    5 out of 5 stars A hidden gem!!!.......2007-05-29

I loved this comedy horror flick!!! It is a very "different look" along with a humorous plot. The acting was good and the story stood up well from start to finish. Don't miss this one!!! I am certainly glad that I didn't. I highly recommend this movie to anyone that loves horror flicks with a humorous twist.

    4 out of 5 stars Good Flick.......2006-08-09

Pretty funny movie , different kind of feel to it.
Especially interesting if you live in Seattle where it was filmed , a lot of familiar places.

5 out of 5 stars Delivers The Goods...........2005-04-30

I can remember sitting at home one night and being bored to tears, it was just one of those nights. Then I looked in the tv guide and saw a listing of an interesting movie title: Death by Pizza(thats Delivered's alternate TV title). What I saw when I flipped to that channel was one of the freshest, most fun films i had seen in a very long time. It is amazing to me how a gem of a film like this can just slip under the radar so easily. I am going to start this review by saying that this is one of those truly rare and unknown films that i can recomend to everyone. It is suprisingly that good, and it amazes me how Delivered actually gets a little bit better every time I see it.

The story is about Will Sherman, an underground comic book artist struggling to get his work published. He carries around a tape recorder to record his thoughts and unleash his inner anger. By day he works as a pizza delivery boy, a job he is more and more fed up with day after day. One night he happens to make a delivery at the wrong time, when he unknowingly delivers a pizza to a killer whos victim is hanging in the living room. The killer knows that Will is now technicly a witness and begins stalking will. Well pretty soon the killer gets a hold of Will's tape recorder and begins killing the people in Will's life that he had spoken about on the recorder. Suddenly Will is the prime suspect in a series of murders that he knows nothing about.

At its core Delivered is a very funny dark comedy and most of the jokes hit home. But what really elevates this film above the rest is its suprisngly beautiful comic book atmosphere. For a film with a budget of only $1.5 million it looks great, you would never be able to tell that its not $15 million from the look of it. The acting is very good from the entire cast and the direction is even better. This film was never meant to win any awards and it is a B movie a heart. But at just 90 minutes long it is one of the most fun and entertaining films that I have seen in a very long time. Its an intelligent black comedy with almost "Creepshow" esque atmosphere and great acting. I relly cant recomend it enough. Buy it now, you wont regret it.

3 out of 5 stars Fun Little Indie Thriller/Black Comedy.......2004-12-07

Fun little indie thriller/black comedy about Will, a depressed, underground comic book writer (the late David Strickland) who works as a pizza delivery boy. His tape recorder - filled with the possible demises of his characters - lands in the hands of a charming serial killer (the consistently excellent Ron Eldard) - and the ensuing murders look to be remarkably similar to those "fantasized" about on tape by Will.

Most cinematic killers are portrayed as outcasts, loners, confused so its refreshing to see Eldard attack his role with a vigor and joy in menacing terror not unlike (though much more toned tone) Jim Carrey's Cable Guy.

While decidedly having a B movie feel about it Delivered's cast delivers the goods, and seem to believe in their characters and make it work. I've seen pictures with far, far bigger budgets not provide half the entertainment Delivered does. Cheap and Fun.

        Product Description

"Backstage Shakespeare: Horatio's Tale Lesson Plan Edition" is an interactive DVD on William Shakespeare's Hamlet. There are seven question sets on the DVD; in each of these question sets, passages are quoted from the play on screen in text form (with the exception of a missing word). The user must supply the missing word, which earns the user a ducat (or coin). Over 20 lesson plans are included in PDF format on the disc; the plans may be accessed and printed from any DVD-ROM enabled computer. Each lesson plan contains reading and response questions, journal topics, a crossword puzzle, and, finally, the game on the DVD which corresponds to the lesson plan's theme. Teacher keys and time allotments are provided. Play consists of two modes: two-team mode and single-player mode. Two-team mode is the preferred mode for classroom play. In this mode, questions alternate between a "red" team and a "blue" team. Before each question set begins, Horatio introduces the game's focus. The game then begins. A passage from the play is provided in text form, an audio hint is provided by Horatio, and the participant is asked to choose the missing word from a list of choices. Answering correctly earns the team a ducat (or coin), and play then alternates to the opposing team. After each team is provided three separate and distinct questions, the game enters a lightning round phase. Here, "red" and "blue" teams compete in head-to-head competition as they race against time to answer a set of questions correctly. Following the lightning round, the final score is tallied and the winner is announced.

        Customer Reviews:

        5 out of 5 stars "Horatio's Tale": A Winner for Students.......2006-01-05

Kudos to Backstage Shakespeare! This interactive DVD is an effective and fun way to teach Shakespeare to students, especially those who learn best by not only reading and writing but talking about the text as well. In my experience as both a high school and community college teacher, today's students often need that extra motivation to tackle Shakespeare's language and appreciate his themes. The Backstage DVD provides that motivation in its appeal to students' natural competitive instincts. Once they complete the reading and writing exercises and begin team warfare in answering questions aloud (as in "Jeopardy"), they have so much fun they forget they are learning . . . especially during the lightning round! Mesmerized as young people are these days by video games, this method of learning is familiar and attractive to them.

The DVD is particularly helpful to teachers insofar as it presents an original and organized way to teach Hamlet. The lesson plans are thorough and require that students pay close attention to the play's text. While this DVD may not be appropriate for all high school or community college classes, it is definitely an asset for those needing reinforcement for
        reading and verbal skills.

I recommend it highly for high school teachers and, in some cases, community college instructors as well.
