5 out of 5 stars Hey Abbott!.......2007-09-02

Abbott and Costello are the best comedy duo, ever. This collection has some of their funnier movies as well as some of their "quieter" ones. Family fun for everyone. It's pure comedy and has non of that "blue" that's so popular with people today. If you want "funny", this is it! Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Great Movies!!!.......2007-08-23

Great movies that my kids love. I had forgotten how funny Abbot & Costello are. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Classic.......2007-08-11

Two DVD's, 8 films. Picture and film quality is as good as technology can make something this old. The balance between the films is uneven, but I guess every movie can't be a gem. A little pricey for what you get, actually. I remember watching these movies as a kid and being absolutely thrilled with them. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein and Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer will have you laughing in the aisles. The other movies have their moments, but don't expect more than an occasional chuckle.

5 out of 5 stars Great classic comedy!.......2007-06-27

I used to watch these guys every Sunday morning when I was a kid. When I seen they finally came onto DVD and especially 8 episodes per volume, you just can't go wrong for the price. In my opinion, they were the best comedy duo there ever was. Some of their best movies exist within this volume including my favorite, Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein. I ordered via standard shipping and received them within a weeks time, packaged nicely, and in great condition. If you love classic, clean comedy, then this is for you.

5 out of 5 stars A great film way ahead of it's time.......2007-06-13

The Invisible Man is way ahead of it's time. H. G. Wells was way ahead of his time. This film while not a perfect adaptation is still the best version that has been released. A great science fiction film with effects that still hold up.

5 out of 5 stars LAST BUT NOT LEAST................2007-02-22

The Invisible Man Legacy collection is a great buy. These films don't get the credit they deserve. At least the 3 Invisible man entries are well worth your time and money. Hey it's Universal,I love them all!

    5 out of 5 stars Classic.......2007-01-13

If you are a fan of the classic horror film then this is a must. The special effects are suburb for their day and the film quality is very good.
All of the Legacy Collection Sets are worth the cost and i have them all.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent movie, poor "extras".......2006-09-17

For those who enjoy classic monster movies, this series will delight and amaze you. The special effects, particularly in the original movie, were incredible for the time, and easily contribute to the staying power of The Invisible Man. Claude Rains performance, especially, is incredible and easily overshadows any other performance in the sequels.

For those like me, however, who were hoping for the extras to detail the processes that went into making the movies, be prepared for a possible disappointment. They seem to concentrate more on the life of James Whale and the fact that he was a homosexual (and how noble that made him) in Hollywood at the time then they do in speaking about the films and what went into making them. I dont really see what the man's sexual orientation had to do with it; had it been a biography of him, I could understand.

All in all, a good collection!

2 out of 5 stars two movies dont work for some unknown reason.......2006-09-07

All these movies are good classics, but the problem is that Universal Studios' dvd transfer is horrible. two of the movies in this boxset dont even work and freeze when ever you play them. and its not just with this item, but also with some other legacy boxsets (including the one from hammer that are owned by universaL STUDIOS. either universal doesnt know how to transfer old movies onto dvds, or im just seeing things.

3 out of 5 stars Good, not great.......2007-09-15

Ghost in the Machine is my favorite album, but unfortunately Sting decided to use horn section instead of hiring a decent keyboard player for this tour and that was a huge mistake. The horns are annoying most of the time and add nothing to the songs.

However, there are some songs that work: "Bring on the Night", "Demolition Man" and "Shadows in the Rain" are all enjoyable and its the Police after all so even an average show by the Police is not to be missed.

I am still waiting for the day they release the "Shea Stadium" 8/18/83 as it was their most historic concert.

And instead of watching a DVD go see them in concert! They are touring after all... :)

    4 out of 5 stars More PLEASE!.......2007-09-02

With the Police reunion in full swing (albeit unaffordable for me, even on a physician's salary!) those of us who worshipped the Police in the 80's can only hope that Sting and the boys will dig into the boxes for some old live footage and bring us some new DVD's. A redone "Police Around the World" would be nice and some pre-Synchronicity live shows would be awesome. I have a poor quality recording of the Police in Chile from the Ghost in the Machine tour that is just awesome from a concert standpoint, though the quality is awful (I compiled it from YouTube videos and burned it myself). Which brings us to this DVD...the quality is pretty good. I agree with others that the instrument mix was a failed experiment...the horns and Sting's footpedal organ are more distracting than helpful to the music. Sting was obviously tired of what he could accomplish with a 3 piece band, and trying to see what he could come up with. My Chile concert shows that he could make it work...and it certainly worked fine when I saw them in Greensboro during this tour. Speaking of annoying, Sting takes a bite of something like a powdered donut during the show and the lingering powder at the corner of his mouth is funny and annoying. Even rock gods can look silly. Then again, maybe this is why this video is not in wide production...I'm sure Sting was quite pissed that they payed for a video crew for this show and ended up with powdered sugar on his face! Overall, with no other DVD's readily available, I am glad to have this one. While I thought the Synchronicity concert was awesome when I saw it live, looking back at the DVD, the earlier iterations of the Police were much more organic in terms of the music and the band's interactions on stage.

4 out of 5 stars Good DVD for big fans..........2007-08-04

This probably wouldn't be the biggest hit with the more casual fans, but it is a nice show to have for the bigger fans who want as much as they can get from a favorite band. Being one of the people who want to see and hear all that I can, I loved it. However, if you're more of a casual Police fan, go for the Synchronicity concert first, and then try to catch the bootlegs and such.

5 out of 5 stars Only a Transitional Period for The Police!..........2007-07-27

It's been said that The Police is coming in August to play again in Mexico, but the first time was in 1980 when I saw a concert of The Police Live in the city of Mexico, playing the songs of their then latest album "Zenyatta Mondatta". The gig was a real spontaneous magical moment. Everybody were exited as the songs gone bye with the high driving energy of a ¡trio!: Stewart Copeland, a maravellous rhythmic drummer owner of a great technic; Andy Summers, a creative guitarist who's powerful cool chords where the perfect asset for the band's arrangements; and Gordon Summer (who is known better as "Sting") with an enigmatic personality, amaze for his bass lines that gave good melodies to the Rock Genre.

The Ghost in the machine concert is a transitional musical stage for The Police Guys; it's a little strange gig for the way that sting performs in the stage while he's eating a pineapple or playing the taurus pedals out of time in the first track "Message In A Bottle" (the Taurus pedals' idea is good) or the adition of a keyboard next to Andy Summers' side that he almost never played, but overall the music is really fantastic and well played by the band. The horn section is a great asset for the support of the songs, and it's a more natural way to enrich the music of a Rock group. I really prefer to see The Police this way than in the last Atlanta's concert with less Rock and roll feel. I'm not a die hard fan, but at least in this concert their effort is more apreciated in songs like "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic", "Spirits In The Material World" or "Invisible Sun", where we can realize about the difficulty to present and perform overdubbed studio material that It's not the same in a live situation. Great!... By the other side the perform of songs like "Don't Stand So Close To Me", "When The World Is Running Down..." or "The Do Do Do The Da Da Da" are amazing without forget the classic songs of their first and second albums like "Roxanne" or "Walking in the moon". So Good Luck!...

    3 out of 5 stars For Die-Hards Only.......2007-03-28

I was actually at a show from this tour and it seemed a lot better than represented here.

This is cool for a time capsule, and there are some okay performances of some songs, but they're undercut by the bad mix and iffy camera work.

Oh, and then those horns. Thank God THAT idea never took hold after this tour. Eeesh.

The only thing worse than the horns was Sting's foot-synth which he uses on a couple of songs. The effect, in a word: tragic. It sounds more like a car alarm than a good musical idea.

Far, far superior is the Synchronicity concert--buy that.

AND wait for "Police Around the World" to come out on DVD. That is the best document of early Police and has killer performances from all over the world.

In Paul Verhoeven's appropriately shallow Hollow Man, Kevin Bacon plays a bad-boy egotistical scientist who heads up a double-secret government team experimenting with turning life-forms invisible. How do we know he's a bad boy? Because he (a) wears a leather overcoat, (b) compares himself to God, (c) drives a sports car, and (d) spies on his comely next-door neighbor while eating Twinkies. Sadly, this is the most character development anyone gets in this undernourished action/sci-fi thriller, which boasts some amazing special effects and some amazingly ridiculous plot twists. After experimenting rather ruthlessly on a menagerie of lab animals, Bacon finally cracks the code that will turn the invisible gorillas, dogs, and so on, back into their visible forms. Does it work on humans? Faster than you can say "six degrees," Mr. Bacon appoints himself human guinea pig, strapping down for an injection of fluorescent-colored serum. Thanks to some phenomenal, seamless and Oscar-worthy computer effects, Bacon is indeed rendered invisible, organ by organ, vein by vein. And what's the first thing you'd do if you were invisible? Why, spy on your female coworkers in the bathroom and molest your comely next-door neighbor, of course! Soon, Bacon is thoroughly psychotic, and it's up to Elisabeth Shue (Bacon's coworker and ex-girlfriend) and hunky Josh Brolin (her current snuggle bunny) to defeat the invisible man, who's picking off the science team one by one. You'd think this would be a prime opportunity for copious amounts of cheesy sex and aggressive violence--which Verhoeven served up so well and so exuberantly in Starship Troopers and Basic Instinct--but if anything, the director seems to tone down the proceedings, and really, who wants a muted Paul Verhoeven movie? Shue (who got top billing and a bad haircut to boot) and Brolin (who, yes, does take off his shirt at least once) generate little heat, and while Bacon does give an effective, primarily voice-oriented performance, his character is so underdeveloped that, well, you can see right through him. --Mark Englehart

    Customer Reviews:

    2 out of 5 stars watchable.......2007-01-23

The plot is predictable and lackluster. The writing is medicore and the characters are generally unlikeable. Kevin Bacon's performance is good, which is the only reason to watch this film. If you want scary, you won't find it here. If you want a smart movie, you won't find it here. And if you want a good movie, you won't find it here. Kevin Bacon has been in a lot of movies; this is not one of his best.

4 out of 5 stars What you don't see, can hurt you............2006-08-27

"It's amazing what you can do, when you don't have to look at yourself in the mirror any more". Yeah, it's amazing alright and very scary too. This movie was pretty good. The plot is pretty simple, Kevin Bacon plays a scienctist named Sebastin Cane. Who is working on a formula for invisibility. When he does succeed, he decides to take things, to the next level. By trying the formula on himself. Everything seems to be fine at first. But, he can't reverse it. Then things go horrible wrong and Cane goes slowely in the mad. His other co-workers must race to find a way to cure him. Before, it's too late. It's a new twist on a old movie.

    3 out of 5 stars Violent Horror.......2006-08-24

Hollow Man is a very violent horror film. The story is about a genius researcher named Sebastian (Kevin Bacon) who is working on a top-secret project on invisibility for the Pentagon. A young, exceedingly large-egoed individual, Sebastian has his research team cowed and under his thumb. The team lets him bend - or break - the rules because they genuinely admire his genius and believe in his ability. This blind faith proves to be their undoing. Sebastian tests the invisibility serum on himself. He disappears, all right, but the problem lies in making himself visible again. Although the procedure worked on primates, it won't work on him.

The increased time of being invisible also plays on his mind and makes him paranoid and aggressive. Hollow Man has tons of gratuitous female nudity and sexual assaults, not to mention very disturbing animal abuse. A screaming rat is tortured and mangled, a gentle lab dog is smashed against a cage, a female gorilla is subjected to immense pain during an experiment.

Yes, the special effects are amazing - but although Hollow Man has an interesting premise and main character, the violence is shocking and horrific, and reveals an underlying core of something like masochism against women.

2 out of 5 stars Good special effects, but disturbing!.......2006-08-20

I have to admit, the concept of not just an invisible man, but the observation of a man GOING invisible is original and creative. For this I score the two stars for this movie. Seeing skin evaporate to human organs to nothing is quite a sight which is done expertly by the special effects masters behind this movie.
However, I tend to agree with most viewers is that while Kevin Bacon (who even though is invisible for much of this movie, still brings across one of his best performances-he brings that wispy, whispering voice to top notch evil heights) does great and Elizabeth Shue, Josh Brolin, and the other actors give their all, Bacon's character is so one sided. Never before have I watched a movie where I was genuinely angry in wanting to see the bad guy get his in the end. When Elizabeth Shue finally gets him in the end and is telling him where to go, I was saying it right along with her!
And assaulting women, killing dogs, spiraling out of control into the final movie chapter which was reminiscent of gory splatter slasher flicks of the 80's, I'm deciding right now whether I can actually watch this movie again or whether I want to take it to the Good Will!
Apologies for the harsh review to the director of this movie-great idea, but disturbing and dark which almost surpasses the positive of the movie-great special effects.

3 out of 5 stars A journey without return .......2006-05-01

This fascinating fiction entertainment deals about a curious experiment the overall search of the biogenetic sequence. Since a smart scientist has made certain experiments without concrete advances, the top authorities who command such project treat him with retire the financial budget in case not obtain more solid results.

The main twist concerns when he decides by himself, to make the journey. But the rest runs for you. A delirious exploration of the human nature faced with nature forces. A breathtaking movie that made us remind that famous film of Ken Russell : "Altered states". Bloody story with the accustomed violence and overwhelming special effects.

Perhaps the anecdote literally could not avoid a major and devastating reflection around the unthinkable facts that eventually might derivate from certain arrogant attitudes without taking into account the final goal.

But the film is above the average.

Claude Rains practically owns his film debut in The Invisible Man, despite the fact that his face (let alone his body) is seen only for seconds in the final moments. As the brilliant scientist who discovers the secret of invisibility, Rains steps into the film wrapped up like a mummy behind a layer of bandages and blanketed in heavy clothes. When he removes his garments, there's nothing underneath, a simple but effective bit of 1930s movie magic that, apart from a few glitches, works as well today as it did in 1933. Like Frankenstein, another cautionary tale of science gone horribly wrong, the consequences of the doctor's experiments are dire: the chemicals drive him insane. Director James Whale infuses the film with plenty of humor, much of it arising from the quaint quirks of the local villagers, but it turns to black comedy as the doctor transforms from an impish prankster upsetting bicycles and taunting tavern patrons to a megalomaniac bent on world domination. It's slow going even at 71 minutes, but full of delightful touches and boasts a terrific performance by the all but unseen Rains, whose rich, cultured voice envelopes the picture in a kind of omnipresent fog. Vincent Price took up the role in the sequel, The Invisible Man Returns. --Sean Axmaker

5 out of 5 stars A CLASSIC UNIVERSAL PICTURE! RAINS & CO. SHINE!.......2007-08-14

The Invisible man is one of those old movies that gets lost in the crowd. This picture is one of Universal's best. The Legacy collection includes this film with the 2 sequels, plus two unrelated films about invisibilty. That is the way to go as all 5 films are very good! I just wanted to review this film,so I looked for the individual release. Rains and Co. are great in this science fiction tale. Like most Universal horror films this film has tons of atmosphere and some really creepy images. One in paticular is a close up of Rains wearing bandages and goggles that is just fantastic! The sequels are very good and this set should be in every horror film buffs collection. The transfer on the both are really good!

    3 out of 5 stars Don't Meddle with Nature!.......2007-06-26

On a snowy night a man visits "The Lion's Head" in Iping. He wants private room with a fire. [Jenny's hair style dates to the 1890s.] This visitor wants to be left alone. There is the usual gossip about any stranger. Next we see the place where Jack Griffen worked, a place that developed methods for food preservation. But Jack often worked alone in secret. There is a dispute when the visitor is behind in his rent. A policeman is called because of the assault. The wife of the tavern owner plays her part over the top for comic effect. They must arrest the stranger before he takes off his clothes. Being invisible gives great power; will it be handled responsibly?

The scientists talk about Jack's experiments. He used a little known drug that bleached color and also affected the material. Jack visits Kemp for help; he is tired, cold, and hungry. [The food eaten can be seen until it is digested.] Jack's commands shows his state of mind. Griffen tells of his obsessive search for the secret of invisibility. The drugs he took inflamed his brain; Griffen has great plans for personal power. But Griffen must return to retrieve his valuable notebooks. The police Inspector decided the story about an invisible man was a hoax; then an ink pot was thrown in his face!

Kemp is now a captive in his own home. The police send a thousand men to search for the invisible man; he will still leave tracks. They will search everywhere, no warrants will be needed. Will Kemp call the police to report Jack's presence? Had the invisibility drug driven Jack mad? His speech suggests this. The police arrive, Jack escapes but promises to kill Kemp that night. The police have a plan to capture this invisible man; it can't fail, can it? But Nature works against Jack Griffen when the police find his hiding place. Jack can be heard if not seen. Will a few pistol shots stop the invisible man? [Can doctors treat an invisible man?]

The moral is to not meddle in things that should be left alone. Yet Jack worked in preserving foods via chemicals. Is this an argument against chemical foods, or "genetic modification"? Or against experimenting with drugs? This film is a condensed and simplified version of the novel. The story has smoothed out the details of Jack's past life. I think the story in the book was better.

4 out of 5 stars They Don't Make Movies Like This Anymore.......2007-04-02

Every so often, I ask myself why movies from an earlier era are so excellent while their modern-day counterparts are garbage. Then I watch films like "The Invisible Man" and it becomes obvious. Simply put, the earlier filmmakers were masterful storytellers who cared as much about as the story they were about playing around with special effects. Ironic but true, but even though the special effects of TIM aren't as sophisticated as the stuff we're used to today, the film is more engaging than any big-budgeted CGI-fest that have come out in recent years. I think it's because the story is so well told and acted, you're not half as interested in seeing the kooky special effects as you are in wondering what will happen next or how the characters will react to a specific event.

With that being said, if you're a fan of H.G. Wells and are curious about this film, you will find that it's a very good adaptation. True to the novel, Claude Rains plays Griffin, a very mean-spirited and arrogant chemist who renders himself invisible and takes refuge in a boarding house. Gradually, the country bumpkins find out what he's up to, and when they do this sets off a chain of events in which he eventually terrorizes the English countryside in his quest to take over the world. Some of the events and characters from the book were changed for the film; ironically, though, in doing that the movie feels even more faithful to the novel, because the changes keep to the spirit of HG Wells' creation. (Besides, some of the changes make sense, given the time constraints at the time.)

If the film suffers from anything, it's from a bit of overacting on the part of some of the character actors (Mrs. Hall's screeching will drive you crazy, and so will Griffin's maniacal laughter at times). However, the great mixture of horror, suspense, and humor-- as well as the brisk pacing and good dialogue-- makes this a great and fun viewing. If you're hesitant about viewing this film because you're afraid of the special effects looking dated or corny, don't be; they are just as surprising as the CGI of today, especially given the fact that they were done in the early 30s.

All in all, a thumbs up from me.

5 out of 5 stars 1933 Black and White Classic Movie based on H.G. Wells Novel has Stood the Test of Time!.......2007-03-18

This is the first movie made based on H.G. Wells' 1897 novel of the same name. This movie although having the same main character and set in one of the towns from the book is pretty much only about 20% following the storyline of Wells' novel. This movie has characters and scenes which aren't in the novel such as Griffin (the invisible man) having a fiancé (played by Gloria Stewart an actress who grew old to be that annoying elderly lady in Titanic) who also has a father, another scientist who isn't in the novel either. Griffin didn't burn down his apartment in this movie in fact the most interesting scenes from the Wells' book where Griffin recounts his adventures in the department store and the city of London when he first became invisible to Dr Kemp are not in this movie at all.

James Whale has also added a fair bit of humour to Wells' novel and a fair amount of new very entertaining scenes such as train crashes, Kemp's car cliff diving, and toying with and taunting the townsfolk which all make the 68 minute movie extremely enjoyable. The biggest difference is that Griffin's madness is more blamed on a drug called monocaine in this movie whereas in the Wells' book although Griffin was never the nicest guy, his desire for murder and mayhem was created by his disgusting treatment by the bigoted town folk as well as the betrayal and stealing of his possessions including his notes (the one's he dropped to Kemp out of the window in the film) which he needed to make himself a cure by those he enlisted to help him.

There is sensational debut acting by Claude Rains as Griffin, but also some bad overacting in the film especially Una O'Connor as the landlady (who reminds me of Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies rather than the landlady from Wells' book) and some pathetic attempts at English accents by bar patrons and towns folk, but other than that the movie has more than stood the test time. Special effects brilliantly pull of the illusion of invisibility and although you can tell Whale used model trains and the like this movie is done so much better than other horror/special effects movies made in the decades following which you watch today just to laugh at their cheesiness. This 1933 classic is a masterpiece, you have to see it!

The DVD has a nice documentary of the film, its actors and the director James Whale as well as the many sequel and spin off movies inspired by this film (in fact you can buy all these movies along with this movie in a DVD set which may be better value than just buying this movie alone depending on prices). The documentary on this one goes for about as long as the movie. You can also watch the movie with commentary or with English, Arabic, Hungarian, Turkish, Greek, Czech or Romanian subtitles.

5 out of 5 stars The sinister perspective!.......2006-12-20

Under the light of more than seventy three years elapsed, we should assume another perspective at the moment to consider its relevant significance. James Whale was the acclaimed director of Frankenstein and Claude Rains (Notorious and Casablanca) make the best they can in which to put asunder the phantasmagoric and the incisive metaphor beneath the script.

A true milestone of the cinema. For many modernists it may be dated, but nobody will be able to deny that in 1933 this must be a horror film in the broad sense of the term.

    Customer Reviews:

    4 out of 5 stars Strangely touching.......2007-03-23

This movie is indeed underrated, and perhaps largely unknown due more to its relatively low budget than to its concept or execution. Chevy Chase is strangely touching portraying in dramatic tones a character caught in what would at first seem a purely comedic situation. Nick Holloway's predicament is well-realized and well thought-out, and many of the special effects - though not elaborate - are both humorous and intriguing. Darrell Hannah is her usual sensuous and beautiful self. Well worth a watch.

3 out of 5 stars Loads better than Hollow Man.......2004-11-05

I can't say that I'm that keen on Chevy Chase, sorry, I just do not find him funny! After putting this off for a while, I got told to watch it, or my budgie would die :( I mean, what's a girl to do? Lose her budgie, or sit through an hour & a half of Chevy Chase?

I thought I was going to be constantly reminded of Hollow Man watching this, as it's one that I hated, just about as much as I dislike Chevy Chase. Hollow Man totally freaked me out, from Kevin Bacon sucking on the girl's nipple, to the ending. Never again. If I have to watch that movie again, it'll be too soon!

The special effects were better & more subtle than Hollow Man, from the building disappearing, to Chevy smoking, and seeing the smoke in his lungs, and seeing his outline as he blew it out, or the makeup on his face! Also, when he eats, sees it, and then gets it straight back out again, and the rain scene has an almost magical feel to it.

The whole movie deals with loneliness, alienation, and insanity, although I sometimes felt Chevy was wrong for the role, as was Sam Neill - I did NOT like his character at all. But I guess that was the whole point. Everyone will say this movie is a comedy due to Chevy being the main character, but it was quite a serious role for him, a big step away from his usual roles. Daryl Hannah was terrific, considering most of her intimate scenes are played to special effects. The last scenes over the end credits are especially touching, and bring a little tear to the eye!

Now I've finally seen this, I'm hoping that's the last I'll hear about it! It was a better movie than I was expecting, and the special effects were amazing. There's not much in the way of extras, no trailer (!), and a series of outtakes.

3 out of 5 stars Decent all the way.......2004-06-24

This comedy directed by horror maestro John Carpenter is actually pretty decent. The special effects still look amazing.
The plot is thin, but who cares? It's well acted (it would be better if you're a fan of Chevy Chase) and hilarious in some places. Slows a bit down in the second half but picks up for a good finale.

    5 out of 5 stars Underrated movie!.......2003-11-14

I really enjoyed this movie when it came out and was quite surprised by all the bad reviews. I had read the book several years before I saw the movie and thought they did a great job of transfering it to film.

The funny thing is that most reviews criticize the film makers for their wierd story choices, but the film was just following the book.

Others criticize that the movie doesn't know whether to be a comedy, action thiller or an adventure story? The book was the same way and I thought the book and film did a great job of juggling these different styles.

    4 out of 5 stars A Highly Underated Movie!.......2003-09-13

This film I consider is the ultimate "Invisible Man" film. Carpenter had alot of grace and love for this film obviously and Chase's portrail of a stock broker turned invisible fugitive was just right. Chase tends to get alot of heckeling for this movie and his performance but this reviewer finds that same performance to be one of great effort (note his quiet aproch to dramatic situations and his fine comic timing to humorious ones). This film I thought had alot more to do with character and emotions than most filmakers would try on an "Invisible Man" project. One thing's for sure....this movie sure beats the heck outta "Hollow Man" (a movie that made the "Invisible Man" into a phsyco plus the whole movie just had a 2nd rate slasher vibe).

You're looking at buying this for one of two reasons, don't bother. It's not funny, not even stupid funny, and there is nothing erotic about this movie unless you like 30-40 year old people with sagging skin pretending to get it on. If you want funny/erotic movies check out Misty Mundae, at least theres some decent content there.

    4 out of 5 stars I WISH I WAS THIS GUY!!!.......2006-04-20

Think about it,running around totally unseen doing mischief, of course i would use my invisibility to do good things-(chuckling in the background)-ok fine, don't believe me! Anyway, i love the fact this movie has the lovely Gabriella Hall and Jacqueline Lovell.I just wish they would import more of the original Butterscotch movies to the U.S. and put the story closer the Milo Manara books. This movie also features pornstars Holly Hollywood and Rebecca Lord, in one clip the invisible man lifts up Holly's skirt to reveal she is wearing no underwear and displaying a backside that would make J-Lo jealous! the two women engage in a lesbian scene which our invisible fellow decides to join in on.I think they should have more scenes where he was lifting up skirts and pulling off clothes, I only saw 2 in the movie and let's be honest, that's the kind of stuff you like to see in an invisible man movie.

This is a soft-core movie. There are some amazing beautiful women in this movie. The story looks okay for me, but the actors look not professional and act not naturally. The director could make it more professional and entertaining.

    1 out of 5 stars Ugh.......2005-08-11

This movie didn't come close to the standards set by Porky's or numerous other 70s and 80s -vintage skin flicks that became popular. The women were okay looking, but there was not a hint of the situational circumstances that cause nudity to be arousing, as occured in Revenge of the Nerds, Porky's, or Harold and Kumar go to White Castle; any teenager could come up with a better story. If you are in it only for the nudity, you could do as well or better just about anywhere.
