007-01-06
I was shocked for th 1st time with Amazon product , since it's not the real Bruce lee movie & the quality of picture was too bad !!
Uneven Production, but with Loads of Kung-Fu Action.......2005-05-17
Lots of kung-fu action, many recognizable faces (Bruce Li, plus just about everybody who starred in Kung Fu, the Invisible Fist), and even familiar dubbed voices (the same guy who dubbed for Bruce Li in Blind Fists of Bruce).
Aside from the sexploitation, ploddingly familiar plot elements, capitalization on just about every occasion to start a fight, and the advent of Malaysian bushmen--and even martial arts apes(!), the film packs plenty of extended fight scenes and decent kung-fu quips.
A shoe-in for at least two Kung-Fu Theater Awards: (1) Best Death-dealing Noogie Administered to a Gorilla, and (2) Best Death Scene by a Gorilla. How the actors kept straight faces in the gorilla scenes is a testament to their severe physical, mental and emotional training: these scenes had me almost rolling on the floor with laughter.
HOTTT...But Why The Gorillas?!?.......2005-02-05
I finally managed to snag this with the Kung-Fu Mania 4 pack today, and having watched it from start to finish...I was impressed with Bruce Lee the Invincible for the simple fact that the only BRUCEploitation about this film are it's title and DVD cover. The movie itself, of course, had nothing to do with Bruce Lee(which in a way in itself is a plus because usually Bruce Li's flicks are an attempted portrayal of Lee or blatant imitation at worst)...but the story is unique, the choreography is on-point, and my man Bruce Li(while not the MAIN character of this flick) renders the best acting and martial arts performance I've seen since he starred in Chinese Connection II(honestly...compared to his other movies, I've never seen my boy throw down so fast...lol). But I DO have to agree with many of the others posts and add that the only reason I didn't go on and give the Invincible a 5 is the whole GORILLA scene. What was really goin' on and what was the director smokin'? I started to cover my eyes and FWD when I 1st heard mention in the flick of the 'big apes,' and when I saw that mess I cringed at how fake they looked and at the fact that the gorillas were knowin' shaolin. AAAAAAAAGH!!!Would've done better as an outtake. But I strongly recommend this movie nonetheless, particularly to the die hard fans of Bruce Li's Chinese Connection II(official sequel to Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection) becuase like in CC2, he's being himself as opposed to trying to fill the Little Dragon's shoes. Compared to CC2, I rate the Invincible a STRONG SECOND.

Product Description
Shaolin master Fok (Sing Chen) banishes his renegade pupil Cheung Li Kung to Malaysia, hoping that Cheung can redeem himself out in the provinces. Defying his master, Cheung quickly sets himself up as the owner of a local mine and casino, exploiting the locals for labor at one and hustling at the other. After Cheung senselessly batters another of Master Fok's students, Fok and his assistant Yu Fong (Bruce Li) take it upon themselves to teach Cheung a lesson. After smashing the casino into a pile of splinters, Fok and Yu chase Cheung into the hills, thinking they finally have him cornered. But Cheung has allies in unexpected places . . . including a pair of gorillas trained in Kung Fu! Up against odds like this, will Master Fok and Yi Fong be able to stop Cheung Li?
Customer Reviews:
Very bad, but still a lot of fun.......2007-05-01
This is a horrible movie about Chan Wei Man learning kung fu and then using his skills for evil. Bruce Li goes to take him down and also to rescue some girl. The only good part about the movie is the number of great kung fu actors. They all are in plenty of fight scenes. San Kwai, Funk Hak-on, Nick Cheung, and Chen Sing also star. The end of the movie is crazy. It is just fight after fight, including Bruce Li fighting a guy in a gorilla costume! A must see for kung fu lovers that also love bad movies. And don't worry, I know everyone is thinking "how could a man defeat a huge gorilla?" Well, luckily Chen Sing is part ape and he shows up to help Bruce Li out. I was pretty scared there for a minute.
1.5/5
This movie is included in the Kung Fu 20 Movie Pack and has watchable picture quality.
