Knots Landing was a Dallas spinoff that spent its first season in marked contrast to the latter series' tales of power-grabbing, greed, corruption, conspiracies, and fraternal rivalries. Where Dallas concerned travails of an ultra-rich and influential Texas family, and its many enemies0--all great fantasy stuff--Knots Landing initially evolved as a drama set among Southern California's suburban middle class. Built around the character Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford), a recovering alcoholic and brother of Dallas' scheming J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman), Knots Landing is set on a cul-de-sac in a seemingly peaceful neighborhood of modest houses. Gary, one might recall from several episodes of Dallas, is the black sheep of the Ewing clan. His marriage to the mousy Val (Joan Van Ark) was sabotaged by J.R., and their troubled teenage daughter came to live with J.R. and his parents on their expansive ranch.

Knots Landing begins with Gary and Val making a fresh start on the West Coast. If their second try at marriage works, they reckon, their daughter can come live with them in a stable environment. Gary, who wants nothing to do with the Ewing oil business, takes a job selling classic cars for his new neighbor, Sid Fairgate (Don Murray). But he reluctantly becomes embroiled, along with Val, in several local issues, the most complicated being J.R.'s plans to drill for oil just off the shore of Gary's adopted community. (Hagman, as a guest star, brings a lot of fun to that episode with his affable villainy.) It doesn't take long, however, for other major characters in Knots Landing to emerge as fascinating people in their own right, with no relationship to Ewing history except friendship with Gary and Val. In fact, Sid and his wife Karen (Michele Lee) are, arguably, the strongest characters in the first season, a couple with such strong underpinnings that their arguments inevitably result in a tighter union. Lee's performance, overall, is the best on the show, and several episodes (that look nothing like a primetime soap opera) are clearly written to spotlight her talent.

Gary's other neighbors include self-centered attorney Richard Avery (John Pleshette) and his beleaguered spouse, Laura (Constance McCashin); plus the youthful if little-seen Kenny (James Houghton) and Ginger (Kim Lankford) Ward. The stories in Knots Landing: The Complete First Season generally concern ordinary and familiar things: fear of crime, unexpected pregnancies, raising kids, dating, education, marital discord. Sure, many of the same conflicts occur on Dallas, but the fun in watching that show is recognizing that the super-wealthy and powerful struggle with the same problems the rest of us do. In Knots Landing, conflicts are more earthbound. That won't always be the case on this show: over subsequent seasons and with the addition of more characters and the loss of others, the drama will tilt in another direction. The Complete First Season establishes a solid foundation, however, and there's a lot of merit to it. --Tom Keogh

4 out of 5 stars the original desperate housewives.......2007-09-16

all soaps have a theme, and these themes are universal.

so when a soap ends, and another one takes its place, you get the feeling you've been there before.

thats the feeling you get when i watch desperate housewives, it reminds me so much of knots landing.

i am 36 years old, and grew up on the staple of weekly soaps, and i loved how this dvd collection took me back to 1979, when i was nine and lived through it again.

it was nice seeing the original cast, and hearing the theme all over again.

i look forwars to the other seasons of the show.

5 out of 5 stars Keep signing up!.......2007-08-19

The first season of Knots Landing was good, but the show really got going from Season 2 onwards, when the stories kicked into OTT mode and Abby became one of TV's top villains. Please, everyone, keep signing up to this page - studios DO take notice of customer demand, so maybe we can still get the second season released - and the third, fourth, fifth, etc. ...

5 out of 5 stars Buy this DVD.......2007-08-19

I purchased this DVD at full retail-thats how badly I wanted it. Think of the bargain you are getting today over 50% off. Knots Landing in Season 1 the shows each have a begining, middle and end within the hour-it would be the later seasons that will expand to the serial format-so do yourself a favor and tune into the best written televison show ever. The cast is top notch, great story development and characters we can all relate to.

I want season 2 on DVD that is when Donna Mills joins that cast and things begin to really take off.

5 out of 5 stars Where are the other seasons??.......2007-07-23

Knots Landing Season one is terrific, but the following seasons are even better. Why are they not released yet? It's going on two years since season one was released.

Abby Cunningham arrives in season 2 and things really pick up from that time on, 14 years of the greatest night-time soap ever. Come on and release some more seasons, Warner Brothers!

5 out of 5 stars Where Are The Rest Of The DVD's??.......2007-07-07

Knots Landing was a fabulous show and to release only the first season on DVD is absolutely cruel to the show's fans! I just can't say enough about Knots...the actors were terrific and I just loved those storylines. I know the first season was a little slow moving...but for those who never watched it before...trust me, it gets better and better! Those of us who love this show and want the rest of it to be released need to call/email Warner's and let them know how we feel! I wish they would release several seasons at once, I would definitely buy the entire set if it were available. I know others who would do the same. It is such a shame that quality shows like this one are not available. I am so amazed by this because whenever I'm out shopping for DVD's, I see so many inferior shows on the shelves. I just can't figure it out. I am going to do what I can to contact Warner's, I hope those who love this show as much as I do will do the same.

Amazon.com essential video

Screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin (author of the fanciful Ghost) made his directorial debut with this more serious confrontation with the realities of death. Michael Keaton plays an advertising executive who learns he is dying even as his wife (Nicole Kidman) is pregnant. The film beautifully focuses on his anger over everything: the unfinished business of his life and the probability he'll never meet his child. The late Dr. Haing S. Ngor (The Killing Fields) is terrific as a doctor who helps Keaton's character to recognize the corrosiveness of his rage and to let go. The film is a heartbreaker but truly cathartic for anyone who has felt the blunt pain of losing someone close. Keaton is outstanding. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Movie.......2007-03-18

I just found this movie while hopping channels on my TV before going to bed. It was after 11 PM when I tuned into it; I got hooked shortly and stayed up until 1:30 AM or so to finish it, what with all the lengthy commercials on late night TV. I started after the opening scenes, so I couldn't even tell what the title of the movie was. I had to look it up on Google (keying in Nichole Kidman and Michael Keaton from the closing credits onscreen).
I was amazed with my reaction to this movie. I would be supportive if it was required watching for all people. I of course wept through the scenes of father & son reconciliation, the wonderful birth scenes with the hapless Dad almost passing out from amazement and joy, and the final glorious scenes in the end. I felt so much more in love with my life, my wife, my family, and my God, after watching this movie. That such a wonderful message got through the Hollywood process is amazing to me.
The movie depicts sickness and ultimately death, but it was not sad at all to my mind. Sad at first when "Bob" cannot seem to reconnect to his weird and wonderful family, and when you realize the miracle is NOT going to be survival of Bob's body but eventually becomes that of survival of his soul. Glad, while weeping profusely in the final scenes, at Bob's triumph over his fears and bitterness. How such uplifting themes can be portrayed without offending our various religious beliefs or lack thereof is wonderful.
I plan to make presents of this DVD to all my adult children. Some of the grandkids are old enough to appreciate it as well....

5 out of 5 stars One of Keaton's best........2006-08-09

I love movies. All kinds. But this particular film holds a special interest for me. When I first saw this movie, it was about 10 years after it was made. I had heard about the movie, heard that Michael Keaton's character dies of cancer. So I was a little reluctant to watch a movie about someone dying of cancer when I had just lost my father to the disease. The same exact form of cancer Michael Keaton's character is fighting in the movie. This particular form of cancer is not as common and highly uncurable, so naturally, I was a little surprised that this film depicted this type of cancer. But I have to say that the screenwriter for this film did his homework and did it well. The film does an excellent job of depicting the effects of kidney cancer and the path the disease takes.

I am confident that anyone who has dealt with the fight against cancer will relate to this film, and recommend it, as do I. Even if you have never had an experience with cancer, I would still recommend that you watch this film. It might give you some insight on the complications with cancer and the effects it has on family and the lives of those involved. Not matter how many times I see this movie, it gets to me every time. I highly recommend this film.

5 out of 5 stars Great, Great, Great, Great, Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-03-19

4 out of 5 stars knuckleheads-the war is over!.......2007-08-08

This film must have had a touch of de ja vu for Randolph Scott. As in his 1940 "Virginia City", he is in charge of a stolen Yankee gold shipment in Nevada, meant to help the Confederacy prolong the War. In both cases, this operation occurred just before or just after the War was over. Thus, the question is:What should be done with the gold? They couldn't just give it back to Federal authorities, as they had killed 7 soldiers in stealing it, even if they believed they were acting on behalf of their government. Most of the film involves fending off bandits who know for sure what to do with the gold. In the end, it's not clear(to me) the eventual fate of the gold. Perhaps a fate basically similar to that of the gold in "Virginia City"? More likely, the remaining hostages(now their declared friends!), returned it to Federal authorities, explaining that the theives had all been killed in a shootout with another bandit gang or by themselves(not true)... A good action western. The plot is not complicated, but the basic situation is, especially for the ex-Confederates and their hostages.

5 out of 5 stars A top-notch Randolph Scott western with an explosive start .......2007-01-07

Between 1951 and 1954 the prolific Randolph Scott completed six westerns for Hungarian director Andre de Toth in between times he still found time to make a couple more westerns most notable of which was the highly rated and commercially successful HANGMAN'S KNOT (1952) A Scott-Brown Production for Columbia Pictures. Written and Directed by Roy Huggins. This was Huggins only film as director. Later he moved into television and had such series as MAVERICK and THE ROCKFORD FILES to his credit.

The story is of a small band of Confederate soldiers led by Major Matt Stewart (Randolph Scott) who following an attack a Union gold shipment discover from a Union soldier survivor that the war has been over a month. Lee Marvin plays one of the soldiers in his first of several films with Scott; another of the soldiers is young Claude Jarman Jr. Most of the action takes place in the Sierra Stage Line Way Station, where the soldiers are pinned down along with the stagecoach passengers and station keepers by a renegade band posing as the lawmen led by Quincy (Ray Teal) who were after the gold. Among the passengers are former Union army nurse (Donna Reed) and her no-good fiancée (Richard Denning). The tension rises as the advantage shifts from one side to the other before the leading up the eventual final showdown. A credit to all concerned with high production values throughout.

Hopefully Columbia will digitally re-master other fifty-odd year-old Randolph Scott Westerns like the wonderful RIDE LONESOME (1959) and his penultimate film COMANCHE STATION (1960) they deserve the best of treatment and care for future generations to enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars Great Scott! Great Western!.......2004-06-28

This is the stuff that Columbia/Tristar should be releasing on disc
not another deluxe, special edition of "Spiderman" Randolph Scott is
in top form as the leader of a band of rebel confederates who after
Robbing a Union Convoy & killing all on board they come to find out
that the civil war has ended over a month ago. Faced with choice of
being executed or fleeing for home. As men option the latter only
a posse of bounty hunters ruin the groups chances as
they are forced to take hostages and hold up in a stagecoach shack.

One of the best in a series of good westerns made by Randolph

of characters including Donna Reed,Richard Denning and Lee Marvin
The remaster quality is excellent(almost blinding) in it's bright
technicolor glory. Come on Columbia get the lead out of that film

This instruction DVD has brought so much to the classroom, the students loved it and it was a delight to teach. Very simple to follow and I loved all the extras.
On our next phase we are going to make rope, how cool is that?

5 out of 5 stars Great for Beginners.......2004-11-03

I highly recommend the Why Knot DVD for the beginner to knot tying. Following the DVD step by step enabled me to learn enough in two hours to actually teach others how to tie a dozen knots at a knot tying-exhibit booth at an international youth congress. I can still picture how to tie everything from a sheepshank to a bowline. This DVD sets the standard for teaching knot tying. --Phil Johnson, Bloomingdale, IL

5 out of 5 stars Best Knot Tying D.V.D.......2004-09-28

This is the best and easiest D.V.D to use. It lets you see step by step how to tie different knots. We used the colored rope that matched the D.V.D. which made it much easier to follow. It is much easier than using a book. You can buy the colored rope off their web site at www.KnotTyingVideo.com. It was worth every penny that I paid for this D.V.D

Description

A fresh look at the ties that bind us - and sometimes undo us. With a wry eye on modern sexual relationships from a distinctly male point-of-view, the film follows the romantic crash-and-burn of three best male friends as they get all tangled up in the never-ending battle between men and women, love and satisfaction. It's a relationship comedy…about the romantic disasters we survive amid the search for connection

5 out of 5 stars What goes around.............2006-02-20

This is a Romantic comedy that centers around a theme that is usually un-touched by RC movies: what if your wife turns out to be a lesbian? What's worse, what if the husband (played by Scott Cohen) is a bona-fide good guy who didn't ask to be a part of this mess? Well, things tend to get tied into knots.

John Stamos plays a womanizer (Cal) who would be the idol of most of we men. This is the first time I've seen Stamos in a movie in a long time - thought he looked familiar, but could not quite place him. Anyway, Paulina Porizkova is Lily, who is kind of Cal's counterpart; a womanizing / manizing bi-sexual femme-fatale. She has a knack for wreaking havoc on all the lives she touches.

Michael Leydon Campbell stars as Jake; a character I could relate to the most in this movie. He's your typical good natured nice guy who lacks social skills and is therefore condemned to always come in last. There is a deleted scene (in special features) that I think they should have kept in the movie. It epitomizes his frustrations with women. On the upside, he does get to hang out with Emily (Tara Reid). Most nice guys never score that high on the hotness scale!

This is an RC movie that is sexy, funny and brutally honest. Those who are looking for an unrealistic movie with a fairy tale ending would be best to skip this one. SERENDIPITY it's not.

4 out of 5 stars Untying Knots.......2006-02-09

Knots? weird name! Strange story! Haven't heard of this movie? Neither had I. It wasn't bad though.

Knots is a story about three friends, Dave, (Scott Cohen) Jake, (Michael Leydon Campbell) Cal (John Stamos) and their wives girlfriends and loves.

Dave and Greta's (Annabeth Gish) marriage has devolved into the status of ho-hum. It's nothing they talk about. They may have not even consciously thought it out. Ultimately they agree to move into a new apartment, subconsciously believing it might give their floundering marriage a fixx.

Jake is the guy chicks really like, but unfortunately only to be friends with. Meanwhile friend Cal or someone else is getting further with the girls behind Jakes back. Cal on the other hand has a girlfriend, Emily, (Tara Reid) who travels extensively and when she's away, Cal loves to play and being a fashion photographer doesn't hurt.

Jake is confronting Cal about his latest transgression on their friendship in their local singles bar as Dave amusingly watches from the sideline, when a gorgeous creature catches his eye. This is Lily, (Paulina Porizkova) a mischievous, imp like barrister, who moves right in on Dave as Cal and Jake wander off, still arguing. Lily is putting the serious moves on Dave when Jakes returns. Dave, who is flattered and attracted to this comely vixen, is also repelled by this attraction and attempts to pawn Lily off on Jake, who asks Lily out. Lily demurs, that is, until Dave blurts out that he could come along also. Lily accepts and when Jake inquires about Dave's wife, he quickly includes Greta in the now, double date. Later, at dinner, when Greta seems to object that Dave was out with "the boys", Lily suggests a "girls night out." This is where the fun begins.

Conclusion

Paulina Porizkova playing Lily, is the wildcard in this movie. It's almost like she was injected by some divine plan into these people's lives to shake thing up and shake things up she did. Dave unexpectedly comes home for lunch one day and finds Greta in bed, naked with the equally naked Lily.

This experience leads Greta to demand a divorce. While the divorce is proceeding, Dave runs by the apartment to pick up some things and runs into Greta. Surprisingly, this leads both of them to experience the best sex of their marriage, after which Greta declares she is a lesbian. The thoroughly confused Dave now heads to Lily's office to confront her, whereupon she turns the tables and seduces Dave right on her desk. There's more but I've said enough.

Knots has a plotline not unlike the movie Closer but presented in a light almost wholesome manner compared to that film. Overall, I though the movie was good but not great. The same could be said for the cast, acting, story etc. While it may not be essential that you view this film, If you enjoy sexy comedies, this is a movie you should see.

4 out of 5 stars Amusing movie.......2005-08-22

I enjoyed this movie mostly. It was a fun look at how messed up relationships can get, and the boundaries that are often pushed. The cast is what makes the movie enjoyable, with notable performances from John Stamos, Tara Reid, Anabelle Gish, Scott Cohen, Paulina Porizkova, and Michael Leydon Campbell. Greta (Gish) is married to Dave (Cohen), and both of them end up having sex with their mutual friend Lily (Porizkova). This sends their circle of friends into a dizzy, changing the dynamics of their relationships. It was a funny romantic comedy I found it refreshing.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible fun for an overlooked movie.......2005-06-14

I didn't know what to expect coming into this film, and was VERY pleasantly surprised. Far and away the best part of it is Paulina Pouriskova. She has come a long way from being an SI swimsuit model and is very funny and polished and turns out to be a great actress. John Stamos gives a great turn as well in a much more sophisticated character than he is usually allowed to play. I don't normally think too much of Tara Reid, but she was great, and Annabeth Gish, who is always good, was amazing as the leading lady.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Powerful documentary.......2007-02-27

This wonderful documentary takes us beyond the headlines and rhetoric and into the actual lives of the people who are affected by the debate over gay marriage. Too often people seem to forget that behind any issue are the lives of real human beings, who are no different from you or I. The stories of Mickie and Sam are really shocking--it's hard to believe that in this day and age, in this part of the world, people could be denied such fundamental civil and human rights just because of their sexual orientation. Mickie and her wife of ten years, Lois, were Tampa police officers who were warmly accepted by their colleagues, friends, and relatives, yet after Lois was killed in the line of duty, Mickie was denied Lois's pension because of some greedy relatives, and was then forced to pay for the massive attorney's fees even after losing her appeal. Sam and Earl had been married for over two decades and were raising the three sons from Sam's first marriage together, yet after Earl died, a band of bloodthirsty cousins similarly went after Sam. Earl had left everything to him in his will, yet because of a technical error, they got the courts to overturn Earl's final wishes and put Sam in dire jeopardy of being thrown out of his house. These two men had built their Oklahoma farm up from scratch, and because of these cousins who popped out of the woodwork after Earl's death, Sam was being harassed in so many ways (such as a suspicious fire at a house he rented for extra money and a mysterious woman buying the burial plot next to Earl the very day after his death), and also had to start selling his beloved horses to make ends meet. The cousins meanwhile had said they would sell the farm if they got it. These two stories clearly illustrate just how having their marriages recognised by the state would have helped the surviving spouses immensely. Just having a civil union would not cut it; full marriage would have granted them over a thousand basic rights and privileges that straight couples take for granted.

Throughout the film, we also get the history of marriage and see examples of gay marriage in Canada and Holland. It's shocking how the U.S. lags behind at least 24 other nation-states in regards to such a basic human right as gay marriage. The attitude of not just tolerance but acceptance in Holland and Canada is a far cry from the raging debate in the U.S. People who talk about "the defense of marriage" and the definition of marriage being a man and a woman act as though marriage is some monolithic institution that has been the same for the entirety of recorded history, when in actual fact it's only been in the last 200 years or so (at least in the West) that it's become about love instead of economic or social interests. (Although I do wish there had been some historical discussion about the acceptance of same-sex relationships in past societies, such as Greece and Rome.) Marriage was not even considered a sacrament by the Catholic Church until 1215. And the same rhetoric that opponents apply to gay marriage was once not that long ago used to argue against divorce, interracial marriage, birth control (even for a married couple), and women being equal partners in marriage instead of completely subordinate to a husband. In 1948 90% of the American public thought interracial marriage was wrong too and that it was immoral and would destroy the foundations of society, for example. It's also pointed out that the Constitution has only been amended 17 times since the Bill of Rights was ratified, and that if an amendment to define marriage as only between a man and a woman were to pass, it would be the very first time that an amendment would discriminate against a segment of the population and take away their rights, in lieu of granting more rights to a group of people (such as allowing women and African-Americans the right to vote) or to put more checks and balances on the government (such as changing the procedure to elect the president or directly electing Senators). It also seems baffling how the neo-cons are so against these people who want more than anything to be married, in a culture where divorce rates are higher than ever, the marriage age is rising, and a lot of people are just serially cohabiting instead of making their commitment permanent. For people who throw the phrase "family values" around so frequently, they sure don't practise what they preach about valuing marriage and commited families if those familes happen to not fit into their narrow definition of what a real family is. This film also has some conservative commentators who support gay marriage, such as Andrew Sullivan of the New Republic magazine, and Jeff Cook of the Log Cabin Republicans, showing that, contrary to popular belief, this isn't just something that people on the political left are fighting for.

Extras include outtakes from Boston, a Q&A session with director Jim de Sève, audio commentary by Mr. de Sève and Evan Wolfson, a panel discussion, a brief update on Sam and Mickie (and what one can do to help these poor people), a trailer, filmmaker bios, a resource guide, information on the company Docurama, and a catalog of their other documentaries (some with trailers). Overall, it's a great resource for showing people that this is an issue directly affecting the lives of real human beings, not just some political battle where real people are reduced to statistics or soundbytes. Unfortunately, as wonderful, powerful, and well-made as this film is, the people who most need to see it will probably refuse to see it, or won't change their opinion on the issue, although there are always exceptions, such as Rep. Bob Barr (R-Georgia), who actually somewhat softened his former disgust for and opposition to just the idea of gay marriage.

5 out of 5 stars suitable.......2006-03-24

Though I did not personally view the film, I felt comfortable enough with it to allow it to be screened at the Unitarian Universalist church I attend. The UU Church is interested in social justice issues and welcomed the screening of this important documentary on the nature of marriage in the US.

5 out of 5 stars An Important Documentary.......2005-12-06

As a gay man living in New York who is out in all aspects of my life, I tend to mistakenly think of myself as having all the rights I really need. For that reason, sometimes I forget (and I admit I haven't thought enough about) the very real reasons why this issue is so important. There are over 1,000 Federal rights and privileges that straight married people have that gay couples are denied because of the legal invisibility of their unions.

This film powerfully and poignantly underscores why gay marriage is such an important issue. The film was entertaining, informative, gripping and enraging all at the same time. Unlike many small independent films, the DVD issue contains many extras that made the whole package even more worthwhile.

I strongly recommend this film.

5 out of 5 stars A great docu and marriage and gay marriage.......2005-10-27

Tying the knot is a great movie that shows the history of marriage and how it's changed, and how that affects the fight for gay marriage. The focus stories are personal and captivating. An excellent docu on a important and contemparary issue.

5 out of 5 stars "You cannot tell people they can't fall in love.".......2005-07-24

"Tying the Knot", a documentary from Jim de Seve examines the extremely controversial topic of gay marriage. The documentary blends footage of protests, comments by historians, and speeches by politicians with the very real dilemmas faced by gay couples in America. Years ago, I naively thought that just leaving a will would take care of a surviving gay partner. "Tying the Knot" examines the fate of two gay couples and these stories illustrate how the law fails to protect the surviving partner in the event of death. One of the couples--Mickie and Lois--policewomen in Florida--went through a marriage ceremony together, but after Lois's death in the line of duty, her pension did NOT fall to her partner--but to her family instead. In another example, Earl and Sam lived together for 22 years, and after Sam's death, Earl was supposed to inherit his property. A technicality in Sam's will swung in Sam's cousin's favour, and Earl was tossed out of his former home. If gay marriage were legal, both Mickie and Earl would have been recognized as the surviving spouse, and they would have received all the associated benefits from that. But instead, both Mickie and Earl--not only have to cope with their grief and loss of a life partner, but also have to cope with all the legal fallout from the law's failure to recognize them as little more than roommates. As the filmmaker points out, marriage "takes care" of all the legalities "with one stroke."

But the documentary also raises some thought-provoking questions that go beyond just asking who gets the property in the event of a death. Gay marriage--by granting legal status--also guarantees many other legal protections--even such innocuous rights as hospital visitation, for example. What exactly is so offensive about allowing gays to marry--isn't marriage about "fidelity, and commitment"? And yet those opposed to gay marriage use the "big lie of the Family Value debate"--the idea that gays just want to get married so they can ruin the institution for some bizarre reason.

The film shows gay activists visiting city hall and trying to apply for marriage licenses on Valentine's Day. Somehow, when you see the gay couples lined up (some have been together for decades), it just seems ridiculous that they are turned away. The film argues that the institution of marriage has altered through the ages to accommodate social changes, and it uses the example of an interracial couple--the Lovings--who married in the 1960s at a time in which their union was not recognized by the state they lived in.

While I doubt that "Tying the Knot" will change the minds of those vehemently opposed to gay marriage, it's likely that the film will open the minds of those who wonder what the big debate is all about. Why does anyone get married? Love, commitment and security all seem like valid reasons marriage, and as one man remarked in the film "If you don't like same sex marriage, don't have one"--displacedhuman
