Opposites attract in this conventional but refreshingly unpredictable romantic comedy. New York nightclub designer (Matthew Perry, from television's Friends) is in Las Vegas to supervise the construction of a new project when he meets a fiery Mexican beauty (Salma Hayek). It's lust at first sight, and their one-night stand takes an unexpected turn when she shows up three months later to announce that she's pregnant. They're determined to do right for each other, so they get married in a Vegas chapel with an Elvis impersonator as their witness. Then comes the hard part--trying to figure out if they're actually compatible. The plot complications are mostly familiar, but Perry and Hayek throw some bright sparks as their initial bliss turns to more realistic concerns for family and future. Along the way there's some sharp dialogue and a few good laughs to give this all-too-human comedy an enjoyable spin. --Jeff Shannon

Feel good every time........2007-09-14

I have been watching this "feel good" movie for a while now, and I absolutely love it, as it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I purchased the dvd so that I can watch it as often as I like.
Both actors gave a fantastic performance, and had great chemistry.

Salma Hayek & Matthew Perry are an incredible combination together. There are so many funny scenes it's hard to pick a favorite! Growing up in a "multi-culture" family myself, it's funny how people can be so different & so much alike at the same time. It's not just a chick-flick & people of different backgrounds can enjoy all the "spice" of this delicious romantic comedy that takes place in beautiful Central Mexico & Viva Las Vegas!

Too bad that they never came out with the sound-track to this movie ... the music is just a good as the movie!

Fools Rush In brings to the screen the love story between a yuppie WASP from New York City and a young Mexican woman from Las Vegas. Following an unexpected one-night stand the two go their own separate ways. As luck (or fate for that matter) would have it, the two are far from seeing the last of each other...
Though not a masterpiece, it is a romantic comedy guaranteed to provide more than a just a few laughs.
Matthew Perry, Salma Hayek, (both of whom are simply GORGEOUS!) and the rest of the cast, have truly outdone themselves with their performances, which are wonderful to say the least.
The setting, the dialogues, and the humor are all good.
Overall, Fools Rush In is a movie definitely worth watching, and even though you might want to stop short of adding it to your collection, it will surely put you in a good mood!

Irresistible.......2007-05-27

This is the PERFECT romantic comedy, for both men and women. It's smart, funny and genuinely heart-warming. The casting in spot-on, and Salma Hayek is just mind-blowing. I always end up watching this movie when it's playing on TV, so I'm just going to go buy it. I don't believe in destiny and the whole made-for-each-other bit, but when I watch this movie, for a couple of hours and the rest of the day, I'm a believer.

I've seen it about 20 times now. It doesn't get old. The faces, the moves and the lines of Matthew Perry are always fresh. My husband likes Selma, a lot, so it's a win win for both of us. They are great together.

Yip was recently nominated for Best New Director at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Soft plastic screen goddess Stephy Tang takes center stage as Bo, a hot girl who uses her ample feminine wiles to score with the guys. She's as adept at dating strategy as she is adorable-looking, meaning she's pretty damn good at getting her way with the boys. Bo was using Ryan to get to another guy, and after ridding herself of Ryan, a bunch of bad luck started to occur. Her cat got poisoned, her mom pushed down the stairs, and her new boyfriend sent to the hospital. Reportedly a vengeful Ryan was the culprit -- a suspicion made more credible since his words at the breakup included, "You must be punished!" Sounds like extreme sour grapes, and who wouldn't get all worked up over losing Bo? After all, she's played by Stephy Tang in a variety of chest-hugging outfits.

This is a delightful romantic comedy. Matthew Perry is a charming, self-effacing leading man. Salma Hayek is a most fetching and winsome leading lady. Strong performances by the supporting cast help make this a most enjoyable movie.

Alex Whitman (Matthew Perry) lives in New York and has a high powered job as a field agent for a builder that specializes in the construction of night clubs. He is sent to Las Vegas to supervise new construction. While there, he meets a fiery, latin beaty, Isabel Fuentes (Salma Hayek), with whom he has a very memorable one night stand. This is totally out of character for both of them. In fact, she is so embarrassed by what happened, that she sneaks out of his house first thing in the morning. Before he even knows it, she is gone, never to be heard from again, until she shows up on his door step three months later to announce that she is pregnant with his baby.

Alex tells her that he supports her right to choose. Isabel chooses to have the baby. She asks nothing from him other than he meet her family, so that it is not such a shock when she announces that she is pregnant. He agrees to do so. He meets her traditional, Mexican-American family and is taken by their warmth, a quality that is sorely lacking in his family. He rarely sees his own family, except for the obligatory holidays, while Isabel meets hers once a week for dinner.

Alex and Isabel fall in love and have a quickie marriage ceremony performed in Las Vegas. Naturally, as they are now husband and wife. they move in together. Then reality sets in. They contend with cultural difference, with pain in the you know what in-laws, and with the every day adjustments necessary, when living with someone one does not, as yet, know. Then, the trust that had developed is violated, and they each go their own separate ways.

What happens with the baby? Does the marriage survive? Watch the movie and find out. The experience will be an enjoyable one

I thought this movie was excellent! From the beginning to the end, this film will have you laughing and crying at the same time. It's a definite "must-see". I give it "2 Thumbs Up!" END
