Disc 2 The Bob Hope Collection, My Favorite Brunette This film is a must for Bob Hope fans. Hope and Dorothy Lamour are at their best in this rollicking spy caper. Hope, a baby photographer, is able to make his secret desire to be a private eye a reality when he becomes involved with a murder and a dangerous brunette.

Disc 3 The Bob Hope Collection, Bob Hope on TV During the Golden Age of Television, Bob Hope was a favorite performer. See Hope in hilarious comedy skits with friends Jack Benny, Bobby Darin and other stars in this collection of rare footage from the early years of television.

Disc 4 The Bob Hope Collection, Bob Hope At The Movies In a cinematic journey down memory lane, this video escorts you through Bob Hopes' movie career. It features some of the funniest moments from many of Hope's greatest films, just as they were seen in movie theatres during the original release.

Young Bob Hope This compilation features footage from two "Strictly G.I." programmes, produced by the U.S. government especially for the Second World War servicemen, with Hope as the hilarious master of ceremonies.

Disc 5 The Bob Hope Collection, The Comedy Hour Bob Hope's TV special features Hope's salute to (and lampoon) of all branches of American armed forces.

This collection is worth the purchase price if you do not already own "Road to Bali". Bob fans will also find value in the segments from 50's TV shows in which Bob guest starred on the Jack Benny show and on the Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra show. There is also a segment in which Bob guest stars on the Bobby Darin show. Other material includes segments recorded (in a studio) in front of serving military personnel from the 40's and 50's of sketches, dancing and singing from Bob and his guests. The sketches are lampoons of military life and are great vehicles for Bob's wit and physical timing.

Unfortunately much of the material in this collection is of "less than perfect" video and audio reproduction with little effort in cleaning up the original source sound and vision evident.
This is most notable on the copy of "My Favourite Brunette" which is nearly inaudible and very washed-out visually. This is a classic early Bob film so don't buy this set if all you are after is this film. There are other productions of "My Favourite Brunette" available from other publishers.
