Eddie Murphy stars and stars in this very broad and raucous comedy that finds the Oscar-nominated Dreamgirls actor revisiting the multiple-character shtick that worked so well for him in Coming to America and The Nutty Professor. The latter's makeup-effects artist, Rick Baker, once again transforms Murphy into a variety of grotesques and caricatures, including the hugely fat, monstrous Rasputia, the Asian Mr. Wong, and the timorous Norbit, a nervous orphan raised by Wong and married to Rasputia. The latter, a member of a construction family with a plan to turn Wong's orphanage into a strip club, is a relentlessly narcissistic shrew who puts the screws on Norbit at every turn, especially when he rediscovers his love for an old friend, Kate (Thandie Newton). Kate's wish to buy and maintain the orphanage herself is secretly compromised by her fiancé (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), who is in cahoots with Rasputia's family and using Norbit to further their agenda.

Extraordinarily silly, frequently crude and mean-spirited to an extreme, Norbit is far more sour than The Nutty Professor. But there are moments of inspiration, especially a wedding interrupted by wannabe pimps who launch a profane gospel groove, and a dog that talks to Norbit while he is semi-conscious. For the most part, though, Norbit impresses as a technical marvel utilizing careful shot design and skillful editing. Murphy participates in several remarkable, three-character scenes in which he happens to be all three characters, and those moments move so briskly it's easy to forget one is looking at a comic stunt. --Tom Keogh

2 out of 5 stars Poor, lost, deluded Eddie.......2007-09-10

Leave it to Eddie Murphy to address a subject like domestic violence and take all the humor out of it. It's a shame he wasn't taken from us by a homicidal transvestite in the mid 80's so we could remember him as the comedic genius he was.

1 out of 5 stars This movie stinks.......2007-08-30

When I saw the previews for Norbit, I mentioned to my wife I might want to see it. She shook her head and told me to see it without her. I waited until it came out on video, spent the $.50 to rent it from the library, and watched it one evening by myself. As usual, my wife was correct. This movie stunk. It is not funny or interesting. The characters play to all the same stereotypes. I can't believe anyone thinks Eddie Murphy should spend countless hours in the makeup chair to play such idiotic roles. I couldn't get Norbit's annoying voice out of my head for two days. Don't waste your time or money on this horrible movie.

3 out of 5 stars Phat.......2007-08-27

How YOU doin'? It's a funny line even if they did steal it from Joey from Friends.

When I watch a comedy, the only requirement I have is that it be funny. That's it. I'm not one of those intellectual movie snobs who think only "comedies" like Dr. Strangelove is worthy of my time.

The story of Norbit was a very interesting one that kept my attention the entire time; and it made me laugh. Therefore, Norbit is a success.

The film is not perfect by any means. I question the casting choice of Thandie Newton, and you also can't help but see Eddie Murphy as recycling his past roles from The Nutty Professor. Murphy is coasting at this point in his career. Of course, he no longer has anything else to prove. He did enough good things in the 80s to last him a lifetime: although, I do wonder where that Eddie Murphy went.

We can't discuss Norbit without discussing the thing that many find offensive: the portrayal of the overweight character as evil and the thin, "beautiful woman" as good. Well, it was Rasputia's attitude that made her the bad guy, not her size. But then, some people ask, why make her fat at all if it's only about her attitude. Well, it's simple; Rasputia uses her size to intimidate people. I find it very hard to believe that a tiny woman like say, Toni Braxton, could have instilled fear in those around her the way Rasputia did. And it's her meanness and ability to physically intimidate people that acts as the essential part of humor for her character and the film.

I also have to give a shout out to Marlon Wayans. I had no idea he played Buster until the end credits. I'm starting to believe he is the most talented Wayans. He does comedy better than Damon, and he can do drama better than, well Damon.

If the movie is a little too mean spirited for you, and you want to see the big girl get the guy rather than lose him, I recommend Shallow Hal.

I watched the whole movie and it was not funny at all. It was an entertaining love story, but it wasn't funny at all. I didn't laugh except one time when Respusha asked "How you doing?" The movie just wasn't funny and the reason why is that Respusha looked like a man. It was hard to believe that Norbit would marry a woman that looked like a man and stay with her.

This 10-DVD boxed set is a delight for anyone afflicted with a susceptibility to the fractured antics of Jerry Lewis, or "Le Roi du Crazy" to the French. This set emphasizes Lewis's busy period after the breakup with Dean Martin, when he was exerting more influence over his vehicles (six of the titles are directed by Jerry himself) and almost single-handedly keeping Paramount Pictures propped up with his box-office take. The set curiously includes one of the Martin-Lewis pictures, 1953's The Stooge, which has echoes of the real-life vibe between Jerry and Dino.

The other titles include Lewis's 1957 solo starring debut, The Delicate Delinquent, and his directing bow, The Bellboy (1960). The latter is an often-ingenious and plotless collection of gags with Jerry as a bellhop in Miami Beach's Fountainebleau Hotel. His character doesn't speak (making the connection with silent cinema more pointed), but in one uproarious sequence the obnoxious movie star "Jerry Lewis" comes to visit the hotel.

The Ladies Man puts Lewis alone in a boarding house full of women. This film's bizarre sexual politics (and its amazing cut-away set) helps explain why French critics such as Jean-Luc Godard consider Lewis a cinematic genius--Godard actually borrowed the cut-away set idea for his film Tout va bien. The Errand Boy is a cascade of gags strung together on the set of "Paramutual Pictures," a movie studio that employs Lewis's klutzy gofer; it features one of Jerry's best musical miming routines. The Patsy is another good one, as nebbish Jerry is drafted into impersonating a famous deceased celebrity, but by 1965's The Family Jewels the inspiration is flagging a bit.

Two of the titles are directed by Lewis's mentor, Frank Tashlin. Cinderfella works a sentimental variation on the fairy tale; it's slow and at times mawkish, but some of Lewis's physical stuff is top-notch. The Disorderly Orderly is livelier, with a hospital setting and some of Jerry's most inspired babbling. The box also includes Lewis's acknowledged high point, The Nutty Professor, in its special-edition form. Its Jekyll-and-Hyde story is still the funniest and weirdest premise Lewis ever had. There are other Lewis films out there, but this box is definitely the cream of the career. If some of the jokes haven't aged well (and those who can't stand his mugging won't be convinced even by this set), Lewis still seems a more interesting filmmaker than he's usually given credit for. Extras include some disappointing commentaries with Lewis and Steve Lawrence, plus a smattering of outtakes, some of them funny and/or revealing of Lewis's directing technique. --Robert Horton

5 out of 5 stars A Jerry Lewis fan's dream come true!!.......2007-08-30

I just got rid of the VHS tapes of these movies and now I have the DVD collection from Paramount! WOW! Who could ask for anything more with this great line up of Jerry's work with Paramount. I am surprised the Stooge is in this collection since it was in the Martin and Lewis collection. It should have been replaced with either Rock a bye Baby, The Geisha Boy, or Who's Minding the Store? Maybe Paramount will release them in Volume 2. If you are a Jerry Lewis fan, then you will enjoy this collection of his works!

5 out of 5 stars GREAT SET ! JERRY AT HIS GOOFY BEST!.......2007-08-04

I preferred Jerry Lewis when he was Dean Marin's partner, but there are some of Jerry's best solo acts in this set. I paid under #30 for this set and for 10 movies on 10 DVD's that is a steal! You either like Jerry or you hate him. He is goofy, but no one does it better than Jerry! There are at least moments of brillants in each film and some are really hilarious! Well worth what I paid for it! The DVD transfers look very good.

5 out of 5 stars Jerry Lewis Collection is Great!.......2007-07-23

This collection is worth more than I paid! The quality is wonderful. The movies are great! Can't go wrong with this purchase. They're all so funny and leave you with a great feeling at the end. Too bad they don't make 'em like they used to (comedies).

4 out of 5 stars I'm a Sucker for All Things Silly.......2007-06-19

This box set is right up my alley. No, it's not perfect. I also wanted Who's Minding the Store, The Geisha Boy, and Visit to a Small Planet. But you can't have everything. I do like the clear picture and sound on these films. What a fun trip down memory lane.
I haven't had a chance to watch the film which includes Dean Martin. That's back-burner for me. So, as for Jerry's films themselves...

The Good -
The Nutty Professor has been called his best. I really love it. Just great stuff, smooth and funny and colorful. But I hate the Buddy Love character. Totally one dimensional, one of the most obnoxious jerks you'd ever meet, and too much makeup. However, this movie has some truly brilliant comedy before it adds some maudlin goop (a lot of Lewis' work tends to do this sometimes, so you have to roll with it). This is probably the height of his talents.

The Ladies Man is a lot of fun at Miss Welonmelon's boarding house, with some great bits: the butterflies, feeding Baby, the Southern gal's incomprehensible dialogue, fixing the gangster's hat, wiping Welonmelon's portait (that always makes me laugh out loud!), and the microphone problem while broadcasting 'Up Your Street'. There's a rather sudden ending, but this is one of my favorites in Jerry's career. Amazing set, too.

The Bellboy is very enjoyable, and extremely rewatchable because it has a lot going on, one thing after another. The lunch counter gag kills me. And you can't beat Jerry tampering with a clay bust that's still wet. Very good overall. And his character has virtually no dialogue.

The Fair -
The Errand Boy is a fairly good comedy, a typical vehicle for Jerry Lewis. Again, slipping into pathos and mush (with the puppets) seems completely out of place with the pace and feel of this movie, no matter how charming and sweetly executed. But the scene where Jerry butchers all the last names is hilarious.

The Disorderly Orderly is part slapstick and part depressing psychological study. Some wonderful comic bits cannot overcome the serious feel that the movie plays with in the pretty blonde patient who is so bitter, resentful to everyone, and very troubled. If you took out all the parts with her and then extended the slapstick, you'd have a better flick. Just my opinion.

The Family Jewels is cute, definitely a family film; I liked this more than I remembered. Which uncle will young Donna choose to raise her? Granted, you know the ending long before it happens, but I loved the part when Jerry as the pilot takes the old ladies on a trip. Silly, surreal, and fun. Only on a plane with Jerry does the in-flight film become affected by the angle that the plane is flying. And Jerry gets to don five silly disguises in this movie, Uncle Julius being the same character as the Nutty Professor.

The Bad -
The Patsy just doesn't do it for me; taking the same exact concept as The Errand Boy (bigwigs need a substitute immediately and grab the first idiot they see), this movie grows tedious rapidly. It is not as funny as we expect.

Cinderfella is a musical that I don't care for; although it is nice to look at and has a few nice moments, the completely glacial flow kills it. It is slow, dull, and talky. It's not funny. (And Ed Wynn looks like he just returned from a three day drunk in Vegas.) Maybe this would have been a better film if Jerry had written it and directed it. Sorry, but a big yawn.

I still have to watch The Delicate Delinquent, but so far I am pleased with this collection. The bottom line is that this set has a handful of terrific movies that you just don't see on television any longer. And the gems make up for the duds, definitely.

Amazon.com essential video

Jerry Lewis's 1963 Jekyll and Hyde variation has always been tagged by two popular assumptions: one is that it is his best work as a comic filmmaker, and the other is that Lewis's Mr. Hyde equivalent--the slick, ultra-arrogant, good-looking womanizer Buddy Love--actually lampoons the director's former partner, Dean Martin. Well, The Nutty Professor certainly is Lewis's best film. But all one has to do is watch it to realize the motivation behind Buddy Love is more confessional: he's really much more like Lewis's darker, narcissistic side, while the shlubby scientist (also played by Lewis) from whom Love springs is closer to the star's screen image. You can watch all this psychodrama yourself and have a lot of good laughs at the same time with this unusual film, which still surpasses Eddie Murphy's recent remake--though not necessarily by a wide gap. --Tom Keogh

Description

Unable to put up with ridicule any longer, Kelp creates a potion that transforms him into his alter ego, Buddy Love, who is slick, cool and a hit with the ladies. The only problem with this potion is it doesn't last very long, and wears off at the most inopportune moments.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Nutty Professor.......2007-07-02

Widely regarded as Lewis's best solo film, this broadly comic take on the Jekyll and Hyde story is an ideal springboard for Jerry's zany comic persona and routines. Stella Stevens is suitably cute as the professor's prize pupil who falls under Buddy's spell. Superior to the Eddie Murphy re-make, this is consistently diverting, wacky entertainment for kids and grown-ups alike. Go, Buddy!

4 out of 5 stars A very funny movie........2007-05-22

Jerry Lewis at his best and you don't have to be French to appreciate this one.

5 out of 5 stars The Nutty Professor, (Jerry Lewis).......2007-01-04

One of my favorites. 'Have been looking for this one for years!

5 out of 5 stars "Every move, a picture...." .......2006-10-04

Although this is a movie I like a lot, I didn't actually buy it until I saw it at Target marked way down to about the price it could cost just to rent the DVD.

The price, though, made me vaguely suspicious about the quality of the disk, but I decided at the very least I'd be able to watch my favorite scenes when I wanted to.

It turns out this is an excellent edition. Most notably, the print is perfectly sharp, almost pristine, and it preserves W.W. Kelly's tricky cinematography -- the movie's wild and diverse colors sometimes look blurry and oversaturated when this is shown on TV.

And rather than being bare bones, this disk is loaded with extras: A commentary by Lewis and Steve Lawrence (which is, admittedly, a little on the quiet side); a fine documentary about Lewis' peak solo films; a chatty documentary about the making of the movie itself; a large gallery of press materials and deleted scenes; trailers and other odds and ends.

Added to which is the movie itself, which has already been discussed -- it's a strange, frequently funny, sometimes disturbing, way-ahead-of-its-time retelling of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Good deal.

5 out of 5 stars Confession.......2006-10-04

I needed to watch the extras and listen to Jerry's commentary to be convinced to give this film five stars instead of four. It is truly "a work of love". Independent cinema in the heart of Hollywood, what a time!

Lucky for Eddie Murphy he got ahold of the rights to this 1963 Jerry Lewis classic before Jim Carrey did. Murphy had a comeback of sorts with his Jeckyll-and-Hyde-derived fable of awkward chemistry professor Sherman Klump (Murphy), who discovers a potion that transforms him into the suave, cocky lady-killer Buddy Love (also Murphy). The big difference between the two versions is that Murphy's Sherman is not only a nerdy intellectual but is also grossly obese, which provides the opportunity for some hilarious digital transformation effects, as well as some gentle satire of our culture's attitudes toward fat people. As he did in the hit Coming to America, Murphy plays multiple roles, and the scenes at the Klump family dinner table, in which he plays everybody, are brilliantly funny. (Murphy won the National Society of Film Critics' award for best actor of 1996 for these performances.) Lewis based his Buddy Love on the 1960s ideal of cool exemplified by Sinatra and the Rat Pack; Murphy stumbles a bit by playing up the oily phoniness of his latter-day Love a little too soon, but for the most part The Nutty Professor represents a welcome return to form for Eddie Murphy. --Jim Emerson

1 out of 5 stars hey eddie? howzabout making a movie about washed-up black comics who dig transvestite hookers?.......2006-10-06

an amazingly bad movie. eddie murphy (who was funny in the 80s) manages the near-impossible: he makes jerry lewis seem sophisticated. now dont get me wrong; i love stupid comedy -- when its funny. murphy never convinces an iota here in the role of the HUGE professor klump. there is scads of humor to be mined in the struggles of fat people to fit into the normal world (take my word, i know about THAT) -- just recall oliver hardy's girth getting him stuck in a doorway during his attempt to escape bogeyland -- but murphy is merely contemptuous and nasty. well, contemptuous and nasty in a comedy i can accept, but it better be funny. this movie has a high spot on my list of the 10 worst i have ever seen.

5 out of 5 stars Hysterical.......2006-07-09

Totally awesome movie with jokes and sight gags galore. Eddie Murphy is one talented man playing all those roles of the Cletus family plus Buddy Love. A little crude yet but alot of laughing......gas!

Definitely pick this one up and pass on the sequel as that one overdoses on the fart jokes. This one uses a multi-joke formula all the way to success.

5 out of 5 stars Could be the funniest movie you ever see.......2006-06-30

I stopped from viewing this movie for a long time becouse I was told that it was nowhere near as good as the original. Well let me set this straight. Jerry Lewis does a fantastic job in the original and his rendition of Buddy Love was somewhat more dramatic then Eddie Murphy but Eddie has to be the funniest actor alive. Almost from the time the movie started right up 'till near the end I was in tears from laughing so hard. Eddie Murphy is not only funny but he can act as well. I love all of his movies that I've seen so far. And I will take what people tell me about remakes with a very large grain of salt from now on.

5 out of 5 stars THE NUTTY PROFESSOR: EDDIE RULES.......2006-06-02

THE NUTTY PROFESSOR. A GREAT COMEDY GEM THIS ONE. GO BUY THIS DVD. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE FAMILY GETTIN TOGETHER HAVING A GOOD MEAL.

4 out of 5 stars Review: The Nutty Professor.......2005-11-19

Eddie Murphy did a great job in The Nutty Professor with his role as Professor Sherman Klump/Buddy Love and also playing the entire Klump family. While watching scenes from the family dinners it is obvious what a great job Murphy did in this film. Each of the family members has their own personality and quarks that make the otherwise pointless dinners very enjoyable and fun to watch. The special effects and make-up used in this film are also amazing and they portrayed very real looking qualities.
Sherman Klump, a very bright professor who is also dealing with an obesity issue, finds himself falling for a colleague, Miss Carla Perdy. Klump is convinced that he doesn't have a chance with Carla because of his appearance. He believes that he needs to change himself in order to get Carla to appreciate him so he decides to try a formula, which he has been testing on hamsters, on himself. The formula is a DNA restructuring chemical and when it is ingested by Klump he drops 300 pounds immediately. This skinny, obnoxious and loud version of Professor Klump comes to be known as Buddy Love. Buddy is very critical of people, especially obese people, and he is determined to take over Klump's body and his life.
This movies main objective is to show that you should be happy with yourself. The jokes in this film were also carefully thought through so they wouldn't offend most viewers, especially overweight viewers. I found this movie to be more enjoyable than the original, starring Jerry Lewis, which has very few similarities with this version. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a little comic relief.

--Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars so funny .......2007-08-07

this movie is awesome. I watched it with my mother-in-law & husband - we couldn't stop laughing. there are times when it drags along but overall - if you like to laugh - you'll like this movie.

1 out of 5 stars Excrement........2007-07-24

Unfunny, pandering, adolescent tripe of the basest kind. This barely deserves a DVD release, let alone one in high-def like Blu-Ray.

Perhaps when more Americans look down and notice their own expanding midriffs they'll stop seeing overweight people as being there primarily for public amusement, and actually take the problem - and its personal impacts - more seriously.

(Don't get me wrong, here: crude humour is fine - I'm a Southpark and Ren n Stimpy fan from way back, for example. These days, however, a movie that relies almost exclusively on someone's mere physical appearance for laughs is offensive at best, and at worst causes actual damage (any guesses at the number of suicides each year by overweight persons, unable to face themselves in the mirror for another day?))

Maybe Murphy should have a go at a similar film with a grossly *under*weight person, or maybe an amputee, instead, and have them in-frame, and the focus of most of the 'comedy', for almost an entire movie, and see how many laughs he gets.

Eddie Murphy's remake of The Nutty Professor used the good professor's alter ego, Buddy Love, in much the same way that Jerry Lewis did in his brilliant original: a representation of the id out of control that plays like an admission of the actor's off-screen sins. In the sequel, Murphy expands on his Klump family from the first film and makes them major characters. Consequently, his dark side has plenty more places to express itself, particularly through the oversexed grandmother, Sherman's aggressively impotent father, and his just plain surly uncle, as well as Buddy Love (all played by Murphy).

The movie opens with professor Sherman Klump barely holding onto his sanity as his internal Buddy Love makes him say inappropriate things. He decides to extract his mutant Buddy Love gene (a sort of genetic version of electroshock therapy), but afterward is unable to maintain his original personality and intelligence. Sherman is the most bland character of the bunch, and the audience gets stuck with his boring romance with fellow professor Janet Jackson, his struggle to be nice, and generic intrigue surrounding a Fountain of Youth formula he developed. When it's not trying too hard to be nice--heck, one character is anally raped by a giant hamster--the movie works. The moral of the story is that Sherman needs to reconnect with their inner Buddy Love. That goes for Murphy, too. --Andy Spletzer

5 out of 5 stars BIG LAUGHS.......2006-12-21

EDDIE IS SO HILARIOUS. HE IS THE ENTIRE FAMILY OF THE KLUMPS. SHERMAN FINDS TRUE LOVE WITH THE BADDEST CHIC. HIS ALTER EGO BUDDY LOVES SIMPLY TRIES TO SET HIM

5 out of 5 stars Talk about Alter Ego!.......2006-12-13

Eddie Murphy is back and strong! Not only does Eddie Murphy carry the multi-personality aspect well, he also adds a strange yet hilariously familiar warm-fuzzy to the film! Awe inspiring Richard Prior is another comedian that made the transition to film making rather smoothly. I've yet to view a Murphy film I didn't like and hope he makes many-many more.

5 out of 5 stars The last greatness of Eddie Murphy.......2006-08-13

I enjoyed both of the films and even though in a way it makes fun of fat people, It's a great movie. I actually liked this better than the first one for some reason. And wo doesn't like the part when grampa Klump farts and lights a curtain on fire (I think that was him anyway). After this film, Murphy's movie career was going downhill (and I mean way down there to a point that you don't slide, you just fall.) I'm sorry to say this but it is just true.

3 out of 5 stars A SHOWCASE FOR EDDIE MURPHY.......2005-12-31

THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II is basically a showcase for the considerable talents of Eddie Murphy. Murphy plays the entire Klump family and he's hilarious in the different characterizations, especially his doting mother and his rather vulgar grandmother. The makeup is astounding in hiding the real Murphy and he has a field day with all of them. As one reviewer noted, Sherman is the most boring of all the characters, and his romantic tryst with Janet Jackson (who is surprisingly good) tends to get in the way of the script's flow. While much of the humor is crude (e.g., the hamster's sexual assault on Dean Larry Miller), one can't help but laugh. There are sexual jokes, flatulence galore, and some hilarious sight gags. Certainly not a classic movie, but admittedly entertaining.

5 out of 5 stars We don't care: we love these movies. Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps........2005-12-15

In your face: Nutty Professor 2 The Klumps RULES!!!!!! and Eddie Murphy is the best actor out since Redd Foxx. of Sanford and Son. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE FAMILY GETTING TOGETHER HAVIN A GOOD MEAL. Quote from THE NUTTY PROFESSOR. Sherman has invented a new product. a youth formula that reverses aging. but beware... 5 out of 5 stars The Nutty Professor I & II.......2007-06-27

My husband and 17 yr. old grand daughter are in heaven, so I guess thats good. I'm not much of an Eddie Murphy fan.

1 out of 5 stars The Franchise Collection Version.....Be Wary!.......2007-06-24

First of all, I have no gripe with the movies contained on this DVD: THE NUTTY PROFESSOR I & II....they're both side-splitting funny and worth owning (see other reviews for the plots). My review is intended to warn would-be buyers to stay away from the Franchise Collection DVD containing both movies, one on each side. This DVD may seem like a bargain price-wise, but it's an inferior pressing. Both movies froze up horribly. Right from the start of the Nutty Professor, during the Universal introduction, it began breaking up. It eventually played, but froze up again later. In the case of the Nutty Professor II, the last scene froze up so badly that it jumped right to the End Credits. I never saw the conclusion of the film. Just to make sure that it wasn't my new Samsung DVD player at fault, I inserted the DVD in my PC and the same thing happened, even worse. Never have I had a DVD so defective. I'm beginning to wonder if the DVD was a pirated pressing. In any case, I ended up ordering the two movies separately through Amazon. Perhaps dual-sided DVDs are just prone to defects. Be wary...you've been warned.

2 out of 5 stars Norbit.......2007-08-24

I love Eddie Murphy in all his movies except Norbit, all I can say is it was just okay to be honest it is nothing to write about so there I said it.

3 out of 5 stars This was a drama, not a comedy.......2007-08-22

I watched the whole movie and it was not funny at all. It was an entertaining love story, but it wasn't funny at all. I didn't laugh except one time when Respusha asked "How you doing?" The movie just wasn't funny and the reason why is that Respusha looked like a man. It was hard to believe that Norbit would marry a woman that looked like a man and stay with her.

Murphy stars as Dr. Sherman Klump, a kind, "calorically challenged" genetics professor who longs to shed his 400-pound frame in order to win the heart of beautiful Jada Pinkett. So, with one swig of his experimental fat-reducing serum, Sherman becomes "Buddy Love", a fast-talking, pumped-up, plumped-down Don Juan. Can Sherman stop his buff alter ego before it's too late, or will Buddy have the last laugh? Boasting incredible special effects, a super soundtrack, and co-starring James Coburn, Larry Miller, Dave Chappelle and John Ales, this hilarious hit is worth its weight in fun!
