5 out of 5 stars Tasty Guacamole.......2004-05-29

Tangy was extradionary, it shows you what spring break is really about. It's cool when somebody lives the experience and then transforms it into a film. Girls in bikinis getting wild is what defines spring break, and there is some skin showed in the film. Another real fact from the movie is when guys put drugs into girls alcohol drinks(real fact) I thought that was cool for the public to know, specially young girls who haven't experience spring break. Explendid movie, I highly recommended, you'll laugh your ass off. Word Up!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Very Trippy Movie! It's rated "GP!".......2004-05-25

I rented this flick at Hollywood Video after hearing that it was "GP" by my friends in Northern Cal. "GP" flicks are hard to find. If you're looking for a Freddie Prinze JR comedy, this ain't it. It's nuts! I haven't seen many indies that are so colorful and off-beat... where the characters are over-the-top and quirky. You can stare at the screen and be treated to countless images of real spots in Mexico and the women are hot as hell! I checked out the website and there's even more info on these cartoon-like characters, and more pictures of the girl who played Tonya. Jordan Wood! Hot! What this girl does in the movie is classic.

The writing is dry and parodies a lot of these teeny-bopper movies that are predictable. This story has a bunch of spring break moments that everyone can relate to, it pokes fun at macho fraternity muscleheads, a weirdo guy named Jerry that creeps you out-then makes you crack up... and most of all, the music takes you on a ride. Tangy is a cult film.

One bad note, the movie poster on the box is cheezy and does not give the viewer the correct representation of Tangy Guacamole. People looking for a T and A No Brainer, like the guy below in Montclair... may be upset. People like to be critics and break it down like Ebert and Roper, for their own taste! My taste is anything that makes me laugh and this flick gets funnier each time I watch it.

The filmmakers of this project should ignore the "haters" who pretend they are intelligent movie guru's. Like David Chapelle says, "Chill out and enjoy some "GP" beeaatch." You have to respect a director and a cast that mix up the way these stories are told and raise a big middle finger to the cynics. Toothbrushes and cults with parodied romance? My friends and I loved the guac.

Expand the mind to it! It's "GP" Baby!

1 out of 5 stars Horrible Movie.......2004-05-14

One word to describe this movie is Horrible. One of the all time worst Comedies ever made. Very bad acting not one good actor is this movie. This Director must have out of his mind to even work on a horrible film like this. Dont waste your time or money on this DVD please people dont. It is not even worth the .99 cents I paid to rent the DVD. In fact im going to tell them the DVD was messed up to get my money back. I don't believe in giving anything at all a bad review but I must here. My advice to the director of this film please find another profession to get into. How could you make a rotten movie like this. In the future please shoot your movies on video tape or film. It looks real bad when you use both film and video.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliantly conceived and crafted Spring Break comedy.......2004-03-03

Mike Deeney has proven to be quite a gifted filmmaker with his first movie, "Tangy Guacamole".

I don't want to spoil a second of the film for you, so I won't bother with a plot summary...just be ready for some terrific writing, directing, and acting. The scenes are well thought out, hilarious, and, (for all of us spring-breakers out there...), totally appropriate for the themes of the movie.

Everything about this film conveys Deeney's true love of cinema as art and a source of entertainment. He blends the two in a mixture more hot than tangy, and into something more rich than guacamole.

For the High School/College scene, this film is truly a breath of fresh air, letting us know that the fun, rauncy, sexy, crazy comedies of the past are still alive. For those of you past your Spring Breakin' days, this film should serve as a nostalgic piece, one that allows you to reminisce back to your youth, when you were all insane, and worry-free...hell, you just loved having fun...

5 out of 5 stars From the Horses Mouth.......2003-12-03

The characters speak to me (and for me) in this epic story about Spring Break in "The Mexico." The absolute ability to capture every college Spring Break into one picture is Mike Deeney's true success. This is a must see if you are in college, or have ever been on a Spring Break trip, to anywhere!!
