Ed Wood himself stars in his final directorial effort, a lighthearted little nudie romp about a girl-crazy old man who poses as a photographer to entice beautiful models to his home. It's such an effective ruse that he not only coaxes his subjects out of their clothes ("It's for invisible clothes," he insists) and into his bedroom, but the unending stream of babes (along with the odd delivery man) turn his private little romp into a giggly orgy. This being an Ed Wood film, he also dresses up in women's lingerie when the angry agency owners put him on a leash and make him grovel for his impertinence. Barely over an hour long, the production plays like a primitive, unpolished version of a Playboy video--it features full nudity but no hardcore pornography--and Wood makes a remarkably genial lead. It's sad to see the cult director bow out with such material, but it's to his credit that he lends an air of innocence and exuberance to such a flesh-filled trifle. The film was originally called The Love Feast, as the Laugh-In-inspired body-paint credits remind us. --Sean Axmaker

Because No Stars is not an Option.......2005-06-11
I've developed an interest in the movies of Ed Wood of late. They are so poorly done that they tend to be funny. When I learned of this Ed Wood movie that I didn't have, I ordered it. That was a mistake. It seems that the movies is nothing more than an excuse to get girls to strip.
The premise is that he invites models over for "auditions" he then gets them to strip in order to evaluate his new line of see through clothing. Through the day, more and more show up until the orgy gets into full swing. There is no more story to it than that. At least there was no more story that I was able to sit through.
At one time, I did not believe that there was a more boring or worse movie than GLEN OR GLENDA. I was wrong. This one is.
I you want soft core porn, I am sure there are better productions out there. If you want a movie for entertainment, this isn't it.
If 0 stars had been a choice, I would have taken it, unless there was something lower.
Not even good because it was bad!!.......2002-10-01
I bought this DVD because I heard so much about Ed Wood and his classics such as "Plan 9 From Outer Space" but was disappointed.
The plot, if you can call it that, involves the slightly scary character played by Ed Wood, himself, inviting models to his house where they all end up gettin' naked. Might sound good to some but this has to be seen to be believed (and that's not a recommendation!).
Summary: Hire it but don't buy it.
Ed Wood, Jr. writes and stars in this softcore, um, effort.......2001-09-19
We must be clear that "Pretty Models All in a Row," also known as "The Love Feast" and "The Photographer," was not directed by Ed Wood, Jr.; he only did the screenplay and played the lead. Still, that is more than enough to qualify this softcore pornography as an Ed Wood, Jr. film. Ed plays Mr. Murphy, a photographer who hires girls for bogus modeling gigs and then tries to seduce them. However, a trio of domineering women figure out his plan and decide to take their revenge by forcing Mr. Murphy to dress in women's clothing and then submit to their own whims. Since Ed Wood, Jr.'s transvestite tendencies have been covered in "Glen or Glenda," "Ed Wood" and plenty of other places, we all know why Ed wrote and starred in this film. The question is who else he thought would want to see it. Joseph F. Robertson gets directing credit for this 1969 film. Robertson directed one more film under that name but the rests on his resume were credited to Adele Robbins. To be fair, I will bump "Pretty Models All in a Row" up one star since the DVD does include the complete documentary "Look Back in Angora," which would deserve at least three stars all by itself. We have enjoyed the infamous "Plan 9 From Outer Space" for years, and now the rest of the Ed Wood, Jr. oeuvre are become readily available for public consumption as well.
ED WOOD, NAKED GIRLS, AND PLUMBERS, OH MY!!!.......2001-08-18
Pretty Models All In A Row is the DVD release of the exploitation classic The Love Feast by Ed D Wood Jr. Rhino has done an admirable job presenting this film (extra features include a documentary about Wood and an incredibly fast scrolling but thorough filmography) but this film is something best left for true Wood fans only. Those not familiar with his films can expect things like bizarre stream of conscienceness dialogue, bad acting, terrible continuity, and very graphic full nudity (this is NOT a hardcore porno...). Well if you read this far I'm sure you want to see it now, so I'll explain the deep and thought provoking story line. A horny old man (Wood) calls up various modeling agencies posing as a photographer so he can lure young women to his house and get them in bed, however his plans backfire when some past victims show up seeking revenge. I strongly reccomend this film to fans(and freaks), but outsiders beware!
