4 out of 5 stars UNFUNNY IS JUST A OVERSTATEMENT.......2007-07-06

First off, yes it's true Bill Cosby denounce his own film he actually wrote and produced. That gives every right for critics to bash this film. Yes, Leonard Part 6 have some over the top silly moments and have a ridiculous plot that clearly don't need to be taken serious like killer animals that kill at the command of "quelish". Even though it's considered the worst movie it has a great soundtrack. Yes, it's cheesiest at it's best, but there's scenes in the film that work like the restaruant scene where everything goes wrong for the hitman that tries to kill Leonard fyi classic in my opinon. I agree with Mr. Cosby about his reason for falling out with the director which was because of the feud Leonard and his wife had about something soo stupid that a real marriage couple wouldn't fight over for a long period of time as they do in the movie. So, if you're willing to risk buying or renting this crazy time of a movie which now has become a cult raspy classic then do so. Believe it or not I've seen worser movies hint like "dude where's my car","lost in space",ect. So if you like brainless stupid humor then this movie is the epitome of stupid and silliness just think of it as airplane or naked gun with no real strings attached. So allow yourself to indulge in crazy humor and allow to ask yourself what was Bill Cosby thinking when he made this movie. This DVD has no commentary or deleted scenes which I can understand why WITH A MOVIE LIKE THIS IT'S JUST SPEECHLESS. And the reason why I gave it four stars because I don't think it's terrible as critics say it is it sure do has it's moments though.

3 out of 5 stars Underrated, not even his favorite, but a fun watch........2007-01-14

Ok, so what if "Leonard, Part 6" was not one of Cosby's best efforts? At least it was fun to watch even if it wasn't funny all the way through. Cos himself, realizing he was making a mistake, denounced the film, even accepted the razzies he won for it and even bought the TV rights so it wouldn't be seen on TV. It's just one of those cult films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Shock Treatment, Mommie Dearest and Attack of The Killer Tomatoes, it's so bad that it's good. I just happen to be one of those people who likes cult films and I guess LP6 is one of them.

5 out of 5 stars Leonard a hit!.......2005-11-06

Finally it's released on DVD!! I have been waiting for a long time for this movie. I originally heard about LEONARD PART 6 when I was a kid. My dad had video-taped Christmas specials for me and my sister, videos that we still enjoy to this day. Well, my dad has never known how to use a remote, so it caught all the commercials, as well, including a trailer for LEONARD PART 6. I remember seeing the trailer and thinking how cheesy it sounded, and wanting to see it. I finally got my chnace 2 years ago, at a clearance sale at the video store near me. When I saw it, and how cheap it was, I just knew that I had to have it. When I watched it later, I was amazed at how brilliant it was! Everything about this film is underrated!

For those who haven't seen it, here's a short synopsis: After separating from his wife, Leonard Parker (Cosby) quit the spy business and became a restauraniuer. His wife refuses to speak with him, and his daughter, who changes her career more often than her clothes, has begun dating a man old enough to be Leonard's father! On top of it all, the government has asked him to come back and save the world again. The evil Medusa Johnson (Foster) has hypnotised animals into doing her bidding, and plans to use them to take over the world! Only Leonard can battle her Vegetarians and man-eating rabbits!

Really, this is a great film. If you like ballet, ostritches, and exploding vegetarians, this is the movie for you!

5 out of 5 stars Cosby as James Bond- Brilliant!.......2005-08-17

In this overlooked gem, Bill Cosby plays a suave and sophisticated secret agent. He does this so well, that you forget that he is the lovable Dr. Huxtable from The Cosby Show. This is acting. Tom Courtenay, a fine British actor (The Dresser, Dr. Zhivago) plays Leonard's faithful manservant in an understated and well-reasoned performance. I don't see why so many choose to flame this fine film. I doubt they even viewed it. I saw it when it came out (I was one of the few lucky ones) and I am so delighted to own it on DVD, so my children can share the magic. I hope Cosby will return to cinema and give us another Leonard or Ghost Dad.

My fiance and I are huge Cosby fans, so we knew we would love Leonard Pt 6. Boy were we wrong! We both like stupid movies a lot, ie-Napoleon Dynamite, Naked Gun, etc. but this was just too much. Scaring off attacking lobsters with melted butter is where I draw the line from stupid-funny to just plain stupid. Definately not one of Cosby's better moments. Definately rent before you buy!
