DTS 5.1 edition a "mellow" pleasure.......2000-08-02
"Back With A Heart" certainly isn't the type of multi-channel disc that's used as a demonstration disc, but it is a satisfying listening experience nevertheless. The multi-channel mix takes a subtle approach, never hitting you over the head with the use of the various channels. The sound is crystal clear and has a nice punch to it. The thrust of the music -- this was designed as Newton's "return" to country music -- is decidedly on the pop edge, with a few C&W stylings thrown in for good measure.
Fans of ONJ who have the ability to play back 5.1 DTS discs will undoubtedly enjoy this disc as much as I do. Olivia has one of those voices that holds up on repetition, and this is a disc I have yet to grow tired of.
