Great but flawed DVD.......2006-11-10

This is a fantastic DVD. Georgie Fame and class musicians such as Guy Barker on Trumpet put on a great show. There are performances of 60's hits like Yeh Yeh as well as a Mose Allison and Van Morrison songs and a few Jazz standards. So the music is great.

The DVD labelling and Amazon have got this very confused. Amazon say its region 1 and on the DVD case it says all regions and NTSC. I have tried it in a bog standard region 2 player in the UK and it plays fine. SO this is NOT region 1, which is good news if you're one of then many co.uk buyers.

On the DVD case it says Kenny Drew on Piano. Kenny Drew is not on this DVD, it also states its 90 minutes long. Wrong again its 60 minutes long. There is also no sign of when this recording was made, but I would guess it was recorded about 10 years ago.

A stunning diamond in a tin setting.......2005-12-20

This is one of the best live concert recordings ever, by one of the great jazzmen of the 20th century--and it's been treated like crap. Singer/keyboardist Mr. Fame and his famous Blue Flames blew up an insane breeze at the Theaterhaus in Stuttgart, once...but only they could tell you even what year it was: no date is given anywhere on the DVD or in the liner notes. Not even in the "copyright notice," which I believe makes this disc public domain. Worse, every single line of the personnel notes is wrong....beginning with the total omission of drummer James Powell--Georgie Fame's son!--and ending with the inexplicable crediting of Fame's piano to Kenny Drew, who never appears. Ignore all that and LEAP on this classic set by a giant at the peak of his power, backed by a kick-ass band. Trumpeter Guy Barker (not "Baker") is a force of nature, and so is Steve Gregory on tenor sax (listed here as "Steve Gregioretenor on saxophone") The title track is one of Georgie's very coolest compositions, high praise indeed.

You'll like this. Seems similar to me. The other guys in the band are very good but not much to look at. If you like guitar videos, add this one. This is blues the way I like it-not "stuck in a rut" blues. Good music.

The way it is, is perfect.......2005-11-21

It is not surprising that this DVD, released a week ago did not receive any comments till now: this is exactly the essence of Snowy White- instead of going in front of the stage, for some what reason he goes back stage, and this is huge loss for all blues fans. Snowy White is a blues guitar player rooted in the British blues of the 60'. Basically he follows his hero Peter Green and in some points in this DVD you can imagine that Peter Green is on stage- the technique, the sound and the slow solos, all are based on Peter Green' legacy. So, there is no wonder that he does some of Peter Green best songs. "Black Magic Woman" comes back to its roots- a slow even bitter song, sang with pain and not a salsa song. Snowy does the same with Jimi Hendrix- "Little Wing"- so many wrong interpretations to this amazing song, most of them went to the rock side. Now we have a very good interpretation that gives a lot of respect to Jimi. For all these good reasons, one should purchase this DVD. If you want to see what had happened with the amazing guitar players of Thin Lizzy (Snowy and Gary), just purchase this together with Gary' "Ballads&Blues" and you are settled. This is the way it is for Snowy, the fans want more.

This is without a doubt, the most unique and hilarious DVD I have in my collection. I have never heard (and seen) so many hilarious farts all in one collection. This guy is amazing!

Lighting the farts on fire is fascinating...I never knew someone could actually do that! The car scene with the "power window lock" made me laugh so hard, it made my stomach hurt.

I recommend this DVD for anyone who thinks farts are funny. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
