5 out of 5 stars A wonderful program that helps parents understand their child.......2007-05-11

I've watched the Baby Human in several occasions and have enjoyed every part of it. Its an excellent program that helps parents understand and learn about the wonderful human baby. If anyone is interested the company Express Media Canada, offers the second series.

5 out of 5 stars Too Cool.......2007-02-26

I am a new mom and my husband is a new dad. We found this video extremely helpful. We were both the youngest in our families and we waited a long time to have a kid. This opened our eyes to our baby on how he thinks, feel, and moves. I think this is amazing for a new parent who maybe isn't so sure on what to do.

5 out of 5 stars Probably The Best I've Seen.......2006-09-29

This DVD possesses some of the best editing and production that I have yet to see in a child development product.

Each of the sections (cognitive, physical, and language) is well researched. It's easy to understand and highly accessible.

Just as perfect for a personal library as it is for staff development.

5 out of 5 stars A great source for Human Development video clips.......2006-07-13

This series of "to walk," "to think," and "to talk" is a great resource for child/human development. It portrays current research in a brief yet engaging manner. I use it in my Human Development course and students consistently find it helpful, informative, and interesting in demonstrating concepts and research that we're covering. The second series of "to feel," "to belong," and "to relate" is also a great one.

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous tool for parents, grandparents, and for teaching child development to all levels of students!.......2006-03-10

My profession is in Child Development, particularly autism, and I have been searching for many years for an effective teaching tool for parents and students that is enjoyable and informative at the same time. I have even tried rather unsuccessfully to video typically developing infants and children myself to use as tools. Nothing can even remotely compare with this series of documentaries: "To Walk", "To Talk" and "To Think". I cannot wait for the release of The Baby Human II which includes "To Relate" and "To Belong".

Not only a great teaching tool, but a WONDERFUL baby shower gift!

When babies babble or draw, adults jokingly say they know what the baby is trying to communicate. What if a clinic found that these babblings and doodles were actually very intelligent responses or scribbling of an ancient form of communication? Well, it seems that all it would create is this tepid comedy. Kathleen Turner runs the clinic that believes babies have "universal knowledge" before they learn to speak (and dumb down). What she plans to do with this knowledge is never really understood, but know this: the plans are evil. The secret lives of babies have been pretty adorably filmed previously with Look Who's Talking, but here the babies talk and move via visual effects like the animals in Babe. They also karate chop adults and talk about such adorable things as "diaper gravy." By the time the story (a variation of The Parent Trap) heats up (relatively speaking), there is not much left to engage us except some cute babies that just look odd as effects take over their mouths and movements. --Doug Thomas

3 out of 5 stars Babies out of Control!!!.......2007-03-02

Kathleen Turner, star of Romancing the Stone (1986), Body Heat (1981), is the star of Baby Geniuses and plays the same character as she did in Body Heat...as a sexy seductress with her own evil lust and plans for meanness in a PG kind of way. One thing, little babies is what this movie is geared towards. Not kids, not adults, babies.

Christopher Lloyd is there, and it doesn't help the pain. Basically, all babies are geniuses, and Kathleen Turner is the antagonist. I didn't buy this movie, but, afterwards, I had to, because it is soooo stupid. If you are feeling the need to laugh at something, this too, is a movie for you.

If you ever wondered what a look who's taking meets james bond movie would be like shame on you. It's ideas like that make crappy movies. Don't see this movie it'll be the worst movie you'll ever see. And if you kid keeps on bugging you to watch with them tell them you have a head ache because by the end you will by the stupity of this film.

1 out of 5 stars A very, VERY long distance from "Genius".......2005-07-14

In my unending quest to add the next big "trash classic" to my DVD collection, "Baby Geniuses" was highly recommended by many of my fellow schlock-cinema mavens. Sadly, I found nothing "classic" about the flick... but the "trash" part definitely was showing through with each excruciating frame. I found myself overwhelmed with chagrin and disgust at every turn of this low-rent "Home Alone" wannabe. This sad waste of celluloid depicts some of the most UN-witty "witty" dialogue and the most UN-snappy "snaps", insults, rejoinders, and comebacks I've ever forced myself to sit through. And the dialogue between the "babies" (actually, more like young toddlers) ain't no picnic, either! I DID get a kick outta seein' Dom DeLuise get hit in the "forbidden zone" with a monkey wrench, though. I've always felt he needed to have that done to him... in real life... at least once a day. What can I say: I'm a sensitive, empathetic humanitarian type...

Bottom line: I'd have had a better time striking myself in the head with a ball-peen hammer for an hour-and-a-half than I did watching this sad loss of precious quality time. Show this bad-boy to yer young'un only if you want to frighten him/her into never, ever watching kiddie flicks ever again. However, if you're a sick eff who takes sadistic delight in seeing Christopher Lloyd, Kathleen Turner, and Kim Cattrall working some of the worst roles in their spotty acting careers, "Baby Geniuses" might just be what you've been lookin' for..

Second, why pull an E.T. and remove the guns from the movie?

Third, why even consider greenlighting this film?

babygeniuses was so cool. expecially kahuna, he was the best i think he is a great actor when i first saw the movie it looked boring to me but then it got better because kahuna made it so realistic.

2 out of 5 stars Fine for Four Year Olds.......2005-06-20

Painful to watch if you are the parent or grandparent, but my 4 year old grandson adored it. He identified with all the babies and clearly thought he could be the Kahuna. He watched it 4 times this weekend. I suspect it would seem incredibly stupid to any child much older than 6.

1 out of 5 stars so awful, it deserves a rating of -100!.......2005-04-17

the story plot is cheap ansd sucky - believe me! the characters are not develpoed enough. in fact, it was so bad, i couldn't even remember much of it! the only really interesting thing about it was the relationship between kahuna biscane and his older brother. kahuna is almost immortal - he will forever have the body of a child. biscane is jealous of him, and hates him. and so the two have an emotional moment. the movie shows plenty of kahuna's past. but nothing else very interesting. the movie should not have been released in theatres. i tried to 'make the film more interesting' by using my imagination to think of anything that may be happening offscreen, but found out i coul dn't.

BABY GENIUSES: Dr. Elena Kinder (Kathleen Turner) is out to dominate the world. Two-year-old Sly is the only person in her way. Dr. Kinder and her partner in crime, Dr. Heep (Christopher Lloyd), have a covert research lab dedicated to cracking the code to a secret baby language. When Sly escapes from the lab, he joins his twin brother Whit in an effort to expose the nefarious plot. Raised by his uncle (Peter MacNicol), who cares for special children, Whit is naive to the ways of the world, and is quickly captured by Dr. Kinder. Mistaken for Whit, Sly is taken back to his uncle, where he rallies the other foster babies into a Super commando rescue squad to invade the secret lab in an effort to squash Dr. Kinder's evil plot.

SUPERBABIES: BABY GENIUSES 2: In this high-adventure sequel to the smash-hit "Baby Geniuses" the baby geniuses find themselves at the center of a nefarious scheme led by powerful media mogul Bill Biscane (Jon Voight). Joining the babies in their battle against evil is a legendary baby named Kahuna. Part ultra-cool spy, part superhero, Kahuna joins babies Archie, Finkleman, Alex and Rosita in a race against time to stop the villainous Biscane from using his state-of-the-art satellite system to control the minds of the world's population.
