Description
A 747 filled with passengers is struck by lightning in mid-flight. The explosion kills the pilot and co-pilot and sends the airliner into a deadly nose dive. As terror fills the cabin, a flight attendant and two heroic passengers race to engage the automatic pilot, saving the lives of 400 people... for now. But with the plane's fuel tank leaking and no one on board qualified to land the jumbo jet, the Air Force is faced with a grim decision: Shoot the plane down over a deserted area or hope they find a solution to save the plane before it crashes into a major city risking thousands more deaths. With time running out, a few ordinary people must do the extraordinary to save Flight 115 from disaster. Kate Jackson headlines an all-star cast in this explosive drama that features Ed Marinaro, Robert Guillaume, Erik Estrada and Maureen McCormick.
Customer Reviews:
Panic in the Skies.......2007-09-01
I enjoyed this movie with the people being trapped on the Air Plane.
It was very frighting for the people espesecially when the two pilots were killed by the thunder and lightning. The cockpit was a right mess with wires everywhere and it was amazing that the plane could still fly.
They had to get a man's laptop to hook it up to the planes computer in the cockpit.
I give the film 5 stars!
A movie so bad that it is truly hilarious.......2007-06-13
This was, quite possibly, the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. It was so awful that me and my girlfriend were cracking up and truly enjoying ourselves. The dialogue is so bad and the plot is usually very predictable.
I just loved this film because it was so bad. It could easily be a film shown on "Mystery Science Theatre". I highly recommend this film to anyone who likes B movies.
Fun TV Disaster Thriller.......2006-04-29
Definitely not a great film, but a fun one. A TV version of one of the Airport/Plane disaster flicks. Jackson is the head stewardess and surrogate mom and a lot of B-grade 70's and 80's actors make up the rest of the cast. Erik Estrada, Maureen McCormick, Ed Marinaro ... anyway a storm blows up and kills the cockpit folk, so it's up to Kate and Company to save the plane and passngers. They have altitude and oxygen problems, gally fires, stray vicious dogs, rolling leaking cars and criminals all on the loose. BUT - it is definitely entertaining and rewatchable. Silly, yes, thrilling, at times, and so over the top. You almost can't help yourself in getting caught up in all the drama. A fun TV flick.
MOVIE HAD FAULTS, BUT STILL ENTERTAINING.......2006-01-27
Upon reading some of the other critical reviews from viewers, I tend to agree with some of the things that were said. On the other hand there was a good cast, and the movie was entertaining none the less. I watched the last half of the movie on Lifetime Movie Channel, so I missed the beginning. I have seen a lot worse movies that were rated higher. I was wondering if some of the people who submitted their reviews took the time to review, and edit their reviews. It's funny that those who are so critical on other matters can't correctly spell the simple words, or take the time to edit what they write. For those reading the reviews, please read through some of the reviews. It will make up for what you might have missed in a movie being reviewed!
Good story but poor production........2004-06-12
I like movies about airplanes and because of that I have several of these movies and one of those is this one.
The cover and the tittle of the movie make you think it's good but there's nothing good in it.
The story is interesting but what makes the movie very bad, is the poor, poor production. The set that it's supposed to be a Boeing 747 with 400 people looks like a very small plane (you'll only see inside the airplane like 25 people during the whole movie). The special effects are terrible, you'll see the airplane fyling but no with a close image and you'll see it like for 2 seconds. The airplane that they use changes from name and colors all the time, then when something good is going to happen they just change the image and put the sound so they wouldn't make a scenery for that scene. Anyway if you like a good movie, just don't get this one, you'll get bored because as I said. The story is interesting but the special effects are so bad that you'll get bored.
Finally I'd like to say that I don't understand how Kate Jackson (Charlie's angels) acepted to be in this low budget movie with all the success that she had in her career.

Do you sense something a little off?.......2005-07-29
As a lover of airplane disaster movies, I've seen a wide variety in quality from the worst to the very best. I've seen comedies and parodies. I've seen mediocre and I've seen cliche and I've seen overkill. Now I can say I've seen one with an Identity Crisis. Is it a comedy, a parody? I don't know, but there is something a little off with AIR PANIC, something I can't put my finger on. The premise was good, and it was a good try, and the movie tries to take itself seriously to provide a suspenseful thriller, but with all its sincere attempt, the drama, suspense and terror just isn't there. It held my interest; that much I can say, but nothing more than that. Of course, the most eerie image is at the beginning where a plane crashes into the side of an office building which was created before 9/11, but that's where the unpleasantness ends.
With a similar set-up to the Jaclyn Smith TV-drama "Freefall," AIR PANIC is about the airline industry at the mercy of a psychotic madman who can control actual planes by remote control as if he were a kid playing with a model airplane or video game. He is such a "genius," as he himself claims, he is able to see and hear all that goes on in a plane he has control over, similar to Dennis Hopper's character in the movie "Speed." AIR PANIC is not the greatest, but it's not bad either, kind of a campy-flavored airplane disaster movie, despite its sincere attempt, should not be taken seriously. It's kind of like "candy for the eyes," sort of an "escape from reality" movie, quite a few notches above the horrible film "Air Marshal." Don't let the picture on the cover fool you. It's too heavy-a-tone for such a "lightly flavored" movie. My rating? Fair to Midland by way of Industry.
When Bollywood tries to make a Hollywood movie........2004-05-26
the movie kept me engrossed. Not for the reasons you may think. You see, I am from India, from Hyderabad to be specific. And it seems this movie was shot in India and in Hyderabad in particular. a 200% B Grade movie if there ever was one. The 'H-Tech' building at madhapur is shown as "FAA Building" , cheesy models and even cheesier special effects. Every second actor or extra is an Indian, and almost 90% of the crew mentioned in the end titles are indians.
Stupid movie plot (well actually may not be stupid) but the execution is right down criminal. Is there a category called Z Grade movie?
A full year before 911.......2004-03-03
Guess what: A movie about a terrorist crashing planes into buildings. Moreover, the NSA blames a muslim terrorist group for this unprovoked attack! How does it sounds? If you said that this is a movie about 911, you would be very wrong! This movie was completed before (yes, before) September 11, 2001. And they say that reality does not mimic art (I use the term loosely)!
Although it is hard to imagine such a film in a US theather anytime soon, you can get the DVD here at Amazon. The whole thing is not so good, but it deserves recognition. It is a sort of "Airport" for the new milenium. Anyway, who cares? Just the fact that it was completed before 911 is worth the buy.

I'LL STAY ON TERRA FIRMA.......2004-02-11
B-movies of our time are not all that different from those wonderful B-movies of the 50s and 60s. Take one hunky hero (Rod Rowlands, a marvelous actor---check out SOULKEEPER); a beautiful airline attendant T3's Kristina Lokken); a nasty nasty villain; a planeload of stereotypical passengers; and throw in some cheesy special effects. This is AIR PANIC, and I thoroughly enjoyed it for the above reasons. Also add veteran actors Ted Shackelford and Barbara Carrera, and you know you're in for a good B-flight.
In all honesty, this movie works because it attacks your visceral level of being terrified when the plane you are on goes a little wacky. Not a cinematic classic, but I found it engrossing and entertaining.
