As a screenwriter, Shane Black made millions of dollars from screenplays for the big-budget action movies Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout, among others. With his directing debut Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Black mocks and undercuts every cliche he once helped to invent. While fleeing from the cops, small time hood Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey Jr., Wonder Boys) stumbles into an acting audition--and does so well he gets taken to Hollywood, where--pursuing a girl he loved in high school (foxy Michelle Monaghan, North Country)--he gets caught up in twisty murder mystery. His only chance of getting out alive is a private detective named Gay Perry (Val Kilmer, Wonderland, The Doors), who sidelights as a consultant for movies. No plot turn goes untweaked by Black's clever, witty script, and Downey, Kilmer, and Monaghan clearly have a ball playing their screwball variations on action movie stereotypes. There's nothing profound about Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, but it brings back wicked mischief to a genre that all often takes itself too seriously. --Bret Fetzer

2 out of 5 stars Over the Hill Gang.......2007-08-16

It would be nice if every actor could age gracefully, like Sean Connery. But time is not always that kind and in this movie we have a collection of actors who just look awful compared to our memories of 30 years ago. If we had never seen them when they were young, it probably wouldn't bother us that this or that character looks burnt-out or bloated or bald. But since we do remember what they used to look like, it is hard to not be distracted from the story by thinking how awful they look now.

3 out of 5 stars Entertaining.......2007-08-10

This is the kind of movie that would have been really hip about 15 years ago. You know what I'm talking about: the kind of modern post-Tarantino movie that first started appearing when we were in high school. Stuff shown slightly out of order, esoteric Seinfeild-like conversations at key dramatic points, and a main character who is aware that he is part of a movie and often addresses the camera or takes over the narration. Part "Pulp Fiction", part "Get Shorty", part "Fight Club."

Despite the fact that all the cool kids quit watching these kind of movies years ago, I still think they're great popcorn flicks. When I want to come home and relax, this is exactly the kind of move I look for. Simple enough that I can turn off most of my brain, and yet with enough twists, sharp editing, and funny voice over narration to cater to my ruined attention span. Perfect for just shoving in the popcorn

I wouldn't really recommend this movie, and yet the two hours I spent watching it were pleasant enough. It's not the best movie in its genre, and often it seems like it is trying too hard to be funny. Robert Downy Jr. as the main character/ narrator sometimes seems like he's doing his Woody Allen impression as an incredibly verbose narrator who runs every joke into the ground. Whether that's his fault, or just the script they gave him, I'm not sure, but often through the course of this movie I felt myself feeling embarrassed on behalf of Robert Downy Jr. But that's part of the fun of this movie as well; the perverse pleasure of seeing another human being make a fool of himself.

And some parts of the movie were actually kind of funny. I've definitely seen a lot worse in my time.

5 out of 5 stars Holy M'f^%^ing God.......2007-07-18

Funniest movie EVER!! Ok, crude at times. Little dark, little violent, but goofy as heck. Yeah. I'm not being coherent.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely loved this movie! Witty dialogue, wild action and a fun ride for movie-lovers!.......2007-06-18

Writer Shane Black has always crafted stories that may be a little too quirky and over-the-top for the mass audience, but I love his love for film and talent for dialogue which are on display in his directorial debut.

After a botched robbery, the RDJ character stumbles into a film audition, which leads to an LA oddessey. In the course of it, bullets, dead bodies and a severed finger start to pile up, as the case turns into a cheap detective novel - not unlike the kind the characters riff about in the movie.

I found "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" to be a real treat for cinema-philes who like smart characters and a bit of the "breaking the fourth wall" feel. Admittedly, the plot is a little loose, and really only exists to facilitate the action (Noires sometimes have plot issues - see The Big Sleep & Night Moves for examples - so many twists). The movie takes itself just seriously enough to be wild but coherent. The "LA flare" and the fact that the actors seem to be having so much fun made this a fun view for me. RDJ & Val Kilmer (who steals a few scenes of his own) are great together, and Michelle Monaghan was witty, fun and nice to look at. This is the kind of fun film experience I enjoy & miss in the garbage they churn out in Hollywood now - really dug it.

Wow! If they had left the "F" word out of this movie, there wouldn't have been much dialog!!!! Could have been great, but our poor ears were cringing! Not even funny. What a disappointment. There are a lot better comedies out there.

Italian exploitation legend Umberto Lenzi birthed the cannibal subgenre of Italian horror with Deep River Savages, but he turned out one of the so-called classics of the genre with this 1981 effort, a blunt, brutal story of five New Yorkers who face the wrath of angry Amazon cannibals. Three completely clueless would-be anthropologists set out to disprove the racist myth of tribal cannibalism perpetuated by colonial Europeans. Turning a blind eye to danger at every turn, they join up with a pair of drug-crazed psychos on the run from supposed cannibals (in truth, the reign of terror has been perpetrated solely by greedy Americans) and then wait patiently for the bloody vengeance of the tribal survivors. Lenzi is no stylist, and his attempts at irony are crude at best, but he delivers all he promises (or threatens): evisceration, emasculation, gouged eyeballs, and a sick twist on the initiation scene from A Man Called Horse. His generous budget allowed him to shoot on location in South America and New York (where a police detective searches for the homicidal drug dealer in a subplot) and lavish attention on his carnage, elevating it to near cult status. More than simply gory, this is a sadistic, cynical, mean-spirited film, for hardcore fans of the genre only.

Lenzi and star John Morghen (the only animated actor in the otherwise flat cast) offer commentary on an alternate track, but Lenzi is all but unintelligible through his thick accent at times. A supplemental interview with Lenzi is helpfully translated by his interviewer. --Sean Axmaker

2 out of 5 stars Why the hell was this ever banned.......2007-08-12

The cover of this movie states that it was banned in 31 counties. I want to know what countries. There is pretty much no reason why this flim should of ever been banned.

I did slightly enjoy this film but it was not what I was expecting. I went into this film thinking it was going to be an awsome gore-fest, but I was wrong. Sure there were a few good scenes for all gore lovers to enjoy. Like the hooks through the boobs or the guy getting the top of his head sliced off and his brains eaten. But it is not worth sitting through a lot of boreing dilouge just to watch it. The actors in this film seemed to be slightly retarded, like if you see a dead body in a village of cannibals, why the hell would you decide to stay the night with them? Your just asking to be eaten.

1 out of 5 stars Bad.......2007-07-19

This movie was just bad! Bad acting, bad special effects and bad direction. I wanted to see something diffrent, something that would shock me or gross me out and went with some of the reviews and was disappointed when I saw this junk.

2 out of 5 stars Rent It First.......2007-06-02

The hype that surrounds this movie is way too high. The acting sucks and the FX are terrible. The popcorn I ate while watching this were really good though.

5 out of 5 stars Classic!.......2007-05-12

Cannibal flicks always go a little further than your average Italian gore-fest and are definitely my favorites, because when I watch a horror movie I want to be rupulsed and disgusted(see definition of horror)I don't want to see little creepy kids that they put in every pop-horror movie now, that [...] doesn't scare me, this scares me. Not on the same level as "Cannibal olocaust" but pretty close. THIS IS REAL HORROR!

1 out of 5 stars Beware: Animal Cruelty.......2007-05-12

I love gory movies (Zombie, Re-Animator) and this one was kind of cool until some characters started chopping off the parts of a real turtle. It was upsetting. There should be a warning for this kind of material. Just a heads up in case you're gonna buy it. (I've read that Cannibal Holocaust also has animal cruelty, but I haven't seen it.)

5 out of 5 stars The 2 Greatest Stars of Mexican Cinema.......2007-04-08

One doesn't usually associate director Ismael Rodriguez with Technicolor and CinemaScope, rather with the earlier b&w Pedro Infante films like "Nosotros los Pobres," and "Los Tres Garcia," but this film has brilliant color, spectacular scenic vistas, and is gorgeous to look at, and one wishes it would be released in widescreen to fully appreciate the beauty of its Oaxacan landscape and the many historic landmarks. "Tizoc" is also special because it stars the two most renown actors of the Epoca de Oro of Mexican filmmaking, Pedro Infante and Maria Felix. Infante plays Tizoc, a humble but noble native of royal bloodlines, hated by the rest of the Mixteca villagers because he is not from the same tribe, and despised by the white man because of being "indio." When Tizoc first sees Maria, the headstrong, artist daughter of a landowner, he thinks she is the Virgen Maria, and then when Maria, ignorant of a local custom, gives him her handkerchief to wipe some blood from an injury, he falls hopelessly in love with her. Maria is engaged to handsome Capitan Arturo (Eduardo Fajardo), and trying to sort out the confusions and errors of many is Fray Bernardo (Andres Soler, excellent as the "Padrecito").

A lot of the dialogue is in a semi-dialect but is understandable, and the film has a certain stiffness to it (perhaps because Infante walks with a slight stoop and bent knees!), but nevertheless it has loads of charm, and is endearing due to Tizoc's sweet soul and his ability to converse with animals, which makes him poetic and intuitive. Maria Felix as always looks like a goddess, and her presence fills the screen like few superstars have managed to do. With the exception of one short scene which alternates betwen being a little too dark and a little too light, the film is in very good condition. Alex Phillips did the glorious cinematography, Raul Lavista the interesting score, where birdsongs are the main focus of the soundtrack, and "Tizoc" won a Golden Globe Award in 1958 for Best Foreign Language Film, as well as many other awards, like a Golden Ariel for Ismael Rodriguez, and a Silver Award for Best Actor at the 1957 Berlin International Festival, given to Infante posthumously. Pedro Infante (1917-1957) crashed his plane near Merida in the Yucutan, and 50 years after his passing, still reigns supreme in the hearts of millions.

The movie itself is fantastic. I lowered my rating by a star due to the so-so quality of the print. Some scenes are so overexposed, you only make out silhouettes.

Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Pretty Tame.......2007-08-18

The killings are really not brutal, nor is it overly graphic. This is certainly a low budget affair. Though horror fans will recognize a few cult famous actors, they will be disappointed by the poor writing they have to work with. The film really isn't scary, it doesn't wallow in buckets of blood and nudity. It is a picture that really wants to be a great crime drama wrapped in a slasher shell. It really fails on many levels. I don't recommend this one even as a rental.

1 out of 5 stars Worse than a B rated slasher.......2007-07-13

I thought Turista was bad - how wrong I was b/c Brutal is even worse. The movie is slow and I've forgotten what a bad B movie is like. Don't bother with the movie and don't consider it a rental.

2 out of 5 stars Don't Let The Title Fool You.......2007-07-12

Brutal is quite possibly one of the worst slasher movies out there, mainly because for most of its running time it forgets that it's a dumb slasher movie. It takes itself too seriously and focuses too much of its time on an adulterous couple, and on shoddy detective work.
B-movie legends Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator) and Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes; The Devils Rejects) both star, but they turn in disappointing performances. Perhaps its because both of their characters are so badly written.
However, Brutal does have a few bloody good deaths, and I've seen worse. So I'm going to be nice and give it two stars.

Yul Brynner replaces Lee Van Cleef in the title role for 1971's Adios, Sabata, the second and best entry in producer Alberto Grimaldi's spaghetti Western trilogy about the mysterious stranger with an unknown past and a penchant for righteousness, as long as there's serious cash involved. While some fans will miss Van Cleef's iconic performance, Brynner is just as good, even without the tongue-in-cheek attitude affected by the once and future Sabata (Van Cleef took over the part again for Return of Sabata, also released in '71). In fact, with his all-black outfit (replete with open-necked, fringe-bedecked shirt and a ten-foot scarf draped over one shoulder) and gold-plated rifle (equipped with a machine gun-like clip that only enhances his jaw-dropping marksmanship), this is a very cool Yul indeed, notwithstanding a somewhat androgynous vibe (not that there's anything strange about a gunslinger who plays Schubert on the piano, but…). What's more, the film is several notches above both its predecessor (1969's Sabata) and its successor in almost every way; it's wittier, the editing and continuity are superior, the direction's more assured (Gianfranco Parolini, aka Frank Kramer, helmed all three installments), the stunts are more convincing, and the action comes fast and furious (though the fighting scenes aren't especially graphic, the body count is very high). Many of the same actors from the first one reappear here, albeit in different roles, and the story is formulaic--like Sabata, this one involves our hero and his trusty sidekicks attempting to relieve the bad guys of a load of loot that the villains stole in the first place. But Adios, Sabata also has a political element, insofar as the enemy, led by the truly evil Col. Skimmel (Gerard Herter), are occupying Austrians trying to suppress some noble Mexican revolutionaries fighting to keep their country free. As is the case with MGM's DVD releases of all three Sabata movies, there are no bonus features. --Sam Graham

2 out of 5 stars potential 4 stars minus 2 for Yule's costume.......2007-08-14

Who is this guy? He is not Sabata. Sabata was cool

Adios Sabata proves that just one seemingly innocuous thing can just about ruin an entire film - something - lets say - like a costume. Someone decided that poor Yule wear a cross between a Las Vegas show costume and an S&M outfit complete with outrageously long tassels a plunging neck line and flared pants. This is so embarrassingly uncool for a Spaghetti western anti-hero that it almost ruins the entire film. Otherwise the film is actually not bad - it has a coherent plot and lots of action and color. Adios Sabata has a darker tone then the original Sabata due to Brunner's hard nosed performance, political overtones and ultra cruel bad guy. The film is even more tongue in cheek and looks more expensive then Sabata. There are more plot twists, acrobats, outlandish gimmicks and gadgets. Yule's overly series performance in that outfit just doesn't make it as Sabata although the rest of the cast is excellent. The soundtrack by Bruno Nicolai is one of his best and perfect spaghetti western fair. The film could have been great.

Description

A group sets out to excavate dinosaur fossils in the Brazillian Amazon, but they get much more than they bargained for. On route, the plane crashes, the group, which includes a psycopath and quite a few voluptous ladies, is forced to fend for itself as it searches for a path back to civilization. The team comes across cannibals, wild beasts and slave traders. This walk through the jungle includes gore, violence and quite a bit of raunchy sex.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Yes, this is exactly what a B-movie should be!.......2007-06-12

I got this flick as part of a three-pack and wasn't sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! Suzanne Carvalho running around in the jungle topless, bondage, kinkiness, girls in peril, fisticuffs, explosions, shooting, Suzanne Carvalho, smart-aleck humor, and Suzanne Carvalho. Too bad she didn't make more flicks.

5 out of 5 stars Into the Jungle!.......2007-06-12

As with Suzanne Carvalho's other films, this movie is a pure gem. It may be an imported film, but it has a great storyline. The movie tells the tale of a group of people who are interested in visiting Dinosaur Valley,an ancient and exciting jungle. However, the trip becomes a fight for survival as the plane goes down and the survivors must fight for their lives. The deaths are gruesome and the fights are breathtaking, and the special effects are worth every penny. The characters are great, and the action is exciting. It all leads to a deadly showdown between the final survivors and a group of cannibals who want to offer up the women for sacrifice. Gunshots and arrows clash, and many people are killed. This movie is a great Brazillian hit and you'll love it.

5 out of 5 stars Quite a Gem.......2006-07-09

I've seen bad movies in my life and time. I mean really bad stinkers. Some movies you love because they are bad, some movies you want to slam your head against the wall (in comparison to having to watch the movie again). After watching Massacre in Dinosaur Valley and then watching the interview with Michael Sopkiw, I have to say this is a true jewel of a movie--the movie is bad in all the good ways. The action hero of this film, Michael Sopkiw, is someone you enjoy watching moving around, beating the bad guys up, and winning the girls. The women, mind you, are very lovely indeed. The story itself is not really there. I mean really...look at the title of the movie. You watch this kind of film for the pure mindnumbing adventure that leaves you wanting to watch it again and again. The movie itself has a bit of everything. Not really a "Cannibal Inferno" like the label on the DVD case speaks of, I'd say the "cannibal" portion is ... ah...maybe twenty or so minutes (give or take). The movie is really a bit of vignettes--one small story after the next wrapped around a plane crash and a need to get out of the jungles. All in all, I really think that if you enjoy really bad adventure movies, if you are the kind of chap or lass who enjoys watching goofy t&a, good fight scenes where the good guy pulls off the fight against the bad guys at the very end, then you'll enjoy watching this Michael Sopkiw film.

4 out of 5 stars Jurassic Park 4 ! (just kidding).......2006-05-11

First off if your looking for another italian cannibal movie ( why? )this is not it.Massacre in Dinosaur Valley is more of a jungle adventure. The jist of the movie is a professor, his daughter,an archeologist,a Vietnam Vet and his wife plus some models!? go to a valley in the jungle to dig up bones and take pictures of the models with them.Yeah right.Anyway the plane crashes of course and they run into a crazy Marlon Brando type dude.I kinda liked this movie because it was different than most italian cannibal movies. It's the kind of movie you might find on the dusty bottom self of the horror section in the video store.Plus I have to mention the interview with Michael Sopkiw. This was a very good extra as he recalls his career with a good memory and sense of humor.I think i'll add a star because it was not so boring like you get with so many of these extras.

1 out of 5 stars DULL !!!!.......2005-06-24

MASSACRE IN DINOSAUR VALLEY IS NOT WHAT YOU WOULD THINK. WELL OKAY MAYBE IT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU THINK, HOWEVER ON THE BACK OF THE DVD IT GAVE YOU THE IDEA THAT THIS WAS A CANNIBAL MOVIE THEY ALSO GAVE YOU THE IDEA THAT THIS WAS AN ACTION MOVIE,CRAP!!!! THE MOVIE CONTAINED NO GORE NO STORY NO ACTION AND JUST PLAIN DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE THE MOVIE IS ABOUT SOME IDIOT'S THAT CRASHED LANDED IN SOME CURSED VALLEY (WHY THE VALLEY IS CURSED I HAVE NO IDEA)THEN THEY START TO RUN FROM SOME NOISE ALL OVER THE JUNGLE THEN SOME JERK START RELIVING THE GLORY DAYS BACK IN THE WAR STARTED KILLING AND PUSHING EVERYONE AROUND.TWO GIRLS GOT CAPTURED (WHAT,S LEFT OF THEM) THEN WAS RESCUED BY AN INDIANA JONES WANNBEE.THEY FINALY MADE IT AWAY FROM THE CANNIBALS (WHICH BY THE WAY THEY LOOK LIKE A POOR MAN,S CANNIBALS) ONLY TO BE CAPTURED BY SLAVE TRADERS (THIS IS WHAT THE MOVIE IS TRULY ABOUT) AND IT GETS EVEN DUMBER. NO GOOD QUAILTIES ABOUT THIS DVD MAYBE FOR DELETED SCENES THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT IN THE MOVIE.

1 out of 5 stars A warning about Wild East Entertainment.......2007-04-01

I am a Spaghetti Western fan. Because of this I decided to purchase a number of rather rare films on DVD by Wild East Entertainment. One of films was "Gentleman Killer."

The first DVD I recieved was the Lee Van Cleef classic Day of Anget. It had some major problems. I ordered the disc BRAND NEW from amazon directly and the disc contained many DEEP scratches, fingerprint smudges, and the center of the disc was even cracked. I sent the disc back to get a replacement. The second disc I recieved was also scratched badly. I'm not sure who is in charge of making these Wild Eest Entertainment discs but holy hell, give me a break! For brand new discs they look and play like a an ex-rental that had been used as a frisbee. I sent the disc back for a second time because the film skipped. The third disc I recieved...what a surprise...was also really scratched. Enough is enough! How many times do I have to send a disc back in order to get a disc that is in LIKE NEW condition and plays fine!

That was only the first problem I had with a Wild East disc. I also ordered the DVDs Sartana and Gentleman Killer. I will say up front that I have a normal television (not some fancy widescreen TV) and a normal high quality Sony DVD player. When I played either one of those DVDs...the image come up scruntched on my TV. It's not like I have a widescreen TV playing non-anamorphic discs. I have a normal everyday TV. I emailed Wild East Entertainment about the problem and they eventually responded that it was a manufacturing defect on their part and the person has to switch their DVD player manually to 16x9 to play properly on their TV. Sadly I was unable to do this on my DVD player and the company offered my money back if I sent back the discs along with my amazon receipt. I sent the DVD to them. It's been months and I have not recieved any refund and they refuse to email me back. They took my DVDs and never sent me a refund and refuse to answer my letters and emails. I have NEVER been treated so poorly and they basically robbed me of $40.

The "Matalo!" DVD also has some extremely poor encoding but I assume I warned potential buyers enough about "Wild East Entertainment". I respect the work they are trying to do by releasing hard to find Spaghetti Westerns but they need to shape up or ship out. Releasing defective discs that are poorly manufactured (like the Day of Anger disc) is upsetting. Their customer service promising refunds that never arrive and ignoring emails and letters is childish. It's a shame because I bought a LOT of their DVD's but the defective discs and their customer service giving false promises ensures that I will NEVER buy another one of their products again.

An impressive cast throws their combined actorly muscle behind this exploration of the war of the sexes. Michael (Joe Mantegna) doesn't understand why the new car he bought for his wife Dana (Christine Lahti) has sent her into an emotional tailspin; frustrated and confused, he and his friend Bruce (Paul Reiser) decide to blow off steam by going to a strip club--unfortunately, Dana returns home just as the men are setting off. She follows and is appalled by what she finds, setting off a far more serious marital crisis for both couples. What starts out as a middle-aged version of American Pie turns into an honest attempt to grapple with the troubles of a long marriage. The conclusion is dubious, but Women vs. Men has some thoughtful moments along the way and the cast keeps the scenes lively--Lahti and Glenne Headly (as Bruce's wife) are particularly good. --Bret Fetzer

3 out of 5 stars Some redeeming value........2004-11-17

The three men in the movie run the gamut from the guy who really loves his wife and doesn't want to lose her, to the divorced guy who's out to **** anything with a skirt that will come off, including the other guys' wives.

** spoilers **

As other reviewers said, the movie earned its R rating in one 35-second scene. Even that was a little unbelievable, because the guys walked in to the strip club and the wife, a few seconds behind, spotted them both in the midst of very close and personal lapdances. Usually, the point of strip clubs is for the girls to keep the guys there spending money, and the guys are there to enjoy the view, so they're not going to be so quick. I digress. However, the wife's shock and outrage are quite believable; disillunsionment, a hemorrhage of intimacy like that can be quite a blow. Imagine stumbling across your wife passionately kissing another man.

I will say that one of the best scenes in the movie is when the divorcee neighbor is drunk, and she tries to tell the two wives how great being divorced is, "how freeing." Then she gets a wistful look on her face and says, "Fear is a terrible age for being single. You look at the stranger lying in the bed next to you, and you hope he's not a psychopath, and if he is, that he'll finish you quickly. You're forty, fifty years old, and you realize that whatever good you might have salvaged from your marriage is buried under too much hurt."

Bottom line on the movie, if you were a fan of Paul Reiser's Couplehood and other similar works, or are into movies that are about relationships deeper than Hugh Grant/Sandra Bullock, then you might enjoy this movie. There's some twists in it, and it's an ensemble cast that do a good job of explaining their entwining lives, turning over the concepts of love, marriage, fidelity, and interactions between men and women in long-standing relationships. There are a couple of laugh-out-loud spots, and there's a couple of spots where you nod in agreement... and the reason this got three rather than four stars: a couple of places that just didn't feel true, as if the writer couldn't bring himself to write the very painful parts.

5 out of 5 stars Learn to Laugh at Yourself!.......2003-09-11

This movie made me smile, or rather I should say I broke out in laughter many times! If you see the humor of the situations of "Sex in the City" or laugh at "Malcomb in the Middle" this movie is for you! The short scene in the strip club was probably the only scene to earn the R rating. Otherwise adult humor, some language.

4 out of 5 stars Relationship strengths and weakness.......2003-08-17

I really enjoyed this movie! it was amusing as well as thought provoking. I could recognize the characters played out in this film as folks I meet everyday! For those who are involved in long term relationships this film although quite comical can deliver some AHA! insights into male and female interaction and relationship priorities!!

3 out of 5 stars Make your own opinion! ;).......2003-03-13

Now that I'm in charge of ordering videos for a public library, I can say, it's not everything I thought it would be. It's work! So here I am getting a complaint from a patron that the video was too offensive to circulate in our video collection.
According to a patron there was a scene at the beginning of the movie in a strip bar.

OK, so here I am not only in charge of ordering videos, my boss now asks me to take the video home and to review it. OK this movie was not bad at all. I just dread in the future taking home sleepers (if you know what I mean)

The movie:
The initial scene sets the stage of the movie which is basically a husband that got depressed when his wife ran off after an argument. Basically we now have an upset husband who's friend asks him to go out and forget about the argument to a strip bar. It just happens his wife follows him there. Thus, we have a very simple story, jealous wife, and conversations that reside over this argument. If you're looking for action, adventure, mystery or anything else, you might want to look somewhere else. This might have turned me off at the inset of the movie when I found out where it was leading. So my main concern, for my life at the job, was to review the offensive content. A few minutes into the movie was about as far as it went. The strip club which included a lap dance with each husband was the content of the complaint. For those of you who do not know what a lap dance is, it is a dance where the clothes of the dancer usually comes off. For those of you who know the Lambada, it's one step more or should I say it's 1 piece of article less. I don't want to get too explicit here but there is nothing to get explicit about. That was the extent of it. Talking from a guy who has seen other movies with 10 times more vulgarity or more explicit sexual content, I'd have to say that it was nothing more than a quick view. I believe that patron played off the anger of the wife who was kind of unbelievable in my eyes. My personal opinion is that she was a little too concerned about a girl pressed against her husband. This is what though, make your own opinion on a scene that end there.

The rest of the movie and my attitude toward the two wives did get better as the movie persued. Not that I'd be on the womens side.... HECK NO :) But they weren't so unbelievable in their actions after a typical bad fight.

Let me conclude that I could believe that this movie is more geared towards a women's side of the argument than a guys side. So if you are looking for a lot of fun, intelligent humor, or driving force to keep the movie running, I'd say look away. If you have been in that situation a number of times and can get amused by such a scenario, take out the popcorn, pop in the video and keep on smiling at each little comment from both parties. I rated this with 3 stars down the middle of my scale because it is really geared for a certain audience and an average audience I believe should neither hate it or love it.

Mike

P.S. Spelling... not my forte... Grammar.. sorry nope... Information and smiles is all I'd hope to give you with this review....I'd hope :)
