This M*A*S*H-tastic 36-disc collection is one for the television time capsule. It contains all 11 seasons of this multi-Emmy Award-winning series, PLUS Robert Altman's 1970 iconoclastic anti-war classic, PLUS two discs of special features, including two reunion specials and a series retrospective episode of A&E's Biography. As with the individual season sets, there are no new episode commentaries, a major disappointment. But M*A*S*H-ophiles will enjoy this set's other bonus features, including emotional behind-the-scenes footage of the filming of the last half-hour episode, "As Time Goes By," the inevitable bloopers, interviews with cast members as well as fans about their favorite episodes, a segment about the series' "Jocularity," a parade of PSAs (cut down on salt to avoid heart disease), and the text of an unproduced script penned by Alda for an episode titled, "Hawkeye on the Double." All of this material (except for a commemorative booklet) is available elsewhere in different configurations, but this space-saving (albeit ungainly packaged) box set collects them all under one tent.

Adapted for television by legendary comedy writer Larry Gelbart, the series has long since supplanted Altman's film in the public's consciousness. Life and death at a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War doesn't seem like ripe fodder for a comedy series, but M*A*S*H masterfully balanced laughter and tears (less so in its later, more preachy seasons). It often does play better without a laugh track (a viewing option for all episodes). During its run, M*A*S*H survived several delicate operations, including the departure of Gelbart after season 4 and the loss of core ensemble members McLean Stevenson as Col. Henry Blake and Wayne Rogers as Trapper John (after season 3), Larry Linville as Frank Burns (after season 5) and Gary Burghoff (a veteran of the original film) as Radar (after season 8). The show thrived with the introduction of some new blood, Henry Morgan as "regular Army" Col. Potter and Mike Farrell as compassionate BJ (season 4) and David Ogden Stiers as elitist Charles Emerson Winchester III (season 6).

M*A*S*H was honored with the prestigious Peabody Award "for the depth of its humor and the manner in which comedy is used to lift the spirit and, as well, to offer a profound statement on the nature of war." This was a sitcom that did not always leave you laughing, as witness the classic season 3 episode "Abyssinia, Henry." And throughout its run, M*A*S*H broke the sitcom mold with several episodes, including "The Interview" (season 4), in which Clete Roberts interviews the staff of the 4077th, "Point of View" (season 7), subjectively seen through the eyes of a wounded soldier and "Life Time" (season 8), which unfolds in real time. M*A*S*H boasted one of television's greatest ensembles, fully embodied characters who each became icons, most notably Alan Alda, who served with distinction as Hawkeye, the series' soul and conscience. But a special salute to Loretta Switt, whose Margaret Houlihan went from "Hot Lips" to nobody's pushover. From the "Pilot" to the feature-length finale, "Goodbye, Farewell & Amen," still the most-watched episode in history, this essential (but not so much if you bought the individual season sets) collection honors one of television's greatest half-hours. --Donald Liebenson

5 out of 5 stars MASH Collection.......2007-09-15

I was looking to purchase the entire series of MASH and I found them all individually at a store in my neibourhood but I looked on Amazon and found all the seasons as well as extra features and the movie in one box set for less than half the price of the individual sets! Not only was it an awsome deal it was well packaged and has excellent quality!

4 out of 5 stars Only had it a week, and the disks are scratched already.......2007-09-11

Who designed the packaging for this product? While I am 100% satisfied with the content, the poor packaging concept is a major flaw. Its great if youre going to store it in a library and not play it, but once you remove and reinsert the disks a few times, they will get ruined. You have to force them in or out of those tight cardboard slots. And thats if the glue holds up.

4 out of 5 stars Bought It For My Hubby!.......2007-09-06

My Husband is a HUGE M*A*S*H Fan and I got this for him. He loves it and is currently watching the entire series from beginning to end. Only suggestion I would have is to buy DVD cases for each DVD. This is because they are only held in by a cardboard slot which tends to scrath the DVDs. Wish it was packaged better, but still a great deal.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT series!!.......2007-09-06

I've been wanting to get the M*A*S*H* series on DVD for some time, and the price for this wonderful DVD set is just right. Since receiving the collection, my wife and I have been watching an episode a few nights a week, and loving it. This is a timeless show, full of comedy and drama and a strong cast.

The only negative to the set is the packaging. From a graphic design standpoint, the packaging is top notch. From a practical standpoint, it appears as though if I leave the disks in the original packaging, they're sure to be scratched.

Buy this collection!!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent video quality, Poor box.......2007-08-31

The quality of the video is quite good, considering how old the source material is. The show itself, as always, is excellent, but the box leaves something to be desired. It is difficult to slide a disc into its little sleeve without removing the neighboring discs and prying open the sleeve with your fingers. Also, the cardboard seems to be scratching the discs.

Season one of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman captures the popular television series at its most charming and original: a gently feminist, 19th-century Western with mythic overtones, a Gunsmoke-like vision of small-town constancy, and an audacious love story that might best be described as Buckskin Bronte. British actress Jane Seymour scrubbed away her accent to play Michaela Quinn, fifth daughter of a well-to-do Boston physician who encouraged her to get a medical degree despite social obstacles.

The headstrong Quinn moves to rough-and-tumble Colorado Springs to set up a practice, faces stiff resistance from the locals, witnesses the brutality of white America's expansionism, and generally experiences a classic Western transformation from privilege to pioneering. Along the way, Quinn makes a heartfelt connection with the mysterious Sully (Joe Lando), a laconic outsider/cowboy-knight-errant/widower preserving his broken heart. While the series' pilot may be the best thing in this set, there is a lot to enjoy about further episodes (with such guest stars as Johnny Cash and Robert Culp) exploring Quinn's hard-won admiration from town skeptics. Dr. Quinn creator Beth Sullivan admirably balances the many influences and narrative forces at work; some of the best shows are idea-driven, such as "Portraits," which deals with prejudice. --Tom Keogh

    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Dr Quinn fans must have!.......2007-09-04

I requested the Dr. Quinn series for my birthday and my husband rolled his eyes. "Girly" he called it. Yet every night he says we can watch an episode - I think he's hooked too! For anyone who enjoyed watching Dr. Quinn on TV, likes Westerns, History of the Western Frontier, or enjoys dramas with some action and comedy will enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Feminism as a Family Value.......2006-07-03

Ditching my TV in the mid 1980s made me happy. There was not much worth watching. When I acquired a secondhand TV ten years later, it was for video movies only (and then DVDs, when they became popular). But I was running out of movies. I was sick of all the gratuitous sex and violence--and the depiction of women as vapid sex kittens, their value in meeting Mr. Right, and men as James Bond clones.

    Then I met Dr. Quinn.

The glowing Amazon reviews inspired me to start renting. What I was not prepared for was how feminism suffuses this series. What are "family values," exactly? Not the insipid standards from sit-com land, where humor consists of putting someone down at the expense of another. These "family values" are kindness, reverence for nature, respect of people regardless of race or gender...in short, the golden rule to treat others as one would want to be treated. A TV show that includes respect for women as independent, intelligent people is a rare find. But one might expect this in a series that a woman conceived, women produced, and where the majority of episodes were written by women as well.

The feminism in Dr. Quinn is not devoid of art. It's not a political statement smacking you in the face. It's an organic part of the story. The story is always first, which is what makes this show so great. We sympathize with Dr. Quinn as she struggles against the sexism and patronizing attitudes of the townspeople, trying to set down roots as the "lady doctor."

Racism takes its rightful place alongside feminism. We are rightfully horrified by the white people's mistreatment of the sensitively portrayed Cheyenne Indians (of particular note is the wonderful wise character of Cloud Dancing). And we see how the town's hatred and mistreatment of black people poisons, especially the ones who hate. The writers achieve a nice balance between depicting the world as it was, while simultaneously showing that the "world as it was" was sometimes very misguided.

For the first half dozen episodes, Jane Seymour does not seem to have settled into her character. It takes almost the entire first season to sense her as a rounded person. But if the characters are not quite developed, they are not caricatured either. The acting is superb, making one want to know more about these people whose lives are already so intertwined and promise to be more so in future seasons. It's unusual to have such a large cast; but every person stands out as an individual with something to offer the plot.

As Jane Seymour states in one of the special features, she did considerable research to make sure that the medicine of that time period was accurately portrayed. The thousand of little details, from costumes to sets (and horseback riding skills) all add to the authenticity of the episodes.

Season One, which provides the foundation for subsequent seasons, left me with an urgent desire to see more. Highly recommended. I'm giving this 4 stars because most of the other seasons are even better.

    5 out of 5 stars great show.......2006-04-22

I have so enjoyed the first season of Dr. Quinn that I ordered 2 more seasons. I was too busy being a teenager when the series was on but did catch a few episodes. Good quality shows are few and far between these days.

4 out of 5 stars The show had more of an edge than it got credit for.......2006-03-31

This is a review of Dr. Quinn for those who would run a mile from anything described as "wholesome family entertainment" (intending no disrespect to those who appreciate such shows). Yes, children were part of the intended audience of this series, and a lot of the characters' delivery reflects that knowledge, but there were other, more adult aspects of the show that usually aren't given enough credit.

Dr. Quinn and Sully: Sure, Joe Lando's Sully looked like the cover of a romance novel, but the fact remains that these were two very good looking people with a lot of chemistry. In the first couple of seasons, the sexual tension between them was so palpable you could cut it with a knife.

Whatever edge the show had came primarily from Jane Seymour, a sometimes underrated actress who could go to some pretty dark emotional places in the show's more dramatic episodes.

Season One was the most innovative musically and cinematically. The show that year had a movie look, with a lot of visual depth to scenes, imaginative camera work, and an evocative musical score. Any episode in the series directed by James Keach is a feast for the eyes, and perhaps not surprisingly, as he is her real-life husband, Jane's beauty is particularly mesmerizing in Keach's shows.

There was a recurring cast of Native American characters that is rare if not unheard of in modern television. Many of the best North American Indian actors (with special kudos to Tantoo Cardinal) appeared in "Dr. Quinn" through the run of the series. Season Three's episode Washita, the culmination of what in fact was a historical event, is one of the most powerful hours of television I've ever seen.

Most tellingly, Dr. Quinn tackled some very loaded social issues. One of her first friends after she arrives out West is a prostitute. Her own hesitation about getting sexual with Sully is less a matter of virtue than of fear and inexperience. Some of the ugliest aspects of race relations, including attempted lynchings and atrocities against the Indians were incorporated into the show. Although approached with a 1990's sensibility, the issues grappled with existed at the time, and in many cases are still with us today.

That any show could encompass all of the above and prove popular over the course of six years (and longer) says something about the uniqueness of Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman.

3 out of 5 stars Fantastic series: not great recording.......2005-12-22

I am a long standing fan of Dr Quinn, having grown up watching it every week along with Little House. I cannot fault the programme, cast or plots, you become completely immersed in the series and want to buy the whole collection.
However on my set of DVD's the speech is out of sinc by about a 2 second delay in some episodes. This makes watching the DVD's most frustrating. I am assuming that I have just got a faulty set, but all three DVD's are the same. For the expensive price I expect something better than this, it is not like it is an old programme 1993 was beyond getting simple things like speech correct! I am only saying this to warn other people, but don't be put off, as the series is fantastic!!!

In an age when women are expected to be seen but not heard, Dr. Michaela "Mike" Quinn is a renegade, an independent spirit who forsakes her home in genteel Boston for the rough-and-tumble life of the frontier. But the prejudice she encountered back east pales in comparison to the challenges awaiting in Colorado Springs

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman breathed new life into a tired genre and brought families together around the TV for six seasons with its refreshing take on the Western, blending a distinctly modern sensibility with painstaking historical authenticity and tales of courage, conviction, and romance. This collection features all 25 episodes from the third season of the five-time Emmy Award winner starring Jane Seymour and Joe Lando, available on DVD for the first time.

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman has done it again. The third season is just as charming as the first two seasons. Michaela and Sully finally start their lives as a couple, go through some tough times in the process, and finally get married in the season finale. This DVD has excellent picture quality and an interactive Menu with summaries of each episode and the option of scene selection. It's a great installation for any Dr. Quinn fans who want to own the complete collection.

    4 out of 5 stars Excellent television.......2006-02-28

Though the DVDs are horribly expensive, this is still one of the best programs. It takes me a year to justify spending the cash on each of the early seasons, but they are well-used when I receive them.

Dr. Quinn Medicine woman is a wonderful series for everyone to watch. Our family loves it! It seems like we wait all day just to enjoy our movie night watching medicine woman. I enjoy it because it is a good clean movie as well as adventurous and romantic. The boys like the action parts that fill many of the shows with Sully and the indians.

Great DVD collection of a great TV show. We will be collecting all of the series.

5 out of 5 stars Truly worth buying.......2006-05-12

The plot has been so well described by other reviewers, so I'll skip that part. I bought the DVDs of the first two seasons here in Germany and now I do hope someone will decide to release season three (and the following) soon!!!
This series conveys quite a lot of the true values in life, and also gives the viewer something to reflect on, and does so in a very entertaining way, with great acting, beautiful scenes, a bit of humor thrown in every once in awhile and - very rarely found - a romance that i s definitely romantic enough without losing touch with reality; it's thoroughly believable and that's what makes it all the more charming.

    4 out of 5 stars Love it.......2005-08-22

I love Dr Quinn and all the characters of this show. This is an oportunity to watch something good, well writen and well acted with all the family. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have subtitles in Spanish and sometimes the accent makes it difficult to understand what they say.
    Enjoy it!

4 out of 5 stars everything is beautiful......except the price!.......2005-06-07

This would have gotten five stars except for the price. I ended up paying around 72 dollars(included shipping) but compared to so many other series I have gotten, that is quite expensive. Everything else about Dr. Quinn is wonderful. Beautiful picture, gorgeous actors, good moral show. It is worth it, I guess.

5 out of 5 stars The second season is even better than the first..........2005-05-23

I loved the first season of this show, but I have to say, I liked the second season even better! I think Micheala Quinn is one of the most admirable, courageous women who made this show very enjoyable to watch. Of course, it was also nice to see the blossoming releationship of Micheala and Sully! You won't be disappointed with this season!

5 out of 5 stars Timeless DVD set!.......2007-01-20

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman was a great TV show when it aired as a TV series and I'm thrilled that the DVD sets are available for us to watch and collect. I have purchased every season for my teenage daughter. She just barely remembered watching the TV series as she was very young when they were aired on TV. She fell in love with the timeless magic that the characters of this TV series wove into every episode. You don't have to worry about language, sex or lots of violence. You will enjoy romance and adventure with these DVD's. These DVD's are clean family entertainment. Something we need more of!

A very factual and down to earth series, which highlights the Indian and Amercian disputes. A fantastic serie.

5 out of 5 stars Very good season..........2005-05-23

I would rate this season about even with season three, which makes it excellent! The townfolk are changing even more, as are Michela and Sully, who are now a married couple. This season, like season three, also has some very memorable episodes and it is definitely worth buying and watching over and over again!

5 out of 5 stars Dr. Quinn is wonderful, perfect for the whole family........2007-01-15

I now own all six seasons of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman on DVD. I can tell you that the cost was completely worth it. I grew up watching "Little House on the Prairie" with my parents. It was one of many tv shows on in the mid to late 70's that was family oriented. Dr. Quinn picked up that family oriented theme in the mid-90's, but was one of few that did. I was at the end of my college career when Dr. Quinn came on tv, just getting married. I was very sorry when it went off the air, as I know that family oriented programming was becoming a thing of the past. Now I have two children, ages 4 and 1 1/2, and I don't watch any family programming with them, as my parents did with me and "Little House", because there isn't any! It's all reality based or it's too scarry. There is nothing that we can all sit down and watch as a family. I even feel some of the movies Disney is putting out are right on the line. However, since I have Dr. Quinn on DVD, we sit down as a family and watch. It is one show I can count on to be ok for my family. So, if you are looking for wholesome, exciting drama (with a nice love story), Dr. Quinn is it! There isn't one episode that I don't like. It's too bad this kind of programming is extinct.

3 out of 5 stars Dr Quinn Season 6.......2006-01-31

This season wasn't my favorite but it was slightly better then 5. It does complete the collection so it's a must have for DQ fans..

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU

4 out of 5 stars Serious Season, And a Hankerin' For Hank.......2005-12-17

Season 5 of "Dr. Quinn - Medicine Woman" has 7 Volumes to savor. 25 episodes that include a couple of 2 parters. There are some great guest stars, wonderful history lessons, and as always an emotional roller coaster of storylines.Mixed in with the heartwarming stories, the season tackles some very serious subjects. Some subjects in fact, although well and tastefully presented, may lean a little toward the PG-13 audience.Or at least you may want to view and discuss with your youngster, the seriousness of the subjects.

One of the episodes I thought might be a little on the Pg-13 scale was "Before The Dawn". Horace is very depressed at his divorce from Myra, and tries to commit suicide. Of course, the town rallies to his rescue, sees him through this tough time and in the end, all is well. A good lesson of sorts, but I felt like, it was dealt with a little too easily.Others, although tough subjects, were good lessons on tolerance, good values and were well presented. 'The Body Electric", has poet Walt Whitman visiting Colorado Springs, and even Mike gets a little paranoid when she learns of his sexual preference. Other stroylines, include Mike trying to juggle her family life, her new baby and her practice(something very real to women of today)in "Having it All", adventure and danger in "Hostage" as Mike, baby Katie and Brian are held hostage by bank robbers,Matthew is very a much a man now and tries to uphold law and order as Sheriff(sometimes having to work against his own family) there's romance, sentiment,a budding relationship growing between the now college student Colleen and Dr.Cook, as well as Dorothy and Cloud Dancing.Disasters, disease, and prejudice are all among the storylines this season. Brian is growing up and gets into some trouble, that endangers the town(hey, nobody's perferct), Jake has a pretty nice evolving romantic storyline, but one of my favorites, Hank, is bearly noticeable through most of the season.

The season ends with a very dramatic, heartpumping and touching 2 part episode titled "Moment of Truth". The Indians are being treated despicably. Cloud Dancing takes the worst of it as he is horribly beaten by the soldiers just for coming back a little late on his day pass. Sully puts himself and his family in danger when he plans an escape for the Indians, and we are left literally, with a real cliff hanger.(You may want to have Season 6 on hand already).

Guest stars include Willie Nelson,Johnny and June Cash are back, David Carradine, Donald Moffat, Ally Mills and it's a real treat and family affair, as the Keach men make appearances as well. The DVDs are as always beautiful. The Colorado mountains look gorgeous. Not much in the way of features, some commentary, and bios. A couple of things to note, one not so important, but A&E, check the back of Vol 7. A misprint. His name is Sully, not Scully! The other, something I've mentioned in all the other seasons(and has kept me from going 5 stars)....A&E..this is a wonderful family series, please add some subtitles and captions for hearing impaired, so all may enjoy it. There are some stories revolving around the town's feeling of a Mexican woman(now a regular on the show) who has come to town("Los Americanos"), wouldn't it be nice if there were subtitles in Spanish on it.

All in all a great season, and a great series, which has never and still doesn't shy away from telling it like it was(and in some cases still is).Fans won't want to miss this emotional season. A little high priced, you may want to check with the outside sellers for a better deal.

    Enjoy......Laurie

5 out of 5 stars One of the best seasons of the series. .......2005-07-21

I started watching Dr. Quinn when it was well into its 6th season and by the time I really got into it the show sadly and unfairly had been canceled. Well, obviously with reruns on PAX & Hallmark as well as various tape tradings I have seen all the seasons of DQ, but not all the episodes. Season Five has alot of episodes that I had either not seen or seen only once so it was a treat to watch this season again. First of all the commentary by Shawn Toovey (Brian Cooper) and Chad Allen (Matthew Cooper) on "Legend" was amazing. Chad Allen is very informative and hilarious giving alot of behind the scenes info on the series and the actors. Shawn Toovey was less talkative especially since most of the stories Chad refered to were from earlier seasons when Shawn was only 8 or so. Still, the pair seemed like close old friends happy to be together again.

I still haven't re watched all the episodes yet but I found "Having It All" to be an excellent introduction to the Sully family's life with newborn Katie (played by the Calabrese-forgive me for the misspelling- triplets) and the departure of Colleen (Jessica Bowman) for college. "All that Glitters" has Colleen return from college a changed women more confident and independent. "Los Americanos" has the introduction of a new character Senora Teresa Morales a Mexican widow one of the only people throughout the series who are not won over by Dr. Mike's charm and starts a back story that goes throughout the season, Brian's jealousy of his new sister and his wish to get more attention from his mother. "Remember Me" gives Jake Slicker more back story and a reason behind his alcoholism. "Legend" gives Matthew more of chance to forgive me- "play" sheriff and I can't help but love the exchange between Michaela and Matthew before he goes into the bank as mother and son. "Separate But Equal" brings racism of the day to light. "Season of Miracles" finally gives the Reverend a storyline as he goes blind and "The Dam" emphasis Matthew's need to be seen as a man and sheriff of the town at all costs and an wonderful exchange between Matthew and Sully as father and son which isn't seen much. "A House Divided" brings Daniel to the scene and shows that even the best marriage has hard times. "Hostage" is a suspenseful episode much like "Point Blank" which we will see in the six season. "Before the Dawn" brings back the much loved Myra and Samantha Bing giving us a very heart wrenching episode dealing with Horace's depression."His Father's Son" concludes the storyline started with "Los Americanos" in which Brian confronts his wish to fit in his adopted family as he feels ignored because of the new biological daughter in the family. "Moment of Truth" starts an arc which perhaps nailed Dr. Quinn's coffin but still a good episode nonetheless.

Like I said I thoroughly enjoyed this season, even though I personally could have dealt with less doting on Katie. I often wanted to yell at the screen "Come on Sully, Michaela you have the three other kids!" as well as Matthew's often irritating behavior- arresting your own father? Ruining the land where you had your vision quest? Resenting the fact your father wants to protect you? Walking into a bank robbery without a weapon? Not the most finest season for Matthew Cooper.

Definitely a must see! Can't wait for season six to come out :-)

Two strong-willed, capable female doctors with differing approaches to medicine must forge a working relationship when their practices are merged in this premier season (2000) of Lifetime television's longest running original series. All 22 episodes are included in this five-disc DVD box set beginning with the "Pilot," which introduces the characters and frenzied setting of the visceral drama. In an award-winning role, Rosa Blasi plays Dr. Luisa "Lu" Delgado who runs the inner city South Philly Women's Clinic serving a full caseload of indigent, drug addicts, and abuse victims. A straight-talking maverick, Dr. Delgado is sympathetic to the plight of her patients as she fights to keep her free clinic afloat despite financial hardships. Janine Turner (Northern Exposure, Cliffhanger) plays Dr. Dana Stowe, a polished-if-not-sterile surgeon at the prestigious Rittenhouse Hospital treating patients on the opposite side of the city and socio-economic spectrum. Practicing textbook medicine, Dr. Stowe chafes at Delgado's unconventional methods. (Turner will remain in the series until the early part of season three). A stroke of fate pairs the women to run a brand new women's heath center and, although sparks fly professionally, the doctors haltingly approach a level of understanding. The season explores a variety of women's health issues: infertility, abortion, rape, genetic testing, co-dependency, breast cancer, and right-to-die. Complex medical questions are explored from several perspectives without succumbing to quick resolutions. Undoubtedly, the series has grown in popularity because of the underpinnings established this first season. Blasi and Turner develop a compelling rapport—alternatively appreciating and opposing each other—while a supporting cast adds depth in standout performances by Josh Coxx (as nurse/midwife Peter Riggs) and Jenifer Lewis (as receptionist Lana Hawkins). Intense drama is tempered with comic relief, usually by way of Hawkin's banter and, in one case, her correct diagnosis of a patient's phobia of bald men. Season one introduces a budding romance and ends with a cliffhanger. Lending their vision are executive producers Tammy Ader and Whoopi Goldberg, who also plays a prominent role in the Pilot episode as Dr. Lydia Emerson, a women's health pioneer who returns in three additional stories. The only deficiency is the absence of bonus material: interviews, audio commentaries, or outtakes would strengthen the package. (Caution: violence, language, and adult themes). --Lynn Gibson

      Description

Dr. Dana Stowe (Janine Turner, Northern Exposure, Cliffhanger) is the head of women's medicine at Rittenhouse Hospital and doesn't let her emotions get in the way of her work. Dr. Luisa "Lu" Delgado (Rosa Blasi, Noriega) runs an inner city clinic and does whatever it takes to get her poverty-stricken clients the care they need. When the two women are paired up to run the Rittenhouse Women's Health Center, they must learn to work together even with their respective approaches clearly on opposite sides of the operating table. But can they get past it? From Executive Producers Whoopi Goldberg and Tammy Ader, this long-running Lifetime series contains all 22 first season episodes on a 5 disc DVD set.

This is one of my favorite shows. I have contacted Sony for a release date, but I can't seem to get a difinitive answer. This has been out for almost 2 years. Please post a response if anyone knows what to do or who to contact to request the other seasons be released. I'll sign a petition if that will help!!!

5 out of 5 stars An inspiring series.......2007-04-05

This is one of the most inspiring series that I've ever seen. I have seen in the online message boards how many young girls have written to the actresses, talking about how this show has inspired them to become doctors. Many women are out there without good medical care or the means to provide for themselves. This show inspires us women who have nothing to become something. It is also a really cool drama that will open your eyes to diseases and other health related issues in a way that ER will not. ER is more focused on the relationships between the actors, where this show is focused on the health issues and their impacts on the people's lives. A very, very good show. I've gone as far as calling Sony directly, asking them to publish the rest of the seasons!
