In this charming romantic comedy, three-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Pfeiffer ("Dangerous Liaisons," "The Fabulous Baker Boys," "Love Field") and "ER" star George Clooney find that opposites attract whether they like it or not. Melanie Parker (Pfeiffer) is juggling single parenthood with a career as an architect. Jack Taylor (Clooney) is a commitment-shy newspaper cloumnist who only has his daughter every other weekend. When their kids miss a school field trip, Melanie and Jack agree to share babysitting for a day, resulting in twelve hours of hilarious misadventures with one unexpected twist.

This movies is a fun to watch family movie. Except for the G. D's at the beginning, the rest of the movie was great. It had romance along with learning how to be responsible. If you like movies that "tickle your fancy", you'll love this movie.

Michelle Pfeiffer, who is very pretty and a wonderful actress, plays a single working mother Melanie Parker who has a five-year-old son named Sammy (played by Alex D. Linz.) She one day has to hurry to get her son to his field trip. George Clooney plays Jack Taylor who is a writer and sees his six-year-old daughter Maggie (played by Mae Whitman) every weekend. When both their kids miss their field trip, the two are stuck babysitting their two kids while they both also try to work. They also fall in love. Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney have amazing chemistry, and they're both good actors. Alex D. Linz and Mae Whitman are also good actors and they both look like their onscreen parents. I love this movie. It's so good and funny and intelligent humor. I like Michelle more then Meg Ryan or Kate Hudson. She's a beautiful woman and a good actor. And George Clooney looks a lot younger in this movie then he does today, but still also good actor.

When I saw the movie- the first thing that hit me was the beauty of the intro song (One fine day) sang by Nathalie Merchant..wow! then "Hove I told you lately?" sang by Van morrison, which is a nice change form the Rod teward version.. and then tehre is Ella Fitzgerald singing "Isn't romantic?" just for this song the cd is priceless!! have u tried finding it in recollections? i tried and its almost hopeless.
Predictable but nice........2007-03-15
Nice soundtrack. Cuts are listenable and enjoyable. There are a couple of songs on it that I wanted. Since the price was VERY tempting, I gave in and purchased it.

Don't buy this pack if you think Clooney has a major part in Thin Red Line. He's only in the film for 5 minutes. That's it. The movie is great--don't get me wrong. But this is not a "DEAL" if you're thinking Clooney Trilogy.

This gentle comedy almost seems like something out of Hollywood's Golden Age, a movie that might have been made by a talented contract director, perhaps featuring Don Ameche and Claudette Colbert. But in fact it stars George Clooney as an investigative columnist for a New York newspaper and Michelle Pfeiffer as an architect. Both single parents, the two meet and bicker and develop a relationship over the course of a day while their young children play together. Michael Hoffman (Restoration) directs with a good sense of what's funny about harried caretakers and kids who do whatever they want to do. The story stretches out of shape a bit when Clooney's character has to rally to prove some point of corruption at City Hall; nobody involved seems quite up to making that subplot believable, but all that really matters about this very nice movie is the winning love story. --Tom Keogh

FUN MOVIE.......2007-09-10
This movies is a fun to watch family movie. Except for the G. D's at the beginning, the rest of the movie was great. It had romance along with learning how to be responsible. If you like movies that "tickle your fancy", you'll love this movie.
One Fine Movie.......2007-08-23
Michelle Pfeiffer, who is very pretty and a wonderful actress, plays a single working mother Melanie Parker who has a five-year-old son named Sammy (played by Alex D. Linz.) She one day has to hurry to get her son to his field trip. George Clooney plays Jack Taylor who is a writer and sees his six-year-old daughter Maggie (played by Mae Whitman) every weekend. When both their kids miss their field trip, the two are stuck babysitting their two kids while they both also try to work. They also fall in love. Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney have amazing chemistry, and they're both good actors. Alex D. Linz and Mae Whitman are also good actors and they both look like their onscreen parents. I love this movie. It's so good and funny and intelligent humor. I like Michelle more then Meg Ryan or Kate Hudson. She's a beautiful woman and a good actor. And George Clooney looks a lot younger in this movie then he does today, but still also good actor.

When I saw the movie- the first thing that hit me was the beauty of the intro song (One fine day) sang by Nathalie Merchant..wow! then "Hove I told you lately?" sang by Van morrison, which is a nice change form the Rod teward version.. and then tehre is Ella Fitzgerald singing "Isn't romantic?" just for this song the cd is priceless!! have u tried finding it in recollections? i tried and its almost hopeless.
Predictable but nice........2007-03-15
Nice soundtrack. Cuts are listenable and enjoyable. There are a couple of songs on it that I wanted. Since the price was VERY tempting, I gave in and purchased it.

This is one of my most favorite chick flicks! I could watch this over and over again and never get tired of it!
