Product Description

Grace has a picture-perfect life. And it goes dizzyingly out of focus the day she discovers her husband Eddie has been unfaithful. Julia Roberts headlines this acclaimed movie that aims for the heart and funnybone - and scores a bull's eye. In her best screen role yet, Roberts is Grace, whose reaction to the infidelities of Eddie (Dennis Quaid) turns the lives and loves of the people around her into something like falling dominoes.

Robert Duvall, Gena Rowlands, Kyra Sedgwick and others in "the years best ensemble of characters" (Jack Matthews, Newsday) join Roberts for this juicy, truthful story written by Callie Khouri (Thelma and Louise) and directed by Lasse Hallstrom (What's Eating Gilbert Grape?). Folks are talking about Grace. You owe it to yourself to see why.

Format: DVD MOVIE

Amazon.com essential video

This well-intentioned but strangely cold tale concerns an emotionally repressed Southern belle (Julia Roberts) who separates from her husband (Dennis Quaid) after discovering he is an unabashed philanderer. Pressed by her dominating father (Robert Duvall) into reconciling with her spouse, Roberts's character chafes against so much male control over her destiny. Defended by a fiercely independent sister (a catchy performance by Kyra Sedgwick), the heroine develops the nerve to plot her own course in life while her mother (Gena Rowlands) finds the gumption to throw her own mate out of the house. The script by Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise) is intelligent but hardly clear, and direction by Lasse Hallström (Once Around) can't keep Khouri's unfocused scenes and uncertain purpose from dissolving like sand castles in the rain. --Tom Keogh

2 out of 5 stars Yawn........2007-08-11

Found this to be a very disappointing "chick flick". Your wife or date might
love it, but you'll fall asleep.

4 out of 5 stars A movie I can watch again and again!.......2007-08-05

I agree that this wasn't a movie with a huge message or anything like that, but so what? Can't someone like a movie because they can relax and enjoy the story? If you like movies like that sometimes, try this one. It has a good mix of comedey and drama. I felt terrible for her when she saw her husband on the corner, and I laughed when her mom locked her dad out of the house. It's a good movie to watch when you just want to curl up, relax, and get lost for a couple of hours!

5 out of 5 stars Something to Talk About.......2007-06-30

This movie is one of the best movies ever made. It covers the dynamics of relationships in a way that allows the viewer to recognize them in thier own lives or of people that they know. Julie Roberts, Dennis Quaid, Kyra Sedgwick, Robert Duvall and Gena Rowlands are all at their best. THis is a movie that I enjoy every time I watch it and that is often.

4 out of 5 stars I enjoy observing social mores i.e. deep lying by Southerners.......2007-06-04

I can't remember the other movie about Southerners I enjoy watching though not for its intended purposes - probably Steel Magnolias. I know everyone enjoys using that accent but I think the South is a treacherous place (excuse me, Delta Burke, Steven Colbert, Amy Sedaris and Florence King.)

I like watching how the South propagandizes itself in everyday life and I can see how it does make life smoother sometimes but that kind of lifestyle doesn't make for a safe place instead it makes me worried more that the gimmicks especially the drawl and the social pressure is so obvious and easily used for manipulating the wrong person into office. I kind of ignored the point of this movie but I like to rewatch it when it is on tv. I'm not susceptible to either Julia Roberts or Dennis Quaid but there's a lot of spendiness in this movie and Kyra Sedgewick may be why Julia Roberts does not do many movies with other women.

My one like without reservation in this movie is Robert Duvall character's advice to the little girl to save your treats for the horse you're going to ride. Too bad he didn't follow his own advice.

4 out of 5 stars a look at relationships.......2007-05-09

I liked this movie alot prehaps because I liked the actors but also because it deals with some real issues in not only marriages but also families. Julia Roberts does a great job as a wife who has been cheated on and as she struggles to deal with the fall-out from this she also has to work on family relationships. The movie does have some colorful language and deals with some serious subject matter so it does deserve the R rating that it has.

Most contemporary horror movies depend upon a series of sudden jolts, executed with the finesse of a cattle-prod, to keep their audiences awake. The Ring Two offers something far more interesting: A slow but relentless creepiness that might just linger in your mind when the movie is over. A few months after the events of the first Ring, journalist Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts, Mulholland Drive) and her son Aidan (David Dorfman, A Wrinkle in Time) have fled to a small town on the Oregon coast to get over their awful experience with a cursed videotape. Of course, a copy of the videotape finds its way there, and soon the troubled spirit of a girl with long, face-obscuring black hair is worming her way into Rachel and Aidan's lives by worming her way into Aidan's flesh. As a story with a coherent beginning, middle, and end, The Ring Two is full of holes; but as a series of surreal and evocative images accumulating into a dislocating sense of dread, The Ring Two holds up. In fact, at one point the movie becomes so dreamlike in its flow that it verges on avant-garde. The source of this alluring eeriness is the director, Hideo Nakata, who directed the Japanese Ringu, on which The Ring was based. Also featuring Gary Cole (Office Space) and Sissy Spacek (Carrie). --Bret Fetzer

2 out of 5 stars A sequel that wasn't meant to be.......2007-09-16

First off, you have to see the first ring to really understand whats going on. I'll keep this short. The ring 2 continues with the girl Samara and trys to dive into her origin. It kind of does add a little bit to the overall story. But this sequel just can't bring back the magic of the first one. Yes it does get creepy at times, but this is mostly scary for people who scare easily. I didn't care for the plot to much, it just came off as whatever to me. Bottomline, if you loved the first one then check this out. Its worth a rental but not a purchase.

1 out of 5 stars Wish I'd seen that damn tape and died a week later so I couldn't have seen the sequel.......2007-08-04

Have you seen Scary Movie 3? Remember that cheesy part with the scary Ring-like girl and the whole let's be a family thing? Well, it took Scary Movie 3 two minutes to make up that cheezy stuff, but the people from the Ring turned that into a sequel. So basically Scary Movie 3, which parodied The Ring, inspired this sequel. How truly sad. I wish I could get that hour and some odd minutes back, so I could watch a better scary movie. The only good part of The Ring 2 was when they drive along a forest and the animals go nuts. The Ring was great, but The Ring 2 is an unnecessary sequel that should have gone straight to dvd.

3 out of 5 stars Creepy? Yes. Good? No........2007-07-26

I'll admit it, I turned on every light in the house when I got home after seeing this at 9 PM on opening night. However, I will drink copious amounts of water after eating any hot and spicy meal. That doesn't mean the meal is good.

This movie could have worked on a couple different levels, but ultimately fell flat on its face. There is a great deal of groundwork laid in both movies that Rachel is a bad mother. So why not use that as the basis for the sequel? We already pick up with her fleeing from her past, and the guilt for causing the Tape to spread. She already has a perfunctory relationship with her son, and everything in their interactions screams out that she wasn't ready to have Aiden.

So where do you go from there? How about a movie that involves Rachel fleeing from her own personal demons, and being hounded by the image of Samara, but never realizing that it isn't Samara she is running from, but herself. She has inadvertently become the monster she sought out, and is now fleeing.

So would there be a nice tied-up-with-a-ribbon ending like the one we get with this film? Depends. Do we want something that will haunt the audience like the original did? I think so. I think a dark ending would be perfect, and we should lose Rachel as a character. But in doing so, maybe she can at least be a good enough parent to sacrifice herself for her son, who would then be turned over to CPS, and either be adopted, or be bounced around the Social Services circuit.

Might make a good sequel to see an eighteen-year-old Aiden dealing with his own demons.

2 out of 5 stars THINGS THAT ARE FRESH GO STALE QUICKLY!.......2007-07-05

I thought the "The Ring" was pretty good and a fresh idea for the horror genre. The "The Ring 2" however, is just OK. We've seen it all before now and it just doesn't do it for me the second time around. It isn't a really bad movie is just isn't really good either. The DVD still looks great, so if your a fan............

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first one........2007-06-13

If you've seen the first Ring and liked it, you'll be disappointed when you watch the sequel. It seems sort of thrown together and it lacks the mystery the first movie had.

Let's start off with what I liked about this movie. First of all, Naomi Watts is in this. She is one of my favorite actresses and she does a great job in this film. Second there are a few laugh out loud moments (when Rachel tries to tell Samara that she's not her mommy).

So what's not to like about this movie? As I said above, it seems like it was thrown together. Like the creators knew that Ring fans wanted another movie but they didn't know how to make a good one so they took bits and pieces out of the first movie and tried (and failed) to come up with something that would appeal to Ring fans. Second, the mystery is gone. Yes, you have your typical scenes that make you go "What does that mean?" but they don't really tie in together. Or if they do tie in together, compared to the first movie, they don't do enough to make you WANT to figure out what's going on. In the first movie, we were trying to figure out what happened to Samara. In this movie, we're trying to figure out... wait, what is it we're trying to figure out? Nothing. Rachel has to try to get rid of Samara but where's the shock and mystery? It's gone.

My rating: 3/5 stars. It's a disappointment compared to the first movie. However, it's an ok horror flick when you don't compare it other movies. Be sure to watch the first Ring before you see this one as some parts may not make sense to those who haven't seen the first one.

When you start watching Racing Stripes, you may not be prepared for how unbelievably cute a young zebra is. A travelling circus accidently abandons an adorably helpless zebra in the middle of Kentucky on a stormy night. Fortunately, the wee zebra is found by Nolan Walsh (Bruce Greenwood, The Sweet Hereafter), a brilliant horse trainer who's given up his calling after a riding accident that killed his wife. His daughter Channing (Hayden Panettiere, Raising Helen) names the zebra Stripes and, before you know it, Stripes has grown to young adulthood and is aching to race at a nearby track. Thus begins a fairly formulaic triumph-over-adversity tale combined with talking animals--but Racing Stripes understands its formula and executes it without any pretensions. It doesn't hit the bullseye struck by Babe (an earlier triumph-over-adversity tale combined with talking animals), and there are bad puns and gags aplenty, but Greenwood's solid presence gives the movie an unexpected emotional fullness. Featuring a bizarre assortment of voices for the animals, including Whoopi Goldberg, Dustin Hoffman, Frankie Muniz, Mandy Moore, Joe Pantoliano (as a Mafioso pelican), Steve Harvey, David Spade, and Snoop Dogg. --Bret Fetzer

5 out of 5 stars Lovely movie.......2007-09-16

My daughter absolutely loved it. She is six and like me has a passion for horses and horseback riding. One could say that it is full of cliches -the mean rich horse track owner, the somber father, the arrogant race horses, happy ending, etc... but this is a movie for kids, it is cute and I truly enjoyed hearing my daughter laugh and enjoy every moment of it.

4 out of 5 stars You'll want to see this film before showing it to very young........2007-09-02

It was recommended to me by family members. I think it is a very good film but I think it is best for children over 5 or 6 who might understand implicitly the death of a parent.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful movie for young children.......2007-07-05

My 4 year old and 18 month old adore this movie. I like it because I get the adult humor (not inappropriate for the kids). This movie has animals that are adorable, humans that are realistic and a tender story where hard work and determination win in the end. It is a movie that you can feel comfortable letting your children watch alone or one that you will enjoy watching with them. We have watched this movie every day for a month and I can still sit through it! Not since Babe, have I found a movie that my children want to watch over and over again.

5 out of 5 stars Racing Stripes .......2007-06-13

Racing Stripes
Stripes is a zebra that wants to compete in the Kentucky outlaw horse race. With his young jockey, Channing Walsh they compete to run in the horse race. Stripes gets made fun of because of his short legs and Mohawk. Will this young girl and her zebra surprise all the other contestants? Or will her father tell her she can't race because if the recent death of her mother for jumping horses?
This is one of my favorite movies. Frankie Muniz as the voice of Stripes just makes the movie so funny and Hayden Panettiere as Channing Walsh is such an amazing actress. Hayden has played in Bring It On All or Nothing and Ice Princess. I think her best movie would be Ice Princess. She was a great actress in Racing Stripes but it wasn't her best. Be ready to ride this movie, it's very exciting and entertaining.
This movie is great for all ages and its funny. Kids will love all the talking animals like Reggie the roster, Franny the goat, Tucker the old yet wise miniature horse, Stripes the zebra that thinks he's a horse, Sandy the white filly and Buzz and Scuzz the brother flies. You have got to see this wonderful movie of 2004.
This movies rating id PG, its 1 hr 42mins long and was produced by David Eggby.

Disturbing images and a few good shocks don't stop The Ring from being a hash of half-baked ideas. It's the kind of frightfest you'll watch to set a chilling mood or spook your susceptible friends, but when you try to sort it out, this well-mounted American remake (of the 1998 Japanese hit Ringu, based on Koji Suzuki's popular novel) collapses into a heap of incoherent parts. The negligible plot follows a Seattle reporter (Naomi Watts) as she investigates the death of her niece, the victim of a mysterious videotape that, according to vague urban legend, causes the viewer's death seven days later. (Fear Dot Com borrowed the same idea while avoiding this film's lofty pretensions.) The reporter, her son, and her estranged boyfriend view the tape, and the film's countdown structure follows them into deepening layers of terror--all quite effective until the movie attempts to explain itself. At that you're better off shutting down your brain and letting the creepy visuals take over. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars a classic, but..........2007-08-21

i saw this in theatres when it first came out and it scared me so bad! i loved the style, the look of it, all green and mildewy and dark... it reinforces ideas that i have about horror - - that horror can and SHOULD be beautiful, it should be quiet, dark, haunting. the first part of the film is so artistic, so gorgeous, full of symbols and themes; drowning, death, motherhood, insanity, all so beautifully done. the pace works, slow and dreamy, the actors are competent (naomi watts can be a little hammy, but not enough to condemn her whole perfomance outright).
the movie's undoing is unfortunately the LAST TEN MINUTES, when it seems as though another director takes over, all art and pacing and everything is sacrificed for tying it all up very neatly. and i'm sorry but it was lost on all fronts when the little girl climbed out of the tv... the movie was inside my head, it had all it's hooks in, and then it turned out a cheap trick like that? ew.
i love a movie that creeps in with an outrageous story, but presents it in such a way that you start to believe it... but that girl coming out of the tv! nyeeerggh...
if you are a fan of pure psychological horror/thrillers, you will go crazy over the first part, and the last bit will disappoint. if you love to be shocked by a fast paced disturbing horror movie, this film has a few jarring cuts, but not enough to please and the slow pace will likely drive you crazy instead.
personally i wish i could have seen what it would have looked like had hollywood (or japan, i guess) not stepped in with cheap gimmicks and special effects, if it had kept with the exquisite slowly-building-dread feeling and not been so efficiently explained. i think it might have been truly epic.

4 out of 5 stars Really good horror flick!.......2007-06-10

Whether you like horror films or not, you'll LOVE this movie. This is more of a puzzle, whodoneit-type movie than a typical horror movie.

So what's this movie about? Rachel Keller investigates the death of her niece when she learns that her death may have been caused by a tape. Yes, a tape. Apparently, when you watch this particular tape, you receive a phone call that lets you know that you will die in 7 days. Scary, huh? Though it may not sound all that scary, each scene will send chills down your spine when Rachel begins to put together this puzzle that will explain why this tape exists and how she can stop it from killing more people (including her son).

What's to like about this movie? As I said above, this movie will pull you in with every scene. It will have you guessing and reguessing. What makes a good scary movie is not just the killing or the surprising scenes or creepy guys. Scary movies also need to have a bit of mystery in order for it be any good. And THIS is a good movie. Not to mention that Naomi Watts is in it and her acting in this movie is great.

What's not to like? Not much. The swearing and drug talk can be a negative to some people but that's the only thing that I can find remotely bad about this movie.

Watch this movie! You'll really like it!

4 out of 5 stars Nice Attempt.......2007-04-11

This is an American version of a Japanese film based upon a comic. Unlike The Grudge, which was directed by the same director as the Japanese version, this is a very different story from the Japanese (although there is a quick reference to the Japanese version).

There is a rumor of a videotape that can kill people. If you watch it you will get a phone call and be told you will die in seven days. When a reporter's niece dies the reporter starts to look into the story. First she finds out her niece had a secret boyfriend. Then she finds out the boyfriend died at the same moment as the niece. There is definitely something strange going on. As the reporter digs through the story she discovers others died at the same time. Then she learns about, and finds, the videotape. She watches it before believing it.

But soon the reporter does believe, but not before showing it to her ex. She starts to become frantic with trying to find a way to break the curse and that means learning more about it. But when her son watches the videotape she really begins to panic. Now she not only has to solve the mystery for herself, but for her son. Her son seems to have some connection to the video and its images and it somehow revolves around a young girl. It becomes a race against time and the reporter finds a way she thinks will stop the curse. Will she succeed? Will she save the ones she loves? Watch and find out.

The videotape in Ringu makes more sense to me than the one here but the story has been rewritten in such a way as to make it work. Here we have a film that kept the core of the original (the videotape, the ring, and the force behind the curse) and recrafted it into more than just an adaptation. I found this film to be far better than I had thought it would be. A pretty good and creepy film. Check it out.

4 out of 5 stars VERY SCARY AND FRESH!.......2007-03-26

Its nice to see a different horror film these days. I thought this movie was pretty spooky and held my interest from beginning to end. The DVD transfer is excellent. This is a fresh idea for the horror genre.

BUT THIS GEM OF A MOVIE ACTUALLY FREAKED ME OUT. I HAD NOT BEEN SO FREAKED SINCE I DONT KNOW.....CANDYMAN? AND THAT MOVIE HAD GIVEN ME MY FIRST NIGHTMARE IN YRS. I HAD NOT HAD ONE SINCE THE ORIGINAL NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST WAS RELEASED. AND THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING. BUT ANYWAYS THIS MOVIE IS DEFINITELY A MIND F***. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO IS HIGHLY SENSITIVE OR EASILY FRIGHTENED TO WATCH THIS MOVIE ALONE IN THE DARK....AND THE ENDING....I HAVE NEVER HEARD SO MUCH SCREAMING AND SO MANY OBSENTITIES FILL A THEATRE LIKE IT DID AT THIS MOVIES SHOWING,(AND I WAS DEFINITLEY ONE OF THE PEOPLE CURSING AT THE SHEER GENIOUS OF THE CREATOR0)...CUDOS! I MEAN REALLY TO THINK SOMETHING HAS ENDED LIKE ANY OTHER MOVIE, HURRAY THE HEROIN SAVES THE DAYM, THE SPIRIT HAS BEEN SET FREE, LAID TO REST, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH. AND THEN TO HAVE UR WHOLE WORLD JUST RIPPED RIGHT FROM UNDER YOU IS LIKE THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD....CUZ UR EXPECTING THE SAME OLD ENDING AND TO HAVE IT TOTALLY FLIPPED ON YOU IS JUST REFRESHING AND GAVE ME A BIT OF HOPE FOR FUTURE FILMS...
I WAS A BIT SKEPTICAL ABT THE SEQUEL. ALTHOUGH I WAS HOPING FOR MORE CLARITY ON THE CHARACTER OF SAMARA, I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED BUT NOT SURPRISED. THERE ARE FEW FILMS THAT CAN SAY THE SEQUEL LIVED UP TO THE ORIGINAL....HOPE MY REVIEW HELPS SOME OF YOU DECIDE TO IF NOT BUY THIS MOVIE DEFINITELY RENT....

5 out of 5 stars BETTY GRABLE;s first starring film...and it is delightful..........2007-06-26

A very bright, colorful, entertaining film...with many wonderful
specialties: Carmen Miranda )Her first film)...The Nicholas Brothers...
unforgetable dance sequence...and Charlot Greenwood...all make this
a sparkling entertainment. AND...it still sparkles after 67 years.
O.K...you don't need to win at JEOPARDY to enjoy this...but it is what
it is...a circa 1940 TECHNICOLOR Fox musical...Betty is beautiful and
elegantly dressed...the music is pleasant...the color is bright...if
that isn't enough...well...you can buy CASABLANCA.

4 out of 5 stars May I introduce Carmen Miranda.............2007-06-01

DOWN ARGENTINE WAY has a simplistic and forgettable plot (Betty Grable is a wealthy young heiress with a penchant for raising and purchasing horses, and ends up in Latin America, falling for suave Don Ameche, yadda, yadda, yadda.). What makes this stand out is the musical numbers, and, of course, the entrance of Carmen Miranda with some of her most popular music (including "South American Way"). Though, this was Carmen Miranda's introduction and debut on the silver screen, in the United States, it wasn't her first film. Miranda made several films in her adoptive country of Brazil (she was born in Portugal). Though, she is charming here, I find it poignant to watch. Carmen Miranda's life was not joyful, though, it was hard to believe for many because she put a brave face on in the public eye and exuded a (rather forced) atmosphere of joy whenever she made an entrance in a film. Still worth a look! It's bubbly fun and Miranda does make you forget "in the South American way."

3 out of 5 stars Everything about this little demon was larger than life..........2006-12-27

Carmen Miranda, known as "The Brazilian Bombshell", was the original Chica Chica Bum Chic gal of forties musicals - a large swash of Rousseau on the movie screens, a festive explosion of outrageous razzmatazz that may not have added much to culture but did add a lot to one's enjoyment of it...

Everything about this happy demon (except her height) was larger than life: her behavior; her struggles with the English language as it tripped its way into her head and out through her mouth in accents thick and hilarious; her eyes as they shrank into slits and lost themselves behind her cheeks rising and swelling through the effort required to pronounce her tongue-twisting lyrics at rapid speed; the continual motion of eyes, mouth, shoulders, hips, arms, hands, fingers and feet, the latter supported by elevated platforms that heightened her appeal, and the ever more extravagant gowns that have inspired nightclub performers ever since - garlands of sequins, bowers of living blooms around her hips and breasts, and orchards of fruit growing out of her turbans...

The total effect was that of some medieval fertility ritual goddess whose presence was a promise of fruitfulness...

5 out of 5 stars Not Too Sophisticated, But A Lot Of Fun.......2006-12-02

DOWN ARGENTINE WAY is a fun movie, plain and simple. It's a lighthearted Romeo and Juliet-esque story with a not so tragic ending. Betty Grable stars as Glenda Crawford, the fun loving daughter of a well to do industrialist. She spends most of her days looking at horses and chumming around with her amusing Aunt Binne (Charlotte Greenwood). She meets Ricardo Quintana, the son of a horse breeder from Argentina. She falls in love with him and hopes to buy a horse from him, but the deal falls through when Ricardo realizes that she is the daughter of his father's enemy. He snubs her, she doesn't understand why, so she and Aunt Binnie travel to Argentina so that she can slap his face. Of course she slaps his face, and the film progresses as one would expect--the two fall in love and all ends happily. While the basic plotline is predictable, it's fun to see just how the film will be resolved.

Of course most people who buy this film are not all that interested in the story, and will overlook its flaws: bad Spanish accents, what would be considered derogatory stereotypes if the film were made today and a few confusing characters. The singing and dancing numbers are what musical lovers enjoy, and this has some great moments. For one, we see Carmen Miranda starring as Carmen Miranda. How the Brazilian Bombshell ends up in Argentina we never know, but she's at a nightclub and she's the city's main entertainment attraction and it's fun to watch. We also see the Nicholas Brothers dance a tap number that doesn't seem all that Latino in flavor, but it's the Nicholas Brothers so we really don't care, we are just amazed at how they can move as they do. There's also a great number involving Aunt Binne. She and her escort arrive at a street festival and everyone in the festival seems pleased that this well to do WASP from New York decides to sing a song about courting a senorita. Charlotte Greenwood's moves are comical and skillful and it's the sort of scene you watch over and over. Betty Grable and Don Ameche hold their own as the stars, and their musical and dance numbers are good too.

In the end, DOWN ARGENTINE WAY is an enjoyable movie with great musical numbers that make it worth the price alone.

5 out of 5 stars MST 3K fadder.......2005-12-22

It's a hoot! MST 3K would have a field day with this movie. The only thing with "Breeders" is, MST 3K really would not be able to air their brand of spoofing because of all the gratuitous nudity. There are "A" movies. There are even "B" movies but this movies wouldn't even make a good run for a "C" movie. The dialog and monologs have no depth, no subtext, or real meaning between the laughable non talented no names that I hazard to say, stared in this movie. The acting makes this movie the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Have a group of your friends over and do your own MST 3K party. If you and your friends are half as witty as the acting in this film, you'll all have a great time. Don't rent it or buy this movie. It would be better if you could steel it.

1 out of 5 stars Aliens are bulletproof, but not boardproof........2005-08-15

Earth women gettin' raped by aliens. How could you mess that up? Well leave it to ol' Tim Kincaid, mastermind behind such hits as ROBOT HOLOCAUST and THE OCCULTIST to figure out a way.

It really is rare to see a movie this bad and not just overall bad like WILD, WILD WEST or SIGNS but bad on every single level. Directing, acting, script, FX, sets, continuity, everything and what makes it even worse is it wasn't funny bad, but painful bad.

Well, actually it was a little funny especially when one of the main characters beard disappeared!!!!!!!!!! Also the deformed alien baby was funny. I liked it when the cop shot the baby five times with no effect then just picked up a board and clobbered it over the head and killed it.

3 out of 5 stars More nudity than you can spank a monkey at!!!.......2005-05-01

This is one of those films you buy just for the skin content. There are 5 or six women that get buck naked, and it's a constant theme throughout the film. Awesome. Simply awesome.
The acting is absolutely atrocious--wow is it bad--but the director is clearly the kind of guy who focuses on things other than the acting, if you follow me. Lots and lots of naked women. What could be better in a lousy movie? At least this movie has the redeeming factor of abundant flesh to make up for the horrible acting, which so many other crappy films don't have.
Any guy that loves nekkid chix will have no problem with this film.

1 out of 5 stars Low buget horror joke.......2004-07-19

I started watching this movie and realized that it really sucked bad. I did not even finish watching the flick. Ugly movie with teribble actors. Skip it.

3 out of 5 stars Tried to be Scary, Wound up Funny.......2004-05-28

Every once in a while I see a film that convinces me there are film makers out there trying to emulate Ed Wood. Breeders is one such film. An alien life form arrives on Earth and begins to try and reproduce and thus take over the planet before moving on.

In order for the reproduction to be successful the alien is looking for healthy virgins. Loss of virginity opens the door to too many potential health risks that will inhibit the birth of new aliens. police detective teams up with a doctor to try and trace who is attacking women in New York City.

Near the end of the movie the creatures victims begin to disappear. The trail leads below the Empire State Building where the creature has a nest. There the women bathe in white goo. The doctor and detective come up with a plan and, with the help of some drunk public works employees, eliminate the alien threat.

This film is full of all of the bad things that make a movie good. These include, but are not limited to, really bad acting, bad writing, inattention paid to whether the scene is day or night and other strange details. If you happen to like really bad movie in the Ed Wood vein then you might want to take a look at this one. It is so bad it is hilarious.
