It's no surprise that The Hot Chick is stupid; what's remarkable is the ambition of its stupidity. After a hokey, Mummy-like prologue to establish the body-switching spell cast by an ancient pair of Abyssinian earrings, the low-concept lunacy begins when those earrings are divided, eons later, between a cruel-minded high school campus queen (Rachel McAdams) and a small-time crook (Rob Schneider), who switch bodies (externally he's the hot chick, and she's the vulgar sleazeball) and must cope with the consequences of their sudden gender crisis. This tired idea may seem fresh and funny to eight-year-olds and morons, but Schneider and first-time director Tom Brady (who wrote Schneider's The Animal) fail to fulfill the potential of their ripe comedic premise. McAdams plays a guy better than Schneider plays a girl (which explains her limited screen time), and the expected jokes (mostly involving urinals and awkward prom dates) are sluggishly uninspired. In a cameo role as a dreadlocked stoner, coproducer Adam Sandler offers only brief comedic respite. --Jeff Shannon

A brilliant updating of Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night. Almost every possible combination of what it means to be a man or a woman is explored. And the ulitmate question of the movie: how do you know if it is love? Is put to the test by numerous situations. Of course, even if it is true love, are there limits to what a person is willing to do for the one they love?

I tuned in to this movie thinking it would just be another half-funny slapstick movie, but how wrong could I be? This is one of the funniest movies I have seen. Even sitting here alone I was laughing uncontrollably. Rob Schneider was great but so were all the other characters. The humour was very clever and very well delivered. I'm adding this one to my collection.

All Hail the Princess! I love this dvd - what a fun, novel workout! Princess Farhana is a wonderful, old school style burlesque dancer and her performance alone is worth the price of the video. She also gives great advice on costuming. If you are interested in feeling sexy and feminine this dvd is the perfect choice.

Hot moves, but not a "workout".......2007-08-01

This is a great instructional video but it really can't be classified as a "burlesque workout". The movements demonstrated are informative for developing a routine but if you are looking for a workout, this probably won't be it, primarily due to the order of presentation. There is good information on costumes, stage personas, even picking a name - but the poor production quality lowered my rating to a 4. Get this if you want to develop a burlesque dance routine but look elsewhere for calorie burning.

If you're looking for a dvd that will guide you to that inner diva, then this is the one to buy! I was really very surprised by the information/tips given in this dvd on make-up, clothing removal, costumes, pasties, poses, etc... (don't want to give everything away)

Very clear instruction is given on how to do basic striptease moves and the final routine will have you looking and feeling like a very special diva! Hint: You'll need a big boa and sequined lingerie to look the part, girlfriend!

I only wish the combinations had been separated from the tips on other things in this dvd. I tended to get a bit caught up in the tips, then I'd forget the striptease move that was taught. This dvd could have used some better organization!

The bonus material which gives a brief history of burlesque, tassel twirling instruction, Velvet Hammer Preview and Farhana's live performance of the routine presented are all excellent! The routine that is taught is actually repeated 3 different times and the music is so very sexy!!

So find some heels, boa and glittery lingerie and shake what yo' mama gave you so you can enjoy this dvd!
