Pogue attempts to put the pieces of the caseand his lifeback in order with the help of a tape recorder and an eye-patched pooch. But with his deadline to testify on the case fast approaching and bad guys coming at him from every angle, it's definitely a situation that anyone would want to forget!

I remember when this came out, I was excited because Dana Carvey had just left Saturday night live to venture into movies, and Who would have guessed that his carear whould have been so short. unfortunately, his characters and impersonations never translated into box office money. This movie doesn't even try and take advantage of any of his impersonations etc, and is just not funny. We start the film with him waking up and a tape recorder that just fills us in to his amnesia. And then the movie disintigrates from there. Not funny, at times hard to follow, and way cheesy unbelieveable. But, it was before momento and 50 first dates, so you can say that at least some other films got a chance to do it better. Anyway, worth a laugh or to, a trip down SNL memory lane, but not a great collection builder.

This is my all time favorite funny movie. I must have seen it about 50 times, and it hasn't gotten a bit old. I laugh so hard I cry. This isn't slapstick humor, it is suddle and that's what makes it so great!

This movie almost looks like memento ripped off of it. This guy has temporary amnesia, and the plot unfolds as the movie goes on. The plot is very well thought out and clever, revealing something new each minute, but there is one problem. This movie is supposed to be a comedy, and tries hard, but fails to deliver the laughs. There are many desperate attempts at humor in this movie, but only about 3 times does it work. But nonetheless it is an enjoyable 90 minutes, and although it wastes his talent, as one of the few movies Dana Carvey stars, and he is usually so funny, but in this movie he just doesnt deliver.

This is the best comedy of all time. Dana Carvey pulls off the best character of a guy who's got temporary amnesia. He plays the perfect role waking up as a complete moron to the world every morning, whenever he goes to sleep ~ he loses his memory. If you liked Dumb & Dumber...etc. you will love this movie. And it's a good one to buy because you have definately got to watch it more than once. You can't catch everything the first time you watch it. Hope this review helped.

Lucien (Philippe Noiret) is the bumbling police chief of Bourkasa, a dusty outpost in rural Senegal. Badgered by local thugs, Lucien initially comes across as a pathetic oaf unable to stand up for himself. Things at home are scarcely better, as Lucien finds himself harried by his nagging wife, Huguette (Stéphane Audran), who is carrying on an affair with a man she claims to be her brother (Eddy Mitchell). Without warning, Lucien embarks on a nonchalant killing spree, murdering everyone who has ever mistreated him. As he sets about 'cleaning the slate,' Lucien intensifies his affair with ditsy Rose (Isabelle Huppert), all the while pining for the newly arrived schoolteacher, Anne (Irene Skobline).
