At the time of its original release in 1984, this modestly budgeted sci-fi excursion had the distinction of offering some of the first examples of purely computer-generated animation, an apt (and frugal) special-effects solution for a movie with a plot line rooted in computer games. Both the computer-generated visuals and the arcade game now look quaint, but writer-director Nick Castle's affable, good- hearted adventure holds up nicely, thanks to a clever premise--the title game is actually a test for prospective starship pilots, planted by embattled aliens under siege from an evil invader. When a restless teenager (Lance Guest) racks up an impressive score, he finds himself spirited away to the besieged planet and thrust into the midst of an intergalactic war. Apart from Castle's skill at contrasting his extraterrestrial settings with the mundane details of his hero's earthbound life, the movie gets lift-off from two thorough pros, Robert Preston, who makes the alien recruiter, Centauri, a planet-hopping cousin to The Music Man's Harold Hill, and Dan O'Herlihy, the alien copilot, who suggests a scaly Walter Brennan. Older fans will snicker, but kids and young teens will find this rite of passage absorbing, while their folks will savor Preston's brash charm. --Sam Sutherland

YOU DON'T HAVE THIS?!?!?!?!.......2007-08-13
Good Lord, run right out and get it. If you love the 80's and the glorious fun movies of a gone era. Great story and a true classic. Not too hokey kind of in the guise of Cloke and Dagger and War Games. Good acting, "From the Humans". Truely a rightous movie for the Uber collector!
Great fun to watch over and over.......2007-08-08
This space fantasy offers action, adventure, humor, great characters, and many memorable scenes. Robert Preston's character Centauri is a wonderful parody of his famous portrayal of Professor Harold Hill in "The Music Man." Dan O'Herlihy plays the wise and lovable alien pilot Grig and manages to convey an amazing amount of facial expression through his full-head prosthetic makeup. Catherine Mary Stewart is incredibly appealing as Maggie, the girlfriend next door. Lance Guest does a great job as our hero, the talented, ambitious, but frustrated Alex Rogan who finds himself whisked to another part of the galaxy to join a battle against an evil force that he had thought only existed in a video game. But as Alex learns, Earth's in danger too.
Using computer-generated imagery for all the space scenes was a pioneering move in the mid-1980s when most studios were still using models. Yes, we've come a long way in digital animation since then, but the quality is good enough so that it still holds up well, never detracting from the storytelling. Besides, they never could have used Death Blossom in the battle scene if they had stayed with physical models. (You'll understand when you see it.)
Underneath it all is a dynamic musical score that can stand proudly next to the other space classics. The only thing this movie lacks is a sequel. It leaves you wondering what Alex's next adventure will be.
LAST STARFIGHTER DVD.......2007-08-01
I ORIGINALLY COPIED THIS FILM OFF OF HBO ON MY VCR ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO. WE SAW IT AT THE THEATER TWO TIMES WHEN IT FIRST WAS RELEASED. WE MADE AN AUDIO TAPE OF THE ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK AND MY TWO YOUNGEST KIDS LISTENED TO IT EVERY NIGHT AT BED TIME. I STILL HAVE THE AUDIO COPY, BUT MY VIDEO WORE OUT, SO I HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER COPY.
The Last Starfighter.......2007-07-20
Had this movie before and alway liked it. I wanted a new copy and ordered it on DVD. I like the space the DVD saves.
New Computor animation.......2007-07-14
The Last Starfighter is the first computor graphic space movie. I beleive that it is brilliant due to the technology available when it was made.

It's in the stars ...........2007-08-30
This was a beloved movie on my part, for it's sweet, childlike innocence and wonderful sense of accomplishment. Being this was made in the 80s, several movies following Star Wars had a sci fi theme, were aimed at kids 14 and under, incorporated new technologies (in this case, videogames), and had a happy ending.
Alex is a kid from a trailer park. He is ernest, dependable and hard working, and (talk about science fiction) not white trash in the slightest. His fellow trailer park residents are also, amazingly, not trashy and more like a charming small town of characters. His only escape from his mundane existence, besides his girlfriend Maggie, is his love of the one and only arcade videogame, Starfighter. Because of his agility with the joystick, one day an intergalactic con man named Centari comes to earth and offers him an opportunity to become a starfighter. He leaves a beta unit (a carbon copy of Alex) in his place, and off they go into outerspace. Alex, however, chickens out. He says he doesn't want to be a starfighter, he's not important enough, he's not worthy, etc. And Centari said something that I thought was a bit jeuvenile, but in the recent past I have been shown time and time again that truth is in the simplicity of : "If that's what you think, that's all you'll ever be".
And that is true. You CAN do anything you want. Climb the mountain, travel to distant lands, even save the universe with a videogame. If you want something bad enough, if you work hard, if you put anything and everything you have into whatever it is you want, you'll get it. How many people have I seen not get what they want because they just gave up? They chicken out because they don't have someone else to attempt it with them or because they can't go it alone? Cowardice is always far safer, as Alex shows us, but heroics bring glory, as he later shows us.
The special effects were cutting edge at the time, and now they look silly. But, in a period piece such as this, it's not without it's charm to know that it's just a guy in a rubber mask or primative computer graphics programs. And the comedy antics are always fun, with the Beta Unit's bumbling fish out of water attitude and being clumbsy on earth, as well as Alex's awkwardness while in space. This takes me back to a happy time.

I have no intention of doing away with my dvd collection in favor of buying all those titles again with HD DVD or BluRay discs, but a few dvd's in the collection are worth replacing, and this is one of them. With so much in this movie that is completely cheesy (the scene where the robot clone becomes Alex, covered in some kind of cosmic snot no less, as a case in point), there is still an 80's magic that tugs at my heart and makes me want to share it with the 4 kids I have now. It's a simple story, told before in many different ways in a bevy of genres, with special effects that could have been done on a Mac (it seems like to me)--but I think it is that simplicity in an old fashioned hero's story that makes it attractive as a movie to share with my tweens (if only they can get over themselves and just accept the movie for what it was and is--a reflection of times gone by). I hope they like it as much as I did, even though the bass from the subs in the pickup of Alex's buddy in once scene must be from good ole Spark-O-Matic 5 X 9's instead of the 18" subs the kids are putting in their spare tire sections of their cars today!
Ahhhhhh......The 80's.......2007-07-29
There was a time when video games were so graphically simple it's hard to describe why they appealed to us. But they did; we'd never had anything like them. I know I spent hours putting quarters into astroids and centipede. The basis of this movie starts here, with Alex, a kid from a trailer park who is so good at a video game that he is asked to come and be a pilot in a galactic war. You see, the video games were placed on Earth to find earthlings who would be good at fighting. Of course Alex can't tell his family what he's doing or just disappear, so a robot Alex is left behind for his bewildered family and girlfriend to deal with. While this movie is not original in plotline and the special effects are completely laughable by today's standards, it is a sweet movie from a very important time in my life. I don't know how it will look in 1080p, but I know I've caught reruns on TV through the years and always enjoyed repeat viewing. Not many movies can boast that. Long live the 80s!

"This is going to be the last big score, I promise." Famous last words--uttered by crack thief Doc McCoy to his wife--that set forth a whirlpool of deception and violence in Roger Donaldson's 1994 remake of The Getaway. Bailed out of a Mexican jail by shady businessman Jack Benyon (James Woods) in order to hit an Arizona dog track for him, Doc (Alec Baldwin) and Carol (Kim Basinger) flee for south of the border when the robbery goes wrong, with the million-dollar loot in tow. Following close behind are Benyon's men and Doc's double-crossing partner Rudy (Michael Madsen).
The updated version shares not only the original film's plot, but also the added twist of having husband and wife Baldwin and Basinger step into the roles of the first real-life couple to make the film, Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw. This time, however, the woman's role has been given a tougher '90s edge, with Basinger pulling almost as many punches and firing as many shots as Baldwin, compared to McGraw, who followed McQueen around in wide-eyed, silent terror.
The Getaway maintains the same deliberate, neo-noir pace that made the first film taut, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere in the wide-open, desolate Southwestern landscapes. The scorching sun and heat only add to the strain, making it virtually impossible for anyone to find a dark corner or alleyway to hide in. The car chases and shoot-out finale are charged, though a secondary plot line, between Rudy and the woman he kidnaps and seduces (Jennifer Tilly), comes across as unnecessarily and incongruously brutal. --Natasha Senjanovic
Customer Reviews:
"You Should Have Married a Dentist.".......2007-08-10
Early in this 1994 remake of the 1972 movie "The Getaway" Alec Baldwin (Doc McCoy) tells Kim Bassinger (Carol McCoy) that is she isn't happy with being the wife of a robber that she should have married a dentist. But she didn't and she adapts quite nicely to being a gun moll. She is as good a shot as her husband.
Of course this remake based on Jim Thompson's novel invites comparison with the 1972 Steve McQueen version. Alec Baldwin is certainly no Steve McQueen so he is just a different Doc but in all most every way as effective as McQueen in the original. He is much more emotional with an anger burning just under the surface that erupts often, unlike the taciturn McQueen. Bassinger is even better as his wife Carol and is a much more talented, expansive actress than MacGraw. No cringing vine is she as she gives as good as she gets. James Woods plays the Jack Benyon role here and Philip Seymour Hoffman, before the world knew who he was, is one of the henchmen who works with McCoy on the robbery. In this instance the robbers hit a safe at a dog racetrack rather than a bank. But except for that change and a few minor others, this version sticks closely to the original. One obvious reason is that Walter Hill wrote the screenplay for both movies.
Married in real life, Bassinger and Baldwin burn up the screen in their bedroom scenes. And for those keeping score, there is a lot of Ms. Bassinger to see. My problem with the movie is that I saw it on the heels of watching the McQueen version so there was little if any suspense for me. This of course is no fault of anyone connected with the Bassinger-Baldwin film.
A VERY Good movie!.......2007-05-08
I have never seen the original, but from what I have read it does not compare to this one. Kim and Jennifer are HOT!!! in this movie...especially Kim. This is when Kim was very good looking and the scene of her with her clothes off was worth the price of the DVD. I own this movie and must have watched it about 5 times or more and I never get tired of it. I gave it 4 stars cause I think they should have shown more shots of Jennifer naked. In my opinion this is the one that should be on HD...not the original one.
The Getaway - A great action flick!.......2007-05-03
While "The Getaway" has been widely perceived as a flop of a remake, I've always considered this movie to be one of the better and more intriguing actions flicks of the 90's. The action in this movie is pretty much non stop and only slows down for some intriguing, if not gratuitous, love scenes between the film's two main stars, Alec Baldwin and the ever beautiful Kim Basinger. The film is further enhanced with well played out performances by Michael Madsen, Jennifer Tilly, James Woods and several other bit players.
Although this film was a remake and "generally" followed along the same lines as the original movie, one can definitely say that director Roger Donaldson made this movie his own. Given other film credits such as "No Way Out" and "The Bounty," I'd definitely put this film amongst his best list. The score for the film plays into the film rather seamlessly.
The Premise:
Master criminal Doc McCoy (Alec Baldwin) and his wife, Carol (Kim Basinger) find themselves in the position of having to do "one" last job after Carol negotiates Doc's way out of a Mexican prison. What follows is no less than an exceptional action flick with all the usual tricks; gun battles, betrayal, car chases and a memorable performance by Jennifer Tilly playing a sexy twit.
Overall, this film delivers both drama and action quite well and it effortlessly pushes from scene to scene leading up to an excellent finale. I would highly recommend this film to any and all. {ssintrepid}

Getaway 1972 vs. Getaway 1994!!.......2007-04-16
Both Getaway movies have the same screenplay writen by Walter Hill, both have the slow-mo action and basically they are the same, BUT here are the differences:
Getaway 1972:
* Steve McQueen is WAY COOLER than Alec Bladwin.
* Rudy and his girl are more evil here.
* The car chase scene is at midnight.
* There is no STUPID dog race scene, only a bank robbery scene.
* The characters here are more quiet.
* The first getaway scene is COOLER and EXPLOSIVE!
* The train scene here is a CLASSIC.
* The slap scene is more intense here.
* The jail scenes here are longer.
Getaway 1994:
* There are more emotional scenes in this one.
* Kim Basinger's character is tougher and hotter!
* There are MORE celebrities here than in the original.
* The car chase scene was longer.
* There are sex scenes in this one.
* There is more blood and foul language here than in the original.
* They added one made-up action scene in the begining.
* There is a one to one fight between Rudy and Doc.
In my opinion the Getaway 1972 is better because SteveMcQueen is SOO COOL! you can watch the 1994 remake if you want to but that one is more like a normal action movie than a CLASSIC action movie.
Adios.
The Getaway, The Remake.......2007-04-04
I thought the movie was as good as Steve McQueen's movie, which was also
excellent.

Three brothers (Nicolas Cage, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey) with a streak of lawbreaking in them head to a small town in Pennsylvania called Paradise, intending to rob a ripe bank there. But the people in the community turn out to be so nice that the thought of ripping them off proves difficult to imagine. The three leads each get to do their uniquely comic shticks, and that makes this film marginally watchable. But the pace is enervating and the story's main idea isn't all that well developed. --Tom Keogh

Great Product.......2007-01-20
I am very pleased with this product it arrived even earlier than expected and was a great surprise for Christmas! I will use amazon again!
A movie deserving of more attention .......2005-09-21
My wife and I enjoyed this movie to rate as one of our
favorites. When you think about this movie, remember
the funny lines and mannerisms from the characters that
didn't need sex or swearing to make this movie oveall
just enjoyable. This movie brought humor and a warm
side to the story. Dana Carvey, nailed this performance
as the total idiot brother, and to see Cages frustration
in dealing with his siblings. It's amazing how many people
never saw or heard of this movie. Definitely a movie that
deserves praise...I rated this movie a 5 for its creativity
without having to bring profanity, violence, or sex to the
screen.
Hilarious and charming at the same time..........2005-02-14
This little known movie is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's great for the holidays but charming enough for anyone at anytime.
If you want to laugh out loud for two hours - watch this movie. It will instantly become a family favorite, especially at Christmas...
CAGE IN A GILDED PARADISE.......2005-01-22
TRAPPED IN PARADISE is a surprisingly charming and fun to watch movie, that could be enjoyed at Christmas or any time of year. The movie has the feel of one of those forties or fifties charmers, where the bad guys aren't so bad and they become good guys once they realize what life is really all about.
While the leads (Nicolas Cage, Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz) are all very good, the movie's heart lies in the supporting performances: Florence Stanley as the boys' potty-mouthed mom; Donald Moffatt and Angela Paton as the Andersons, the bank president and his wife who unbeknownst to them are having the bank robbers for Christmas dinner; Madchen Amick (Twin Peaks) as the convict's sweet daughter; John Ashton as the redneck deputy; and Richard Jenkins as the putupon FBI agent. The scene where the bus depot clerk gives the duplicitous Cage enough money to get his ticket home is heart tugging, showing just how nice the people of Paradise really are.
Goofy and off the wall, TRAPPED IN PARADISE worms its way into your heart and is one of those critically panned movies that is much better than they thought! Enjoy!
Not sure why this movie is so disliked.......2004-12-08
Way back in 1990 something when this movie came out, it was screened as a student feature at the college I was attending at the time prior to it's release in theathers. I went with a good friend of mine, and we seemed to be the only people in the theater laughing. After the movie hit theaters, all of the reviews were negative as if the movie featured a cast of unknowns instead of three very well established entertainers, two of whom are very gifted comedians. While all three actors have had better roles, they work well together with Cage being the straight man to Lovitz and Carvey's comedic banter. Yes, I realize that the premise of this movie is somewhat far fetched, but that's why it's a movie and not a news story. The movie has its fair share of laughs with a healthy dose of Christmas spirit. It gets watched every holiday season at my house, and I recommend it to anyone who is capable of watching a movie and being OK with the fact that it is a work of FICTION! Anyway, enjoy the movie, the calesthenics schtick by Lovitz during the bank robbery alone is worth the price of admission.

Last Muskateer.......2007-05-11
The movie was fantastic and got here in record time. I know I can go to Amazon and get products you can't find anywhere else. Robson Green is a god.
School of Rock with class!.......2007-04-27
It's the quintessential school of rock story, but more about the teacher and his issues than the students themselves. Plus a love story to boot. That said I don't know that I would call this a chick flick, though it does have Robson Green (yum). It's got wonderful acting, strong story plot and people that actually fence, not actors that learned for the role (or so it appears to me). Very unique story out of the UK, that I think that everyone would enjoy.

As they celebrate their high school graduation, four friends are involved in a hit-and-run accident when their car hits--and apparently kills--a pedestrian on an isolated roadway. They dispose of the body and vow to keep the incident a secret, but a year later somebody starts sending them letters bearing the warning "I Know What You Did Last Summer." At that point the panicked foursome becomes the target of an elusive serial killer whose disguise consists of a fisherman's slicker and a lethal ice hook. Part mystery and part slasher flick, this thriller was heavily hyped as a follow-up to Scream by screenwriter Kevin Williamson (who later created the TV series Dawson's Creek), and like Scream it's a showcase for a teenage cast including Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar. And while this shocker isn't as inspired as Scream, it's guaranteed to give its target audience a few good thrills as it dives toward a routine climax of mayhem and murder. Based (rather loosely) on the popular novel by Lois Duncan. --Jeff Shannon
Customer Reviews:
I had to work all last summer, just so you know!.......2007-08-20
Not a bad film, it tries to bring about a nostalgia to it in terms of old skool teen screamer movies. The cast is actually really good but the whole raincoat guy with the hook thing was a bit much. I guess the whole point was to bring about the urban legend and make it a reality within this film.
It is good and so is the second one but I just got finished watching the last one of this trilogy and it is retarded. None of the original cast is there and people get really dumb. I mean, like the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre you know, there is 20 miles of open land all around and some guy with a limp is chasing you so you run around a house three times? Well I don't mean to knock TCM in this review because it had some good parts. I just hope they do not let Rob Zombie direct "I think we are screwed this summer" because it would really cause me to hurl. Jennifer Love Hewitt is in this and it was after she dumped Carson Daly, I like the way she said he was a jerk, she did not use that language but you know what I am saying, I believe in treating people with respect and the fact Daly did not realize what he had was typical of his type. Well have fun out there in TVland and enjoy finding out what happens to these kiddies that summer!
Surprisingly good........2007-07-20
I Know What You Did Last Summer is probably most known as the movie that launched the acting careers of 4 young Hollywood actors. Most don't consider this movie to be at all scary. However, I don't find it as bad as others do.
So what's this movie about? It starts out with a group of friends who accidentally hit a pedestrian and decide to dispose of the body. They vow to keep it a secret but they learn a year later that they weren't the only ones who know what happened. A serial killer is out to get them and the rest of the movie has the cast running away from the fish hook-wielding psycho.
What's to like about this movie? Although I didn't find the killer to be scary whatsoever, the writers did a great job in building suspense and keeping you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. This is what truly makes a great scary movie. Furthermore, all along, this movie has you guessing and reguessing the identity of the killer. The ending is quite interesting and it will have you biting your nails when everything is uncovered.
And what's not to like? Look, this movie was released in 1997, 10 years ago. The movie industry obviously has come out with better storylines and better technology-related ideas since this movie came out. I don't think the storyline is unique whatsoever. I don't think the acting is all that great. I DO consider this film to be a sort of classic "scary" movie and at the time of its release, it scared the bejeezus out of people. Even to this day, I still enjoy watching it with the knowledge that it's more real than horror movies that have been recently released.
Bottom line, if I could, I would have given this movie 3.5 stars rather than 4. It's pretty good considering it came out 10 years ago. People looking for a good scare will enjoy this film.
jeee wizzz this film is trite and trivial: A ' 0' Star.......2007-05-25
The acting is beyond laughable. I would assume the majority of the individuals who shelled out 10.00 to see this in the theatres and made it gross the amount of loot it did, are the same ones who live in towns like Pawtucket, Rhode Island and New Bedford, MA and Hampton Beach, NH.
oh dear, truly, absolutely, without any question whatsoever: this is a total joke. Grody and simply unbearable.
If Only.... They were all this original!.......2007-01-07
Without a doubt one of my favourite horror movies I have ever seen. The premise is original as well as interesting.
The core ensemble consisting of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillipe are thrown into a terrifying quest to survive when they begin to recieve letters regarding an incident that happened the year before, involving the core cast.
The highlights of the movie would be the originality of the whole thing and the cast of actors whom at the time were upcoming talented actors..
And not to mention that Sarah Michelle Gellar has one of if not the most nail biting and amazing chase scenes in the history of horror films.
In conclusion a film that is definetly worth viewing just avoid the pathetic sequel attempts!
Nothing is scarier than Freddie Prinze Jr's acting........2007-01-05
There are only two good things about this movie: one, the pure novelty of seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Love Hewitt in the same movie, and two, the great music (cool soundtrack, plus an actual appearance by Southern Culture on the Skids). Other than that, this is pretty darn bad. Although, I have to say that the laughably awful performance from Freddie "one facial expression for every occasion" Prinze Jr. can be really entertaining, but for all the wrong reasons. Also, this movie has what is probably the most ridiculous scene in the history of movies: the scene in which Jennifer Love Hewitt kind of starts to freak out, and the blonde dude grabs her and is practically strangling her, and her idiot boyfriend (Prinze, naturally) is just standing there like a dumb@ss watching him do it. Man, if anyone even thought about touching my girlfriend like that, I'd break his arm at the very least, I don't care if he's my friend or not. Well, at least they made fun of how dumb it was in "Scary Movie".
So anyway, yeah, one star for me. This was even worse than "Scream" (at least that one had a cool opening scene). My advice is to pick up the soundtrack, and leave the movie on the shelf.

Description
Steven Goodson (The Wonder Years' Fred Savage), a nice guy whose dark side emerges when he's dumped by his gorgeous girlfriend in this quirky, sexy comedy. His best friend (Steven Pasquale, TV's Rescue Me), miserably tied down to a wealthy fiancee (Amy Adams, Junebug), urges him to get over his heartbreak by sleeping with as many women as he can. Though he's reluctant at first, Steven hilariously transforms himself from the perfect boyfriend into a heartless dating machine and embarks on an erotic journey through a world of hot strippers, high-priced hookers and unreformed sex addicts. Ironically, the only hope to save his soul lies with a sentimental elementary school teacher who believes in "taking it slow."

Worth renting, not buying.......2007-07-15
I wouldn't sing hosannas about The Last Run, but I did enjoy it, The writing is clever and the characterizations, though rendered in shorthand, were clear and interesting. The ending is kind of hard to believe but you do find yourself hoping it could come true.
Worth renting, not buying.
Wow, horrible. What the heck are the other reviewers thinking........2007-07-14
Wow, from what it looks like, so far I am in the minority, but this film was bad. Very bad. Sorry Fred Savage, this is now wonder, and it makes me think you should have packed it away years ago. I do sincerely like Fred savage, he is a decent actor, but wow, horrible film. Just dumb. Yeah, break-ups are hard, but gez man, have some confidence and self esteem. And the Ending...What the heck, she gave him a chance again....come on, seriously, is her self esteem that low that she thinks she can get no one else. Wow. Disfunction at it's finest. Eject the brain on this one, I just can't be dumb enough to like it. Thank goodness I rented this one...everyone else should avoid it. Now I am going to go get a lobotomy to remove the scaring memory of this stinker.
The Funniest Movie I've Seen This Year!!!!.......2007-06-28
I heard about this film, and now that I've finally seen it, "The Last Run" is better than I even imagined. I saw "Knocked Up" with my girlfriend the day it opened and thought that was the funniest film I'd seen in a while. But "The Last Run" was even funnier! Fred Savage is in rare top-notch form, Steven Pasquale is ten times better than Paul Rudd, and Amy Adams has never looked better. "The Last Run" is smart and edgy, the writing is incredibly sharp, the directing is captivating and well honed (I particularly like how the evolution of Savage's sexual beast, rousing from flickers of addiction into full-scale personification, is teased out over the course of the first two thirds until ultimately reaching a well earned boiling point). This is a film that should have been released on 3000 screens and grossed $100 million. I'm going to watch it again and again because there are so many lines that are sure to become classics. I hope that this film gives Fred Savage a whole new career because his talents as a comedic actor have been overlooked. Whatever films you see this summer, make sure "The Last Run" is on your list.
off the charts funny!.......2007-06-01
I saw a screening of this a little while back at a film festival mainly because I'm a huge Wonder Years fan. This movie is absolutely hilarious.
The basic premise is Fred Savage finds out his girlfriend of several years is cheating on him so his best friend tells him to go have sex with as many women as he can to get over her. This movie is very funny, but not stupid humor, there are some really smart moments in it. Plus there are tons of really hot women in it, which is always a good thing.
Every guy in the audience will find themselves nodding as Steve (Savage) goes through many of the same situations that you have also whether it be being dumped, shutdown by a girl at a bar, or just hate your job and your boss. I rarely write movie reviews on here because so many people do but this movie might get missed and I think its an instant classic in the making.

A GOOD BRITISH CRIME FILM.......2007-07-13
"Shadow Run" isn't a great crime film on the order of "Get Carter" or "The Long Good Friday," but it is an enjoyable enough tale of a heist gone wrong. The great pleasure of the film is, of course, Michael Caine, one of the few actors who can be equally effective as good guy or bad. Here, he plays Haskell, a very bad man who's teamed up with an even badder man to loot a vanload of banknote paper. What could have been a "by-the-numbers" shoot-em-up is helped immeasurably by a sub-plot involving the nastiness that goes on in a British public school. The school and robbery subplots converge in a satisfying way, and no one can purr out a terrifying threat better than Sir Michael.
Description
Hun is a man on a mission. In order to save himself he must first save the Shredder's daughter, Karai, from the clutches of the mysterious Bishop, a black ops agent with an even blacker heart. However, unknown to Hun, brilliant mad genius Baxter Stockman, seeking revenge on Hun, anonymously clues the Turtles into Huns plans, hopefully sabotaging the mission so that neither Hun nor Karai will come back alive. This action-packed TMNT DVD also features Mikey defending his BattleNexus championship, an alien invasion that's not what it appears to be, the hero known only as Nobody, and the Ruse of the Purple Dragons.
Customer Reviews:
Whoo! 6 episodes!.......2006-08-11
Once upon a time, 4Kids was extremely stingy and only let Funi put 3 episodes on each dvd, a real kick in the face to fans and parents looking for inexpensive entertainment for their kids. After awhile the episode count rose to 4, then a respectable 5, and now finally a pretty good 6. The only downside is that like most of the recent volumes, these episodes jump back and forth between the third and fourth seasons, killing the intricate continuity TMNT has established. The episodes are:
Hun on the Run - Bishop has taken Karai hostage, and Hun is sent by the Shredder to rescue her. The Turtles get caught in the middle. This is an excellent example of how good the series can get, with an intense fight sequence on Bishop's train featuring very good cheoregraphy. Plus, who doesn't love Bishop?
Nobody's Fool - The Turtles join forces with a vigilante named Nobody (the show's Batman equivalent) to stop a deadly arms shipment. Adapted from the original comics. Nice stand-alone story that also ties into Shredder's season 3 scheming.
Grudge Match - Mikey is forced back into the Battle Nexus to defend his title, which he won on technicality. A nice follow up to the original Battle Nexus storyline.
A Wing and Prayer - The Turtles help a superhero from an Avian race defend his kingdom in the sky against his mortal enemy. Interesting concept that spins-off from the "Notes From the Underground" plot, but it feels like a showcase for the jetpack action figures.
Aliens Among Us - Bishop fakes an alien invasion to scare the US President into funding his operations. An excellent story that sets up the "Outbreak" plot thread of season 4.
Dragons Rising - Hun is taking the Purple Dragons to new criminal heights, while Casey wants to settle an old score. An okay episode, but it feels too similar to past Casey/Hun stories.
Overall I liked 4 stories and found 2 mediocre, but for six episodes you can't go wrong. Recommended.
Ok, so looks like we get the last two eps of season III that finally complete said collection!.......2006-04-28
So what's in store for us Tmnt fans on this five episode Dvd. Well, the title episode in which Hun must rescue Shredder's "Daughter" from special agent Bishop. Nobody's Fool in which Leo and Mikey must help a new companion stop some run of the mill baddies. But Shredder and Hun make a brief appearance, and we see more of Shredder's plan to salvage alien tech for some nasty purpose. I ain't spoiling it for ya if you haven't seen it already, folks. We also get Aliens Among Us in which Bishop creates his own breed of alien to insure the continuation of his Earth Protection Program. And two other eps. Hope one is Insane in the Membrane, but who knows? Get it! Comes out the 16th of May. I'll probably preorder it on this thing since Amazon is freakin sweet!
