Very good! Why NOT a movie? Romi really has enhanced the positive aspects of HIGH-TECH with true value, not to mention Harper 'done good' in re-packaging. (NOT all androids have hateful minds as HOLLYWOOD depicts, nor go to extreme opposite) However, I don't think ANY kid would see the intelligence in your concept, so drop the cartoon intro....and yes, my grand-kids are 'that' age.

Absolutely loved season 5. Kevin Sorbo and Steve Bacic are just brilliant in these season.

I HAVE COLLECTED ALL THE ANDROMEDA SEASONS AND THEY GET BETTER AND BETTER. IN THIS SEASON THE WRITERS HAVE GIVEN ALL THE CAST A CHANCE TO SHOW WHAT GREAT ACTORS THEY ARE. KEVIN IS JUST AWESOME AND I LOVE TO WATCH HIM. HE IS CAPTAIN DYLAN HUNT WITHOUT A DOUBT.

For a show with a low budget, Season # 5 has plenty of creativity. The writing is very good, the stories are interesting and well conected to the bible of the show.
The actors are very good and Kevin Sorbo is amazing!
It's been a pleasure watching, indeed.

'Bout freakin' time!!!! Usually new Andromeda releases followed every 8 weeks or so. With this release and the last, it will have been 29 weeks difference. I was beginning to wonder if ADV was ever going to release these five individual volumes or whether they'd just go with a box set for the whole season.

Unfortunately, I've bought this series the expensive way with the individual volumes, so I plan on finishing it that way. Too bad too as the box sets are a lot cheaper than going the individual volume way. But what is a collector to do?

I give this release 3 stars only because it has taken this long to get it release, and let's face it, Andromeda has not been that great of a series since Season 1.

Things never go well when the Andromeda Ascendant takes on passengers. When Dylan agrees to transport the bride of an arranged wedding, "The Honey Offering" tastes bad from the outset. Kimberly Huie gives a memorable acid-tongued performance as the lady in question. The real clue that things were doomed ought to have been Tyr's reservations over the two rival Nietzschean prides genuinely wanting to heal their breach.

"Star-Crossed" is the season 1 episode that caused more gossip than any other. Stargate regular Michael Shanks guest stars, falls in love with Rommie onscreen (and with Lexa Doig offscreen), and then suddenly quits SG-1. There's certainly a spark between them in the show to support the gossip. The secondary cause for talk was its broadcast rescheduling in sympathy with the events of September 11 since it opens with a terrorist attack.

Sci-fi show producers realize that if they have an ongoing franchise on their hands, one of the contemporary issues to inevitably crop up is drug addiction. Here it's Beka who loses control of her addiction to a substance called Flash in "It Makes a Lovely Light." Behind this surface narrative is a continued search for Dylan's long-lost home. The point ultimately becomes that he'd rather safeguard his crew than his memories.

Criticized in some places for its extreme violence, the season finale "Its Hour Come 'Round at Last" will stay with you one way or another. Maybe for the sight of an alternate Rommie turning uncharacteristically nasty on everyone and seriously kicking butt. Or maybe the mind-blowing Magog Worldship, made up of 20 planets and their sun. Or maybe just the seemingly impossible scenario each major character is faced with as the show ends. --Paul Tonks

Volume 1.5 Episodes: "The Honey Offering" - Episode 119 Dylan agrees to transport a beautiful and conceited Nietzschean, Elssbett Mossadim, to her wedding. When the Andromeda is surrounded by warships of an enemy Nietzschean pride, Elssbett reveals her violent plan of assassination and destruction.

"Star-Crossed" - Episode 120 A passenger ship is destroyed by terrorists, leaving a sole survivor - an android named Gabriel. Rommie is immediately attracted when he's brought on board, and she falls in love. But soon, Gabriel's true identity is uncovered: he is not a friend and not a survivor, instead he is... the ultimate enemy.

"It Makes a Lovely Light" - Episode 121 Beka puts the crew and the Andromeda in danger by taking the mind-altering drug "Flash" during an exhausting mission to Tarn Vedra, Dylan's lost home. She's an addict, and Dylan must decide how to handle the situation, which grows more desperate by the minute.

"Its Hour Come 'Round at Last" - Episode 122 During routine repairs, Andromeda's memory is wiped out and replaced by an older, backup AI who believes the current crew are intruders. Dylan and the crew can no longer control their ship - it now controls them. Suddenly, an attack begins, and thousands of bloodthirsty Magog are onboard. Is there any way to escape?

I like every episode on this volume, my favorite is a tie between the Flash Episode and the final episoade of the first season. I thought that in the first season the show hit full stride about half way through and contiued on. Star crossed lovers is pretty good also, seeing the more human side to the Rommie character was well done. All things considered, very nicely done and if you like sci fi then you should like the volume. The picture is great, the extras are fine, the menus are very good and the plot can be follwed. However if you have not seen the show before, I would get the first and last volumes of season one so you understand the situation. For all the other Andromeda regulars, you should be please with what you have here.
